Excellent Read

This anthology is on another level. I can confidently say it is the best anthology I've encountered. This collection of stories not only provided complete and satisfying narratives but also avoided the common pitfall of ending abruptly, allowing readers to fully immerse themselves in each story.

While the central theme revolves around boss and employee relationships, the anthology masterfully keeps things fresh and engaging by exploring various sub-genres. From action-packed involving mafia romance and corporate espionage to more tender stories like second chance, brothers best friend, reverse harem, one-night stand, instalove, enemies to lovers, secret identity, and blackmail – the diversity is truly commendable.

One outstanding aspect I must share is interconnection through the "Boss Be Damn" website, creating a cohesive thread that ties all the stories together. This not only adds an extra layer of laughter and giggles but also enhances the overall reading experience.

10/10 Pacing
This is something close to a prequel I am guessing. Not a slowburn but it did not drag either. I was invested and things did not take long to develop and get interesting.

Great plot twist! I knew something was brewing but I never thought it would get that serious. I loved it! I need book 1 of this series and it'll be released next year.

10/10 Characters
If you are not familiar with the alphahole type of male leads and this is your first go at it...well it's about to get real. Nico, the MMC, might as well be a mafia man. Tiffany is so relatable. She's so kindhearted and you quickly find yourself rooting for her. The characters overall are all written in a way that makes you feel like they're real.

I had a good time reading this book. Nico is very much unhinged. The stuff that man does in order to have what and who he wants is just insane. This could have been a dark romance in my opinion. Book 1 of this series is coming up in 2024. This is a prequel but a necessary prequel. You cannot skip it because there are some keys events that happen and it includes a cliffhanger. So Desire Me cannot be skipped 🖤

Things move really fast in this one. The MMC over-the-top possessive so it doesn't take long for the plot to develop.

Great story. It was relatively short but great regardless. Nothing really fell flat.

Nyla is literally so relatable. Her inner monologues are so down-to-Earth. King, the MMC, is so possessive and just a jerk to her. His reasoning somewhat made sense so I won't complain much... Assuming that is exactly what the author wanted for King's character to be, no holding back, it was well done!

King is so arrogant. Again, alphahole galore in this book and he's so unapologetic about it! Sometimes I was like Nyla, babe, stand up but that's how the author wrote her character. If that's not for you, totally understandable but I, I was having a blast 🤭

They were hot. I kinda wanted more chemistry but it was great regardless.

The Savage Bosses books has 15+ books. They're mostly office romance and some other tropes. These 2 are office romances and a few more tropes. I really enjoyed both of these books. More importantly, glad to have received the ARCs and now I have more authors to keep up with. Trust me, give these a go, you won't regret it! Release date is October 17th!

I enjoyed reading the stories

Most of the stories in this anthology were well-written. There was only one or two that I didn't like. Some of them seemed to be previews of books to come leaving the reader hanging and wanting for more of the story. You can find a detailed review of each story below.

OMG, the twists and turns of this story.

I don’t know whether to be flattered or afraid by this story. To get my feelings out of the way, I HATE CLUFFHANGERS! Tiya better have another book to explain this ending. Anyway, this Saint guy is scary and so are his cohorts. Tiffany Best was hurt by her long-term boyfriend Marcus. His whole personality changed after he was let go from his pro basketball gig. He went down a slippy dark hole only he could blame. Tiffany tried to help him but he was such a selfish jerk that he couldn't see it until it was too late.

All it took was the first meeting of Tiffany and Nicolo Basille was smitten. He was the baby in his family and spoiled so what he wanted he usually got and Tiffany Best was what he wanted and he did every and anything to get her to love him too, and he succeeded.

But that Saint guy was scary and ruthless as all hell. Tiffany knew she had to stay out of his grasp. She fell in love with the gentle Nicolo, the CEO of Basille Hotels and Resorts. I fell in love with him too but there were some hints in the story. There was a chunk of his childhood that was missing. Where was he? There is a reason why he no longer speaks to his sister. How did he meet his brother? What is it that seals their relationship together? I have so many questions, one is what did Tiffany’s mother really do that sealed her fate with her daughter?

