How to Plan a Wedding: A Month-by-Month Guide for Modern Weddings
Take the stress out of planning a wedding that reflects your style with this twelve-month, actionable, and portable guide that covers all the ins and outs of modern weddings.
From Terri Pous, the writer behind The New York Times article "How to Plan a Wedding," comes a portable, comprehensive guide to planning your dream wedding and minimizing stress. Whether you're eloping at city hall or throwing a no-expense-spared reception for 300 guests, this month-by-month guide will help you knock out to-dos and divvy up tasks so you can enjoy every minute of your engagement.
With an inclusive approach for LGBTQ+ couples, gender-neutral design and interactive elements like a questionnaire, a wedding style quiz, and lines for jotting down notes, you'll want to bring this book with you to every venue visit (that's in month one), vendor appointment (month three), tasting (month four), and fitting (month ten). You can even bring it along for the ride to your bach party (plan that in month seven)--cheers! Terri guides you step-by-step to the big day, encouraging you to choose the things you actually want and skip those that don't matter.

This book has an attractive layout and shares good advice for wedding-planning, along with checklists and timelines for when to do certain things. The author suggests different factors to take into account when making big decisions, and includes some ideas for small things that someone might not think of otherwise.
This is definitely geared towards people who are planning non-traditional weddings, and there's a lot of space taken up with different ideas and decision factors for things that won't be relevant to someone who is planning a traditional church wedding. This book is best for people who are looking to do something unusual and highly personalized, and want help working through a variety of ideas.
I received a temporary digital copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really useful and informative guide to planning a wedding. It is helpful arranged in time ordered so can be aware of what needs to be thought about or completed at certain intervals leading up to the wedding. There were a number of small but important and meaningful things this book made me aware of, which was really useful. The book is also aesthetically appealing yet simple and easy to follow. This would be a good gift for yourself or someone you know, who is planning a wedding.

Terri is truly the best guide to planning a wedding!!! I appreciate that she emphasizes that you can do whatever you want for your wedding if it feels true and important to you! Something I definitely took to heart when planning my own wedding and it made it all the better!
