Jasper’s work on his new airship is anything but smooth. And when an outstanding rival project appears from the other side of the world, his efforts border the impossible.

With the Engineers Order’s approval and an unexpected addition to the team to help them, airship engineer Jasper Kendall Asher and aeronaut Ivy Blackwell are ready to see their airship come to life. Or so they think – until a series of unsettling newspaper articles make their workers quit one by one.

To make matters worse, a powerful contender for the title of England’s representative to the Engineers World Gathering not only challenges their project, but also throws Ivy and her airship into an unwanted race against time from London to the Australian colonies and back. When unforeseen events change the journey’s course, relationships and loyalties are put to test.

With scarce resources and only a few months left until the most anticipated engineering event in the world, Jasper must find a way to protect his work and his place at the Gathering. Opening a case with Her Majesty’s Office of Classified Affairs seems a good idea for this purpose. So long as he follows the right trail…

This was such a thrilling adventure novel! You are in for spies, cunning rivals, mystery and romance. The book is full of action and suspense, I loved it!

This time around it delved deeper into the characters and we get more development. And just like in the first book, the settings are vividly described transporting you to a world of steam-powered airships and hidden laboratories.
I highly recommend Engineerium to fans of adventure, steampunk and mistery. It is a well-written and exciting novel that will leave you looking forward to the next one in the series.

Some highlights for me include:
- The writing is clear and engaging. Tarca does a great job of weaving together the different plot threads and keeping the story moving.
- The characters are well-developed and believable which, combined with the detailed world-building, makes the experience so much more inmmersive.

Looking forward to the next one!

I highly enjoyed this second book and in my opinion, it was better than Laevium, the first book. The characters develop and get more of their layers revealed. There is more action, interesting developments, funny or heartwarming moments.
There is also a mystery/detective feel to it, which gets extra points from me!
You may find some characters that you'll judge or dislike based on the current knowledge about them, but then you get to see their point of view and how not everything is black or white. Loved that!

I am genuinely looking forward to seeing how the story concludes!

A great continuation of the Cerulean Airship series

Following on immediately from the first book in the series, this one had the same amount of tension, intrigue and mayhem. Ruxandra has built a fabulous world with fantastic ideas and machines, all of which could possibly have come into effect if progress had been different.

I'm going to get book 3 and carry on the story of Jasper, Edward et all as I need to know what happens next!

A great book, I read it in 2 sittings. If you like action-packed drama over continents, then these books are for you.

I went into this book already loving the world from the first volume and feeling attached to the characters. The first book set up the story and felt a bit slower, but this one? So much happened! I laughed, I cursed, I discovered new badass characters, and I got to see a great male character show his more human side.
Now I can’t wait to jump into book three—I just need them to finally catch the dark man! This series deserves way more attention and recognition.

Enjoyable read.

A good read and a good second book. Keeps the story going from the first book. The setting and the imagined technology is wonderful. Looking forward to the third book.
