If we knew that Spring Break on a tropical island would turn deadly, would we have still gone? That’s the question I’ve asked myself for two years. We came from the richest families in the world. We were supposed to be invincible. But the week we partied on Zion Island, the world was ravaged by a nuclear war.
In the two years since, I’ve made Zion Island a safe haven. I lost people who loved me. I made a home for hundreds who hate me. I built a pharmaceutical empire that gives hope to future generations. Being a king is a solitary journey. To avoid insanity, I have to keep my mind at peace.
But then I meet her. Katura Ortiz. A beautiful spy, sent to my island by a Russian mobster. Her name is abrasive. She is abrasive. She makes me angry, gets under my skin, goes against the grain. But I can’t get her out of my mind.
With all the money poured into this island, the place is a tropical gilded cage. But she… She is a breath of fresh air. And now her cover is blown. So guess what? She is my prisoner. She wanted to play? We’ll play. By my rules. Welcome to Zion, wild thing...
* It is strongly recommended to read Outcast (Ruthless Paradise #1) and Petal (Ruthless Paradise #2) prior to reading Chancellor (Ruthless Paradise # 3) to better understand Zion's history and the chemistry between the characters. The book ends on a cliffhanger and contains situations for mature readers only.
Dose this author pays all for your 5stars review? Or are you all just sexist and as long as a selfish hypocrite judgemental manipulative narcissistic bitch gets what she wants you all are cool with it?
Be warned...it does end on a cliff.. This was a book that had me wondering if this couple would make it into my top faves but as the story progressed they did.. It was angsty and steamy and lexi has a way of ending the story on a cliff in such a way that makes me mad that i have to wait but also not...Ugh frustrated! That i have to wait if you know what i mean. Its an ending that makes you need more but also makes you satisfied. I dont know how its done but this author has the talent. The only thing i had with this was the story got a tad confusing with finding the russian daughter and that whole plot but other than that it was awesome. I also loved kai and archer's relationship and I'm so glad they're working it out. They remind me a lot of will and damon in killswitch who i also loved. I cant wait to read the next book, i need archer and kat's hea. I loved/hated the ending. It was so heartbreaking. I hurt so much for archer. I hope kat makes up for it because she said some really awful stuff to him. She reminded me a lot of emory in nightfall by Penelope douglas...very harsh and steely, not that she hasnt lived a life that has made her into that person but it sucks when she gets treated right and only knows how to respond with bitterness. It sucks for the guy. Anyway...highly recommend after reading the first two books...and novella.❤️
Oh that ending killed me!! I didn't think I would care about the cliffhanger that I knew was at the end but this book sucked me in and now I would very much like to continue the series. I honestly loved this book more than I thought I would. This is the first book I read in this series despite it being 3rd in line so I didn't know the characters beforehand, however, the book does well in describing the important aspects of all relevant characters and even though I was aware of missing their histories, the context is enough to piece together the dynamics in order to understand and stay within the story. Archer is not the most lovable guy, granted, but the book does well to paint the picture of his life enough to kinda get a sense of why he is the way he is. He's not the first nor the last male lead to be a fuckboy who starts to care about a certain woman more than usual. I liked Kat as well but her age of 19 is just a blaring neon sign on why she acts the way she does. Her emotional range is a rollercoaster and her age is not even that drastically below Archer's but I personally imagine her as a 21/22yo because 19 just does not sit right with me, not for her life experience, nor for her sexual experience. Although the book is a dystopian setting, the main focus is Archer and Kat and that's why I stuck to it through the end. Reading about their dynamic with each other is as magnetizing as they are to each other. I really want to know what happens next with them and if Margot gets a slap on the face (physical/theoretical either or) because she needs one so badly to have done what she did to Kat. Definitely written to be disliked and the author achieves this sentiment quite thoroughly through her writing. I don't think I'll read the previous two books in the series but I definitely want to read the fourth and last book to know how it all ends and if it's a happy ending for Kat and Archer!
