Ellie

Taking care of sick animals has always been Ellie’s dream. Unfortunately, her pay is as lousy as the men she attracts. Apparently, finding a man who isn’t a player and is willing to indulge her Little side is too much to ask.

Hawk

Overcoming his dark background, Hawk has fought for everything he wants from life. Not only does he have a huge and sometimes annoying family of brothers who are also his best friends, but he has his garage and the most beautiful house he could have ever imagined—two places he is free to be as grouchy as he wants.

When a maddening young woman’s car breaks down, and she can’t cover the costs, will Hawk step in and help her? Can he allow himself to want more?

One of the best shadows

These books are my go to comfort books. They are admittedly a little predictable. They have a really quick Insta connection, the Daddy helps the girl get through some insecurities, he gets super possessive, and it keeps evolving from there. I know what’s going to happen, but it’s still lovely to watch it pan out.

Still, this is one of the best of them. I love the character development, and it was a little bit darker, a little kinkier, then some of the others. There is a great set up for the new series that Kate is going to publish, and I’m just super excited for the whole family to zoom be complete.

Ellie and Hawk together are such a treat!
First off. I love that she calls him ‘Beasty’, so stinkin’ cute.
And then their dynamic is just so perfect for them, it was swoony.

I’ve been looking forward to getting to know Hawk, and see him get his much deserved HEA, and this was everything I wanted it to be.

Just. *sigh*
I loved it, and I can’t wait to see Angel get his girl.

Book 8 of The Daddies of the Shadows series by Kate Oliver is Hawk and Ellie's story. This book is one of the sweetest and most intriguing stories I have read.
Hawk may be grumpy and gruff but he has a heart of gold just waiting for his perfect Little to fill the void. Ellie is that perfect girl. Even though it may not have been love at first sight, Hawk knew that Ellie would be his and he just had to prove it to her.
With gifts of Matchbox cars and lots of love and care, the connection between Hawk and Ellie become unbreakable.
When Ellie unwittingly puts herself in the line of danger, she finds out that Hawk will do anything to protect her and that sometimes its good to have friends from the shadier side of the street.
You are going to just fall in love with Hawk and Ellie.

Hawk is an addition to Kate Oliver's Daddies of the Shadows series. Each story just keeps getting better and better! Hawk has been my favorite grump since the beginning of the series. I knew his book would be good. But it was better than good. It was AMAZING. His Little Ellie is sassy and brilliant and she gives him a good scare or two. I loved how the others all took to her and gave her a family, love, and support. Ellie is likes different things than the others we have seen so far. There is a scene with Leo and Hawk that I just adored. Hawk and Ellie really are a perfect pair!

This also introduces characters for Kate's shared series with Pepper North and Becca Jameson. And we get to see more of Declan and Killian from her upcoming series as well. I am looking forward to those as well!

Hawk

Tw: ab*se, humiliat!on, degradat!on, bad past relationships, bl**d, k!dnapping, hum*n tr*fficking mentions, body shaming from the past

Hawk and Ellie were cute. I was hoping for more spice tbh but it was a good story. Again I was hoping to see one of them get a little that didn’t know she was one or to use a safe word at any time but I did like the more clear setting of boundaries and talks in this one. It was good.
Hawk was grumpy and it was fun to see him lighten up even if we all already knew he’d be the big softie.
Ellie was cute and it was fun to see her at work so much and being an amazing person to dogs. We love it
Also I was waiting to see where the Nora storyline was going and assumed she’d end up within the circle

Tropes: grumpy/fiesty, touch her and d!e, over protective MMC, sorta enemies to lovers(she didn’t like him at all at first and tried to stay away- but he thought she was pretty), body positivity, ex shaming, found family

Spice: 🌶️.5
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sweetness: 💗💗💗💗💗

I've been excited for Hawk's book and it didn't disappoint. I love me an overly grumpy MMC and Hawk was definitely that. Especially the grumpy ones that are overly sweet to the FMC's. Love it! Also, it was semi-refreshing to finally see a tall Little amongst the group. Ellie is described as being 5 foot 9 (I believe). Not tall, tall. But I still liked it since most of the Littles are all described as petite and tiny. I thought it was cute how they could bond over their love of cars...and that scene where its said that pop is playing with Ellie with the hot wheels on the car rug...SO CUTE! Another set of new characters in Steele and Kade...it seems i signed myself up for a massive universe. Cannot wait to read Angels story. He's been so mysterious, I cannot wait to get to know him better!!

