June, club president of the Lipstick & Leather Nebraska prospecting chapter, wants nothing more than to run her crew and forget what she left behind, but when her past comes back to haunt her, a new threat follows, painting a target on her and her chapter's backs.
Each Lipstick & Leather chapter is a standalone Contemporary Reverse Harem Romance set in a shared world where ladies ride hard and shatter glass ceilings.
June is a WhyChoose/Reverse Harem standalone featuring MMFMMMM meaning there is M/M content and the female main character doesn't have to choose between her love interests. Please note, this is part of the Lipstick and Leather MC Shared Universe, but can be read on its own/in any order
This book contains references involving PTSD, sexual assault recollections, violence, and other themes that some readers may find triggering.
USA Today Bestselling Author A.J. Macey has an addiction to coffee, cats, and swearing. Sucks at adulting and talking to people, so she'll frequently be lost in a book or running away with her imagination when she's not spending time with her husband, daughter, or two cats Thor and Loki. A.J. has a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and previous coursework in Forensic Science, Behavioral Psychology, and Cybersecurity. Before becoming an author, A.J. worked as a Correctional Officer in a jail where she met her husband. She started writing just for fun when she was little and continued to create stories for years until finally sitting down to finish and publish a book in 2018!
Wasn't doing it for me, unfortunately. I couldn't work out why I was supposed to like any of the MMCs, or, why the supposedly tough, MC President, FMC was being pushed into intimacy by several of them with very little resistance. Possibly down to the limitations of a standalone, where you don't the get the depth of characterisation that you would in a series? But yeah, not for me.
Do check out the author's other series that includes a MC crew, that is a great set of books, with a fantastic FMC.
I thought that this one would potentially be my favourite in the series, but I am sad to say that I am a bit disappointed with the experience. This story primarily focuses mainly on the FMC and her love interests rather than her role as an MC president. It was a bit chaotic with the guys, some of them are new encounters whereas others make a reappearance in her life and frankly, there are just way too many gentlemen to juggle. The emotional side of things was there, but only in regard to people she had previously known. All in all, this was an alright read, just did not quite worked for me.

June is president of a Nebraska chapter of LLMC. Lucien comes to her, in her club, to discuss a truce and partnership. There is a history of bad blood between his *Family* and her MC. The McCoys keep interrupting her business, including a meeting with the Savage Kings. While June wants a partnership for business purposes with the Savage Kings, the McCoys want June (the father and the sons). Then her exes, another crime Family, are involved. Everyone wants a piece of June, either for fun or for ownership or to use. How will she get away from 2 of them while also not upsetting the 7 she does want?
A mix of Motorcycle Club and Mafia romance with all of my favorite tropes. Standalone RH’s are typically not my favorite since it’s hard to really get to understand the main characters when there are so many of them and only one book. But A.J. Macey did a fantastic job personalizing each MC! And that spice! Phew!
This book is actually 3.5 stars for me. There are too many MMC’s in this book. This book is a stand alone so we don’t get much more than a surface knowledge of the life of each of the men and MFC. It is well written and the pacing is good.
