Griffin has been waiting years for the chance to meet his mate, and he's not about to let her go anytime soon. First, I hate this type of format book. I hate the pay-to-read-a-chapter platforms. That being said, I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read, despite being 95 chapters long! It was nice to see a family not treat the heroine like crap. Did they have their issues, sure! But they weren't horrible to her. I think my biggest issue was that the heroine's name was "Clark". I've never seen a girl named Clark, and I've heard of a lot of "boy" names used for women. Never does it explain why that was the chosen name. The treatment of the former king was kind of interesting to me, but I loved it. Call me twisted! (You'll see.) I love that Clark has her weaknesses, she is human after all, but she has strength of character, and we see that throughout the story. I wasn't surprised with the way the door was opened with a secondary character for the next book, and will look for it when it comes out. Ends with an HEA.

This book was very well written, but hate the forum that you have to read it on. That said I can’t take anything from this author, very well written. Would love to read more from this author unfortunately I will not if I have to read from the AnyStories forum. I believe this writer is an amazing story teller.

I just wish I had the money to finish reading this book. The only downfall to well written books on pay per chapter forums/apps is you just can't always afford to finish the book off! Hopefully it will be on Amazon kindle one day

I actually really enjoyed this book. I found out about this on insta and took a chance, and boy am I so glad that I did!! There are twists and turns, and just when you think you know what will happen something completely different happens. This book was really hard to find online to read for free, but I found where to read it

I came across this story on an app called Anystories and I’ve been addicted since the moment I started reading. The author does an amazing job drawing you in and keeping you wanting more. I love a good werewolf story and this one does not disappoint. It’s the first time I’ve read a werewolf tale where the female fights against the mate bond and refuses to accept it. It’s actually refreshing and makes the dynamics of the story seem more real. You’ll love and hate Clark because you can tell she’s very young and naive but at the same time you feel for her because she’s been the outcast in a world she thought she never belonged in. The Alpha King is also interesting and some may think he’s too controlling but if you know the world of werewolf’s you’ll understand his dynamic and why he will do whatever it takes to keep his mate. If you’re interested here’s the link to the story. You won’t be disappointed.

Where do i start? I dont even know im so annoyed right now, i want the time i wasted on it back!
I dont often DNF a book because i hate doing that, but i just cant continue. I hate characters with no backbone and Clark sure as hell had none!
Not even gonna mention the grammar, horrendous!
Its sad because i really wanted to like this book, the beginning was very promising, it had so much potential, but man did it go downhill fast! Such a dissapointment!
While i love dominant men in books, this was not it. The way the Alpha spoke to her just made me see red and the way she constantly just kept forgetting how shitty he treated her pissed me off too. I just cant continue with this!
There is a right way to go from enemies to lovers and there is a wrong way and this book did it the wrong way for me!
If u take anything away from this review i hope its this - dont waste your money on it! You can find the chapters online for free too, if u MUST read it🙄

I've read this book on Anystories andI can strongly state that this was a magnificently well written novel, the way the characters are portrayed are unlike any other making them unique. It made me feel as though I'm the characters in the moment experiencing their emotions which had me on an emotional rollercoaster just enjoying the good read. I will always remember Griffin beheading his father in under 10 seconds and Clark's comments about it in her thoughts for they were very humorous. It made me happy seeing them fight their differences and finally spend their lives together, I'll read this book numerous times just to experience it all over again. They're currently hosting a Christmas event where you can get access to the book and read it for free at a huge discount, I urge you to grab onto the opportunity and join Clark and Griffin on their life adventure!

Clark & Griffin

Okay first of all for y’all who wanna read it but not pay like 30 bucks for it … it is out there. On different websites who are sadly littered with ads but they let you read that book without having to shell out insane amounts of money just for one god damn story.
*caugh* findnovel (dot) noveljk (dot) org *caugh*
Have fun, girlies!

I blame these fucking insta ads.
They get me all the time and I hate myself for falling for them regularly 😆

Anyway! Review!