3/5 stars. I have read it, I liked it...I don't need to read it again.

Daddy kinks for the win. If you haven’t read the Daddies of the Shadows series you’re missing out. This book follows along with this incredible family of daddies and littles. Hawk is a possessive, overbearing, loving daddy. Ellie is an insecure, sweet, loving little girl. Definitely a sweet & spicy read!

Hawk et Ellie

Daddy et petite fille

📖
Ellie

"Tu m'as fait peur."

Beauty and Her Beasty

Each new book in this series becomes my favorite...how can we ever say goodbye to this series, these Littles and Daddies?!?

I adored Ellie. She had mad skills as a vet tech (and watching Hawk respect and encourage her career was awesome), she had struggles due to past relationships (who can't relate??) And her Little was the right blend of sweet and bratty.

I'm a sucker for these large and in charge, over the top Daddies....Hawk was throwing out all those vibes and making me swoon.

The Littles together are a riot, they "wanna get naugjty" and the hilarity ensues. Trouble in a pack with the ladies, and I'm here for it! 🤣😂

The two scenes with the Matchbox cars and the play carpet were so sweet, they really stuck out and stayed with me and something special about Ellie and her relationship with Hawk (and Pop)

Another amazing book in the series, and if there was any way to convince Kate to keep this story going forever I'd be blowing up her inbox with begging....I hate to ever leave this world she's built, it's just so well done.

So at midnight, like the naughty girl I am I stayed up and read it. Because unlike the little’s in this book I do not have a daddy that will spank me for stay up late. I have been waiting for Hawk’s book for what feels like ages and it did not disappoint.

This whole Daddies of the shadows series has been awesome. The premise is 8 brothers plus their father Leo who all have a shared tragedy. Not only that but they each have their own dark pasts to contend with. Hawk throughout the series has been the grumpy brother. They all work together in the shadow of night to take down things such as trafficking and finding missing women and children. I have been waiting for Hawk to get his own little for what seems like ages and Ellie is absolutely perfect for him.

Ellie this sweet yet insecure little comes into Hawks life, she has been hurt in the past. When Hawk inserts himself into her life it's only a matter of time before she gives in and lets him take total control. This is a DDlg book. I love how rough around the edges Hawk is and how Ellie perfectly balances him out.

There is too much in this book I love to be able to comment on it all but here's just a little insight:
-The way Hawk found out she was a little and then went to meet her was adorable!
-The car scene of Pop and Ellie on the floor with the cars absolutely melted me!
-When discussing limits and Ellie said she wanted Hawk to have full control... Damn that was hot!
-Plus we got to see characters from books in the making like Tate and Declan! As well as our first glimpse of Steele and Kade which are characters from a new collaboration series coming out about MC daddies!

This is a DDlg book with some dark themes thrown in so make sure to check trigger warnings.
Anyways happy reading!

3.8 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Before I begin, I skipped reading Leo, Maddox and Colt’s books.
Leo’s story with the whole Dd/lg dynamic with Kylie’s mother is not for me so I passed on that. I really hope they are not used a lot in any more books.
With the other two I just have no interest, I think they needed to be fleshed out more in the previous books. The same way Wolf and Hawk had been given moments to show their personalities. That and then describing what they look like gave me a chance to connect with them and even be attracted to them before their book came along.

Onto this book, Hawk and Ellie. I absolutely loved them, they were perfect for each other and I’m glad I didn’t skip this one!

I really liked how they met at the start, the way Ellie reacted to him was great. I love her nickname for Hawk. I like that she was tall, that was different, but where are my redhead Little’s? All the girls are blonde or brunette ☹️

There was mentions of them liking rough sex and yet I didn’t particularly read the smut as really rough which was a tad disappointing. Was hoping for something different to the other books, something a bit more exciting 3/5 🌶️

The diaper stuff is new to me and I’m not sure if I like it or not. I think I don’t mind diaper play but not them actually using it.

