THERE WAS NO ESCAPING HIM—OR HER FATE
As a fan of Ms. Delta James' Wayward Mates series, there are many similarities in the storyline, two wolf shifters meeting, realizing they are fated mates, which she will fight, but never wins. But then, beyond how they come together, accept fate, and the relationship, the story is new. This new series, Tangled Vines, will also revolve around vineyards.
I especially liked this addition—the two main characters, Ethan Storm and Marissa Prentiss, who had been lovers. They will be separated by war, and when he comes home, on his way to join up with her, he is attacked, stabbed, and would have died if not for Tyler and Kyle finding him and Tyler giving him his wolf blood to save him.
Ethan: "There is no such things as werewolves."
Kyle: "Technically, you are correct. But we are wolf-shifters, a separate species that evolved alongside humans."
For years, Ethan has been a lone wolf, and Marissa has been poisoned by her father to work with the Hunters—but this is all changing. Ethan is the Alpha of the Otter Creek Pack, and Marissa has wised up to her father and the Hunters. She is now the one hunting them. It is time for Ethan to accept he needs his fated mate, Marissa, and go after her.
Ethan: "So what you're saying is that Marissa is my fated mate."
The plot of the story will be wolf-shifters being attacked by Hunters—but a change is happening. Ethan is wise to the Hunters, and he realizes that it is time to find his fated-mate. He will send a text to Marissa's father and brothers—it is a warning of what is to come.
"The night's work has resulted in a sweeping whirlwind of change. No longer will you hunt my people without consequences. A storm is coming. I am that Storm."

As with these Alpha males, nothing will get in the way when it comes to their fated-mate. Ethan is well aware of Marissa's IT abilities, and when he discovers her using them to take down her prey, it isn't wolves she is after; it is the Hunters. She gets the names from the first one on the list and doesn't plan to kill the others; instead, to hurt them financially—but sometimes things get messy. She didn't expect Ethan to enter her life again—and his timing comes with mixed emotions. The emotions, chemistry, and sexual nature of these two sizzles.
Marissa: "You do realize you're guilty of kidnapping, don't you?"
Ethan: "Perhaps from your current point of view. But I assure you our kind has a long and storied history of alpha wolves bringing their fated mates to heel kicking and snarling the whole way. In the end, you will give over to me once and for all and we will be happy."
Marissa: "For the record, I'm not giving consent. They are not my pack, new or old."

While Marissa did kidnap Shasta to get information, she did not harm her, and the she-wolves have respect for her—and are even willing to help her out. While Ethan was not given an option to be changed, the reality was, it was the only way he would survive the knife attack. Being a lone wolf for years may have seemed like an answer, but being with a pack is critical—finding his fated mate and bringing her to heel is essential. Finally, Marissa is a woman on a mission, one to destroy those who raped and killed her sister, Erin, and her mate—and the last piece of the puzzle will involve taking down her father.
Ethan: “I know you didn’t choose this, Marissa, neither did I. Not becoming wolf and not having you as my fated mate, but I regret neither.”
Marissa: “I know I fought you tooth and nail and I doubt I’ll ever be a quiet, submissive mate, but I don’t fault you for any of it. Not for leaving me, not for staying away, not for claiming me, none of it. I love you, Ethan. I always have and I always will.”

I absolutely loved this book. Ms. James has a knack of pulling the reader into the story and not wanting to put the book down until it is done. I look forward to the next installment of Tangled Vines. Ethan and Marissa's story captured my attention and my heart - they really belong together. The story is beautifully written, engaging, and thought provoking.
Ethan was a human, who was turned into a shifter in order to save his life. He is swoon worthy, a dominate, who believes in domestic discipline. He believes in protecting his fated mate and determined to make Marissa his woman.
Marissa is from a family of hunters; they seek and kill all shifters. She is intelligent and has a heart of revenge, she needs to go after those who raped and killed her sister. Ethan wants her close to him, so she can be protected.
They had been a couple a few years ago, fate has brought them back together and Ethan is ready to mate with Marissa. Will she be willing to be with him or is she so set on revenge?
Breathe is a HEA romance and it is HOT! Have a tall glass of ice water while reading. The story is full of steamy sexual tension, discipline, and passion, along with danger and intrigue right to the very end!

