Biff and Buff are always carried around in Mr. Pockets' coat pockets, but when Biff finds himself lost in a hole that has become too big, it is up to Mr. Pockets to locate him and reassure him that all is well once more.

I loved this book on so many levels. I loved how the dog tried to alert his own about a potential problem. I love how in the thick of that problem he does what he can to solve his problems. I love that the owner, once aware of the problem immediately sets down to fix it so it won't happen again. May more of our alert others to potential problems we see, do what we can to solve our problems. And may we immediately fix problems when we are aware of them.
Bill and Biff went everywhere with Mr.Pockets in the comfort of his coat pockets, Bill in the left pocket, and Buff in the right pocket of the big coat. One day Bill fell through a hole in the pocket he was carried in, and his adventures, while being lost began. But in the end, life with Bill, Buff, and Mr. Pockets was restored.
This is a short and sweet tale about a man who has dogs that are small enough to travel in his pocket. I grew up with little dogs (although most were quite a bit bigger than the ones in this story) and my father is known for carrying his pups around (in his shirt, in a snugli, etc.) So I found this story to be quite a familiar one. The illustrations are colorful and cartoonish and the dogs are adorable. We enjoyed reading this book together.
Margaret Wild's output is really quite varied, and vast. And sometimes quite distubing. This one is the cute story of a scruffy old man who carries his two dogs about in his old coat pockets.
