Kree, Kendra, and Krystal are sisters with very distinct personalities but, they have an unimaginable bond. Kree is thriving in Indiana as a senior partner at her new law firm and she and Jackson are still disgustingly in love. Kendra and Damon are happily married or, so she thought. Something is amiss in her relationship and she’s fightin’ for her life to save her marriage. When Damon unexpectedly drops a bomb she didn’t see coming, her heart is shattered and she’s left to pick up the pieces in the aftermath. Krystal is the youngest Wilson sister and she’s spoiled rotten. At 23, she still lives at home with her parents and is floating through life with no responsibility. Krystal has no interest in working a 9 to 5. Her main goal is to marry a rich ninja and become a kept woman. Good news, she finds someone who might be up to the challenge. Bad news, he already belongs to someone else and that someone is her BFF who she has no problem betraying. The Wilson sisters kept me on my toes with their antics but, I enjoyed getting to know these ladies. I loved me some Kree and Kendra but, I couldn’t stand Krystal. She was self-absorbed, entitled, and a horrible friend. After the shyt she did to Zee, there’s nothing that heffa could ever do to get on my good side. But, that’s okay because, karma spun the block on that azz and gave her exactly what she deserved. Safeguard My Soul checked all of the HEA feel good vibes boxes. These sisters were definitely each other’s keeper and safeguarded one another through the good and the bad.

I absolutely loved Safeguard My Soul! Even though the author’s note says it’s not necessary to read “Seven” first I feel like in order to appreciate Kree and Jackson’s love story it’s absolutely necessary! These three sisters were everything! Their mother instilled in them that they were each others safeguard. They had the best relationship and really looked out for each other through the good the bad and the ugly and lord knows they had their fair share.

Thanks to “Seven” we were able to get an angst free love story with Kree and Jackson in this book. She is a partner of an all women law firm and met Jackson, a well knows NBA player, years ago at essence fest. They had a no strings attached agreement where they met for seven days annually and enjoyed each other. Despite the rules put in place to keep feelings at bay, they end up falling hopelessly in love with each other. In this book we get to witness their love on a deeper level and I was all the way here for it. Jackson was so loving and charming. He catered to Kree on a deep level and despite the reputation that NBA players tend to have, he only had eyes for Kree.

Kendra is the middle sister. She’s a nurse and is happily married to Damon, a military officer. Trouble begins to brew in paradise after two and a half year of marriage and when Damon can no longer fake his happiness, he drops a bomb on Kendra that rocks her to her core. 🥴🥴 Kendra is ultimately devastated and left to pick up the pieces. As she heals she is determined to remain open to all that life has to offer and here come BDE having Wes! He was definitely my fav!! This man exuded masculine energy! From the way he looked to the way he spoke 🥵🥵🥵 …. Whew chile!!

Lastly but certainly not least we have Krystal! She is the baby and is spoiled by everyone in the family. Those spoiled ways leads to her betraying her best friend for some dxck and she gets the shock of her life when he (Dyron) shows her who he really is. I’m not even mad at what happened to Krystal because she did Zee so dirty!! Karma did a u-turn on her as$! Dyron got off way too easy!! I wanted to see him really get what he deserved! I guess he served his purpose in the story but he didn’t deserve to ride off into the sunset 😒

There were so many layers to these sisters and I loved peeling back each one! Their parents and ever Angie and Tre also added a great element to the story! I highly recommend reading this book but read Seven first 😅🥰

It warmed my heart to see Kree and Jackson's love blossom. Kendra was suspicious that something was wrong with her marriage, but she was unprepared for Damon's secret. It's nice that Wes was a part of her recovery. Teehee Krystal Krystal swiftly felt the punishment of karma. Krystal, being the youngest, felt entitled to her way of life and believed she should have what she wanted whenever she wanted it. Once Krystal had settled into her new life, snake ass Dryon came along and shook things up. Dryon definitely got off too easily. Should have put a hit on his lying ass.

