I read this book as an extension to my reading for my Masters of Education.
This book's biggest draw is its simplicity and ease of reading. Davies does a great job talking about important assessment practices without being too wordy or too much like a textbook. I will be using portions of this book as solid PD reading for my staff team around assessment.
I think the only drawback of her work is that it would have been strengthened by using more of Chappuis, Stiggins, Chappuis, and Arter's work to define some of her categories. She said remarkable similar things, but treated them with some different wording.
Otherwise, this is a great read for teachers or administrators.
As far as texts go, this one is pretty good. The language is straight forward and the examples are relevant and plentiful. A good read with useful and applicable information. I'm sure I'll refer back to it often