This story was wonderful. I enjoyed reading it and stayed up late to finish it. I couldn’t stop reading it.

Dax underestimated the feelings

Honestly, what did he think would happen when he forced his girlfriend Zoerina Prince to have sex with another man in a sex club called the Filth Den? He showed his immaturity then. Zoe tried to protect herself and her feelings by setting rules from the beginning. Her partner was just as affected by her as she was by him. She wanted to do this dastardly deed to help with her relationship with Dax. But what happened showed her that Dax was incapable of pleasing her. She couldn’t get the stranger out of her mind.

Zoe’s new job presented another problem. The stranger turned out to be her new boss but he didn’t seem to remember her because of what her ex Dax had done to him. All it took was for her to tell him her name and all the bits and pieces of his fragmented memory of that night came flooding back in.

I did not like the way this story left me hanging in the end. The author failed to give its readers something positive by these two developing a relationship. There is so much left unsaid. Will Anik stop his punishment of his fatenah? What does fatenah mean? Usually when a foreign language is used, an explanation is given somewhere in the story. Will Dax try to reconnect with Zoe? What about Anik’s ex-wife, will she try to reconnect? Will Anik and Zoe work for an HEA?

They were both scared

There was no way Emir Kaplan would allow Selene DuBois to achieve the goals she set for herself at his family’s architectural firm Kaplan Jordan and Ross. Especially after she ghosted him when they spent an incredible night together in Atlanta and she promised to stay for breakfast. She was the only woman who had that connection with him in ten years when his heart was broken. He was determined not to let it happen again.
Selene was hired by Emir’s father Abdel who was not aware of her connection to his son but soon used that connection to get what he wanted. Selene wanted to start her life over in Aspen now that there was no reason for her to stay in NOLA. She never allowed any relationships with men to interfere with her career goals. The night with Emir scared her too. He could upset her applecart but she was determined to not let him run her off. She found out that his behavior with her was not normal in how he treated his previous assistants.

They resisted each other until they couldn’t any longer and decided to take a chance to see where their connection took them.

I enjoyed reading about Emir and Selene’s tete-a-tetes, tip-toeing around each other. To me, the story ended too abruptly. I wanted to read more about them. Did they get their HEA?






Water Me SAVAGE BOSSES Lolah Lace

The garden of his soul needed watering.

Kyle Caldwell was so busy taking care of his family's bottled water company FuSe that he did not have time for himself. Making sure his brother Wesley stayed out of trouble was mind-boggling in itself. He did not have time to grieve the loss of his parents.

When Aerica Bolden was hired as a temporary assistant, he was his usual world-class jerk and tyrant. America was determined to hold on to the job no matter what. She did her job well no matter what. She needed this job. She could not understand what woman could ever consider being his girlfriend when she heard that he had one.

It was obvious that they were attracted to each other but his personality kept them apart until Kyle had an epiphany and decided to show Aerica a side of his personality no one saw after he ruined her dress in the club. She quickly became the one he needed in his life.

This story was interesting but I did not understand how Kyle and Aerica developed into lovers so quickly. Something just seemed missing in the way they hooked up. It all seems too quick to me. The ending just came too quickly and just stopped leaving the reader hanging.

It was the reason she left Douglas

The way he tore her to pieces after that occurrence had her running to the hills brokenhearted and embarrassed, vowing to never come home again. That was until a string of bodies of women he dated kept showing up at his business destroying his business credibility and the only person other than Olivia Pope with the crisis management ability to help was Madison Montgomery.

Kent Luxe grieved his wife's death until five years ago when he started dating women only to scratch an itch. No one held his attention until Madison. He fought it until he couldn’t anymore but his interest in her put her life at risk too.

The mystery of who’s the killer and why was solved but this story left me hanging just when it was really getting good. It just ended. It left me with too many questions. I assume this is a prequel to another book. I HATE CLIFFHANGERS!

Not my cup of tea

Nixon and her bosses are just not to my liking. I just can not get into the reverser harem thing. I did not feel their relationship. There was nothing romantic about their relationship with Nixon. I don’t understand how their mothers could approve of their relations with Nixon. The only excitement was the potential blackmailing by Smarmy and Jake. Nothing was said about how they came to the decision on which one Nixon would legally marry.