Marissa is a hunter, trying to destroy wolf shifters due to the lies told to her by her father. Once she learns the truth she is determined to destroy the hunters that were responsible for the rape and murder of her sister. Ethan is now a wolf shifter after an attack by her brothers that almost killed him. He was turned in order to save his life, so now the hunters are the hunted. To complicate matters further, Marissa is Ethan's fated mate!
Can these two find a way to get justice and be the fated mates they are meant to be?

This is a truly amazing story! It is fast paced, drama filled and action packed. The story is not only full of suspense and mystery but heartfelt scenes also. Marissa‘s father is a piece of work and has fed her lies about wolf shifters and how her sister really died. She is bound and determined, after finding out the truth, to take down all of The Hunters. As soon as Ethan has turned he knows Marissa this is fated mate. Well these two be able to rekindle they are romance after all of the dust settles?

I really love shifter stories and I love series of shifter books This particular book is a bit of a Second Chance At Love book as well as a shifter romance and I think it is just great I really liked how the H was the h’s man some years back and they get back together again. Also love the action and I love how steamy the story is and there is a really nice HEA

Another sexy and fabulous story in the Tangled Vines series. Marissa and Ethan were lovers years ago while both were in the service. After a deadly mugging, Ethan’s friend turned into a wolf-shifter. Ethan swears he smells Marissa in his hospital room and is told she is his fated mate.
Marissa’s brother and his friends ambush Ethan as he arrives at her apartment building, and take him into the woods to bury him. Ethan escapes and decides to stay away from Marissa for her safety.
Years later Ethan tracks down Marissa to save her from her father’s organization when she turns in her father. He is determined to claim her as his mate and turn her into a wolf. Marissa still loves Ethan, but she’s resistant to being claimed by him yet she fiercely desires him.
Both characters are strong willed and determined to be the victor in the battle of wills. Ethan is determined he is going claim and knot Marissa and work on obtaining her forgiveness and submission afterwards. He is a very dominant alpha who isn’t going to let his fated mate risk herself track down the men responsible for her sister’s rape and murder.
These two have sexual chemistry sufficient to melt your kindle. This is a fairly quick read with plenty of steamy scenes, some spankings to bring Marissa around to Ethan’s perspective and some action/drama to keep the readers interest from beginning to end.

While this may be able to be read as a standalone book, I strongly recommend reading the books in this set in order due to the characters having interconnected storylines and references to events that took place in the previous books.

Another captivating addition to the Tangled Vines series
I have enjoyed everyone of these books they have all been very different in their countenance, the characters and the actual scenarios have also varied greatly so you are always keep guessing as to the final outcome.
Ethan and Marissa had been in love whilst he had been serving in the Marines and she had been a whizz in the cyber world that was currently being used by the military in their fight against all kinds of crime and terrorists.
He was on his final tour and was going to ask her to marry him when everything went to hell and he was nearly killed, saved by his brothers in arm and discovered that he was now a Wolf Shifter.
Then as he had tried to see Marissa her brothers and father had arranged for his murder, hell they even had the hole dug to bury him. Then her sister is murdered and defiled along with her mate in the most barbaric way possible and her father had been one of the people there when it happened, in fact she was to find out later he had actually arranged for Erin’s murder,
This is the final straw and she has a list of the people responsible and she is going to make all six of them pay, she is saving her father till last!!
This is s wonderful read, once started you simply cannot put this book down until you reach the final page.

This highly intriguing 2nd chance shifter romance will keep the reader on the edge of their seat from the first page all the way until the end. It can be read as a standalone while being part of the “Tangled Vine” series. The plot is well-written & entertaining with some intense moments, good scene descriptions & world building. The two main characters are very interesting & they are perfectly flawed to a certain extent due to past events in their lives. The secondary characters offer good support throughout the storyline.