Ruthless paradise is becoming an obsession, dystopian romance mixed with a billionaire and workplace trope. What more could you want? A strong FMC set to bring the chancellor, leader of the Island to his knees. We met both Archer and Kat in the first two books so we knew it would keep us on our toes. I loved the angst, the spice and the suspense of the cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see where Lexi takes us next.
I did like this book more that the second one (this is number three) but I still didn’t really like it. It felt like the only plot development happened at the end when the author wanted to end on a cliffhanger.
I also am finding it really difficult to empathise with the main guy (archer) because it just seems like a spoilt rich guy. I acknowledge that he is traumatised from his family’s death and I don’t want to make that seem like I don’t care about that. But all he complains about is the literal paradise of an island that he is on. He complains about how the job is stressing him out but apart from telling us this, it isn’t shown in any other circumstance. Like he barely works. I feel like I would emotionally connect if his main personal struggle was his loss of family not his hatred for the island. Also I wish he respected women a bit more. All his relationship with Kat feels incredibly sexual (which is okay if that isn’t the only thing keeping the relationship together), but where is the love and devotion you have when you are obsessed with this person. I acknowledge that there is a bit there but I just wanted more. I wanted archer to change his awful habits and foul language towards people and women to fully respect and appreciate Kat as a woman and not as a sex toy.
Kat I feel I’m getting to know better with her trauma in Thailand which I enjoy getting a backstory on her. It also makes me understand her character and the way she responds. I don’t really enjoy her irrational outbursts but I guess that’s just human.
I very much do not understand their relationship, like just communicate? It’s not that hard. Don’t be so stubborn. It’s not doing anything for your relationship.
Overall I felt the book was again just solely centred around the sexual relationship between the two main characters and it lacked in logic in the way that these people respond as well lacked in plot development.

When I first started this book it took me a bit to get into it, not going to lie I almost didn’t think I’d be able to like it. But I don’t not finish a book, so I continued on & I’m so glad I did! Before I knew it I was so into it I couldn’t flip the page quick enough! This was definitely unlike any book I’ve read before, but it was also refreshing to read something different. This book is definitely an angsty read, & the cliffhanger ending will leave you speechless & jaw on the floor. Archer & Kat have excellent chemistry, but both are strong willed & as Archer is trying to tell himself it’s just s3x w/her, she’s trying to not fall at his feet every time he calls. But both are failing miserably at keeping it just s3x. There’s definitely feelings involved for these 2, & that was evident when Archer tries to surprise Kat & because of a certain pink haired Medusa causing problems, the evening was ruined when Kat stood him. Then before they could straighten things out, Medusa did something yet again to cause trouble, which made it look like Archer betrayed Kat. And at the same moment, Archer gets the worst possible news that rocks his world. To make matters worse, before he can even explain anything to Kat, she unleashes on him & walks away, which makes Archer do something that leads to the killer cliffhanger!! This was my first book I’ve read by Lexi, & yes it’s the 3rd in the series & I did feel a little lost at the beginning because I didn’t know the backstory & other characters. But I’m defiantly going back to read book 1- I finish book 4- which I’m doing now!!
You did it again. I am captivated by this couple. Our FMC and MC are so (inserted aggressive cuteness bite from me)
I love that they try to make it seem like they aren't a big deal even though that's truly what they want. They just are so . . . love deprived that they don't realize it or so stubborn that they don't see it for what it is (then again . . . there are many of us that can stare at love right in the eyes and not see it for what it is).
I just want to smack them upside their heads, but since I can't I'll just giggle at them.
MY personal opinion (not many may agree) I love how this story, this couple follows the story line from the first series and doesn't go off in a different direction as many do. I love how Lexi Ray has managed to keep true to her story line and then have her characters develop as if you personally know them.