What happens at Martinicon didn’t stay at Martinicon

Judy Lynn took her alter ego Jaelle to the Cos Play Martinicon thinking she could get her groove on and that would be it. NOT! She came home not being able to get the Dragon out of her mind. In turn, the Dragon could not get Vice Admiral Victoria Strong out of his mind. They both affected each other in more ways than one. But Ryu Tsuki could not afford to let his cosplay fetish be discovered that he was the CEO of the tech company Dragon moon.

What Judy Lynn didn’t know was that she knew the Dragon and his identity was right in her face and she worked for him. The clues were right in her face. But just like at work, the work politics was used to destroy her confidence when she discovered who the real Dragon was. Ryu Tsuki had to find a way to get her back in his life. For the first time in his life, he was in love with her and not the crazy ex-Cat, who would not take no for an answer.

The first part of this story just didn’t jive to me. The interactions between Ryu and Judy Lynn was just so sudden and quick. I did not feel them until work politics started playing into their interactions. I just love reading about work politics, especially when the haters try to take the lead female down and she gives as good as she gets. Judy Lynn had me falling out with laughter with how she handled her haters. She killed me when she told Elle that she was a malnourished celery stick.


Own Me SAVAGE BOSSES Theresa Hodge

Oh no you didn’t Theresa Hodge

Just when I was really getting into this story about Sterling West and Ayana, it ended. That is why I hate short stories, especially short stories with cliffhangers!

Ayana got caught up and mesmerized by Sterling West and was in the mood to strike back at her cheating, lying boyfriend Chris, who she caught red-handed with another woman. She gave into Sterling’s invitation and was not expecting her one-night stand to want more than that and turn into the boss. Sterling was at a point in his life where he wanted more and he wanted that more with Ayana. There was one problem, his company’s no fraternization rule. He had to make Ayana quit so he could make her really his. Ayana is at her wit’s end with the tyrant that Sterling
has become to make her quit. The only thing that keeps her sane is her ability to vent her frustrations through the Boss Be Dam web page. How will Sterling react when he finds out just what is being said by BlacqQueen333 about him? Just when the story was getting good it ended.

They tried to be professional

Archer Gates had a long list of things he didn’t do. He didn’t fraternize with his employees and he didn't sh*t where he eats. Tahani Stevens was throwing a big brick in his flow. He was determined to get this company turned around so he could move on to the next acquisition. Tahani was the company’s top programmer with an up-and-coming top app for the company. But there were rumblings among the employees who were jealous of her accomplishments, especially after she and Archer could no longer resist each other. They vowed to be professional and keep their personal business just that, personal. But Mason Hughes decided he didn’t like what was happening with Tahani’s Zeenith success and tried to mess with her life’s work. Archer was livid and vowed to protect Tahani from anyone who threw bricks at her work. They would handle the problems as they arise as long as they were to do it together.

I loved reading about long slow burn courtships of will they or won’t they or when will they. Archer was so determined not to let Tahani get under his skin but he couldn't help himself. He was tired of the life he was living and was ready to settle down and Tahani fit the bill for the job.
We see how the app Boss Be Damned starts in this story.

He was bent on revenge in making Porscha’s life just as miserable as he’d been for ten years. But revenge soon dropped when he laid eyes on her again. However Porscha was doing her job very well and did not spook into quitting her job, after all, she had to prove herself with this new job.

Remy knew that there was something more to why Prscha left him ten years prior. But, when he verified what he that, instead of understanding he got all in his macho feelings. His half brother Jasper, made him understand that he had blinders on when it came to his mother. I wanted to knock him across his head and tell him to “snap out of it.” What would he have done if he was in Porscha’s shoes? He finally got it. Now, he and Porscha can get on with their lives without the interference of his mother Renee.

Patrick’s actions caused Bryson to again commit crimes that he was so too ashamed to ever let Tati know, but underhanded forces made sure she knew what he did.

