This is getting better and better, but I haven't had an omg moment to make me go up to 5 stars yet. BUT, we have the 2 couples flirting a bit more and being cute, things from the past getting solved, others being brought up and the aura of her past self always on the minds of her loved ones. I think the right word for this is bittersweet
I think I've realized after reading this latest volume that I like this series, but I'm too impatient and just want to see the end and everyone happily together. 😅
In spite of me feeling that way though, there were lots of great developments in this volume, especially seeing the history of how our leads first met! Jieum has been determined since the beginning, but it really goes back even further than I first imagined!
While I admit I'm not a fan of characters getting drunk and then suddenly being honest, I did appreciate seeing Seoha be much more honest about what he's feeling. Usually seeing Jieum's shenanigans is my favorite part, but I can say that Seoha's growth was my favorite this time around! It's been satisfying seeing him question and acknowledge rather than just try and shut out how he's feeling.
Moving on though, I really like Chowon and Doyun! I'm rooting more for their relationship than I am for our leads! 😆 There isn't really any chemistry there I feel, but I still like them nonetheless!
Overall, I've enjoyed my time reading these first three volumes, but sadly will be stopping here with the physicals. Instead, I'll continue digitally and see where the story goes!
The most interesting (and tragic) piece of this story is that Jieum has to see how her death as Juwon hurt all of the people she loves. She's just trying to reunite with them, but they're still carrying their grief, and she's not entirely sure how to handle that.
In Summary Flashbacks and alcohol induced confessions! A trip down memory lane reveals the obstacles Jieum faced in reuniting with Seoha as well as the circumstances that brought Seoha and Doyun together. Then the story returns to the present where the walls Seoha built to keep Jieum out start to crumble, and some completely collapse thanks to the power of booze. Jieum hasn’t reached her goal, but she’s certainly making progress!
The Review The first two chapters are devoted almost entirely to past events. The volume begins with Jieum at age 9, shortly after her memories return, and the obstacles she faced in reuniting with Seoha. The focus then shifts to Seoha and Doyun, who are high school students at the time, and the circumstances that caused them to become friends. The flashback arc finally ends with Jieum’s first post-reincarnation encounter with Seoha. In addition to clarifying Jieum’s cryptic statements about their first meeting and him being her first love, these scenes lend double meaning to those statements.
That glimpse of teenage Seoha also sheds light on the people that influenced him since Juwon’s death. The more Jieum observes Seoha, the more she realizes how much he’s changed from the spoiled child she once knew, and Doyun’s family clearly had a large hand in that. After all, when Seoha goes with Jieum to help at the fried chicken restaurant, he’s shockingly adept at waiting on customers. (Is this a manhwa trope? I think this is the third handsome chaebol CEO I’ve seen wowing patrons at a fried chicken eatery…)
The remaining chapters are full of alcohol and convenient drunken confessions. Chowon gets wasted, and when Jieum strategically has Doyun bring her home, Chowon spills her frustrated feelings for him. Unfortunately, because he is sober, the outpouring of honesty is completely one-sided in this scene.
Then Seoha chances upon an ugly confrontation between Jieum and her estranged brother. Not only does the incident change his “perfect” image of Jieum, it gives Jieum the opportunity to invite him to drinks. Of course, he gets wasted, and the alcohol–predictably–allows his true feelings for her to slip out. It also gives Jieum the excuse to take him home and see the locked box she gave him during her previous life. The sight of that long-ago birthday gift abruptly fills her with doubt about her next move, even as Seoha (who conveniently remembers all he did and said while drunk) gets further flustered by his feelings for Jieum.
The volume wraps up with Jieum, Seoha, Doyun, and Chowon going on an outing. While it isn’t supposed to be a date, it winds up looking a whole lot like a double date as the characters pair off in the fun and romantic seaside setting.
Ponieważ czytam na webtoons, poszczególne uwagi do konkretnych woluminów oznaczę później.
Ch.23-33 Naprawdę lubię tę parę. Lubię relacje oparte na wzajemnym docieraniu się. Cute. Ch.34-44 Uuu, dzieje się. Ch.45-55 Podoba mi się. Może nie jestem tak bardzo zakochana jak w przypadku ,,A Good Day to Be a Dog", ale to bardzo fajna manhwa. Ch. 56-66 OMG Ch. 67-77 Ale kryminał się zrobił. Nice.
Chcąc, niechcący, czytając porównywałam ,,See You in My 19th Life" z ,,A Good Day to Be a Dog". Mimo wszystko to ,,A Good Day to Be a Dog'' skradło większy kawałek mojego serca. Ale ,,See You in My 19th Life'' będę wspominać z takim samym ciepłem i uśmiechem. To była bardzo dobra przygoda. Autorce życzę wszystkiego dobrego i dużo zdrowia.
these chapters are kind of unrealistic to me because Seoha was sooo young when the tragedy happened and now he’s almost 30, can the man just go to therapy?? He’s like breaking down in the middle of the street almost two decades later over a small crush he had as a 9 year old idk man. I don’t wanna seem heartless it’s just soooo dramatic how he’s behaving. Also his attitude towards Jieum is eye rolling at times, do you want her around or not? The chemistry isn’t chemistrying for me at all. I said this before but I do wish they knew each other in like middle or high school and dated or something, it would feel so much more realistic for him to be this caught up on what happened so many years and years later. I will admit the storyline is intriguing but I have better manwha on my list that I want to read so I will stop at this volume for now.
Just realized I never ended up writing the reviews for the remaining two volumes of See You in My 19th Life which is a crime honestly considering I miss these characters and this story so much. We got the official poster for the upcoming Netflix adaptation of the webtoon and it reminded me to properly mark the whole series as read.
I am so excited for the TV adaptation, especially considering that the cast is fantastic and it also drops around my birthday in June which makes for the perfect gift! Look how pretty the poster is.
Is getting a Korean show adaptation in June, and that's why I picked up this manhwa (graphic novel)
The sister's relationship 🥹❤️ Still enjoying this series and stayed up way tonlate finishing this one.

Synopsis: "Ban Ji-eum is a girl who has been repeating her life through reincarnation for nearly a thousand years and can remember all her past lives. After her eighteenth life is cut short due to a tragic accident, she decides to reconnect with the people of her past life in her nineteenth one."
i love all the characters so much and seeing their relationships develop and all the wholesome banter and cute moments is so fun !!!! i also can’t wait to find out what’s in the box and who was behind the accident :0

A refreshing new type of story. Beautifully illustrated and written. The characters are well rounded and honestly my favorite read in a while. The balance of drama, action, humor and romance really pulls me in every time!

Why is this moving so slowly? I continue to like where it is going, but it is so long-winded. I am liking that we are learning more about how much Jieum's death impacted Seoha. But please, can something, anything, happen? It's so boring if everyone just stays stuck on repeat.
ban jieum’s plan is slowly working… seoha is starting to fall in love with her..! i don’t remember him falling in love this early but i am not complaining at all!! i’m impatiently waiting for when her sister finds out the truth, i’ll probably end up crying again LOL
Omg this manhwa is so good 😍😍😍 I loved this volume so much!! It's so nice seeing Jieum and Seoha's relationship growing and I love the ship with Jieum's sister Chowon and that other guy (can't remember his name for some reason) I NEED vol 4 right now, I NEED to know what happens next~~~
This author knows the definition of a slow burn because holyyy..... The characters are all amazing and well written, the plot is so unique and each volume keeps getting better and better. Seoha is the best! his character never fails to make me cry and also make me fall in love with him a bit more💕