It was fine. Surprisingly good.
I enjoyed myself and I pretty much read it in two nights.
I liked that Clark didn’t let her family, nor Griffin overpower her completely - even though she didn’t stand a chance in the end.

I also liked that there was no real third act breakup - that basically happened after she ran away after meeting him, ha! But this book had actually stakes. I did not expect Griffing slaughter his Dad like that. Usually authors don’t go there. Especially with App-Books like these.

It was fun to witness the change of Clark from being an insecure “weak” human to a fucking badass who owned her humanity and managed to kill Ezra McFuckface.

I like that she was kind and showed grace and that that wasn’t treated like it was a bad thing but how people actually started to respect her when she showed compassion. (I really happened to like Ivan by the end - that grouchy man - and I liked how he somewhat changed his tune after getting to know Clark)

And you know what, in hindsight I even appreciate that Clark wasn’t a dormant wolf either for a change but a human til the end. And that this book explored her wolf heritage - meaning feeling the actual mate bond.
Even tho, I gotta admit, I was waiting for it to happen and was kind of disappointed it didn’t. But I get why it didn’t - bc she didn’t need to be a shifter to be powerful. And that’s cool.

I also liked that Griffin is an artist! I enjoyed the juxtaposition of big bad alpha king (pahaha, alpha king, how silly are these werewolf universes? I love it!) and his softer side. I loved that they actually got closer when they both opened up and allowed themselves to be vulnerable.

I didn’t mind him being mildly kinky (really it’s nothing. She gets spanked twice, she has to count the spanks one time of those, gets her hands tied once and had to address him as daddy a couple of times)

Speaking of which: I did not appreciate the daddy kink. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some DD/lg action but I just … wasn’t feeling it with them. It felt jarring and out of place.

Okay those were a lot of good things, but I also do have things to complain about. I have a couple but mainly two things:

1. Fourth Wall Breaks / Clumsy writing
2. Getting over trauma is only a matter of Mindset

let me explain

Fourth Wall Breaks / Clumsy writing:

This book had a LOT of telling instead of showing. It was unfortunate that Clarke was part of the pack already at the start of the book and not a fish out of water because that caused a LOT of things to be told to us, and not showed.

And that then lead to something I really don’t like when authors do it. I don’t even know if this has even a proper name bug it’s basically the fact that, when a chapter was about to end, the author decided to put in a “If I only knew what would happen I would have never left” or “She did not know, things got only worse from here”
You know what I mean? These foreshadowing of something epic happened before it does. It felt very much out of place and feel like a fourth wall break bc the voice of the book wasn’t telling the story anymore. I always stumbled over it when it happened. Which wasn’t that often, but enough for me to roll my eyes at it.

Getting over trauma is only a matter of Mindset

Oh this one annoys me. Not because it made the book worse but because of the message it holds.

Clark ran away from Griffin, he captured her, brought her back and demanded that she stayed. She had these dreams of college and freedom but she got stuck in a literal palace basically. And that entire thing changed when she had a conversation with herself and said to herself “yeah I had these dreams, but what if there are new dreams! I never gave him a shot. I should have him a shot!” … and that was it, she was all in.
Like … HUH?! I get it, matebond and all but … idk.

But that wasn’t the worst thing. The worst of those two happened in the bonus chapters of Aria & Sebastian.
So if you don’t wanna see it as part of the main story - it’s absolutely fine and you won’t miss much when you skip on those chapters.

In the main book Clark gets captured by people who think humans are beneath wolf’s and should be treated like the dirt that they are (very obvious, and dare I say clumsy, racism metaphor). In her cell she gets brought food and water by Aria who was basically brought up in this pack - this cult - where you had to serve men.

