Clare Bentley is a married mother of a son and a daughter. She discovered a love for creative writing in secondary school English, which was the only lesson she cared to attend. But the only thing she ever wanted to be was a mother, being just 19 when she had her son in 1995 and a daughter 17 months later.
She started writing fan fiction when her children were small and she needed an outlet from the privileged role she played in their lives - in a bid to have a hobby. That developed over the yeats and in 2007 she wrote a fan fiction based on the TV show, Supernatural. It got people's attention. Once her kids were grown - 5 years ago - she decided to take the advice of friends and try her hand at writing; something that was hers, with a world and characters she created from scratch. It took 4 years for her to write her debut novel - wanting to do it the justice it deserved... and that led here.

Oh my god, she's done it again. this author never fails to amaze me with her stories and this time was no different. I've loved every book that Clare Bentley has written and I can honestly say this one is my favourite by far. While she may still be a relatively new author to self publishing there is no doubt in my mind that she is going to continue to to produce amazing books that can instill so many different emotions.
Olivia is a strong single mother with a daughter who is pretty much a mini me of her, they have an amazing relationship and it's lovely to see. Olivia has been through some tough times during her life but she has risen above them and survived whatever life has thrown at her to turn her into the strong woman she needs to be, as well as being a caring loving person as well.
This book will draw you in from the start and you'll find it hard to put down, I actually read it in one day it was that good. You need to check it out for yourself so you can follow Olivia and Drea on their journey together and take the roller coaster of emotions along with them both.
It's a story of family, friendship, love, unrequited love, suspense, and so much more. Make sure you get a copy because you do not want to miss out.

It is no secret I adore Bentley, however this is by far her best book to date. Olivia is a captivating lead, and Drea is like looking in a mirror—the pair of them remind me so much of elements of my own mother/daughter relationship.
I found this book impossible to put down. I was drawn through the story with a severe desire to know all the answers faster than I could read them. It is rare a book hooks me in such a way, but Bentley seems to manage it with every offering. I laughed, I cried, and I chewed my fingernails to nubs, but it was entirely worth it.
This is a fantastic read, and one I cannot recommend highly enough. Do yourself a favour and grab a copy today; I can promise you it will be the best choice you make!

an amazing read!!!
This is the first book that I have read by this author AND it was amazing!!!!!!!!!

Omg! Clare has done it again kept me hooked in another one of her books! Thank you Clare for giving me the opportunity to read this as part of ARC, always a pleasure to read your work, it allows me a little escapism from daily life, this one sure did keep me hooked and wondering what was going to happen! Just brilliant! Can’t wait to see what’s next!!

Technically, this is my first book by Clare Bentley, though I did read another at the same time!
This is a beautifully woven plot full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing for a very long time. Trying to figure out who the villain is will keep you on your toes throughout, and you'll be rooting for Olivia until the very end!

It’s been a long time since a book left me totally guessing pretty much until the action completely exploded.
Bentley weaves a story and intrigue all while being sympathetic to the topics and subjects dealt within the book.
A must read.

Bentley has done it again-she has found her niche, her calling in what I love to call visionary writing - such engaging storytelling and vivid characters-you can't wait to finish, but you don't want the story to end either-Congratulations again Clare!
