Laurel’s life bears no resemblance to the love stories she writes. While handsome heroes are easy to imagine, they’re much more difficult to find. Years of bad dates with creepy men have left her feeling cynical toward all things related to love. When she and her best friend find themselves caught up in Morna’s meddling magic and are transported to seventeenth century Scotland, Laurel meets a man who threatens to change her attitude toward matters of the heart.
After two years away, Raudrich returns to his home on The Isle of Eight Lairds to resume the duty he’s pledged his life to. When he arrives, he finds an out-of-time lassie asleep in his bed. The woman intrigues him, and it doesn’t take long before she captures his heart. But something inside causes her to resist her feelings. If only he could help her love herself, perhaps she would have room in her heart to love him in return.
As their feelings grow, so does the strength of an evil held captive beneath the castle—an evil that will do anything to escape.
Will Laurel open herself up to the possibility of love? If she does, can she find the power within herself to outwit the evil she’s destined to face?
Bethany Claire is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Scottish time travel romance novels in Morna’s Legacy Series.
Bethany’s love of storytelling has been a lifelong passion but, convinced it would serve her best to follow a “conventional” career path, she tucked that passion away and went off to college.
Fast forward four years and about six major changes later, she realized the stories simply were not going to stay tucked away. Months away from graduating with a degree in elementary education, she finally realized writing was the only career that would make her happy.
So one day in the middle of a summer education course, she got up in the middle of class and walked to the registrar’s office and withdrew from the university on the spot. Since then, she has devoted herself to writing full time and is following her dreams.
This is hands down my favourite book out of the series! I just loved the new direction the story took, it added such an interesting aspect and drew me in much more than I would have been otherwise. And I really enjoyed the way everything was interconnected and how everyone’s paths crossed, it definitely added to the story. The new characters were what made this book for me though, something about them just had me falling for them hook line and sinker!
Bethany Claire does it again with another fun Time Traveling Romance. In a different twist, Morna (the match-making witch) send two people back without really giving them a choice or an explanation. Laurel and Marcus are friends who had an introduction to Morna's story in Love BEyond Reach. Morna uses Laurel and Marcus to help keep an evil fairie imprisoned. While we don't see much of Marcus in this story I have a feeling that Morna won't be leaving him loveless in the future. For now, Laurel - a romance author - must find a way to open herself up to romance while saving The Eight - a group of Druids who keep the fairie under control. The dialog is witty, the characters are loveable and as usual you want to know more about them and their future. I received an advance copy of this book
Love Beyond Words takes Morna's Legacy into another direction. Love Beyond Reach introduces druids and a hint that other magical beings existed beside witches. Morna's not only meddled with Laurel and Raudrich's love life, she is also trying to keep history on track.
Marcus and Laurel are best friends who always stand by each other. Laurel's being a romance author, has a creative imagination but when Marcus destroyed her beliefs of impossibilities and her sister is seriously injured in the fire, left Laurel in a writer's block.
Laurel and Marcus is transported back in time to fix their friendship and to find out what roles they both played in the past to keep the present.
This book is a beginning of more magic (good and bad) to come.
Lily Collingwood is back as the narrator for this continuation of Morna's Legacy Series. If listeners are not familiar with this narrator, they need to listen to her wonderful narration of all the stories.
I can't wait to read the next 7 books in the series about the Isle of the Eight Lairds.
I was given this audiobook by the author. I have voluntary, decided to write an unbiased review for this book. I was not compensated or influenced in any way on writing this review.
Wonderful book. Love Beyond Words is one of the best books by Bethany Claire. It has all the elements I’ve come to love, but this book is just a little different. The main characters Raudrich and Laurel find their happy ever after but, the way Laurel goes back in time is different. There is more magic in this book and the introduction of new characters that may have their own happy ending in a future book. I certainly hope so.
The book is an easy read. I could not put it down. I don’t want to give anything away, but a new castle is introduced and new people with new magic.
If you’ve not read any of the books in the series, you could start with this one and not be lost. But I highly suggest you read this and all of Bethany’s books.
I have read and loved all the books in this series so far, and this one was no exception. This book introduces a whole new set of characters and a new castle, complete with additional magical elements. It also opened the door for many more books in this series, or possibly a spin-off series, although I have come to love Morna's meddling ways, so I would hate to see her left out of any future books. No matter which direction the books spawned by this one take though, I will be eagerly awaiting their release! If you have not read any of the books in the Morna's Legacy series, start at the beginning, because you are not going to want to miss a single thing!
After being transported back in time by Morna, Laurel and her best friend find a world of magic they never knew existed. Laurel also meets a man unlike anyone she has ever met. Raudrich, one of the eight lairds that guard the island Laurel has arrived at, and soon they both find that they can't fight their feelings for one another. With an evil within the castle fighting to get free, it will take an act of love and courage to make sure they have the future they want, even in the past. As always Bethany has written a wonderful story of magic and love that crosses time. I loved reading Raudrich's story and can't wait till the next book in the series.
