DAMIAN AND KINZIE
As a fan of Ms. Delta James' Wayward Mates series, there are many similarities in the story-line, two wolf shifters meeting, realizing they are fated mates, which she will fight, but never wins. But then, beyond how they come together, accept fate, and the relationship, the story is new. This new series, Tangled Vines, will also revolve around vineyards.
Kinzie Edwards lives in Paris is a freelance reporter for various food and wine publications. She has gone to Florence, Italy, to meet her sister and brother-in-law, Kayla and Evan, and then travel to DeMedici villa. Kinzie and Kayla are identical twins—but one is now a she-wolf, and the other does not know. As they travel, their driver notices something is wrong with the car and instructs them to prepare to jump when he gives them the signal.
"One moment she'd been happy, talking to the driver, the road safe, the day sunny. All of that was shattered when she'd heard Kayla scream and an ear-splitting blast echoed all around her. In that fraction of a second, her world was torn apart."
When Damian and the Luna de Lobo pack are informed that Evan and Kayla did not make it to their destination, the driver and car not found he will immediately head to Italy. Arriving, he feels a call, a pull, and with a helicopter team, he sees the blast site. What appeared to be his two friends, Evan and Kayla, another woman, is unrecognizable. But when he hears a moan, he realizes that 'Kayla' is still alive and a medical team brought in. Damian is called to Kayla—but that is odd; he's known her for years and never felt this way. During her recovery—he will not leave her and eventually returns her to their pack.
"Her soul recognized his in a way she'd dismissed when her sister proclaimed Evan to be her soul mate. Whoever this man was, he provided her a tenuous hold onto her life and eased her suffering."
The plot of this story is heart-wrenching as death comes to not one but two packs. To learn that Kinzie survived and, in many ways, Evan saved her life before dying. Damian has now met and claimed his fated-mate, but she wants nothing to do with him or his claim.

"I am your lord and alpha. My word is law for you and the rest of our pack. I miss them, too. I can't imagine what it must be like to lose a twin. Then to wake up after a horrible attack to find your DNA has been over-written without your knowledge, and you're called to a fated mate, a concept completely foreign to you."
The story is a fast-paced tale, a spin-off from the Wayward Mates series, and has several people from that series. It also will take place in America and Europe. There is trouble brewing, Hunters attacking, and she-wolves are the target. Kinzie will come face-to-face with danger, fights off one attacker, and has words with another Hunter.
I love the angst, the chemistry, the erotic passion between Damian and Kinzie. While this wasn't something she wanted, and new to her, she knows how Evan and Kayla were soul-mates and learns that "fated-mates" are not something that can be denied or ignored—she knows that they are fated mates and fight it or not, she won't win—so eventually she'll accept the fact and enjoys the ride—but not before she goes on a merry chase.
"Kinzie knew this wasn't lovemaking; there would be time enough for that later. Right now, she understood his need to dominate her, to ensure she acquiesced and submitted to him in all things."
"I had a very wise woman point out to me that happiness was standing right in front of me if only I had the courage to reach out and take it."
The good, the bad, and the ugly play their roles. Kinzie must accept that her life has changed, her DNA has changed, her sister is gone, but she has a new life and happiness to be found if she will only open her heart and soul. Damian held out for a fated-mate and will do whatever it takes to keep her and make her happy. The hunters are bold, and now they have a few names and faces to add to their intel.

The story does have power exchange, male dominance, feisty females, who eventually learn submission is powerful. There are explicit scenes and discipline. While the story does not end on a cliffhanger, it does give us insight into the next book.

Uncorked, is an explosive hot erotic love story where the head Alpha wolf Damian is seeking his mate. I love that Kinzie and Damian come together to find out if they belong with one another. The swirling romance between the two is beautiful. I love how Damian claims Kinzie as his and is willing to protect from everything. The story reads with a fast pace. The action and drama holds up very well. I can say that the mystery and the entertainment holds my attention through the book. I find that this book was. a good read for me.