Could not stop reading the story. So Excited for the next book in the series
After reading the outcast and petal i never knew that archer will become my favorite but guess what it happend!! shocking right !! no it's not, definitely not!! when you read chancellor you'll know what i mean. i liked it when we saw a glimpse before what everything happend i liked the little fights of katura and archer, the spice, archer getting soft, how strong katura is. i just LOVED this book chancellor became my fav in the series and ruthless paradise was and is becoming more and more one of my top series can't wait for the next book !!! the surprise at the end made me speechless since i was in the middle of crying and was preparing myself to cry more lol you'll know what i mean when you read the book if you didn't read it what are you waiting for !!!!! a book about the big ruthless boss going soft for our strong female and our female who's on her way to make the boss beg for her and calling her my queen in russian

This series is an addiction. After following Kai and Callies story, I was more then ready to read Archer and Katuras story. There is more backstory/history in this book especially for Archer and more of the relationship between Archer and Kai. We also get to know more about Zion and its make up. I liked having these added details because it draws you into Archer. He was the bad guy I wanted to hate but now.... not so sure I do. I understand him more. With Kat we learn more about her and her backstory as well. Honestly she was a very minor character for me in the first two books but I really like her now and can't wait for more. They both need and use each other for their needs but end up being pulled into each other making for some steamy scenes. And the end?!?!?! Let's say I seriously hope the next book comes out really soon!!
this book was everything i wanted and needed it to be. it drove me mad how archer and kat couldn’t communicate but archer still kept trying. i love seeing archer being shown in less of a villainous light, his good side appearing and kat bringing some out of him. i love reading how hard archer falls for kat. i just wish she would express how she feels back to him. at the end i was in physical pain when kat wouldn’t let him explain what happened during cece’s party. i was in ruins trying to get through it. it ended on a cliffhanger so i cant wait to devour the next book asap. my heart is in shambles and i am frustratingly unwell, please read this book
It was alright I guess, I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. The spice was spicing and the idiots were idioting. So many times I was telling the characters to grow up in my head and struggled to pick this up, hence it taking almost 2 months for me to finish and it's only a short book.
I will say that this book touches on addiction, DV and SA quite heavily and the representation of mental health is quite good. I was sympathetic towards some of the situations in this book and the personal battles they faced.
I only have one more book until I've finished the series so I need to keep going right?
Ok so I love Archer. I didn't think I was going to but shesh! I mean he is an alpha a hole. But deep down he is a hopeless romantic just wanting to be loved. He is perfect in the bedroom. Love me a pleasing man. 🥵. I still don't like Kat even though he's obsessed with her. I actually really really really love Marlow. I wish we had a book just for him. The ending though holy shit! Poor Archer. The guy can't catch a break. Overall favorite book in the series so far.

Wow! Archer and Kat's first book was fire. This may be my favorite book so far in this series and I loved the first two. Archer and Kat are completely different and at times their relationship seems to be described as putting gas on a fire. The cliffhanger has me not wanting to wait for the next book!
I absolutely loved all the book but I think this one is my favorite. You go from hating Archer to loving him, and the sweet, loving vulnerable side he doesnt show to anyone. I cant wait for the next book in the series because the cliffhanger had my freaking out!!
I stumbled upon this series and in three days I'm through it. It's like lord of the flies meets lost with a twist of desperate housewives and Dynasty. For the love of Pete, when is the next book out?!? Someone please clue me in!
I probably would of waited to read this if I had known it was a cliffhanger but.... so worth it! Definitely an emotional roller coaster! If you like books with dark edges, this is it. I am super excited for Wild Thing!
This is the third book in the Ruthless Paradise series. Lexi has done an Amazing job with this series. I feel like with each book you get more and more invested in the story and characters. Amazing work! Can't wait to read more from Lexi Ray in the future.
When I read this book I was really in the mood for a spicy book. This definetly is a spicy book. I also didn't realise that it was a serie, so it was kind of confusing sometimes. At the time I really enjoyed it.
It took time leading up to this book, but I finally started to like Archer. Thankfully. The end was sad, so looking forward to how it goes in the next book. So much has already happened in Archer and Katura's story. Snake bites, hidden feelings, betrayals, death what else could happen??
Finally, the side I had been waiting for. Mr chancellor is getting soft and feeling. The end has me in quite the panic! Falling for the villain, I can not wait until the next book!
