Another great book from MK Scott. What a book and all kinds of interesting things happening to keep the readers attention. This book made me laugh to I cried and so I say any author who can do that has been very successful in my opinion. Really enjoyed

Wedding Cake Blues was a fun book to read. It's a catering cozy mystery but there is no murder to solve. Della Delacroix owns a bakery called Cupid's Catering Company. She is getting ready to cater a big wedding, and the bridegroom--Jeffrey Lawson has disappeared. She has been counting on getting future bookings from the guests that attend the Lawson/McCormick wedding. So Della and her mother Mabel agree to do what they can to find the groom and bring him back to Owen. They have no choice if they want to keep their first wedding catering job. I really liked Della and Mabel and the interaction between them. I also liked the people that Della met at Lawson Industries in the Customer Support Advantage department. The author made it easy to imagine the characters and feel like you knew them. I found this book very entertaining and I look forward to reading future books in this series.

Since I have a blog about chocolate, I've read a fair number of "cozy mystery" books that have to do with "chocolate" in some way. That's how I know that the first book in M.K. Scott's Cupid's Catering Company takes the bold choice of not following the standard semi-romantic tropes that most books I've read of this subgenre do. However, it also doesn't spend as much time on the investigation of the mystery as other cozy mystery novels that I've tackled over the years which resulted in my feeling both distracted from and rushed by main character Della trying to find a missing groom before she loses her biggest business. venture

I'll be writing more about the chocolatey aspects of the book over on my blog later.