This book is certainly something. Good? No. If I were able, I would give the book zero stars and do not recommend. The author has taken the concept of “Alpha” to an extreme in which the behaviour of the men is pathological.
In addition to the stilted dialogue, overly formal tone, and total lack of character development, the male characters ascribe to a regressive belief system in which they physically, verbally, and emotionally torture women as a routine part of their cultural traditions. Were it not for the use of private jets and personal helicopters, the setting would have made more sense if it were set in 1821 rather than 2021 given the way that the female characters are abused and treated as chattel.
I am loathe to draw inference to 50 Shades of Grey, which I could not read past the first chapter of the first book, but the author seems to have similar mistaken beliefs as EL James that BDSM and physical abuse are indistinguishable. It was particularly disturbing when the FMC tells the other characters that she does not consent to any of the things that are happening and they are holding her hostage, against her will, but the men laugh it off like she is nothing - promising violent retribution for having the audacity to stand up for herself against their tyranny. The other female characters were also threatened with violence if they helped her in any ways. I was shocked by the gaslighting when one of the male characters working to keep her imprisoned says that “it’s to keep [her] from hurting [herself]”. It was reminiscent of Nurse Ratchet in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest.

I was thoroughly enthralled by this intriguing wolf shifter romance & I look forward to the amazing journey that this talented author is going to take us on with this series. There are similarities between this book & another series “Wayward Mates and there some character crossovers that have a minor influence on this book. The well-written plot has good world building with some outstanding details & splendid scene descriptions. The characters are unique with well-depicted personalities & have good chemistry although they are inclined to be a bit confrontational. There is good support from the secondary characters.
There is: wolf shifters, hunters, fated mates, a hot male wolf shifter (Damien Steele) & alpha of the “Sonoma Pack”, a feisty female wolf shifter (Kinzie Edwards), her deceased sister (Kayla) & husband/mate (Evan), a wolf pack, action, adventure, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, danger, threats, enemies, attacks, deceit, betrayal, memories, heartache, emotional turmoil, manipulations, defiance, shock, anger, verbal conflict, discipline, spanking, complications, escape, vengeful feelings, confrontations, compromises, advice, acceptance, love, happiness, steamy scenes & a satisfying conclusion for this couple with a interesting ending that could be paving the way for the next book in this series.

I just couldn’t like Damian. I don’t know why, but he pissed me off from the start and I just couldn’t like him. I know it’s fated mate and everything but he as so selfish. I don’t mind spanking but when the receiver wasn’t treated right and it was the giver’s fault, I just don’t like it.
Of course there is ton of dominant sex and again all for it as long as we get to see the love. Sometimes Delta doesn’t do that well. I will keep reading the series.

I loved everything about Kinzie and Damian’s story. Kinzie and Damian were wonderful characters and perfect together. Their story is filled with action, twists, adventure, and chemistry. I’m looking forward to reading the next book.

It was a good read. Not too much wolfie stuff but that’s okay. Didn’t like the spanking that was more the alpha’s fault the hers. I really didn’t like Damian all that much he was selfish and didn’t think of anyone but his own feelings. He just didn’t show the love. I am all for D/s but I have to feel the love.

I, plus I'm sure so many others have been anticipating this book with patience I didn't realize I had and Delta James has delivered in spades! 'Uncorked' is the first book in her "Tangled Vines" series. If you've read the prequels or even just the blurb then you'll know there is an evil entity out there. The Hunters seem to be organizing in their quest to exterminate wolf-shifters. Kinzie, her twin sister Kayla, and Kayla's mate Evan were going to meet and visit the DeMedici Pack. On the way from the airport, a bomb had gone off, blowing up the car and throwing the driver and three passengers, ultimately killing all but Kinzie. There's a great deal of confusion because few know Kayla had a sister and even fewer knew she was an identical twin. So much intensity is displayed, whether it was loyalty, anger, fear, chemistry, or love amongst these characters. Then you have the intrigue and suspense of what's around the corner and what the Hunter's are planning. I couldn't be more pleased with the start of this series and am highly anticipating the next book. Now if I can just wait without fidgeting.

