Maria Tshivhidzo is torn between the man she thought would make a perfect husband and the one who makes her heart tick. Luzuko Bhengu seems to tick all the boxes of a husband she has prayed for but the mutual attraction between her and Njabulo Buthelezi is unquestionable. It gets complicated when more than two hearts are involved.
Njabulo believes nothing about love and red roses but when he finally engages with a good-hearted woman–who has always been in front of his eyes–all these non-beliefs fly out of the window. He falls hard in love and leaves his partner to pursue the woman who captured his heart. When Luzuko unearths an affair between Maria and Njabulo, he brews a deadly battle to destroy it and his psychotic behavior puts people in danger.
Although Luzuko’s crazy was a bit extreme and when that was being resolved I may have felt that the rest of the chapters were know being filled with words that don’t add any value to the story. Perhaps going into the trauma Maria experienced in the months she was abducted through therapy and seeing a resolution in Njabulo and Tinyiko’s co-parenting situation could have been the additional stars needed to make this an excellent book but having said that, I’m yet to be disappointed by this author’s stories

I love this. I love a slow burn. This my first SA romance novel and I don’t like to dwell on how the story could’ve went,I just like that she kept it realistic. Njabulo is charming for a Zulu man even though some tendencies were telling in some scenes. I would love to see writers like these write for South African shows because SA has lost its touch with these corny shows. 4.5⭐️
This was a lovely read, storyline similar to that of Her Silent Screams by Busisekile Khumalo. Girl falls in love, gets kidnapped, lover moves on ( expecting a baby), 1 baby later they find the girl, love rekindled and they live happily ever after. Emotional drama in-between.