Sisters

I wanna sister! The love these ladies have for each other, really makes me sad that I only have brothers! 😡. Loved catching up with Kree and Jackson, to see their love continue to grow and thrive. The way that man loved on her was everything! 💖. My heart broke for Kendra. She had a sense that something was up in her marriage, but never THAT! Damon you were foul as hell for that ish! 😤. Glad she took the time she needed to heal and reflect. Once she did that , she was ready to shake things up, starting with Wes! Miss Krystal! I knew right away that she was gone be the wild card! Now girl you know you were wrong for hurting your girl Zee like that! Whew.. karma came back hard for that azz, and scared Krystal straight! Really enjoyed how each sister got their own story, and how their sisterly love helped carry them through the good times and bad! Slow hand clap ma'am! Beautiful read! 👍👍👍

A lot was going on in this story. Three sisters grew into their lives as adults. One sister's marriage was a problem, the youngest sister was spoiled, and the middle sister had a huge secret... Overall, the story was a good read 4.25 stars.

The W Effect….🤩😍

Foremost, to appreciate Kree & Jackson’s HEA journey I recommend reading “Seven” for foundational context prior to this book. Thereafter, WOW (an understatement), “Safeguard My Soul” a fantastic read was the equivalent of a soap opera in literary form…As The Wilson’s World Turns🤭🤩‼️More so, each Wilson sibling’s journey was riveting the hood, bad & ugly. Nevertheless, their family & friends were resilient in demonstrating support, loyalty, determination & love👏🏿👏🏽👏🏾💐…the “W” Effect😍‼️However, in a perfect fictional universe where imagination are infinite, encouraged & celebrated, can Dyron’s world integrate with the Powers forces of Crescent Falls 😬🫣😉‼️Yeah, I’m a senior AARP member of the certified righteous indignation petty division 🤷🏾‍♀️🤭‼️

I love it ❤️❤️❤️

Kree and Jackson I love everything about them. I was happy they were able to bond without no one interfering with their relationship. They didn’t have no ex trying to come back in there lives causing problems they had real love. I know Jackson is the happiest man alive now that he has twins.

I feel so bad for Kendra. Damon is the worst person ever. The fact that he was lying about being straight and sleeping with his wife and ex boyfriend shows he don’t care about nobody but his self. He should have been honest with Kendra from the beginning. I’m sure she would have pretend to be his girlfriend to keep his Sargent from finding out that he is gay. I’m glad Wes came into her life. Kendra deserve to be happy and in love and that’s what Wes showed her.

I know this might seems mean but I don’t feel sorry for Krystal. She wanted Zee man so bad that she ruined their friendship with her to be with Dyron. Zee told Krystal that Dyron was going to use her and he did. Krystal had me lost for words when she said she hope they relationship works out because she stop talking to Zee for him. When she went to jail I just knew her life was over. Towards the end I started to like Krystal. She had a lot of growing up to do. I was happy to see Levonte at her court hearing. I know those two are gonna make it because she didn’t get him in a malicious way.

I so enjoyed the Sisters!

Kree, Kendra and Krystal were the cutest sisters! They were all carrying broken hearts and had trust issues until they met their men. Damon was low down to do that to Kendra, Dyron was a drug dealer, I don't know why Krystal couldn't see that! She actually did her best friend wrong and almost got terrible karma for that! Jackson was perfect for Kree! Through all the ups and downs they all met some incredible men and got their HEA! Excellent read!

Safeguard My Soul

Ms. Shane redeemed herself with this one. I was initially annoyed when Seven ended the way it did, so I was excited to read this conclusion for the Wilson sisters. I'm happy they found the men for them.

Kree and Jackson are everything. I was so relieved that their journey didn't come with drama or baggage. They deserved that and their happy ending with those babies.

*slight spoiler*

Kendra’s story highlighted a woman’s struggle when they fall victim to men who are on the down low. Especially in today's society, people are more comfortable with showing support by praising and celebrating those who bravely come out about their sexuality despite possible backlash, AND THEY SHOULD BE SUPPORTED AND PRAISED. However, when discussing down-low men who use women as “beards,” they get no love from me for being selfish users. I empathize with the reasons he felt he couldn't live in his truth, but he knowingly took advantage of Kendra’s love and feelings for him.

In this book, we got an insight into the psychological impact it has on women in this aspect. “Am I not good enough?” “Why is my partner not showing up for me?” “Why are they not interested in affection and intimacy with me?” “Am I not deserving of being loved properly?” These are all questions that Kendra and other women asked themselves. I'm glad she got someone like Wes who never makes her question things like that.

Krystal deserved all the hell Dyson gave her. She backstabbed her best friend for a come-up. It had nothing to do with the attraction or magical “connection” she kept talking about. She saw he had money, the benefits her friend got from being with him, and she wanted it for herself. The end. She got her karma and a lesson. I'm happy I got to witness her growth because baby sis was definitely scared straight. Levonte came right on time.

