Guy summoned to other world gets an OP power that isn't recognized and gets the boot. It's somewhere between cozy town-builder and rom-com. The protagonist, Kidan né Norio, has the power to bring out the maximum potential of anything he holds be it sword or dirt. He accidentally fishes up a mermaid who demands he marry her to cover her shame of getting caught and starts charming other characters with his cooking.

Laid-back, upbeat, and humorous, I liked it. My only main complaint is I wish there was less romance in it.

Somewhat enjoyable — although the premise is predictably by-the-numbers and the plot is overtly contrived, the side characters (that are not on the cover) are amusing.

I don't recommend this book, but I'm not surprised that it has fans.
