Blaine Wicked is used to women doing as he says in and out of the bedroom. Find out happens when he falls for the one woman who won't submit to his wicked ways in the newest insanely sexy, deeply emotional, and laugh-out-loud funny standalone romance by New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster.

Blaine Wicked can spot trouble a mile away. As the eldest of five and raised in a Dark Knights biker family, he has always been a protector. Rescuing a stripper from a bad situation comes with the territory, regardless of the hell the mouthy, slightly awkward, and seriously hot leggy blonde gives him for it. She’s far too innocent to bend to his wicked ways, but the more he learns about her, the harder it is for him to walk away.

Forensic scientist Reese Wilder never imagined herself as the entertainment at a bachelor party, but she’d do anything to keep food on the table for her teenage sister. With their mess of a mother in rehab—Third time’s a charm, right?—Reese is stuck paying off their mother’s debt to a dealer and trying to make ends meet. Reese has had it rough, and she knows better than to rely on anyone for help, much less a pushy biker with piercing blue eyes who probably has dozens of women at his beck and call.

The more flames Reese throws, the more determined Blaine is to walk through them. The closer he gets, the hotter they burn—and the more curious she becomes. But Blaine Wicked has the power to torch Reese’s walls to embers, and with her sister’s well-being at stake, that’s a risk she can’t afford to take.

About The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside
Set on the sandy shores of Cape Cod, the Wickeds feature fiercely protective heroes, strong heroines, and unbreakable family bonds. If you think bikers are all the same, you haven’t met the Dark Knights. The Dark Knights are a motorcycle club, not a gang. Their members stick together like family and will stop at nothing to keep their communities safe. These men are wickedly alpha and intensely loyal, but they are not alphaholes.

"He’s like a boomerang. No matter how many times I tried to send him away, he kept coming back."
Melissa Foster again weaves a story about real people you wish you could trade places with so you could experience the all-encompassing, healing love she always writes about.
And while Reese does try to send Blaine away, he comes back, just like a boomerang. But the most important thing is that she’s the one holding it—him—all along. No one else could do it.

"He’d burn down the world for the people he loves."
It’s becoming hard to choose a favorite Wicked man. Blaine is alpha and a protector, sometimes overbearing, sometimes too much. Or so he thinks. To me, he’s just someone who would do anything for someone he loves, even though he doesn’t love openly. It will take the right woman.
I volunteer as tribute!

"She was not, and had never been, a damsel in distress, and she hated being treated like one."
Reese’s strength pushed her to the top of my list of Melissa heroines. She’s been—she’s still going—through so much on her own. Because what’s the point in trusting someone when no one ever stays? Or when she can’t count on anyone except herself? I know the feeling. It will take a special man.

"You’re not very good at accepting help, are you?"
"Not many people offer,"

The first time Blaine and Reese meet, he’s already protecting her. She knows she needs to take care of her sister, and by doing so, she puts herself in a dangerous situation. And while this guy could end up hurting her, she somehow trusts him not to. And he sees right through her walls—a girl who says she’s "fine" when she’s anything but. A girl afraid to ask for help, scared to trust. It’s better to rely only on yourself. I can relate.

"Are you going to fight me on everything?"
"Are you going to keep telling me what to do?"
"Probably."
"Then we have a problem, don’t we?"

Blaine doesn’t take no for an answer. The minute he realizes this girl’s in danger, he’s there, ready to go. He picks up the trash, he brings her groceries, he fixes stuff… He doesn’t have to do any of it, and he doesn’t want anything in return. He’s so different from everyone she’s ever met that she doesn’t know what to think of him.
And he starts tearing down her walls, slowly but surely. The thing is that she's tearing his down too.

"So you’re saying size matters?"
"Fuck yeah, size matters."
"You’re such a guy. That’s a myth, you know."
"Says a woman who’s never been with me."

Their banter was so good! He likes barking (and growling) out orders, but she’s not going to take them lying down. She’s her own woman, and she likes things done a certain way. Is she infuriating? Sometimes. Will he ever win with her? Yeah, he will. It’s not going to be easy, though.
Especially since he’s drawn to her and it doesn’t make sense. She’s light and he’s dark, he shouldn’t taint her with who he is.
But does he—do they—even have a choice?

