I am obsessed. I have not read anything like this one before, but I love high school bully books, so I knew I would love it. Due to an oil spill, Riley's world has been flipped upside down. She has been in the background for so long, but now she is the target of the Tritons.

Jax, Blake and Morgan have a huge secret they have been hiding. They are on the hunt for Riley's dad and will do whatever it takes to find his location. They are so hot and cold with Riley, that they have given me whiplash a few times, especially Jax.

In Submerge, we see what happens after the cliffhanger in Surge. Riley decides that enough is enough and even though she has this magnetic pull towards them, that they must suffer at least a bit from what they did to her.

The cliffhanger in this one 👀👀 I mean that person was sus, but whoa... that was crazy!!!

Ok, so last book in the Salinity Cove trilogy... It was everything I needed! There was lots of action and kept me on the edge of my seat. There was a nice balance of plot and spice as well.

This is the final story for Riley, Jax, Blake and Morgan. All the characters have grown since book one, and I absolutely LOVE all of them. This book was intense. Everything that has been happening in the last couple books (and I guess for years in their world) is coming to a head.

I loved this series! If you haven't picked it up yet, add it to your tbr. It is an aquatic based pnr, BUT there isn't a lot underwater until the last book.

This was my first mermaid (siren/trident) shifter book and I wasn’t disappointed.

I previously read Ivy’s story and wasn’t impressed by the writing of that series but this series i really did enjoy. I feel like I now understand Ivy a little better so it would probably make more sense for me to re read her series now I have some more details and understand some more things.

In book 1 I initially didn’t really like the boys, actually I just didn’t really like Jax, which I think you were supposed to feel like. Even though we saw things from his POV along with the other guys, I still thought he was a bit of a pussy because he was always going along with his fathers wishes.

His dad is an absolute prick and he didn’t deserve a happy ending.

I’m interested in reading Olivia’s story now because it seems to be set after Riley gives birth. I feel sorry for her even more than I felt sorry for Riley throughout the books.

Riley is a badass but also isn’t afraid to cry and shed some tears. I don’t know how I feel about her mother. I understand why she did everything she did but it really put Riley through a tough time.

I liked the boys in the end, there was never any talk about ‘mates’ so maybe mer folk don’t have mates in shifter book? I don’t know but it seems like they are drawn to her by a force stronger than themselves.

What I want to know is did they tell Aidan in the end?

Also how cute are Bubba and the other protector animals? Damn I want to Pet a shark so badly now!

I am now much more interested in mer-shifter books and will be on the look out for more.

I am new to shifter romances which I originally thought were all going to be about wolves so this was a pleasant surprise.

I loved the whole underwater world thing and the characters.

Riley is a great protagonist and her transformation from studious girl who keeps herself out of trouble to a siren fighting a war against a demigod was gripping.

The guys - Jax, Morgan and Blake were swoon worthy even if they did start the book being assholes.

I loved Riley’s friends, Ivy and Aidan who stood by her through everything. Even when Aidan was being blackmailed, his loyalty to Riley never faltered.

My only issue with these books is that, when things happened, it seemed to be forgotten about quite quickly. For example, when Pacific City was attacked and Jax’s sister was kidnapped, they all returned home then went off for a weekend together as though nothing had happened. Surely, it would have been all hands on deck and the guys would have been recalled to the city and Jax would have been doing everything to locate his sister? This happened a few times throughout the book which was mildly frustrating.

However, this didn’t ruin my enjoyment of the book and would recommend it.

Ok so I fell in love with @ writing with her Arbor Falls series, where we briefly met Riley and got a glimpse into her life as a siren. I can honestly say I never thought about a siren/triton mermaid-esque shifter book before but I’m so glad I did!!

The Salinity Cove trilogy introduces us to Riley, a high school senior who’s life is shambles after her dad’s oil rig exploded, causing havoc on the local wildlife.

Enter the Triton’s, aka Jax, Morgan, and Blake. Turns out there is way more to these guys than meets the eyes, and despite Riley being rather invisible to them in school, she’s certainly on their radar now that the admiral has them on a mission for vengeance.

But things aren’t always as they seem and the build up of secrets and suspense was really good! And I was 100% invested with Riley and the guys finding their HEA! They had great chemistry and the steam was awesome!

Definitely recommend if you’re up for something a little different 😉

Sirens Anger

Not gonna lie I was filled with disgust at the characters in the beginning because of the mix of bullying n sexual attraction btwn them n Riley. I felt like she had no self respect but at the same time I knew there was also the aspect of her nature awakening. I enjoyed the small pranks she pulled once she went into her version of revenge mode since there wasn't any grovel.

