Or, I was a gypsy. Now, I’m not really sure what I am.
What I do know is that I’m in trouble.
That’s the reason why I’m in the process of moving to Haven Hollow: because I need the safety and protection only a hollow can offer.
After a witch named Indigo walked into my occult shop and literally blew up, her soul affixed itself to mine, and now I’m basically possessed.
To make matters worse? Whoever was responsible for Indigo going ‘boom’ knows she’s not exactly dead and gone.
Which means he’s now after me.
As if I didn’t have enough on my plate with a divorce that’s been dragging out for the last three years, and a struggling business.
Now, I’m just trying to stay alive.
Good thing my realtor, the very sexy Angelo Stendham, is looking out for me because I know nothing about this world of supernatural monsters of which I’m now a member.
J.R. Rain is the author of 110 novels and counting. He lives on an island in the Pacific Northwest, where he's hard at work on his next novel... and fighting off sparkly vampires.
Welcome back to the hollow where the magical community is tight knit and for Lydia she was ready for a brand new start where noone knew her and where she might get her book store up and running again. But like with everything in life things don't always go as planned . Lydian is a gypsy and well honestly she also has a witch living in her body with her and an ex that is driving her crazy and now she is trying to stay alive . Angelo is the one thing that is there to help her out and when she is taken and almost sold at a supernatural black market auction. Things won't be the same when the gang from Haven Hollow come to the rescue. Well when you think you couldn't have a new read in a series poof we get a new book with new characters to add to the universe . In this book we get to meet Lydia and Indigo a gypsy and a witch that are trapped together in Lydia's body after something horrific happens . Lydia is well she is a wall flower who seems to be having the worse time of her life. She doesn't really know what or who she is but when push comes to shove she is a fighter. Angelo is back and yes he is still as cocky as ever but we actually get to see a different side to him. A side that isn't all for show and isn't trying to bed every woman in town, he is an incubus so it is easy for him . Fifi and the gang are back to help find Lydia and save her. It is great to see the characters we love become more complex you just fall for them even more and Angelo is fast becoming one of those characters that you will fall in love with. This is one of those reads that you can sit down and read in an afternoon. The characters are well loved its like going back home to greet them all. Haven Hollow is like one of those small towns that you just drive through and fall in love with. Even with the supernatural beings that are living there . The authors are always finding ways to expand the universe but always keeping it centered on the Hollow and its residents . The characters are well written and you see them evolve and grow through each story that is told . Reading each book is like going home to see friends and family. If you want a fun read check out this series , you will have a fun time . Great for your fall reading list
Picked up as a standalone not realizing it... wasn't. While I totally appreciate that you do NOT rehash the entirety of the previous stories because as a reader of series, the regurgitation of information gets very old... but when I saw it was #1 in Occult Oddities, I thought it WAS #1 in a series and not realizing that it's part of a longer series. Oh well.
It was cute. Solid 2.5 stars. Nothing deep. I would say close to a cozy. Felt like a very elementary read. Though it could have been a dark situation, it was kept quite benign... especially when you're talking about demons and witches.
The ending was yawn worthy. But I guess that will help keep the series going for another 32 books?
Enchanted Emporium: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Novel: (Occult Oddities) (Haven Hollow Book 26)
Enchanted Emporium: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Novel: (Occult Oddities) (Haven Hollow Book 26) I really like Lydia the gypsy/witch and Checkers the oversized cat familiar, but to be honest I am so excited that Angelo finally has a story about him and his POV in a Haven Hollow book! Definitely recommend this book 📕!!! I can't believe Poppy has s cousin... More family
Mallory & Rain have done a fantastic job weaving a world that is always entertaining and fun! I enjoyed meeting new characters and seeing the development of a new shop in the Hollow ~ Occult Oddities.
I'm looking forward to delving a little more in these two womens' backgrounds and seeing how another gypsy will fit into the community (and Coven, hopefully?) I'm betting Darla will be able to give some much-needed perspective here!
I must admit the character of Angelo intrigues me. He is a bit underhanded and naughty but acknowledges that of himself. He seems pretty self aware except for his kindness which he tries to hide. Lydia is new of Haven Hollow and is in trouble. It was a delight to have Angelo and Fifi work together. Lydia is such a wonderful addition to the series and opens up so much potential.
With this book comes a new character to our beloved Haven Hollow series! This was a great book! I read it in one evening. I really like all the new characters & I’m really looking forward to seeing how their stories progress!
This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was fun, fast-paced and kept me reading. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books in this series as well as other books by these authors.
I really enjoyed this one. As the 32nd in the Haven Hollow series, it was fun to meet a new character and have Angelo become a main character in this arc. Checkers is the best. I'll be curious to see how these character's stories play out.
Enchanted Emporium is the first book in the Occult Oddities, a spin-off of the Haven Hollow series. We are introduced to Lydia, a gypsy, who is soon to make her home in Haven Hollow. She’s attached to a witch who entered her occult shop, was blown up, and took refuge in Lydia. This makes her the target of some undesirables. Having made a connection to Angelo Stendham, her Haven Hollow realtor, she finds safety with him, which is a good thing since the supernatural world is new to her.
Enchanted Emporium is another fantastic and fun novel in the Haven Hollow series. I really enjoyed meeting Lydia, learning about her, and watching her navigate her new reality. I loved the story, characters, setting, and writing.
The Haven Hollow series by J.R. Rain and H.P. Mallory is excellent, and the Occult Oddities spin-off is a fantastic addition. This writing duo brings interesting stories, intriguing characters, and thought-provoking mysteries to life. The character development provides history and growth, and the world-building creates a fantastic world to watch the characters grow and evolve.
Such great new additions to the Hollow! And FINALLY Angelo gets to be a main character! Lydia and Checkers were very pleasant surprises. Just when you think you've seen it all Mallory and Rain throw some curveballs at ya!