Her shame and worry about Bryson's future which she was responsible for slipping to the dark side caused her to run and hide, never wanting to return home. She needed to remove herself from the equation to keep Bryceson from going further into the dark side with her presence. Bryce did not see it like that. He saw it as a betrayal and lack of communication especially after his ordeal in Italy and in his ability to reach out to her during his recovery. Her leaving hurt him deeply and he vowed not to ever fall in love again and if she ever came back home he would make her life hell and tell her that she hurt him.

To protect Tatianna, the mothers of Tati and Bryce turned out to be more gangster than their husbands. They tickled me. It turned out that the Farrina family was more messed up than anyone thought.

When Brynlee ended up working as COO for her brother Brayden’s best friend, they locked horns at work every day. Brynlee knew she was well qualified for the job and she did very well in her past positions to earn the one she had now. She wasn’t going to let Ambrose keep her from doing her job.

Ambrose was hiding a secret, one that he was ashamed to let come to the light but Brayden convinced Brynlee that it was Ro’s story to tell. But what Brayden didn’t know was about his sister and best friend’s past. Now that the bomb has exploded and the dust has been cleared of all the secrets, Brynlee and Ambrose can finally get their HEA, especially since his daughter Cee Cee said that he deserved to be happy.

They were both entranced with each other!

But King Solomon's azz-hole ways as a boss was his way of keeping Nyla in his presence. Nyla didn't know whether to love him or hate his bossy ways as the CEO of King Technologies. She was ready to move on with any company that would have her but unbeknownst to Nyla, King shut that down. King couldn't handle the possibility of life without Nyla in it.

Just when King gets the courage to admit his feelings to Nyla, a blast from his past that rocked the boat of their newly budding relationship. That blast had the nerve to be a Karen when alone in the ladies' room, but Nyla, had her number and shut her down. I just love it when a Karen harasses the female lead character and gets shut down.

King's feelings were hurt when Nyla didn't get to King's office to destroy evidence with what she was ready to do. I think they both handled that situation well. Everything was out in the open about their feelings and their future with each other. Now, they have their HEA and King's mother's wish will be coming true

I really enjoyed this anthology. I loved most of the stories but there were a few that didn't hold my attention as much. Those ones just seem unfinished or rushed. All in all it was a great read and I think a lot of people would enjoy it as much if not more than I did.💚💚

Cassie Verano - Punish Me

This is an entertaining read that has its share of drama, action packed, betrayal, secrets, cheating, enemies to lovers, forgiveness, second chances, page turner, mafia related, great characters and a plot that held me captive. Bryn and Ro share a pass; they were college sweethearts. Ro was an up-and-coming MLB player when Lyndsey shows up on the scene. Lyndsey is a sports agent and while Ro was in college she latched on to him and became his agent and got him million-dollar contracts and endorsements. An event happened in Ro and Bryn’s lives thirteen years ago that torn them apart with Lyndsey ending up pregnant with Ro’s daughter Cee Cee. Ro is now the CEO of a company that Bryn lands a job as the CAO. Brayden who is Bryn’s brother is best friends with Ro. At the insistences of Bryn, the two kept their relationship from her brother Bray. Bryn and Ro are constantly bickering back and forth as the two are working together. Ro tries to explain numerous times to Bryn what happened when she show up at his room and found Lyndsey. Of course, Bryn is hurt and doesn’t want to hear it. When Ro finally reveals to Bryn what happened the night she showed up; Bryn feels bad about the way she has been treating him. Lyndsey is a conniving woman that did something that I had no idea that she would have done. Ro and Lyndsey got married because Lyndsey got pregnant and for the sake of Cee Cee and stayed together. When Ro finally got tried of Lyndsey’s constant cheating on him he finally had enough and divorced her. Ro finally admitted to Bryn what actually happened with him and Lyndsey and Bryn could not believe what she was hearing. That’s reason why Ro never said anything to Bryn for the reason that he felt she would not believe him. These two are so cute together, love their chemistry, attraction, love and their bantering. It was nice to catch up with the Black brothers, along with Alessandro and Marco who are Ro’s cousins. I sure hope that Cassie Verano has more on Bryn and Ro, would love to read more about Brayden and Shayla.