"You like kissing me?"
"So much,"
"Then learn to suck me off, and my mouth will be yours."

Blaine is the dirtiest talker of all Melissa’s heroes. He’s also the most dominant in the bedroom (and everywhere else, for that matter). He craves control, and Reese isn’t willing to give hers up. Until the attraction between them turns way too hot to ignore.
His dirty mouth and orders would probably scare off a weaker woman, but not Reese. She’s there for it. And so was I!

"Did you get off knowing someone might see us?"
"I got off on your touch and your voice. No one else even existed."

She learns that giving up control can actually empower you because she wants his dirtier, more commanding side. It helps her embrace her dirtier side in a way she never has before—she owns her wants and needs, and he’s more than willing to make them all come true.

Are they hot? You bet they are. This is the hottest Melissa Foster book to date, and it met all my expectations. While Blaine fucks to forget, Reese fucks to remember, but sex is not just sex. He wants it rough, she needs it sweet; but he can make it sweet and she can take it rough, too. They’re opposites until they realize they can complement and learn from each other.
He brings the sexy woman out of her, she brings out the sweet man out of him. And they’re perfect.

"I have been in love with you for weeks, and I fall deeper in love with you every minute of the day."
In the meantime, Reese and Colette, her sister, find the family they never had. The Wickeds welcome both of them, and Reese can finally shed the armor she’s been wearing. She can finally let people in fully. And while Blaine gives her actions instead of words and proves he’s there for her, she shows him not all feelings are bad. Especially the ones they have for each other.
He’s not leaving her; she’s not walking away either.

As usual, there’s no third-act breakup—there’s an external, suspense-ish conflict but it only showcases the special kind of love they have.

"You don’t own me,"
"You’re mine, and I’m yours. End of story."

He’d burn down the world to protect her, but make no mistake—she would do the same for him. They have their own brand of love and wickedness, and their ride was worth every single moment.

