Twenty-five years ago I looked my doctor in the eye while he told me the worst news of my life. My final chance to prove that I could be a bearer for my drake was over, and I would be repudiated... marked barren. My drake said it himself, he'd turn me out and find another dette, so I made that choice for him and I ran away bearing two small blank eggs that I laid in suffering silence. For but a moment I hoped they'd be viably sized, but no.
Having no other choice, I abandoned them and hid myself away in the mountains, joining the wild dragons.
Still even now, all these years later, I have dreams about the only drake I found worthy. Even my dragon refuses to mate any other. Springtime comes and a scent of cinnamon catches me on the breeze, my fire-headed lover. "Sacha!" I want him so much, but I don't deserve him. He comes to me with nestblossoms and sweet words, taking me and the wild pups I've fostered into his forgiving arms and he tells me the saddest and most wonderful news. In his hands is a strange new device, something I've not seen before, a tiny computer, and it's filled with pictures of a small dette. "Leo," he tells me.
Will I get my second chance? Will my pup understand why I abandoned him? Can I forgive myself?

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book and learning what happened to Leo‘s parents Gabriel and Sacha. Sacha has learned of a sighting of Gabriel in the wild lands, Sacha flies out to discover if Gabriel is there and his dragon find him straight away. But he has to hatchlings with him and his heat is about to start. Sacha convinces Gabriel to be his mate and return to his home and promises to keep the hatchlings as well. But they learn that Leo’s brother is still alive and now they are searching for him all while Gabriel finally has a successful eggnancy as Leo called it. The story finishes with knowledge of their long lost child.

New author to me which is always exciting. I feel like each installment of this series is that much more developed. In the world building, plots, character development, and just the basic flow and how everything that pulls a story together is more with each book. The POV’s tend to switch around quickly but once you get used to the style it flows easy. I don’t always like that but I love it here because LQ does it so well and sometimes another characters perspective is necessary to pull everything together. I love how we’re still getting page time with some MC’s from previous books-it helps everything relate better and you don’t see that often in series. Their characters continue to develop beyond their debut. Gabe and Sascha are easy to fall in with. A great second chance love story with a tiny bit of angst and medium-high heat that doesn’t overtake the plot. They get their start on their happily ever after earlier on and there’s no long drawn out dramas or misunderstandings. You get a lot of page time with them as a happy growing couple and family and long overdue family reunions. You won’t spend this book yelling at MC’s to pull their heads out already. On to book 4😁
"Hallr’s face contorted into a mixture of pain, amusement, and disgust, all playing havoc..."
"Hallr’s face contorted into a mixture of pain, amusement, and disgust, all playing havoc across his face."
At the core of this series is Leo, an orphan with a caring heart, and a profound desire to have a family of his own.
In the previous book he met one of his parents, and challenged them to find the other one after finding out how things had been left between the two.
It's not that Leo isn't happy, or can't accept one parent... this remarkable character has a way of bringing out the best in all around him, a desire to heal others, and their relationships, and he genuinely wants all of his family... and seems to believe each person has it in themselves to do their part to make things right. To grow, to compromise, to apologize... it makes for a great story, across books, and decades.
After being a bit disappointed with some of Dette Management, this book is back to the standard of Deep In Dette, though it could do with a bit more editing and proofreading as could the others. I was happy to see Leo's parents getting their HEA, but equally pleased to get lots more Leo and Hallr and their adorable pups, Leicester, new pups and more eggs, and a special pleasure was seeing Leo's influence on the formerly reserved and demure Shui! He made my day, and I loved his son too. I adored learning about Leo's early years too and need to see more of Greg, who was an absolute sweetheart. After all that happened in this book, I'm excited to what comes next. I hope that Lilo has lots more books planned in this series because there are characters that I want to know more about.
The pacing of this book started off really good and then I kept getting tripped up on whose POV I was reading or who was saying what. I don't know why it is so hard for me to read but I feel like if you're labeling a chapter with a character's name, it should only be told from their perspective but instead the book is told in third person omniscient. Anyway, I am sure all the books in this series will be that way so for the next two books, I won't harp on it. Beyond this issue for me, I enjoyed the story. I am liking how they are all intertwining but since there are only two more stories, I'm not sure we will see everyone's happy endings or if everything will feel complete at the end. I like the snarky dettes and the drakes that put up with and love them.
Settling His Dette is the third book in this series and follows dragon mates, Sasha and Gabriel. This book has everything you could need in a good story, great characters, high heat, all the feels, dragon shifters, and egg pregnancy. The book was well written and has good world-building, but it does take some time to get used to the titles used. I loved the adorable dragon babies. Overall it was a really good read and looking forward to reading more stories in the series. It did feel like this book should be before number 2 in the series.