A case of mistaken identity leads Damian, Alpha of the Sonoma Pack, to believe that it is Kayla, the woman found next to Evan and Evan’s widow who is his fated mate. He brings Kinzi home to Luna de Loba Vineyard in California.
Kinzi has no idea that her DNA is changed and she is now a wolf. She does not understand the concept of fated mate nor has she any knowledge of pack rules. Needless say Damian and Kinzi are at odds.
Kinzi is a strong, clever, independent woman who has been looking after herself for many years. She experiences extreme conflict between her inexplicable emotional and physical response to Damian and her mental feedback. Kinzi had no idea that shifters existed and is naive and vulnerable and is, as well, experiencing deep grief at the loss of Kayla.
Damian is a predatory Alpha who is unable to relate to Kinzie’s experience of being forced to transition and compelled to mate a virtual stranger. He is ensnared in the headspace that he is Alpha and So. Be. It.
It is engrossing to follow Damian and Kinzi’s journey from suspicion, doubt and alienation to one of trust and reconciliation.

I was sent a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Kinzie Edwards is waiting to be reunited with her identical twin sister Kayla and Kayla's new husband Evan. On the way from the airport the car they are in is bombed and Kayla and Evan are brutally murdered. Kinzie wakes up in an unknown location, to an unknown man claiming she is his fated mate. Damian Steele believes this young woman to be Kayla and thinks that because Kayla's husband was killed and she survived he has a chance to claim her as his fated mate. Complicated? That's only the beginning. The web of intrigue, murder, mistaken identities, strong wills, fear of the unknown, desperation - it's all woven into this story in such a way that once you pick this book up - you can't put it down. I loved the whole mistaken identity thing and Kinzie having to convince Damian she is Kinzie not Kayla. Then both of them realizing that Evan has turned Kinzie to give her a chance at survival knowing that his beloved Kayla was already dead. So Kinzie also has to deal with the knowledge that her whole life has change permanently and will never be the same again. Add a group of human known as The Hunters who want all the wolf shifters dead. Plus Kinzie's ex-boyfriend being one of the Hunters and this book is so full of plots, revenge, love and everything else that Delta can throw in. But it's such an easy story to read.
I love the way Delta can put a story together and seeing her name on the cover of a book guarantees a fabulous read.
Normally I choose a book by its cover and if it wasn't for Delta's name being on the cover I would have overlooked this book and missed a darn good story.

Kinzie Edwards is waiting to be reunited with her identical twin sister Kayla and Kayla's new husband Evan. On the way from the airport the car they are in is bombed and Kayla and Evan are brutally murdered. Kinzie wakes up in an unknown location, to an unknown man claiming she is his fated mate. Damian Steele believes this young woman to be Kayla and thinks that because Kayla's husband was killed and she survived he has a chance to claim her as his fated mate. Complicated? That's only the beginning. The web of intrigue, murder, mistaken identities, strong wills, fear of the unknown, desperation - it's all woven into this story in such a way that once you pick this book up - you can't put it down. I loved the whole mistaken identity thing and Kinzie having to convince Damian she is Kinzie not Kayla. Then both of them realizing that Evan has turned Kinzie to give her a chance at survival knowing that his beloved Kayla was already dead. So Kinzie also has to deal with the knowledge that her whole life has change permanently and will never be the same again. Add a group of human known as The Hunters who want all the wolf shifters dead. Plus Kinzie's ex-boyfriend being one of the Hunters and this book is so full of plots, revenge, love and everything else that Delta can throw in. But it's such an easy story to read.