Before I start my review of His Wicked Ways I think there’s a few things you should know about me. I’m a hetero-sexual male Baby Boomer who loves reading contemporary romance and Melissa Foster is one of my favorite authors. I think I’ve read everything she’s published. Although she has so many series going at one time I can’t swear that I haven’t missed a release in one of them. Although I do try to pre-order them as soon as she announces a new title at the end of whatever of her current book is I’ve just finished even though their release dates are usually a year away. I love contemporary romance for the romance, the small town or large family happy feels, the steamy sex and most of all the happily ever after. That said, even though this book contains all of that, I wasn’t all that crazy about this book and why is the next thing I feel I should share with you about myself. As a man I find male protagonists who are afraid of emotional intimacy annoying. And even though the female protagonists really get turned on by it, I’m not fond of the dirty talk that sounds like it came from a cheesy porn movie. I’m also not a fan of Dom./Sub sex scenes. I know some men and women get off on it but for the life of me, I don’t understand why? Having the male protagonist order the female protagonist to “get down on your knees and suck my cock like a good girl” may turn the female protagonist on. It may turn some readers on. But like dirty talk, it does nothing for me. And for all the great things in this story all of that is also a part of it too. Which is why I only awarded this one 3.5 stars instead of 4 or 5 which is my usual ratings for a Melissa Foster book.
Our male protagonist is Blaine Wicked, oldest of the six Wicked siblings. Blaine is a protector and pretty much an all-around great guy. And of course like all contemporary romance male heroes, devastatingly handsome. My problem with Blaine is he spends most of this book so fearing emotional intimacy with our female protagonist Reece Wilder even though he’s obviously falling in love with her, I want to tell him he’s a chickenshit, get his head out of his ass and get out of his own way, even though he’d probably kick my ass. Every time he gets the feelings in his chest that he might be falling in love with Reece he fights them because he can’t begin to accept falling in love. Because, “Oh No!” if you love someone and something happens to them it is too painful! He’s also one of those dirty talking dominant in the bedroom guys. I suspect that’s because if he treats his sexual partner like a submissive he doesn’t have to show any real affection. It just keeps it all about sex. He’s so emotionally closed off when it comes to intimacy with a sexual partner that after they have sex for the first time he looks Reece in the eye and because he can’t help himself he tells her, “Your body is mine.” But when she responds, “As long as your body is mine too” he gets upset even though I’m sure he has every intention of being monogamous while he’s with Reece. It’s just the idea that saying it out loud implies they’re in some kind of a relationship. When they’re cleaning up in the shower after their first steamy sex interlude which involved him ramming his 9 inch cock down Reece’s throat and fucking her mouth until she chokes and then hammering her from behind (which Reece surprises herself by being more than good with), she asks him for a little post sex tenderness, he nearly balks acting like he has a fatal allergy to showing post coital tenderness, until she tells him if he can’t do it then she can’t continue to do him. It’s a major concession for him to give up control and let Reece get on top during sex. In every other way Blaine grows into a tremendous, supportive boyfriend to Reece. He helps her in every way possible even when she isn’t happy about it. He even helps her heal her relationship with Collette who is one angry teenager. But it takes him most of the book to acknowledge they’re a couple and even longer to utter those three little words. And that just annoyed the shit out of me. I just wanted Blaine to man up for god’s sake.
Reece Wilder is a wonderful female protagonist but she isn’t without her own issues. Her father abandoned her and her mother when she was eight years old. Her mother had substance abuse issues and was more interested in getting high than taking care of Reece and later her eleven years younger sister Collette whom her mother flat out despised. Fortunately, Reece had her beloved grandmother to lean on. Unfortunately, her grandmother passed away when Reece was thirteen leaving her to raise both herself and Colette while trying to protect Collette from their mother’s ugliness. As Reece grew older and began dating when her boyfriends discovered she and Collete were a package deal they didn’t stick around. So Reece has learned not to trust and definitely not to depend on anyone. When this story opens Reece is destitute for money because she’s trying to pay off her mother’s (who is in court ordered rehab) debt to ICE her violent drug dealer, pay the rent on her own apartment while living with Collette at her mother’s run-down dump and catching up on all the past due bills her mother left when she got sent to rehab. When Blaine saves her from being raped at a bachelor party at which she’d stupidly accepted a job as a hostess/stripper to earn extra cash, she’s pissed and tells him she could have handled it herself. Which she couldn’t. When he drives her home and she discovers Collette is throwing a beer blast and Blaine helps her get rid of all the underaged partiers and then picks up all the trash she again gets pissed, telling him she doesn’t need his help. If Blaine is afraid to let himself love anyone outside of his family and the Dark Knights, Reece is afraid to depend upon the help of others.
Eventually as Blaine continues to show up and perform acts of kindness for her asking nothing in return but runs hot and cold in the flirting department, Reece begins to reluctantly accept his help and Reece begins to unknowingly break down the walls Blaine has erected around his heart. And eventually their sexual chemistry is too much for either to resist. Blaine not so gradually introduces Reece to his “wicked ways’ which is pretty much the BD part of BDSM. And of course it stretches her boundaries along with a few of her body parts and she loves it. Blaine introduces Reece and Collette to his immediate and extended family of Dark Knights who all embrace both of them and give them the loving family their own parents never did. Again there’s plenty of romance if you can call it that with Blaine’s stubborn resistance to accept that’s what it is. There’s definitely some steamy (some would say kinky) sex scenes. There’s warm family feels as Blaine helps Collette and Reece renew their sisterly bond. There’s the happy feels of the Wickeds and the extended Dark Knight family protecting and embracing the Wilder sisters. There’s drama with the threat of Ice and what happens when Reece and Colette’s mother finally gets out of rehab. And of course there’s a happily ever after. I just can’t quite get past some of Blaine’s behavior.

The Bulldozer and The Buttercup = One Steamy Read you won't want to put down!

I can't say enough great things about Melissa Foster's books. Whenever I pick one up, I feel like I am reuniting with old friends and catching up on everything in their lives. In HIS WICKED WAYS, we have Blaine Wicked, the Bulldozer, and Reese Wilder, aka Buttercup. These two will steal your heart with how overprotective they are, BUT they each hold a bit of vulnerability. With Reese, it's how she cared for her sister Colette since she was born. She is like a bulldog with a bone if anyone interferes with her ability to do so. With Blaine, he cares for EVERYONE in his orbit. His siblings, his biker family, friends, EVERYONE....but who takes care of him?

Holy WOW. This book is incredible!!!