(This is what is still in the main book. At the end of the main fight Arias life gets spared and she happens to be the Mate of Clark’s brother Sebastian - the actual story from Arias POV is in the bonus chapters)

CN: Sexual Assaut, Grooming, Absue

As a woman you had to be submissive (not in the fun way) obedient and ready to serve. They were basically like maids who men get to fuck. And Aria was brought up by her father, from the day she could talk that she was only there to serve them — By the way I actually liked how the author portrayed that one. Usually in these kinds of novels it’s very much on the nose - and don’t get me wrong it is very obvious here, too. But it was done in a way that was believable.
In pack negotiations Aria gets pawned off to this evil alpha of this Story and one day that alpha basically raped her and continues to do so regularly. Aria doesn’t see it as such but as reader you very much know what is happening. And yes it does happen on page.
Aria thinks they have a connection and feels loyal to him, though you see uncertainty and her being self conscious basically all the way through. Once the battle begins she is hiding in a closet, Clark finds and helps her and the end, as I said, she meets her Mate Sebastian.

And Sebastian is pretty great. He gives her space and reassures her … but then there is this side Character that tries to provoke her to find out if Aria has a Backbone. When she’s successful she gives Aria this so each of “It’s your decision. Do you wanna be victim or survivor”
And while the change from meek little Aria to possessive jealous Aria didn’t … the notion that all you gotta do is change your mindset is just … so shortsighted.
Yeah I get the sentiment but what she went through is a lifetime of indoctrination and brainwashing and deconstructing that and trying to be more confident isn’t something that happens just by deciding you don’t wanna be a victim anymore.

Again this switch doesn’t happen immediately. But when it does it is jarring. She is shy and self conscious, gets to a get together … and sees a woman hitting up her mate and she flips, smacks her in the face and says that she’s going to find out what happens if that woman doesn’t leave … uh wait what?! That was so out of character for her - even with the excuse of a mate bond and being a werewolf. She showed being jealous before but not like that. It felt like the bonus chapter needed a quick resolution so the author had to make her this badass now.

Idk if left me confused
Again it wasn’t part of the main story but oh well. I included it in the overall rating.

Okay those were the main points I have a few minor things that I didn’t like so rapid fire:

• Clark’s Father is unbelievably unlikable. What he did to his mate is unforgivable. And if I were Grace I would have ripped him a new one
• It took the bonus chapters to get a bit more insight to Graces thoughts - I would have liked to know it in the main story bc I genuinely thought she was a doormat
• Griffin caught Clark and, when he noticed her thinking about escaping again, he proceeded to DRUG HER with an injection, then she gets spanked for running away - and the drugging is … forgotten? Wtf.
• There’s hardcore misogyny and racism, sometimes as analogy, sometimes directly on page and it’s done with a very broad stroke so that it’s almost comical at times
• Clark said she wanted to get to know him better, to go on a date … but Griffins idea of a date was a dinner (the usual) that was cut short and they got to their room to bang. After that all that talk of dates and getting to know each other? POOF.
• I felt like Clark constantly forgot how shitty Griffins behaviour was and forgave him too fast. Also the promises and opportunities Griffin promised her were basically immediately forgotten.
• After Liams & Ezra’s packs were defeated and killed … we don’t know what happened. To the women of the packs. Are they still around? What happened to the land? Basically what happened in the aftermath is very much glossed over.
• The sex scenes were … lacklustre. Fairly short for all the buildup and the intense mate bond. There also weren’t very many. Meh.

I am sure there are more things but I have a headache and I wanna go to bed. So. Here ya go.

It was an enjoyable fast read
Has a HEA
And I’m glad I didn’t have to pay big money to read this, lol

Nope. she talks about wanting change for female mates and wanting her own life. Then just throws that out in one second. It was not worth reading. It was so infuriating to read as she did the opposite of everything she claimed she stood for and Griffin was just manipulative, controlling and abusive. NOT possessive and dominant. I think there is a bit of cross over in this style of book and I do typically like werewolf/mate bond and other fantasy romance but it was all horrible to read as a woman. No balance and it did not come across that he had much respect for her at all.
I would not recommend.