If this is the standard that we can expect from this new series, then we are
in for a real treat. Ms.James always puts a kick in her stories and Uncorked
was a winning touchdown.
Damian was the unapologetic Alpha of the Luna De Loba pack. He was dark
and menacing in the best possible way. He emanated raw, potent masculinity,
but I feel that he came on far too strong with Kenzie.She was grieving for the
loss of her twin sister and her brothers-law. Kenzie’s way of dealing with Damian was to run, and run she did all the way home.Kenzie was confused. She fought so hard against the pull she felt towards Damian, but her body craved his touch.
Both Damian and Kenzie struggled with their emotions at times. Damian’s need
to protect Kenzie took over his need to punish her. He started to ease her into
her new life. Kenzie stopped fighting the force that pulled her into Damian’s
arms and gained unimaginable joy. She was the strong, sassy heroine that Damian desired. She was the perfect mix of strength and submission.
This was a fast-moving and action-packed book that will have you looking for
other books by this author.

A really great read, impossible to put down once I started reading
Kinzi had been waiting to see her identical twin sister Kayla and husband Evan for some time and now they were all together again the limo that had been sent to collect them and drive the around. Who would have thought that the laughter and the love she had seen and heard in her sister and the love of her life Evan’s eyes would be permanently changed and there was not a damn thing she could do to stop it from happening?
When Damian had heard of the attack by the hunters and the death of his two packmates his vintner assistant and Kenzi and his Beta Evan. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that the woman, he found was Kinzi and that she is his Fated mate, unfortunately being close to death and already undergoing the change to wolf he has a lot of explaining to do if she survives the transgression fully.
Damián has never been happier he has discovered his fated mate and now he has to explain to Kinzi what is happening to her body and also explain why her sister and her mate were killed as they were all travelling in Italy, unfortunately she has other ideas.
When Damian discovers that his recently marked mate has made a run for it he is furious and also frustrated, when he discovers she is on the way to Italy he knows she is looking for the hunters and for retribution he knows her life is at risk.
This is a wonderful read and it is simply wonderful to meet up again with Marco and Catherine in Italy along with Damian’s brother and his recently turned mate.
This is a wonderful read and I guarantee that once you start reading you will not be able to put this book down until you reach the very last page.

On top of it, Kinzie discovers that she had been turned and she is now a wolf shifter. To say she isn't thrilled about the whole situation would be an understatement! Damian, the alpha to the Sonoma pack, had waited many years for his fated mate. One look at the critically injured women and he instantly knows that she is the one. He will stop at nothing in order to claim her, even if it's against her wish. But even though Kinzie feels the connection between them, and there is no denying the incredible sexual attraction she feels for Damian, she refuses to accept his dominance over her and bolts, putting her life at risk by doing so. I totally get her decision to take off on her own, as Damian isn't taking into account her emotional state when he demands that she submit to him. I love Delta's dominant guys, but Damian's demands were a bit over the top even for me. I was pleased when he'd seen the error of his ways and became more understanding of her feelings.
Delta's new Tangled Vines series connects with her previous shifters series "Wayward Mates". We get to meet Catherine & Marco DeMedici again (with Catherine joining forces with Kinzie to create mayhem). As Darby's name was mentioned, I really hope we get to re-visit her & Jean-Michel in the coming books. I loved the Wayward Mates series, but the new series does not disappoint! With a new ensemble of headstrong, spunky ladies and hot alpha men, Tangled Vines will give Wayward Mates a run for its money.

I have gone from avoiding shifter romance to being a fan due to Delta James. No one writes shifter romance and alpha males like Ms. James. Her books are what fantasies are made of. If you enjoyed her 'Wayward Mates Series', you are going to love her 'Tangled Vines Series'. The descriptive locations are a vacation within themselves. 'Uncorked' is the debut book of this new 'Tangled Vines Series' and has already gotten me addicted. Packed full of mystery, suspense, action , adventure and a whole lot of heated off-the-charts romance and you have a winning novel. This is a signature Delta James book with fresh locations, characters, and storyline. I highly recommend this book and anticipate the next one in the series. Absolutely loved the start to this new series. It was passionate, fast paced and action packed. Perfect recipe for a great engaging read. Kinzie is a brilliant head strong she-wolf. I love her inner power to fight for what she needs and to honor her sister. Discovering the evolution of Damian from a pure neanderthal alpha to a strong, dominant alpha. While Damain maintains his position in charge in a male dominated hierarchy, he learns to consider the feelings of his fated mate. I loved the role of the other she wolves and mistresses, they were priceless. Despite knowing they will be disciplined, they were all willing to do whatever Kenzie needed on her journey. Keep them coming Delta James!! I can’t wait!