In this collection there was a novella of Desire Me by Tiya Rayne. Now this is my first book by her and I enjoyed it. It definitely kept me entertained and captured into what was going on. It literally kept you on your toes.  Now I will say that even though I really enjoyed this story it's not at all turning out to be what I thought. Because this was like a prequel to series that's coming out. But it kinda left you in a cliffhanger type way. And to be honest I really don't care for those. I thought this was just a collection of stand alones. But let's go to the next story. 


The next story is Obey Me by Reana Maori. And this is also the first time I've read her too. And I also enjoyed this novella. It was more of what I expected besides being longer. King was a real pain to work for. But he was in love with Nyla. And even tho King was a pain in the rear to her Nyla had actually fallen in love with King. Well when push comes to shove and he thinks he is going to lose her he finally makes his move. It was actually a very good read and kept me interested. I would recommend this book. Individually and together I would give both books and this one 4 stars

This read was too short, and I wanted more. King and Nyla's connection was off the charts, even though he was most definitely abominable. His possessiveness does grow on you, though.

The spicy scenes carried this novella for me, and it will leave me craving for more, more, more.

This review is for Punish Me by Cassie Verano.
Bryn had a secret relationship with Ambrose, her brother's best friend, when she was in college that blew up causing Bryn to develop hatred for Ambrose. Years later, Bryn is hired at the same company as Ambrose. Sparks fly immediately because of their past. Ambrose wants a second chance but Bryn isn't having it. This doesn't last long though. Ambrose with his seductive, alpha self gets exactly what he wants. This is a sexy, snarky book that goes to show you that the heart and body wants what it wants. Bryn's brother was ticked off when he found out about the relationship at first but he finally came around. I couldn't stand Ambrose's ex-wife, Lyndsey. She was a conniving and manipulative witch which made me despise her character. This book also contained a taboo subject not often mentioned in books which added depth to the story. The love scenes were 🔥🔥🔥 just as the author always gives us. Another great story by Ms. Verano that you need to purchase!!!

Definitely a good collection of stories within this, though I skipped over reading one of them since I truly wasn't feeling it (Ruin Me, not huge on large age gaps where you essentially dating someone your father's age lol). As well as I wish all the books were actually completed novels (Own Me & Water Me, kinda felt cheated on those) but I understand the cliffhangers I guess so I'll have to look out for the continuations.

My favore stories were (in this order):
1. Wreck Me by Shani Greene-Dowdell (Archer my BESTEST BABY BOY in the whole anthology)
2. Crave Me by M'Renee Allen (Bryce my second baby boy)
3. Hate Me by Sage Young (Stephen my third baby boy)
4. Desire Me by Tiya Rayne (Nico.. a smooth criminal fr. On the fence of liking him because of actually thinking about the lengths and ramifications of his role in the story. I didn't mind how this story ended cause at least it had a definitive end, so the epilogue cliffhanger works fine here)
5. Make Me by Louise Lennox & Punish Me by Cassie Verano tied

I read Punish Me by Cassie Verano. This book was soooo good. It's about a man Ambrose who finds out his ex love Brynlee is his new CAO for this company who he's the new CEO for. Unfortunately they didn't break up on the best of terms. And Brynlee wants nothing to do with Ambrose. But fate has seen fit to grant them a second chance. But no one said it was going to be easy. These two would have to fight hard for their second chance.
I loved everything about this book!! The character development, background story of how they met, dealing with such a sensitive topic that led to betrayal, going from enemies to lovers, family betrayal, forgiveness and HEA. This book went way beyond my expectations. Cassie Verano has once again delivered an amazingly well written book with an abundance of steamy, eye opening, thought provoking, sassy, jaw dropping, is it hot in here, BDE and drop it like it's hot scenes you can handle. Trust and believe this book was 🔥🔥🔥🔥. You will not be disappointed.

These bosses were savage!

All the stories in this series were interesting. Some of these bosses were indeed savage but the women were no pushovers. They gave as good if not more than they got. 
I liked that the age range was late twenties to almost fifty years. 
My top five books to read in this series, in my opinion are 1) Desire Me by Tiya Rayne. This book ( Nico aka Saint and Tiffany ) is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. So looking forward to part two. 2) Ruin Me by Melverna McFarlane, who always bring it. 3) Crave Me by M’Renee Allen. Endless love couple. 4) Punish Me by Cassie Verano. Sexy! 5) Obey Me by Reana Malori. King Solomon and his queen, Nyla.