OMG I love this book I was so happy I only had to spend 3.99 because I saved up all my daily check ins to read it and I loved it. The fact that Clark thought her life was going one way and it went another, and the Love Griffin had and never wavered on. Im not a fan of Spanking for punishment but to each his or her own I just sometimes want to smack her or him thru the book. But the book is fantastic

I couldn’t finish this. I stopped at ch. 50. I can’t even believed I made it that far.
This book had potential & I kept hoping it would improve, but it just got worse.
First off, she’s half wolf not human. Secondly, just no. There’s a way to do captive romance to make the H at least palatable to the readers but this was NOT it. There’s absolutely nothing about Griffin except he’s hot. That it. No redeemable character traits AT ALL. Let’s not even talk about Clark.
::Sigh:: try again.

She is a result of a one-night stand, she is a human in a werewolf world (humans are frowned upon as they are weaker than werewolves), and she will become the queen because her destined mate is a prince->king. She wants to fight the prejudice that women should be homemakers and stay in the kitchen and with kids and it is a men's job to protect.
The only thing she does is that she is taking self-defence classes. And she asked to participate in some political meetings to gain experience and to be equal in this with her mate, which I found funny because she didn't enjoy werewolf school so she lacks knowledge in some of the basics and everything must be explained to her. I would expect her to take (private) tutoring classes (not only self-defence classes) to learn as much as she can once she decides to stay with him and also to help with some work as her mate is buried under a ton of (paper)work.
Also, she wanted to ask her dad why he cheated on his destined mate with FL's mother, but we never get the answer from him, only thoughts on this topic from other characters, despite being mentioned so many times in the story. She never visits her dad's pack.
Also, I find it very cringe when the ML wants her to call him "daddy", spoiled the steamy scenes for me.
Another annoying thing that kept me from immersion in the book, was the quotes before each chapter BEFORE EACH of 121 chapters, so 121 quotes. Why? Meaningful quotes at the beginning of the book are common but at the beginning of each chapter? What exactly was the goal here?

I wasn't too impressed overall, but the bones were good. I think it would have been better with more drawn-out conflict and there were a lot of storylines left hanging.

I liked the general gist of the story, but there were just a few things that rubbed me the wrong way.

1) “Please, daddy…” I may just be a hater, but I find this so cringy. Especially when it comes from very young characters. It doesn’t sound natural and it immediately turns me off.

2) I like a controlling, dark MMC as well as the next girl, but Griffin does it to the extreme, where it just feels like I’m watching an abusive relationship. And it does not make for an enjoyable experience.
I’m all for the jealousy and overprotectiveness, but when it comes to controlling her pleasure or deciding what she does with her time or what she eats or what she wears… shit like that is just yuck!
And then feeding her and dressing her like she’s a child is more than a little cringy.

3) Also, I know they were “useless” for her, but I can’t imagine any non-supernatural child (who finds themselves surrounded by werewolves), wouldn’t be fascinated with learning about them. All this talk about her falling asleep in class or not paying attention just doesn’t make sense. I could see that being the case if she was a part of the community her entire life, but she only started living with the pack when she was a teenager…

I devoured this story in a day (admittedly it was cold and wet outside so a book on the sofa was the best option!). It's told from Clark's point of view (female lead character), and she is actually really funny. Some of her inner monologue is sterling. She is a human daughter to a werewolf alpha but as a human she is mostly treated as a second class citizen - but not in a bad way, just less important than the werewolves. She yearns to skip town and do human things like study, travel and get a boyfriend. Only she knows her werewolf family won't want her to leave the pack because they love her. So she's trying to figure out how to grasp her future when Clark and her siblings are called to a diplomatic event by the Alpha King. It's unusual but they must attend. As a human she's more out of place at the event than ever, but here is where everything changes and the Kings son claims Clark as his mate. Griffin is strong, a powerful alpha, and yet soft and kind to Clark. He is loooooovely. And his world is complicated. Drama ensues. He is also bound to his kingdom, so did Clark's dreams of a human life just vanish....? Will Griffin woo Clark over so they are both truly in love? Will they overcome the human-haters? Read and see.