Kree, Kendra and Krystal

This book……WOW! I loved everything about all of their stories! I love how Mrs. Teresa taught them to be each other’s Safeguards because they truly needed each other in every kind of way. I’m just so happy that Kree finally let her guard down to be loved and to love. Kree deserved to be loved and to be free in every way possible. Kendra, Im not gon lie, I was hurting for Kendra but the love of her life was right under her nose the whole time! She deserved to be loved as a lover and not just a friend (like her ex husband)! Krystal, oh Krystal! Everything that glitter ain’t gold. I hate what she had to go through but sometimes young ladies just don’t get it because we blinded by love. I’m just happy she realized her worth and is getting everything she gives back! I love those mennnnn 😅 All I ask is Jesus…..when you ready for me to have my Jackson, Wes and Levante, i’ll be ready too! This was an awesome read and I can’t wait to divulge in more of Ms. Charity Shane books!

This book was so good, I would love to see it on screen. I loved the adventure of the book " Seven" by Ms. Shane, but this is book kept me intrigued.

There is nothing quite like a mature sisterhood. Seeing the individual lives of Kree, Kendra and Krystal were quite interesting.

The evolution of Kree and Jackson was so dreamy and beautiful. The bond that they share was ernestly established and truly goals. We are introduced to Kendra and Damon and behind the scenes of the marriage that appeared perfect. All that Glittered certainly wasn't Goals or Gold. Krystal is the carefree baby sister that is entirely spoiled by the family. She is determined to get whatever she wants. She learns a valuable lesson that there are lines that are not supposed to be crossed.

The idea of free times and the example the three ladies had in their parents is truly beautiful. Wes is that dude for real for real.

Good book. 4.5 out of 5. Quick blurbs about each sister.
Kree-loved her and Jackson ever since the novella “Seven.” I’m glad we got to see their relationship. His proposal was everting.
Kendra-loved her name (of course) lol. Hated how Damon used her for years and didn’t come clean. I wish she would have punched him. Love that she got with Wes.
Krystal-I didn’t like her. Steal your best friend’s man. That’s foul. And when she got caught up, I didn’t feel sorry for her. I’m glad she learned her lesson.
I loved how close the sisters were.
Loved the side characters. I would love to see a novella about Angie and Tre.

As always I couldn’t put the book down. Never a dull moment. I loved every moment throughout the entire book. Kendra was my girl. Yes ma’am.. I need someone to tie me down. Lol. Of course all the Sisters deserved a happy ending. So happy about the twins.. I was surprised. The suspense was everything. Overall I loved the Sister bond. I never disappointed reading your material. Looking forward to see what’s next!!💜

This was a great read! This was a new author for me, but I will definitely continue to support her. I loved this story and the fact that we were able to get each sister's story. Lots of lessons were learned and these sisters held it down and found their happily ever after. These men truly loved their women to the core.

Definitely a must read! Charity did an amazing job :)

Great follow up to Seven

I read Seven and though I liked the story overall, I was disappointed that there was a cliffhanger with Tre and Ang.

Safeguard checks all the HEA feel good boxes. It felt like I was reading a Black rom com with Kree’s love story. 🥰 The relationship troubles her sisters faced gave the story just enough Tyler Perry-esque over the top drama but delivered a HEA that rivaled Kree’s. And, the resolution of Tre, Nicole, and Ang’s triangle was resolved. 😉

perfect!❤️❤️❤️❤️

Charity Shane,”Safeguard My Soul “was the perfect follow up to Seven.Thank you so much❤️

After reading “Seven “ , I was in Love with Kree and Jackson and was dying to know where their less than traditional love affair was going to lead them. “Seven” also left me with questions about Kree’s two sisters Kendra and Krystal( with her spoiled over the top , thinking she knows everything self 🤨 😂😂) . I can happily say that this book “Safegaurd My Soul” answered all of my unanswered questions😄🥰