Not sure if I’m gonna read Angel’s book or not.

A grumpy Daddy and a sweet Little. The best combination!

There were so many things I loved about this book. Enter one grumpy, gruff and serious Daddy with a Little who needs help with her self confidence yet is so sweet, kind and funny and you have Hawk and Ellie. Hawk is overprotective and is so grumpy and moody that Ellie names him Beasty. But Hawk is so gentle and caring for just the right little girl.
“You were very naughty. Is throwing food and purposely making a mess like that acceptable behavior ?” “I’m guessing no?” I laughed so hard at this. But it was a huge moment in the story. It meant that she was comfortable and safe enough to be sassy and naughty. This story proves that there is someone out there for every one. It shows us that what we see or think about a person does not define who they are. It shows us what real love can do. In Ellie’s words…..”The right man will love you for you..”
This story is well written and has amazing character development. It is the eighth book in the Daddies of the Shadows series. I love how the characters mingle through all of the books in this series. By this point I feel as if I know all of these “people”. The plot is engaging and will keep you hooked from the moment you pick up this book! It is a definite 5 star book and I would highly recommend not only this book but the entire series.

I liked this one a lot. I loved Hawk (just as I thought I would). Hawk & Angel have consistently had my intrigue from the beginning, both were incredibly mysterious & I was super interested in finding out what kind of daddies they are.

Hawk was just as I expected, gruff around the edges, but soft for only her! We love that trope so much. plus I loved that he had a bit of roughness to him that showed in other aspects of the dynamic. this one was more of a slow burn to me, but I don’t feel it took away from the book, I think it was good for the relationship they were developing throughout. I love how the littles are constantly doing something to get in trouble & it just makes me laugh at their antics.

I think the only thing I didn’t love is that I don’t feel they discussed her insecurities enough, like you knew she had them, but considering how much she internally talked about her insecurities throughout her POV, I felt it was kind of skipped over in some ways throughout the book.

I really enjoy Kate Oliver's Little stories and the Daddies of the Shadows is my favorite series of hers. Grumpy Hawk and Wolf are my favorites (buuuuutttt, quiet Angel in the background may surprise us all).

Hawk has always been the strictest and grumpiest of the brothers but always seems the most concerned when a Little is hurt or in trouble. I loved his truck remodel from Colt and it showed that he really did have a fun-loving side as opposed to the Grump that he showed everyone. Ellie is 100% perfect to being Hawk's Little. From taking care of the doggies to playing with Pop to loving Hawk, Ellie is one of my favorite LIttles. I totally did not see the danger headed toward this couple, but I am so glad for all of Hawk's brothers and friends.

If you are into Daddies and their Litlle Girls, grab this series and get read to be sucked in. I love this author - we begged and she released this story early! I know Declan is getting his own story and now I have my fingers crossed for Killian to get one as well.

Ellie works at the rescue shelter that Beau has set up. Hawk goes to pick out a dog and finds her alone. No one is to be alone at the shelter because of how they get the dogs. Ellie and Hawk fight about it. Beau comes and calms them down giving Ellie instructions to call him when she is alone. She leaves and her car won't start. She and Hawk get into it again. He decides she can use one of his cars. She does not want to drive a classic muscle car into her neighborhood. When he learns of her circumstances, he has her move in with him. The other littles find out she is a little and sets her up with Hawk at the Playground. Can they make it work?

I enjoyed this story. Both of them are stubborn and can hold their ground. I like how we get both of their stories. I like when Ellie learns of the family's secret side work. She will be glad of it as well as the family's friendships when trouble comes her way. I have to admit I never saw this ending coming. I figured Ellie would get in trouble because of the dogs but not how it all happened. I liked that the friendships helped her in this case.

I look forward to reading the next book in the series. I cannot believe I am almost done with this series.

I liked this one. Hawk needed someone strong who could stand up to him.

So the book that I was dreading, (As Hawk always seemed so dark and broody.) is the one that I’ve enjoyed the most, so far. When Hawk sees Ellie (One of the vet techs.) at the warehouse, with the rescue dogs on her own, he really tells her off. Ellie sticks up for herself, and he finds her fascinating. She finds him really annoying. They don’t instantly fall into bed and I like that.