“Buttercup, I have been in love with you for weeks, and I fall deeper in love with you every minute of the day. I know I suck at opening up, but if you’re patient with me, I will do whatever it takes to be the man you and Lettie need me to be. The man you both deserve and can be so fucking proud of, you’ll never doubt my love again.” - His Wicked Ways, Melissa Foster.

It's been two days since this book was out, almost three weeks since I read it and I am still not over it.
It's no secret that I am addicted to everything Melissa Foster writes and I'd read her books the moment I had them on my hands. I've been very excited to read about Blaine and the woman who'll tame him for a long time. And I wanted someone to give him back the hard time he gave Mads and Tobias in The Wicked Truth, I expected banter and spice and angst and I was not disappointed. I dare to say this is Melissa's hottest book so far, she delivered with this story and she delivered gooood and I found myself with a new top favourite Wicked book.

This book is an absolute banger and deserves an infinity of stars. I was completely hooked from the first pages and once I started reading I couldn't stop reading until I finished it.

I said this before and I say it again, Melissa's writing is amazing she is a master story teller her words flow smoothly and she created worlds you can clearly and easily imagine and I just love that about her books.

Blaine and Reece are amazing complicated characters and each had their flaws, imperfections and special qualities. We go into this story having an idea about who Blaine is from what we saw of him in the other books, a bull headed over protective older brother/cousin, but here we get to know the real him and understand him better and why he is the way he is and why he is so set against labels and relationships. Reece is a new character we get to know in this story, and I absolutely loved her. She is a badass forensic scientist, an older protective sister, resilient, wicked smart, sweet, and hella strong.

Their relationship had lots of ups and downs, and the road for them to get really together hasn't been easy but it was all very enjoyable to read. They had a hard time communicating at first due to the way each of them has lived, Blaine shouldering everything on his own and Reece never admiting she needs help. But after they crashed and talked they just clicked and started a relationship built on healthy communication and trust. Also the spice in this book was off the charts good, definitely the spiciest book in the series!

I loved seeing old characters from this series and another one too. I also love the strong family bonds Melissa always writes about, found family trope is one of my favourites and I just love reading about families.

I am really thankful I got an ARC of this book and read it before its release (and reread it after too lol) and I just adored this story and it's definitely one of my top favourite book releases of 2023.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Melissa Foster has mastered the art of penning steamy and heart-warming romances. An art which she aptly reflected in her latest release, His Wicked Ways. This is book 5 in The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside series. Like all her books, it can be read as a stand alone.

His Wicked Ways gives us Blaine Wicked, the eldest and most protective one of all the Wicked siblings. Blaine is commitment shy and one ventured deeper into the story the reason is made clear. So when he rescued Reese Wilder from a treacherous situation, the last thing he expected was to fall head over heels for her.

Reese has a lot on her plate, one of which involves taking care of her fifteen-year-old sister. Her need to make extra money led to a situation, where she needed rescuing. Now, when Blaine learned the reason for her being in such a situation, he amped up his mission to help and protect her, despite her many objections.

"He’s like a boomerang. No matter how many times I tried to send him away, he kept coming back."

This book was a delight to read. Once again, Foster delivered a story with which readers can relate. A story of love, healing, family friendships and overcoming adversity. This story shows that family doesn't necessarily consist of persons related to each other. Instead, it's made of a group of people offering support and love. A fact Reese learnt when the Wicked embraced her and her teenage sister, Colette.

Of all the Wicked brothers, Blaine is the most overprotective. When it comes to protecting those he loves, he's rather zealous. To the point that one may consider it overbearing. Reese is a great heroine. Strong, determined, independent, caring and stubborn. She had a hard time accepting Blaine's help due to her issues of trust. Besides, men don't normally offer to help without an ulterior motive. She would learn in due time that Blaine's actions were coming from a place of honesty, integrity and compassion.

"He’d burn down the world for the people he loves."

Ah! The romance will have readers swooning. Blaine claims he's not a romantic, but I beg to differ. The way he treats Reese belies that statement. The things he did for her, literally had me swooning. He may be a badass biker, but when he loves, he loves hard. It warmed my heart to see how he accepted Colette like his own sibling, snarky behaviour and all.

