What happens in Paris should stay in Paris... right? But he doesn't, and now Gabriel Hunter is Bexley Monroe's new neighbor.
Gabriel is the man Bex once loved, her golden-eyed mentor, the rock-star chef she left behind in Paris. But now, he's right next door for the three months he'll be in Portland.
Bex tells herself nothing's changed. He's still her ex. Their lives are still half a world apart... except that Gabriel's twelve-year-old niece is with him, determined to play matchmaker, with time running out.
Both Bex and Gabriel know playing with fire is dangerous. And what heats the kitchen should remain in the kitchen.
But when it doesn't? You get mischief, mayhem, and a Man War.
EX ME has the small-town romance vibes you love, set in the middle of a city. A gorgeously swoon-worthy hero fights a Man War with a woman who is his equal in this second-chance, spicy contemporary romance, with crazy relationships and a happy ending.

…after a bit of a shaky start for me, this book, as the others I’ve read by this author, just knocked my out. These characters are so strong, well-developed & just grabbed my heart.
I loved so much about this story. The vision books (a nod to my design background), the family (as heart-breaking as Bex’s was), Ari - OMG, could any child be so adorable, so smart, so just wow? And Edward. Gosh, loved those scenes with him, Bex, Michael, then with Ari & Gabriel! And the shared dream for Bex & her mom, and then Bex & Gabriel are so pivotal to the whole story.
Great read, beautifully written, plenty of heat, but with a wonderful finish. Terrific!
A little bit mixed, not quite sure how I felt about it
I did not read the first book, and wonder if that would have changed things at all. The series is called The Man Wars, and it was mentioned that she was in a man war, but I’m still not sure what that meant 😉.
I felt very wishy washy through most of the book. The main characters felt wishy washy to me. I didn’t really get their chemistry, and at times was confused about the emotions during the scene playing out. I want to say emotional whiplash, but not quite because I felt like I just couldn’t even gauge the emotions at times. There are also a number of things that aren’t made clear until later in the book, which was not helping my confusion. I loved Ari and her precocious match making ways. She mostly made the book for me. There were definitely points where I felt the emotions, as they all had dealt with loss, so those hit the heart. But the relationship and connection between these supposed star crossed lovers just didn’t hit me. The writing was good, editing was good, so I’m rating it mostly based off that and Ari I guess. YMMV though, as plenty of others have raved about it. So take it with a grain of salt I guess.