PS: I gotta say I’m tired of reading about the curvy form, thick thighs and ass and big breasted black woman body type. Black women come in all shapes and sizes. Do better, authors.

A Nice Read😊

I really enjoyed this Boxset and the stories it contained. I discovered a few authors that I have never read before and will give their catalogue a place on my TBR pile. I have a a couple of favorites in the Boxset set, the story by K. Williams and the story by M'Renee Allen . However, the story that truly sticks out for me is written by Author Tiya Rayne!!! All I can say is OMG... I didn't see that curveball coming at all!!!! I am still stunned by what I read!!! I can honestly say that I definitely looking forward to more from this particular story... Is it 2024 yet???
This was a well put together Boxset that I wouldn't mind reading again... Awesome job ladies!!!

This was short and simple. Considering these were novellas, the pacing was quick but it was still enjoyable and entertaining. I definitely will be reading the rest of the anthology. Looking forward to see what else is offered. It wasn’t the most original but that didn’t stop me from reading. If you’re looking for a quick romance read, this is for you. The first story was definitely a page turner. I will be looking forward to seeing more from Tiffany and Nico. This anthology isn’t called “Savage Bosses” for nothing. Nico fits that title so well.

Arc copy review,two short stories both steamy reads the first story I was hooked Desire me by Tina Rayne

Tiffany and Niccolo characters were a delight to read these two meet and the connection is there from the start this book with have you thinking after these two meet for me I love it can’t wait to find out what’s next for these two.

The second book Obey me was a little harder to get into i get the story but for me a little weird.

As collection of stories that each had their own major storyline. The top one for me was Desire Me. I’ve never read a book by this author before so I was all in. l will say check your TW throughout these stories as some has cheating and I know it’s a hot topic for some. These men have major alpha vibes and I was here for it. Each story was amazing in their own way.

Many stories to be had

There were lot of stories complied in this book. Some I loved others I struggled to even get through. Only giving 4 stars because I don't want ppl to miss out on the gems inside. I also really disliked that there were more cliffhanger stories than necessary! It's like they only wrote enough to get you interested in the story, then hope you'll go buy the book or books that finishes the story. 👎🏾

I enjoyed all of the stories. Some were more complete than others. Dark Cravings and Crave Me by M. Renee Allen was a favorite. I loved finishing Bryce and Tatiana's story. Having read about the Cattaneo's in the DeLuca series, I was really interested to see where this story went. Looking forward to the next story about their family.
Most of these Savage bosses are real a-holes, but they justify their abominable behavior in the name of love. 🤷🏾‍♀️

The short stories of bossy bosses were entertaining and worth the read. I approach this book with mix thoughts, since some short stories were enjoyable, while others were not. There's a story for every one..Enjoy , it will worth your time

Bayyyyyybae this book has it all! Savage, ruthless, sexy and bad a** bosses all rolled up in a nice package. The stories are all awesome. You get great plots, relatable characters, the perfect flow and the scenes pop in your mind. I highly recommend this anthology because it's great and on its way to becoming a classic!!

Ooh the acrimony, angst, drama, secrets and passion! Kudos to Cassie Verano, she knows how to write complicated, dynamic characters who have trials and tribulations aplenty. Brynlee and Ambrose kept me engaged throughout their emotional at times tumultuous reconciliation. I enjoyed reading this entertaining story.

Excellent

An excellent read, I thoroughly enjoyed all the stories in this collection. I have 1 or 2 frustrations, the first book ended on a cliff hanger her when will we get the second part? Some of them were just too short, but that may be because I was enjoying he read that much😉. Great storytelling I recommend.

Boss your type

You will find a boss type you like. My favorite is Ms Bond's boss. A playboy with a nerd side. And the heroine was a tech geek. How the masks stayed on during their trysts that they were not able to identify each other was intriguing based upon how the scenes were described. There are other stories in this anthology I like but that one was my fave.

These two short stories were good, albeit a little cliche. However, they are short stories. The second one was better than the first but I wish we got a little more story. Nice and spicy, though which I love!