Ellie has a lot of body hang ups from her exes, who all cheated on her and treat her bad. Hawk is so sweet and is really determined to make her see that she’s beautiful. Hawk is so sweet that I half fell in love with him.

I really enjoyed this book, but there are a few annoyances. AGAIN….. HOW OLD IS HAWK? HOW OLD IS ELLIE? What does Ellie look like? Apart from her being 5’9 that’s all we know, oh and she thinks she’s fat. It’s a recurring theme with this author that you get no descriptions of either of them.

Hawk finally finds his Little.

Growly, "Beasty" Hawk didn't think he'd ever find his own little, but the minute he meets car loving, dog loving, vet tech Ellie, he just knew she was his. She thought he hated her because all he did was growl at her, but then she meets the brother's other Littles, and they explain that that is just the way he shows his love and protection. She's his perfect match- sweet and feisty but wants to give up decision making in her personal life. I love that she got her dream car finished but I wish she could've been a part of fixing it up like she was supposed to with her dad. I also can't believe that all the dogs they save are able to be saved, since they were trained to fight and be vicious? Some must have to be put down. :( She didn't seem to have a problem with any of them. I still reccomend this book. Next comes Angel, can't wait. Oh, and it was fun to see a couple of Shadowridge guys show up too!

Alway will love Hawk

This book was so so good. If you have read though other books, you will know that Hawk seems to be a bit Grumpy at times, but inside he really is a soft bear. But when the right person comes for Hawk, he will go into overprotective mode. Another book not to be miss ,i just loved these two souls. And we even get a peak at a couple of bikers whose story is up and coming !!!

Ellie, is a little, but has let no one know, however when Hawk turns up to pick up a dog from the centre he see she is alone. But thats not all, he is attracted to Ellie because she really is a sassy brat and he loves that.
Its not long before all his brothers partners are wanting to see Ellie and make friends, but it seems that its a good thing because it helped his see little Ellie.
Dont miss out on another book im sure you will love it.!!!

Hawk believes he is so gruff, demanding and rough that no Little would want him. He is lonely and though physically close to his family, he feels he is being left behind with not finding a Little. Going to the kennels that Beau manages for rescued dogs, Hawk finds Ellie alone in the warehouse, looking after the dogs. Sparks fly. Hawk is a Daddy and Ellie is a Little, who is brillant and cares so much for the dogs that they only matter and being alone and unsafe isn’t important. Trouble in the kennels explodes and the family must once again rally around to save a Little in trouble. Hawk's family envelope Ellie into their midst with love and care. It is great to see cameos from Killian and Declan in this book and can't wait to see if they get their own story.
I loved this book, as I do all of Kate Oliver's books and look forward to the next story.

Okay, I love all the Littles in this series but I seriously think Ellie is my favorite right now! This story with her and Hawk was the "chef's kiss"! She's sassy, brassy and keeps Hawk on his toes. I loved seeing everyone from the previous characters, to more of Declan and Killian and also characters from Ms. Oliver's upcoming series with Pepper North and Becca Jameson. Hawk may be a "grump" but with Ellie, his heart is in the right place. There were several moments that made me cry happy tears but you'll have to read the story to figure out what I'm talking about. Wolf will always be my favorite (for the moment) but Hawk is now a very close second! This story was so good and I loved everything about it!

Hawk

One thing Kate Oliver does well is create a back story. Whilst Hawks personality has been hinted at over the rest of the series and has become a character I personally love, his own book took things one step further and allowed us to see the reasons why he is the way he is and also to see the full extent of the softer side we’ve previously glimpsed.

Ellie was the perfect Little to be matched with him. She needed someone who was willing to be gruff and grumpy but also soft and sweet and Kate got the blend of that perfectly with Hawks character. It was also refreshing for the main fmc to not be a tiny petite thing but to recognise that there are Littles in all different shapes and sizes including Ellie who is tall and curvier than average.