Etan is determined to rectify old mistakes and to claim Marissa as his mate. Unfortunately, his plans do not align with Marissa's revenge plans. After a cat and mouce chase, Ethan manages to bring Marissa home to the pack, but her father is still out there and she won't rest until she brings him down. Marissa is an amazing character, she is strong, smart and brave. Determined to make amends to her action in the past, she is willing to risk her life to do so. What I loved about Ethan was that he recognized these characteristics in her. He knows she is strong and capable, but he can't help but want to protect her and making sure she is safe and happy by his side. They are both great MCs; courageous, loyal and loving, and it was a joy to read their story.

I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Ethan Storm is almost killed in an attack and his friend saves his life by cutting into a vein and dripping his blood into Ethan's mouth. This simple act not only saved Ethan's life, but turned Ethan into a wolf. Ethan makes the choice to walk away from his future with Marissa, the love of his life. Marissa's father is responsible for the death of Marissa's sister and her mate who is also a wolf. For a while Marissa turns into a Hunter - going after wolf shifters, but fate steps in in the form of Shasta - another wolf who is able to convince Marissa of the mistake she's making. Marissa decides to go after her father and the other guys responsible for her sister and brother-in-law's deaths. The journey brings Marissa back into Ethan's sights who now decides, that as Marissa is his fated mate, he wants her by his side. But Marissa is having none of it and time and again she escapes Ethan's "clutches". The battle of wills between these two makes for some addictive reading in the way only Delta James can.
The Tangled Vine series are the most addictive and interesting series I've read in a long time and I recommend any book with Delta James's name on the cover.

Ethan and Marissa have a history together...he is a U.S. Marine and she is Navy intelligence. Wow, each installment in this series just gets better and better. I loved Ethan and Marissa’s story. Ethan and Marissa were in lover and when he was deployed she wanted to beg him not to go. On his way back to the states, he asked her to join him in Germany and when on his way to meet her at the hotel he was mugged, stabbed and should have died, but his friend used his blood in an IV to save his life. Little did.he know that his friend was a wolf shifter and now he too was a wolf. Marissa waited for Ethan to come home, but when he didn’t show up she fell into her father’s stories of shifters and helped the hunters with her hacking skills. When she discovers her father was behind her sisters brutal murder, she turns on the Hunters and starts to get revenge for her sister. A fast paced story with plenty of danger, suspense, revenge, lust, control, passion and ultimately surrender. I loved both f the characters they were strong, fiercely independent, protective and very alpha. Can’t wait for more in this series.

Another "Must Read" from Delta James....Getting back from a deployment, Ethan was mugged in Germany. 'Breathe' is the third book in Delta James' "Tangled Vines" series and is just as fast-moving and engaging as all those that have come before it. If you haven't started the series yet, it would be my recommendation to start at the beginning even though each book contains enough information to stand on its own. Ethan was completely human when he and Marissa began their relationship while they were in the military. One mistake on a mission put Ethan in jeopardy and Fate took over. There are twists and turns these two must go through along with their own trials turning their love story into a second chance romance. The underlying plot involving "The Hunters" runs seamlessly throughout the entire series keeping the tension in the forefront and the mystery of who heads this organization is still unknown. Delta James has the innate ability to write such heartfelt, relatable, sizzling storylines with characters that pull me in every time. In my opinion, this is a must-read book and a series that has kept me engrossed from the beginning.

I liked getting Ethan and Marissa's back story. I also liked the way Marissa was exacting her revenge. I understood why Ethan backed away, but thought he could have reached out in some form or fashion way before he actually did.
Marissa's acceptance of the situation was much quicker and easier than some of the bore female wolf shifters.
This was an ok read, but it seemed to lack some of the excitement, edginess, and suspense I have come to expect. I was surprised that Marissa never actually connected with the one person who was singing her praises.
I also expected to get more detail on Ethan's escapades. I even expected a more in depth conversation with Kyle about what Kyle wanted Ethan to do. It seemed like so many issues were glossed over with minimal details.
A quick read that made me want more from this book.

Marissa intends to destroy the lives of the men who had raped and murdered her sister, including their father. Erin, her sister, was a wolf shifter and she was killed by a group of Hunters, who want to destroy all shifters. Of course, the men of the wolf packs decide that she needs to be rescued. Marissa doesn't need to be rescued, she wants to be left alone to finish her retribution. But, Ethan Storm is a past love and when he was made a wolf shifter to save his life, he realized then that Marissa was his fated mate. Six years later, he finally decides that he needs to claim her. The result is a very entertaining story.
Delta James is one of my favorite authors. I really enjoy the stories she writes about shifters. I can't wait for the next two books in this series.

