Michael Lindley is a #1 bestselling Amazon author for "Mystery Thriller & Romantic Suspense" with his debut novel THE EMMALEE AFFAIRS.

His more recent "Hanna Walsh and Alex Frank Low Country Suspense Thriller" series ranked #1 on Amazon for Mystery and Suspense series. The "Hanna and Alex" stories are set in Charleston, Pawleys Island and the fictional Dugganville, South Carolina.

His stories feature love and relationships challenged by the troubled waters of betrayal, tragic loss, and the many dark and unforeseen forces that can lie just below the surface of our fragile lives.

All of Michael's books are set in idyllic locales and often compelling historical contexts. The settings include a remote resort town in Northern Michigan in the 1940's, 50's and present-day; Atlanta and Grayton Beach Florida in the turbulent 1920's as well in current times; and most recently, 1860's and present-day Charleston, Pawleys Island and the fictional Dugganville, South Carolina.

Michael writes full-time now, stepping away from a career in Marketing and Advertising and divides his time between Northern Michigan and Florida. He and his wife, Karen, are also on an annual quest to visit the country's spectacular national parks.

"You will often find that writers are compelled to write what they love to read.

I've always been drawn to stories that are built around an idyllic time and place as much as the characters who grace these locations. As the heroes and villains come to life in my favorite stories, facing life's challenges of love and betrayal and great danger, I also enjoy coming to deeply understand the setting for the story and how it shapes the characters and the conflicts they face.

I've also been drawn to books built around a mix of past and present, allowing me to know a place and the people who live there in both a compelling historical context, as well as in present-day.

Writers like Pat Conroy and Kristin Hannah grace my bookshelves along with Ian McEwen, Dennis Lehane, Amor Towles, Anita Shreve, Lisa Wingate, William Kent Krueger and on and on. I need more bookshelves! ML

THE FIRE TOWER

Alex and Hanna were finally settling into their new life on Pawleys Island in South Carolina when an old rival is released from prison and they find themselves back in the cross-hairs of the dangerous Dellahousaye crime network.

No spoilers here, but this story focuses on Alex's fictional hometown of Dugganville, SC where his father owns and operates the old shrimp boat, the Maggie Mae. The town is based loosely on the real shrimper/fishing village of McClellanville, SC where there is actually a fire tower much like I describe in this book.

It's been great fun traveling again to the Low Country of SC these past years as I've been working on these stories. It's truly a special place and I hope I can bring readers some sense of that in the "Hanna and Alex" novels.

Thank you for your interest in my stories!

A tall, old fire watch tower sits just outside of Dugganville, SC, on Pawley's Island. When a young woman who was a new client of Hanna's law firm is found dead at the base of the tower, suicide is suspected. However, the evidence says otherwise. Someone pushed or threw this woman off of the top. Hanna and Alex are trying to settle as a married couple, when they get involved in the investigation. There seem to be ties to the Lacroix crime syndicate and also to a drug smuggling plt. Hanna also has to survive harassment by Lando Tern, a dangerous member of Lacroix's group.
Very suspenseful. There are many plot twists to untangle in this episode.

I enjoyed this final book..and the disasters that Hanna and Alex found themselves a part of. The entire series was filled with drama and plenty of murder, suspense with twists and turns.
However. I loved the first book because of the back story of Hanna's ancestors on Pawley Island. I am disappointed that the author could not weave more history and details throughout the additional books. The only piece being a glimpse of the ghost from time to time...that was in my opinion a lack of ingenuity that could have been golden!

5 stars for The Fire Tower (Hanna and Alex Low Country Book 6). This book was full of action and a few plot twists wrapping up an excellent series. Hanna and Alex managed to survive more attempts on their lives from Lacroix and his thugs. Brenda Dellahousaye met her end with the twins being saved. Senator Hayes finds himself being arrested by the Feds and Sheriff Stokes survived his wounds. Now if they only they could get Lacroix. Wish there were more books in this series. Will miss these characters.

Good book!

Interesting characters and story. I finished the book at midnight. It has some really crazy evil bad guys and some strong women. Not a single dropping of name brand clothing or gratuitous sex! I do appreciate that. It always amazes me what people will do for money, sex and power. Looking forward to more in this seies.

Mixed feelings

I'm still enjoying this series. However, I get annoyed with the repeated stupidity of Hannah and Alex--especially Alex. They continue to charge ahead, endangering themselves and messing up the investigation! They need to learn from past events and be rational!!

Thrilling escapades!

Do you like roller coasters? They take my breath away as they recklessly swerve, dodge, crest and fall…well, that’s this one!!! Captivating explicit scenes throughout the entire book make THE FIRE TOWER a must read!

Checks all the boxes

A fabulous , fast paced riveting series. Love the characters. Also love the setting as it is where I spent much of my childhood and teen years. I read these too fast and then can't wait to start the next one. Kudos Michael Lindley

Fast paced action

Punctuation and grammatical errors. Beginning story building seemed contrived.
Storyline was good and kept my interest. Need to hire a better proofreader!

Cops, FBI, drug runners, dirty cops, crime bosses and shrimp boat captains make an entertaining mix. A small town cop must sort out multiple characters
