More than Best Friends #2

More Than A Rumor

Rate this book

He knows.

Rumors in a small town always spread faster when they’re a lie.

At least that’s what Regan had always experienced. Before her dad finds out about her forbidden romance with her best friend Lane. Before she’s told she can never see him again. Before she locks herself in her room and starts falling deeply.

Only not in love this time.

But depression.

Lane never imagined his romance with Regan would land him getting kicked out of her house and out of her life. He’ll do anything to get her back. Even cut a secret deal with her dad. But the guilt and new music opportunities increase their separation.

With her dad’s never-ending anything but marine science barrage, Lane’s new interests at college, and Regan’s friends growing tired of her incessant complaining, she finds herself feeling isolated and alone.

Lane and her dreams have never felt so far away.

And the darkness never so near.

More Than a Rumor is the third book in the More Than Best Friends saga. A darker, more introspective look at our two favorite friends-to-lovers. Fans of angsty coming-of-age tales will be gripped in suspense as small-town rumors bring Regan and Lane’s slow-burn romance crashing down, leaving them to pick up the pieces alone.

After receiving a complementary copy of "More Than Each Other" by Sally Henson in exchange for an honest review, I am more than happy to say how much I really love this story. This is book 3 of the story - so if you haven't had a chance to experience the first 2... go back and grab copies of those as well as this one. Each book is a continuation of the last and leave you on the edge of your seat to see where the story is going to take you. So... what do I love so much about this story. I like the innocence of the characters and the wholesome yet raw depiction of these teenage characters trying to tackle life and love and not lose themselves in the process. I find the writing of this author to very very fresh and I look forward to reading the next one to see where the story takes us.
This is a great addition to any book lover's collection - especially those who like the "clean romance/YA" genre.
Happy Reading...enjoy!

Regan and Lane have been friends forever. This story follows Regan as she navigates her last year of high school while Lane is navigating his first year of college after they decide to break the rule and become more than friends. Regan's dad is overbearing while the mother sits back and tries not to take sides. Lane's parents are much more supportive. Really loved this story about real-life issues when dating your best friend becomes a reality.

What happens next!?!?

I read this in one sitting! I’ve really enjoyed this series! It’s been such a cute read. I’m left curious about several things and I’m so sad to think it might just end up hurting their relationship. I’m anxious to see what happens next!

Book three leaves off after Book 2 (More Than A Kiss), Regan returns home from seeing Lane at EIU and was caught giving Lane a kiss goodbye! The town gossip Stacey of course lets the town know all about it and it gets by to Regan's father. Mr Stone makes such a big deal out of it that he grounds her and forbids her from seeing Lane. Not only that he forbids her from going to the college of her dreams and from studying her major. He dad was really getting on my nerves. He even makes a deal with Lane, IF Lane wants to see her (on weekends) he has to do something that could eventually tear Regan and Lane apart. Talk about dirty. Lane also has a few things happen in his life that are both exciting and well not! His nice guy personality gets him in a sticky situation and of course Loose lips Stacey gossips to Regan first chance she gets. Lane and Regan have a lot to work through. Also the G5 gang go through some major growing pains that will test their friendship! Let's hope they can make it through!

This story just keeps getting better with unexpected turns. There are so many things that are just wow in this book. Facing Regan's dad is so scary for both Regan and Lane. Regan's dad's response is crazy even for him. Regan's life seems to crumple beneath her between her parents, school, G5 and Lane. I liked that this book followed Regan through a depressing time and showed how she got there . All her issues are things that can happen to anyone and although some people have worst or bigger issues everyone faces in their personal lives.
I 100% recommend reading this book because you will laugh, cry and have fun. I can't wait to read the next book...I have a feeling Regan's brother might make an appearance.

I was thrilled to continue reading this series to see how Regan and Lane would be with their relationship out in the open. I was not prepared for all the drama that ensued! Families with big dreams for their children always have strong opinions, and it was no different for Regan's parents. While I didn't agree with everything they did, I could understand where they were coming from. This was a sweet and well-written story of love and keeping secrets. I highly recommend to fans of clean YA romance.

Starting where the first book left off, this book is filled with emotion and passion. Highs and lows and such a roller coaster ride. It was phenomenal. I literally picked it up and didn't put it down until I was done. I cannot wait to read the last book and see what happens with these love birds.

Such a cute book with moments that make you want to cry and moments that make you want to laugh. Ended on a good note but I feel like there’s something major coming in the next book