Wow! I literally devoured this book in one sitting! Hawk is everything!! I’m a lover of this series and each story has a special place in my heart, and now, so does Hawk. He is grumbly and gruff, and wants to find a Little for himself, but he knows he is pretty intense both in and out of the bedroom and needs to find that special someone. When he meets Ellie, a vet assistant who helps with Beau’s rescue dogs, he knows he found his perfect Little. She is adorable and kind and loves animals and when she meets Hawk she is attracted to him, yet a bit apprehensive. But Hawk shows her how life can be with him as her Daddy. These two melted my heart. Their witty interactions made me chuckle and I fell in love with both of them. A truly enjoyable read!!

Ellie and Hawk… the beast and his weakness/strength.

Ellie has a passion for rescuing animals, but unfortunately, it doesn’t pay enough to make life easy. Working for a non-profit that saves dogs from fighting circuits, Ellie knows her job comes with risks. What she never expected, however, was that the real danger would come from much closer to home.

Hawk is a man scarred by past traumas that have left him grumpy and anti-social. But when he meets the meek yet fiercely determined vet assistant at his brother’s new dog rescue, he finds himself unable to resist her.

Hawk may be a beast, but he’s her beast, and Ellie is his peace. Their story is heartwarming and sweet, and you can’t help but root for them from the very beginning.

This book does not disappoint! He is rough and has all these pointy edges that seem to just melt away when he meets Ellie. She is not afraid to give him sass and he finally met his match. He finally feels like he has somebody that understand him in a way that his brothers can't fill. I devoured this book. It has everything a DDLG Book should have plus some danger. I mean who doesn't like to live on the wild side. I also really loved the fact that there was sneak peeks of the upcoming books! If I could give it 10 stars I would. If you like Wolf, and the other brothers, you're definitely going to want to read this!

A definitely 5 star book

A must read absolutely loved this book I love all of kate Oliver's books in this series but definitely this one of my favorite the way hawk is so protective and loving to Ellie and that he takes so much consideration when he redid her car and the match box cars that were his and he gave to her it was so sweet it made me want to cry too. Also the epilogue let's just say I'm excited for angels book to come out in June. The whole story was amazing I loved their daddy and little girl bond and how the whole family cares for all the littles anytime someone needs something. Definitely a favorite in my books and will be reading again.

I have absolutely no words right now. I just finished reading Hawk by Kate Oliver. This is the eighth book in her Daddies Of The Shadows series. From past stories, I knew Hawk had a soft side underneath all of his gruff exterior. I was expecting something epic for his book, and I was not disappointed!!! Ellie is the perfect combination of sweet and sassy to compliment Hawk. She is a firecracker who has the ability to soften Hawk's rough edges. I whole-heartedly love this story, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in reading it. Congratulations, Kate!!! Keep up with the amazing work you do!!!

Just wow🤩🤩🤩

I just love this books, this one was finished in less than 24 hours because I just can't stop reading.
You fall in love with the family or at least I've done that and I am heart brooken if Angel is the last we get to interact with Daddies of the shadows and their little ones❤

This book is as good as any of the others in this series, if you like this reading material then I will warmly recommend this books. But I will also urge everyone to start at the begining because their are small things along the way that make each book better and better.

Huge thanks to Kate Oliver for bringing such good books😍😍😍

DD/lg romance is such a hard sub genre to read for me. I tend to either love a book in this genre or hate it. This is entirely down to how the author writes the dynamic. And even when it’s written in a way I can connect with, there are usually still a few things that never quite resonate with me. But some aspects of these stories I love.

Kate Oliver is one of the authors that I love to read in this sub genre.

If DD/lg is not your thing but you read other D/s dynamics and wonder if you’d like DD/lg romance, Kate Oliver and specifically the Daddies Of The Shadows series is where I’d recommend you start.

Best book so far!

Hawk was literally the best and had the best balance emotionally and s3xua11y when it came to Ellie. I loved how Hawk let her "do naughty things" without a punishment or spanking being involved because he knows it's good to be silly and enjoy the moment. He was very assertive and knew exactly what Ellie needed and was receptive to her emotions. I truly think Hawk is the most balanced and loving partner out of the group - *hands up* just my opinion, lol

Can't wait to read Angel's book next!!!!! I came across that book first, actually, and when I realized it was a series, I started from the beginning. I've FINALLY made it back, and I'm so excited 😊