Whenever one picks up one of Melissa's books, one can expect not only a wonderful romance, but also humour and fun times with family and friends. She did not disappoint in His Wicked Ways.

His wicked Ways is another great addition to this awesome series, and one which I highly recommend for romance readers. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

Hɪs Wɪᴄᴋᴇᴅ Wᴀʏs (The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside 5) | Melissa Foster
4.5 Maple Leafs | 5 Flames

The Wickeds, and the Wiskeys, are everything you need in your life. This found family is my favourite to curl up and get lost in, take the emotional rollercoaster ride and this is another fantastic addition to the Love in Bloom collection.

Blaine was never one to be tied down until his eyes landed on Reese one night at a party and she captivated him completely. As Blaine tries to only be himself and a Dark Knight around Reese, she slowly puts him under her spell and has him opening up to her and ultimately falling for her.

Blaine Wicked truly lives up to his name all while Reese puts him under her spell. I loved watching Blaine and Reese go back and forth with their banter while trying to ignore their connection but once they gave into their chemistry there was no stopping them and they absolutely set the pages of the book on fire. I loved how Blaine was able to get Reese's sister Colette to open up and grow.

I also love the little updates that we get throughout the book about the other Wickeds and the Whiskeys. I am looking forward to coming back to this world, hopefully, sooner rather than later.

Audio → Jacob Morgan and Andi Arndt did a fantastic job bringing the characters, all the emotions and the story to life.

Get ready for…

Small Town | MC | Age Gap | Close Proximity | Protective Hero | Single Guardian | Touch Her and Die | Found Family | Third-Person POV (Dual)

Be mindful that this book contains bondage, drugs (use/abuse, sc), abuse (emotional), human trafficking (sc), and violence.

His Wicked Ways is as hot as it is sweet and I didn’t want the story to end!! Blaine & Reese gave as good as they got but they helped each other heal just as much! Blaine was a gorgeous man with a grizzly controlling nature who had a heart of gold. The way he cared about and protected everyone had me swooning the entire time. He embraced Reese’s little sister and really helped her come out of her shell and learn to trust people. Same for Reese - family took on a whole new life changing meaning for Blaine’s girls! I loved the necklace and his tattoos and the meaning behind them! The surprise Reese gave to Blaine was beautiful & between Mother’s Day, the meaning behind the necklace & the garden I was teary eyed! I could get lost in Blaine’s Wicked Ways forever!

I received a copy of this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Another 5 star all consuming read from Melissa Foster. This woman can’t write a bad book.
I can’t believe this is the first book I’ve read in this series. I want to put life on hold and just binge it from the beginning.
I absolutely loved Reese and Blaine together. This couple went through so much character and emotional development, I was blown away.
An alpha man with a rough exterior, part of an MC club, who can only be soft and loving for the right woman.
He is tall, dark and addicting.
Reese is such a strong independent character. Growing up practically raising her little sister while paying off her mother’s illegal debts, she will do anything it takes to keep her sister safe.
This story just touched my heart . And the spice was TOP TIER. The mouth on Blaine was 🔥🔥🔥.
I loved how all the side characters are such an integral part of the story, the author makes you feel like you’re front and center in the story and part of their family.
I love the Wickeds and can’t wait for all the rest of their stories !

His Wicked Ways is the 5th book in The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside series. This one is Blaine Wicked's story. Visiting with the Wickeds is always like coming home. I love this family and their bond. He meets Reese at a bachelor party. He immediately notices she is like a fish out of water. He only wants to help her and walk away, but instead, he can't get her out of his mind. Reese is used to doing everything for herself. She has a hard time letting others help her. Now that she has to take care of her sister, she is finding it harder to say no.

I really enjoyed this one. I loved Reese and Blaine together. Their attraction was intense and while I loved that, what I liked even more was their friendship. I felt like they were able to foster that along with their physical attraction. I devoured their book and loved watching Blaine's walls slowly break down. I really loved what Reese did for him in the end. Along with the romance, we are treated to a great friendship that develops between Blaine and Colette, Reese's sister. It was fun and adorable. As always, I highly recommend this one. It can be read as a stand alone, so pick it up!