Things were pretty crazy the entirety of the story. It was ok overall. Her mom was wishywashy. That totally completely random moment of racism was just so out of the blue n unnecessary to the story in any way. It was never explained what happened to all the people who went on 'leave'. Are they really on leave? Guess we'll never know. Would've been nice to have an epilogue clearing things up, knowing what is happening now with sirens and the guys n Riley.

under the Sea

Whoah this series was epic. I love PNR books. Riley’s starting her senior year in high school. Jax , Blake and Morgan are on the HS’s swim team and the popular guys. They blame her for her estranged fathers (which she’s never met) Oil Company that his tanks leaked oil into the ocean and start bullying her. They want him to get their revenge. Little does she know is that all three of them are Triton’s. She comes to find out that she may be part Siren. So many different characters come into play in these books. I was so enthralled I couldn’t stop reading. Lol

plot was enough to keep me going

Maybe some spoilers! It was a good plot. I liked that the boys groveled. Everyone loves a good groveling. I wish that there would have been an epilogue maybe of their life a bit more into the future. And maybe a couple more spicy scenes of all of them together. But over all I enjoyed the book and plot to go with it. I think towards the end it got a little choppy with less details and I don’t like how her mom just popped out of no where and she just seemed to go with it.

Really enjoyed this!

Maya Nicole is an amazing author. This series was a page turned for sure. The fmc, Riley, really has to grow up and into herself, fast. The 3 mmc, Jax, Blake and Morgan, are forced to bully her but when they come to their senses, these guys grovel beautifully! I am a sucker for a good grovel. I liked the variety of side characters and the world building. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good supernatural, save the world book.

Fun read

This was a fun, quick novel. The storyline was good, but I didn’t really like that the main characters were high school seniors. The type of story this was didn’t really feel appropriate for that age. Also, with the book keeping with this age group, a little afterword regarding what happened to this group next would have been nice.

mermen for the win

I mean come on who doesn’t want 3 sexy fish boys sweeping you off your feet with a bit of enemies to lovers?! I read these so fast it’s embarrassing but omg was it worth it. I’m hooked on this world and can’t wait to read the next books in this world! Don’t mind me staying up all night… oops 😍😍😍

Call to the Sea

This one was definitely a great, intense, slow burning, intriguing series! While a bully romance and an PNR RH, it was definitely one I couldn’t stop myself from diving into! Every new twist and turn lead to more and more secrets revealed and more and more feelings validated! Absolutely loved!

Meh.

This is sooo completely over-the-top. If you’re bored, I’d suggest it.

I always try to pretend high-school romances that I read aren’t actually high-school romances if they don’t age up during the story… this one was hard to do that since the characters were very much immature high schoolers.

I read the ebooks a while ago but this series really came to life for me on Audible, the whole three book series bought for one credit! Excellent narration, clearly defined and separate characters for all involved, and somehow the slightly disjointed pace I felt as I read it is gone with the narrators.

Really good read if you can survive the bullying in the first book!

salty and sweet

The first book is rough and Riley goes through Hell and back. The salt builds the more she goes through the ocean but the sweetness of the romance counters it tastefully. If you like paranormal romance with reverse harems, but that also have a great storyline, this series is for you!

Meh it was alright. The only thing I really loved was the siren/trident part. I love shifter series so this was a fun addition. Never really connected much with the characters- I wished we got to know the guys more and their personalities like her other books she writes.
Riley was also hard to like and I really expected to love her after reading Arbor Falls

Salinity Cove

Amazing book that I could not put down. Totally different than other paranormal books that I have read. The relationships were fun between best friends and the girl friend and the guys. Looking forward to the next series and another HEA.

Worth a read

Good storylines and like the sarcastic comments in parts. The characters develop well and in parts of book you laugh parts you might be tearful and there are plot twists which keep you on your toes.

I started this series because I loved the synopsis and was excited to read about a siren and titrons and because the book covers are beautiful. However I guess I didn’t realize it was a high school story and it shows, especially at the beginning. It took a lot to get through the first 25% because the characters acted extremely immature—like high schoolers. It improves as the story progresses.

Love it!

I enjoyed reading about Riley and her men. There were a few times in which I thought maybe she should just run. However, if she had, she wouldn't have found the love she did, the sirens would still be locked up, and Poseidon would still be vengeful.

This was a solid read that was entertaining with excellent narration. If you like books with why choose, sirens, and merpeople with a hefty amount of bullying, then this is a good choice for you.