Ethan Storm is ready to settle down with the love of his life, Marissa Prentiss, when he is mugged and nearly killed. In order to save him, one of his men gives him his life blood and turns him to a wolf shifter. Marissa and her family, with the exception of her sister, are Hunters, whose mission it is to annihilate the wolf shifter community. Ethan realizes that Marissa is his fated mate and goes after her when her life is in danger, to bring her back to the vineyard where he is Alpha.
This series just keeps getting better. Ethan and Marissa really are meant to be together, and their HEA is a sweet one. There is plenty of Delta James' trademark spice. Beautifully written, this would be a six star book if I could.

Marissa is out to take revenge for the murder of her sister and slowly marks off each man’s name as she takes them down. In the meantime, Ethan is searching for his mate but it is no easy process. Both Ethan and Marissa are strong willed individuals who butt heads often but end up together as mates. This is a great continuation of the story as more of the hunters are eliminated. The story is full of danger and romance at the same time as Marissa tries to come to term with her future. Great story, fun read and definitely worth your time. I highly recommend this book along with the previous books in this series.

This is the 3rd book in the Tangled Vines series. This is Ethan and Marissa’s story. Their relationship goes way back, but due to unforeseen circumstance they parted. Betrayed and lied to by her own father, the hunter has just become the hunter of the Hunters! Now she is on the hunt for all the people (who she once belonged too) the ones that murdered and raped her sister. Now Marissa’s life is in danger enter Ethan who is determined to find her, protect and turn her as she is his Fated Mate! This is a very fast paced and well written story that features a lot of passionate scenes. Loved it.

This book did not disappoint. Ethan and Marissa’s story was a great one. It was a story of betrayal, redemption, a second chance at love and an HEA. What I loved best about this book was the overarching theme of forgiveness. Whether it was between humans a and wold shifters or Ethan and Marisa, I loved that everyone could get past their mistakes and be able to move on. This books had it all: action-packed, suspense, a romance that just did not die, a feisty heroine and a determined mate! Great story. I can hardly wait until the next book comes out in this very successful series!

But after yrs apart how will he find and convince his mate 2 b mated 4 life in their future? After a she finds out sum serious things and find out what's really true and false she plans things but will it b enough 2 help her with her loss? Read and decide 4 urself. I still don't understand about the title of these books in this series cause this 1 doesn't have much 2 do with the book I don't think but I could b wrong...

Ethan is mugged and left for dead when he wakes up in the hospital with two of his two close friends in his military unit, and told he has been turned to a wolf shifter in order to save his life. His love Marissa has been manipulated by her father to hunt the shifters and their worlds collide again. I am enjoying this super great series. I love the chemistry and sexy scenes between the primary characters and the appearances of prior stories characters. I am voluntarily leaving my review of this ARC.

Once again we are drawn into a wonderful action packed story but this time one women is after the Hunters who hunt the wolves. She has been lied to, and now its time to take revenge for her sister. Only one man can and will stop her. He is known as the Ghost. He was once a reneguard, but now he Alpha of a pack. He let her go once and now hes going to claim her. She is his fated mate and he will take her over his knee and spank her, knot her and mark her as his.

I love wolf shifters and this author. Wonderful read. This book is very well written and described. It is not really for the feint hearted as there is some violence but there is also lots of hot erotic sexy scenes and other elements to hold the readers interest. I loved both Marissa and Ethan, they are sweet and hot together. All the characters are real and rounded. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I very highly recommend it. Sometimes you have to fight for right and the life you want.

Loved the book it was great, this whole series has been written well. Ethan was human and was brought back to life after a horrible situation by his good friend. Marissa loves Ethan but her head was not in the game when her sister was killed by a shifter, Marissa ended up joining the group of hunters that were out to kill the Shifters. Ethan wants Marissa his heart belongs to her and she has always loved him, can they be together? What will she do if she finds out Ethans secret?