(Received an ARC.....voluntarily reviewing)

I loved watching Blaine and Reese open up to one another and slowly realize that it's okay to be vulnerable and let the other person in. Blaine was actually a pain in the butt in the previous book, The Wicked Truth (You don't need to read it to fully understand this one. His actions in that book are also explained in this one.), but he really redeems himself in this one. And while he can be intense at times, his heart is definitely in the right place.

Reese sort of acted like an audience surrogate for me. There were times when she asked questions about Blaine's confusing signals and his lifestyle that I also had and I really appreciate her calling him on it. Her backstory is pretty dark (and made me want to hug her at times) and I don't blame her for not wanting to open up right away. She's also dealing with raising her teenage sister, who has her own set of struggles.

All in all, a very heartwarming book......you might need some tissues towards the end.

In another Melissa Foster book that hooked me in, had me swooning, and left me wanting more.

Every book in this series has been a winner, but Blaine and Reese are a little extra. Blaine has the right intentions, from his first meeting with Reese, but his alpha personality can be a little intense at times. While his heart is in the right place.

I love Reese, she has moxy, and is not afraid to call Blaine on the carpet. She puts her sister first and while it is not an easy job, she has done a good job raising her, even with her teenage angst, and own troubles.

Your heart will take a beating, frustrations will be high, but worth the read.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

I docked a star as sometimes the story felt like it was written to meet analytics. What will sell the best. This was straight up wish fulfilment contemporary romance in fantasy land.

It annoys me when poetic licence is taken with serious real-world situations in contemporary novels in order to create drama. In this case the decision not to pursue custody for fear younger sister would end up in foster care, the older sister was a 26 yr old well educated professional in a crime lab, there was no reality whatsoever where she wouldn't have got custody from drug addicted mother who had history with police. Half the drama wouldn't have been necessary. But then the story wouldn't have been "edgy". 🙄

Love getting back into the Wicked brothers! Reese has her hands full with her sister acting out and trying to fix everything that her mother has done and involved them in, and she’s wearing thin. All that changes when she meets Blaine, and he swoops in and makes all the changes in her life that are for the better for both her and her sister. Both Reese and Blaine are hesitant and cautious towards new people, but they end up being the perfect match for each other! I love that Melissa also gives us the suspense in each book that I look forward to, and this book did not disappoint with that aspect.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is first book I’ve read with motorcycle club romance. I really enjoyed it, and I can’t wait to read more books like this. Also hoping theirs a series about Claudette, I loved her so much, reminds me a lot of my little sister.

Blaine's the overprotective one (of many) in his family, protecting and caring for everyone he loves. When he sees a beautiful, but clearly out of her comfort zone, woman, at a bachelor party, he instantly wants to rescue her from one of the attendees who's not taking the word no for an answer. But though Reese may be younger than he, and not living in the best situation, she makes it clear she's not a damsel in distress and won't bend to his bossy ways. She may let him into her arms, but her heart? He'll have to work double time for that, to get past her sky high walls.

Reese isn't sure what to make of the hot but very bossy guy who helped her out at the bachelor party she was working for extra money. She doesn't have time for him, not with trying to raise her teen sister, who's thwarting her every attempt to guide her, and working more than one job to deal with the situation her mother has put them in. But it seems this hot biker isn't about to be deterred from entrenching himself into her and Colette's lives. What's a woman to do when met with a protective heart all wrapped up in a gorgeous, dominating package?

I am the first one to say that normally, bossy doesn't work for me. My own momma raised me to be too independent to put up with a guy (or anyone) telling me what to do. But in Blaine, it's somehow more than appealing, and Reese couldn't resist it or him for very long. Oh, don't get me wrong, she put him in his place far more than he was used to, as much as he deserved, but he never quite lost that bossiness that's at his core. Because it's all wrapped up with the overprotective, soft heart of his, the combination is lethal. Their chemistry is positively sizzling - she's feisty and independent and brings him to his knees, he's bossy and sweet at the same time, and plays her body like he was born for it, and the way they fall so hard and intensely is really Melissa's signature. I love these Wickeds - bring on more!!