What did I enjoy the most about this book? Everything! I got to tell you that Laurel's dating woes reminded me of my own that I had plenty of laugh out moments... I also enjoyed the mysticism of the 8 Druids. That is actually one of my interests(mystics and stuff that is) With Raudrich coming into Laurel's life. And with Marcus learning the full extent of his mission and of course, Morna who is always up to her old tricks. This made for an entertaining and special read for me. I enjoyed Love Beyond Words immensely!
I am a huge Bethany Claire fan and have read all of her books. I eagerly wait the release of each book. This one was a surprise, in a good way. It has a bit of a twist and a little more magic and intrigue mixed in with the love story. Bethany does an excellent job of setting it up for many more books to come featuring these characters and I for one cannot wait for it. If you love old legend, the Fae, a love story. and strong characters get this book.
I've been reading Bethany Claire's novels for a year or so and I have to say, this is her best to date. The story starts off similar to others where you assume Morna will meddle and the story is about Laurel and Raudrich falling in love....but it is much more than just a love story. Friendships are forged, New characters are introduced, and I can't wait for the next book.
The story stands alone, but I dare you to read just one!!
These books just keep getting better and better with every issue. As always the story is interesting and very well written. The characters are thoughtfully developed allowing them to remain strong throughout the entire story. Although there is a little bit of a cliffhanger is at the end it does not interfere at all with the main storyline. Definitely recommend this book.
I love the first six books. Then it just seem to get a bit redundant. I thought I would try this one because it’s shifting focus. But I didn’t like how Morna was forcing things to happen. The other stories seem to evolve more naturally and this one seemed forced and it really didn’t have anything unexpected to it. I’m really disappointed because I liked the other stories and wanted to continue reading this saga.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story! Even though it is a bit different from the rest of the series it is very well written. Yes, you have romance but with this you have a mystery with a twist. A very strong good versus evil but we all know good will triumph! I hate to include spoilers so I will not. I will just say you will enjoy this book and I can not wait for the next book!
I've been a fan of Bethany Claire's Morna series since I first discovered it. Each new book has left me anxiously awaiting the next in the series. That being said, this one was my favorite. It had it all : time travel, love, relationships, fairies, lore, myth history... I think this was easily the best book in the series thus far, and once again, I can't wait for the next book.
This is the best book in the whole series. You still have Morna and Jerry (and a few other beloved past characters), but you also get a whole bunch of new characters! In addition, there is a new setting and a LOT more magic. All of this adds up to a most magical story that will have you totally enthralled! I can't wait to see what is next!
Once again, Bethany Claire comes through with a dazzling time travel story. This time they are on a new adventure and a new mystery to work out. I really thought I wasn't getting into the story, then realized I was on chapter 15 already. It goes really quick! A bit different, but with a good ending and more to come! Good read!
I loved this book! I had to go back and read books 7 & 8 in the series to remind me how all of the characters were originally introduced but that was a pleasure and not a hardship. I loved them all just as much the 2nd time around! Bethany is definitely one of my favorite authors that gives you a lot to look forward to. I am eagerly waiting for more from this cast of characters.
There is a touch of lightness to the writing in this newest book in the series. Having an overweight, emotionally needy romance novelist at the center of the story is a splendid touch and as always is true, meeting old acquaintances from previous stories is always a pleasure! I will be sorry to see this wonderful series end!
This story is beyond amazing- it left me breathless in terms of love. I fell in love with Raudrick in book 8.There was something so magical about him. Laura is me, while I never found not will find a Raudrick I'm beyond so happy that she did. There is hope for all, except for those cursed with the witches bane. I just love this series - more to come.
This is part of the Morna's Legacy Time Travel series that I love. There are around 12 books and I love all of them that include people traveling back and forth in time in Scotland. Each book is based on a certain couple helped with love by Morna but they all intact with each other. Some are based more on people moving back in time and some move forward but they all interact together.
I totally enjoyed this whimsical story of time travel and love. Raudrich and Laurel find a special kind of love. Morna a bit of a witch is a match maker who sends Laurel and her friend Marcus back in time to find their true destinies. Very light fun reading.
This went way too fast. I didn't want it to end. Looking forward to the next in the series. Bethany Claire's books are always engaging, entertaining, and take me out of my everyday world. The Morna's Legacy books are an automatic "buy" for me.
This was a sweet scottish time travel book. I didn't realize when I ordered it that it was part of a long series but it still worked well being read by itself. I love Laurel and Raudrich's love story!
This series is most captivating. Morn a up to her subtle tricks. Bringing couples together. This particular book quite interesting.I will recommend to family and friends
Ok, this author wants me to swallow the fact you can make a cell phone call from the 16 th century????? The fae and witch stuff was bad enough but she jumped the shark with the phone call. Could not finish this mess.