I really enjoyed this new series. The author is writing in the same world as the Wayward mates, but there is a new focus. Kinzie is the identical twin of Kayla, the mate of the omega of the Luna de Lobo pack. When she meets her twin and her mate in Italy the car they are in is blown up. Evan and Kayla die, but Kinzie lives. The only problem is that the pack thinks that she is Kayla, as they did not know they were identical twins. Damian is the alpha of the pack and he knows that Kayla/Kinzie is his mate. When she finally wakes up and lets them know who she is, Damian doesn't care; he just knows that she is his mate. Kinzie has trouble accepting that she is a wolf now and she definitely does not want a mate. Eventually she learns that she can have everything she wants as the submissive mate of Damian, but only after many bouts of discipline. This is a wonderful first book in a new series and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

The pack consists of wolf shifters that Kinzie knows nothing about, but will be shocked to learn, she is one too. To save her life, Evan turned Kinzie and she's now a wolf shifter too. Damian is confused about his mate as he's never felt for Kayla any connection before but soon learns that there was an unknown mix up from the accident, Kayla was a twin. The story and resulting connection between Damian and Kinzie is fun, sexy, hot and confusing but love will conquer all in the end. Kinzie becomes a no holds barred wolf shifter once she accepts and adapts to her new life and the love is provides. I look forward to the next story in Tangled Vines which I think will be about Stephanie, a real firecracker and Hudson, who will not suffer her resistance to discipline.

Shifters are my favorite genre, and Ms. James did not disappoint. This is a well-written plot has good world building with some outstanding details & splendid scene descriptions. The characters are well-developed with their own quirky personalities. The chemistry between Damien and Kinzie is off the charts - with steamy sex and spankings.

I loved this story! I couldn't put this story down. I was caught up in it from the first page. I loved both Kenzie and Damian. I have been a fan of Delta James for years and this new series by her is amazing. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

I love that we get to go on another adventure with this alternate series from the Wayward Mates, still with the wolf shifter packs but with some cross over with the memorable and popular characters from Wayward Series

This is another brilliant series with diverse characters. We meet characters from other packs and the Hunters are still in evidence which adds a sense of familiarity which is very engaging. Kenzie's twin had been a turned wolf for 5 or so years but had not told her so it was a surprise to her to wake as a wolf. As his wife lay dying, Evan last act had been to turn Kenzie in order to save her life. Kenzie had conflicting feelings about Damien upon regaining consciousness but ultimately succeeded in escaping his reach while she sought answers to her sister's murder. Entertaining action all the way!

I loved this story. It's very well written and described. I love the world of wolves. All the characters are very well done and real. Kinzie is strong, feisty and very brave. Damien is hard, honourable and devoted to his clan. Their meeting is clashing chemistry, hot, sexy and enthralling. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I very highly recommend it. There are plenty of different elements in this story to make this story a real page-turner. This is a wonderful, interesting and hot story.

This was a great story. The Hunters are trying to rid the world of shifters. Kinzie was meeting up with her sister. She was in the car with her sister, brother in law and their driver. Kindle is the only survivor. Damien the alpha of his pack. Kinzie is not a wolf like her sister so she has no clue how it all works. She is strong and independent and does not give into Damien despite being his mate. Will she be able to fit? Will she accept Damien as her mate? This is a fast paced thrill ride.great story.