“Safegaurd My Soul” takes the reader on a journey with the Three Wilson Sisters. Kree (the oldest), Kendra and their youngest sister, Krystal, as they share in the good ,bad, ugly and unexpected situations that occur in their lives. This story shows how important family love and support is even when one may think they don’t need it. There are many different levels of love that are on display in this well written book and I found it hard to put it down. We are exposed to two groups of men in this book. One group will have you swooning and squirming. While the other group will have you using a great deal of profanity 🤬😂😂 At least that’s how I was feeling as I was reading 😅. I’m trying really hard not to include spoilers however I will say I was disappointed that Dyron didn’t get what he deserved. 🤨 And I’m glad that Krystal discover Ed the lesson that…“ When you get what you want . you get everything that goes along with it. “

So again Thank you Charity Shane for a beautifully well written book❤️ Ummm …one other question 😂 What are the chances of hearing from Angie and Jackson ‘s best friend😂😂Seems like their back story must have been a bit interesting. Not to mention me wondering if he will really go through with marrying his superficial fiancé 😂😂

There was a lot going on…

I’m glad this book picks up where Seven left off. Even though you don’t have to read it first, you should, but Safe Guard My Soul starts out with a nice refresher of what transpired between Kree and Jackson, and it’s great to see their love flourish throughout this book.

I felt bad Kendra. Damon did not turn out to be who she thought he was and I was not ready for his reveal! However, his foolishness led her to Wes where she belonged!

Krystal really irritated me for how she did her “friend” and in the end it backfired on her. I was very disappointed that Dyron didn’t suffer any consequences.

I loved to see how the family and sisters all loved and poured into each other.

I must say I was a little annoyed by the repetitious use of the phrase “either fate, kismet, or maybe even God Himself” in the beginning of the book. It was way overused and could have been cut out in several instances. The book could use a little editing overall, as there were some missing words and grammatical errors but not enough to be a distraction..

With all that being said, it was still a good book and worth reading.

You haven’t missed you!

First thing first, Being from INDY and seeing Longs Bakery highlighted in this story put a HUGE smile on my face although Kree should’ve gotten the Blueberry cake donuts instead 😅🙃. Also, I def would’ve thought they purchased their home in Brownsburg over Zionsville but I get it lol.

Now to the story:

I enjoyed catching up with Kree and Jackson and seeing how Kree got out of her way and allowed herself to love and be loved.

Kendra sis, Damon would’ve been in a wheelchair playing with me. He KNEW and didn’t care and put you at risk. I’m glad she overcame and got what and who she needed.

Krystal sis, you were too old to be that naive. You did that to your best friend for what?! She said you was gonna get yours and you did but baby Jesus was absolutely on your side because whew.

Now, Some of the sisters names were incorrect in the scenes, so a little more editing and this would’ve been perfect.

Would love some follow up on Angie and Tre and how they are doing as well as Wes and Kendra.

Beautifully done!!

This was like 3 in 1 and I loved the way it flowed. I absolutely loved Kree and Jackson’s original story from the book “Seven” and when I realized we were getting more on them I was overly excited. Their love story is and was simply beautiful. Jackson was just everything a woman wants and needs. I’m so glad Kree let him in and let him love her.

I knew Damon was up to no good but damn, I expected another woman that was definitely a jaw dropping moment. So happy Kendra found real love in Wes. Would definitely love more on the two of them. Maybe a Christmas novella 😅

I did not care for Krystal, she was spoiled and entitled and she was grimey af, after the way she did her best friend I had very little trust or interest in her. Claiming they had a connection no, she saw dollar signs when she looked at him and he played her. She was too old to be so naive and she knew that man didn’t love her she practically begged him to say it after Kree’s wedding. I’m good on her 🙄

So I really liked this book. I liked how the author wrote each chapter from the perspective of Kree and her two sisters, Kendra and Krystal.

I was glad to get an update on Kree and Jackson from Seven. Their love story was really sweet. And I am glad there was no unneeded angst or drama for them.

In regard to Kendra, I liked her story, but actually felt sorry for Damon. No, it wasn't right for him to have married her under false pretenses, but it is a sad, yet realistic storyline that a lot of people hide their sexuality because they don't feel they will be accepted and loved. I wish he and Kendra would have been able to remain friends, but again, it was a realistic storyline.

Krystal, Krystal, Krystal.....she was my least favorite of the sisters. She never really matured to me because she never took responsibility/culpability for her actions. She was WRONG by stealing Dyron from her best friend and never owned up to that. Then, when karma bit her in the arse, she never acknowledged her part. I would have loved a little more self-reflection and growth from her. It was nice she ended up with a good guy, but did she really deserve him?

P.S. It was cute to get more about Tre and Angie too. Maybe they can get their own story.