Outstanding! Gabriel, made a decision that he thought was what his mate Sacha wanted. The consequences affected more than Gabe and did not produce the results he expected. He was devestated by his news and went off on his own. Sacha found him over 20 years later, but he was not alone. This was a good story that grabbed you by the heart and squeezed. We got to see Leo and Hallr and the influence Leo has on the community. Can Gabe reconnect with everyone? Can Sacha find explanations? Really good story. Many questions answered and a few more asked. The babies are delightful and the Dettes are amazing! Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It is Gabriel and Sacha's story and I enjoyed it. Gabriel fled from false expectations and being told untruths. I liked that Sacha finally found Gabriel and mated with him as he always wanted. It was nice for Leo's family to be returned and even better that Gabriel finally can enjoy having a clutch with his mate. I hope there will be another book or two in this series to explain Leo's latest pup and his lost brother.
So far this was my favorite in the series. It was interesting to get Leo his backstory. The story of his parents and their search. The rehabilitation of relationships. Also I enjoy how more self assured the various dette's become and grow and the relations that develop. And ofcourse as in the other books all the eggs, pups and social developments which seem to take place and are being set up . 4,5* for me. And I am curious if we fibd out what happened to Leo his clutch mate.

This story of second chances for Sacha and Gabriel who are the parents of Leo. It was a fun story, but mostly because of all the added page time for Leo and Hall’r and their large family. And although I enjoyed the story with Sasha and Gabriel, I didn’t feel a lot of emotional impact of it, or feel like I got to know either one of them really . But the overall world building is fun, and I enjoy reading about them . And eggs! And baby dragons!! Win win!
This book is going back to the beginning. Gabriel and Sacha are the stars of this story and I love every part of it. This book explains why Leo was abandoned. Sacha finding him in the wild and bringing him to meet his son is very emotional because as mean as Leo is you never know how he will react to meeting his Dette Dad!.

Gabriel was upset that he was only able to deliver blanks so he ran away and laid the two eggs one night and left them. Gabriel went to live in the wilds. He was upset and hiding from the world. Sacha goes to look for Gabriel. Sacha has never forgotten Gabriel, he is now looking to find him and bring him home. Will Sacha find Gabriel????? Will Gabriel believe him?????.

This is a paranormal queer romance with mpreg, the third book in a series that should be read in order. Leo’s father Sacha goes in search of his missing Dette father! The writing is beautiful and descriptive with great characters. I love that we get more of Leo’s story and there’s a surprising bit at the end that will lead into the next story I hope! I definitely recommend reading this series!!
I’m loving this series so far, it reminds me of another dragon series that I love. I was so happy that Gabe got to come home to his mate and family. I’m so excited to see what Leo’s newest pup is going to be up to! I’m also looking forward to seeing about Powell’s find. Hope the next book comes out soon. These Dette’s are changing their world one Drake at a time!
Following a devastating discovery, Gabriel flees from his chosen mate knowing he would discard him if he ever discovered the truth. Time passes and one day Sasha stumbles upon his lost mate. Gathering his mate and the fledglings he has taken in, he brings them back home where they belong. With Sasha and Gabriel reunited, will they finally get their happy ending?
This was a fun read. I found it easier to follow than the last one and liked the story line better as well. I requested these books without realizing there was a first books so now, after reading Settling His Dette, I have to go back and read the first one about Leo and Hallr!.

I loved Settling His Dette by Lilo Quie. It's the third book in the Empty Nests series. I loved Gabriel and Sacha's story. I loved discovering Leo's history and seeing all the baby dragons. I can't wait to see Gabriel's babies hatch and learn more about Leo's sibling.

I just absolutely love this Dragon family. They have had so many troubles and love and dedication brings them all back together, eventually. Sascha was so devoted to Gabe, it was heart warming. The cubs were written with such an entertaining view. The twins were adorable. I just loved it all! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Okay towards the end I accepted that this book is a continuation of Leo’s desire to have a family and not just his parents second chance love story but that still doesn’t excuse the first twenty per cent of this book. All in all I love the world, the couples etc. I just really need some editing :’)
NSFW infos: Two dragons, the drake will bottom on occasion
This series just gets better with each new story. There are more interesting revelations and intriguing questions with each new addition. I can't wait for book 4.
This is the third book in the series. Sasha and Gabriel's story. Second chance romance, all the feels and a HEA.I I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A great addition to the Empty Nests series. It's well-written, has great characters, and is funny, I love all the dragon babies and everyone has their happily ever after. Sasha and Gabriel are great together and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.
I really enjoyed this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I liked this book even better than the last one! I loved the little pups, and Leo and Greg's reunion. I loved Gabriel and Sacha's second chance romance. I couldn't put it down. I hope there will be a fourth book! 5 stars.
A true pleasure to read this series. While each brought their own share of heartache and troubles - their love sustained and solidified an unbreakable bond.

This was a good book. I really liked this plot, although of course it starts with sad circumstances. All the pups playing together sounds like such an amazing sight. And I’m excited to hopefully learn more about Bastien. And Luka!
I’m really enjoying this series. This book was wonderful. The series starts where the last book ends with a new couple but all the wonderful characters that we have met before. Highly recommended
I am so enjoying this series and the world that it takes place in.. I love all the characters and I definitely love Sasha and Gabriel.. Off to the next book
The story is awesome, but the editing is seriously flawed. Character's names spelled wrong in the same paragraph. Other character's named written in lower-case. Hiring an editor or doing a more detailed proof would make a world of difference.