The premise of the book got me interested immediately. Unfortunately it’s a pay per chapter read, which I don’t like but not a deal breaker. But is this supposed to be a romance? Because not meeting the love interest until 16 is unacceptable!!!!! A love interest should be introduced in the first chapter if at all possible. Definitely no later than the first couple of chapters. (Tbh, I only got as far as I did because I wanted to see how long it took to get to the first meeting.)
There were grammar errors but not enough to make me stop reading. It’s dragged in places and tbh, most of the first 15 chapters could have been cut down to less than half those chapters. There was a lot of info dump in the beginning that was not needed and/or could have been worked in easily here and there. I.e. it should have started when they arrived in Canada and the MC could have thought back to conversations she’d had with her friend and her family. We could have learned she was the result of an affair with a human during that initial conversation with the king.
I skimmed most of the first 15 chapters and didn’t miss much or feel lost at all.
If it wasn’t so draggy and long winded, I would have finished it.

I made it to ch65 before I had to give up. It’s a dnf if I just don’t like the H and h. Other than Clark (h) saying how hot Griffin (H) is there isn’t anything else that makes me want to learn more. She’s mated, sees her mate behead the king so of course she runs because she wants something different for herself 😏 but he kidnaps and drags her back. Her “selfish” wants are all but forgotten after a few chapters. When she’s back he proceed to “spank her”?!? And have her call him Daddy?!?!? I’m all about kink, but there has to be trust and NONE was built. Between the characters or the readers. It just keeps going. She la with him 2 weeks but we never hear anything about her family or friends. It’s like they never existed and she’s in a bubble.

Yuk! Thanks but this isn’t my jam

Absolutely loved this book. To some, it might seem like the story is rushed but it once you start it, the story grabs hold of you and keeps you entertained and waiting to see what happens next. Give it a read. It’s worth it.I really enjoyed reading the book. I learnt a lot of morals and values in it. The book thought me perseverance, love, respect, protectiveness and above all forgiveness.
The Alpha King was protective of her mate even though she was a human and was threatened by his father and other external wolves. It all comes to the point that live indeed conquers all.

I really enjoyed this book. The female lead is a strong willed young woman thrown into many different and difficult situations from a young age. As the title suggests, she it's the fated mate to the alpha king werewolf. From the moment they feel their mate bins their lives are turned upside down. Clarke, the main character, is trying to make her way in the world any way she understands, and once she's mates her choices have far reaching implications and consequences for all involved. Great read, would have liked to have more of Griffon's perspective.

Definitely one of the best werewolf books I have ever read. It got me hooked from the very first chapter. Though it was a long story, I couldn’t put it down and read it through in one sitting.

I like the writing style of the author and how she developed the characters, the plot and the twists of the story. It's very easy to relate to the characters (I love Griffin and Clark), with lessons to be learned from them as well.

I’m really hoping the author will continue with a sequel to this book.

I just wish that the girl had a more feminine name. Clark just seems more male than female. But to each his own. Great story.

I read this online and was surprised to find it a really good read. One of those books that you can't put down. The plot was exciting and easy to follow, with just a touch of sexy. But in a good way sexy, this book did not have the squeamish, why are you with this jerk just because of a mate bond question that you have to sometimes ask yourself when reading romantic werewolf books. Yes, there was definitely a dominant/submissive relationship, but in a respectful and healthy way. Highly recommend it if your looking for a fun and slightly smutty read.

It was a great book, it was thrilling and the history as well as the characters were well made. I got a bit annoyed by the possessiveness of the ML, as it seemed a bit toxic and overbearing but as the book went a long it got better as they seemed to reach an agreement. At points it was a bit too descriptive on the surroundings and although a bit filling at times it did help a lot in certain situations as it helped imagine what the scenario would look like.

Over all I think it was a good and quick read. 🙂