I absolutely loved His Wicked Ways by Melissa Foster; it is an incredible love at first sight age gap love story. It is the fifth book in her The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside series. I love The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside series and am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. Melissa Foster has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. I love that she continues to write the books that I love to read and is one of my favorite authors to read. It was impossible to put His Wicked Ways down and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? One of my favorite parts is that I love how the title of the book is incorporated into the love story. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. His Wicked Ways is a love at first sight age gap love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. His Wicked Ways is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Melissa Foster did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. I love how Melissa Foster always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy biker. His Wicked Ways is the story of Reese Wilder, forensic scientist and caretaker for her fifteen-year-old sister, Colette and dirty talking Blaine Wicked, co-owner of Cape Stone, a stone distribution and masonry company. I love how Melissa Foster described them as being so similar and so different. Blaine and Reese meet at a bachelor party for a friend from high school, where Reese is expected to be a performer and not a host that she applied for online. Blaine stops the groom from taking advantage of Reese and escorts her home. Reese has car trouble, so Blaine calls Tobias to get her car and repair it and then takes Reese home. Conversation between Blaine and Reese flows so easily, with innuendos and naughty banter, and Blaine constantly flirting with Reese causing her to blush and I love that they each share secrets with one another that they never shared with anyone before. Reese shares secrets about her mother and sister, and Blaine shares secrets about how deaths in his family have impacted him, especially a stray dog he took care of as a child. Reese’s mother is in court mandated rehab, so she moved back into her mother’s house to take care of Colette, even though their relationship is not the best. Reese shares that the reason she took the job at the bachelor party is that she needed the money to repay her mother’s boyfriend, who is really her drug dealer. I love that Blaine gave Reese an opportunity to make money by asking her to create a garden at his house, even though she did not know the house was Blaine’s. Things heat up quickly between Blaine and Reese as they spend time together. Blaine believes that he is not good enough for Reese and that he cannot be the man she needs, especially since he likes to take control in the bedroom. As they spend time together, Blaine realizes that Colette might suffer from dyslexia, and with his brother’s help they were both able to help Colette with school. Neither Reese nor Blaine is looking for a relationship or love, Reese has been disappointed from past relationships and Blaine does not do relationships. A plot twist puts Colette’s life in danger and Blaine and the Dark Knights rescue her. I love everything that Blaine does for both Reese and Colette, even though Reese is uncomfortable with him spending his money. I love that Blaine and Reese finally admit their true feelings for one another. I love the ending of their love story. I love how both Blaine and Reese change because of their love for one another, especially how Reese realizes she is not alone. I think dirty talking Blaine might be my favorite Wicked, and I love how he changed his wicked ways with his proposal. My favorite part is the thank you gift that Reese creates for Blaine at his house with the help of his father and brothers. I also love the street name that Reese created for Blaine since he does not have one. I love how all the Wickeds come to support Reese and Colette, regardless of her mother. His Wicked Ways is filled with poignant and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists. I love the characters and the family dynamic in His Wicked Ways the characters feel like family and friends. It felt like a family reunion, catching up with the other characters in the series. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Wicked siblings and cousins, and Reese’s interactions with them, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I love that Reese finally has girlfriends and that Colette also made new friends. I loved all the characters in His Wicked Ways, especially Junie and Rosie. Love the name that Chloe and Maverick gave their daughter. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed His Wicked Ways, who does not love a love at first sight opposites attract love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story and am so looking forward to reading the other books in the series. I received an advanced copy from the author.

'Wicked by name, Wicked by nature. Blaine Wicked lives up to his name--and more--in this wickedly thrilling instalment of the Dark Knights at Bayside series' - The British Bibliophile

Thank you to Melissa's PA, Lisa, and to Melissa for sending me an ebook Advanced Readers Copy for me to read and leave an honest review

NOTE - This review will be spoiler-free as standard, but will make reference to the book's blurb. If you wish to go into this read blind and not knowing a thing about it until you read it yourself, please scroll away from my review now :)

His Wicked Ways is the fifth book in Melissa Foster's The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside series, giving us another bad boy biker to get our hands around. This time up front and centre is Blaine Wicked.

We've had snippets of perhaps the kinkiest Wicked of them all here and there in past books in the series, but this is where he's really going to be large and fully in charge. Literally. Even when it comes down to strangers he's never met, he's going to give it his all and be the one who keeps things firmly in-hand. Again, literally.

Blaine is the kind of man who's used to women doing whatever he wants, however he wants. This applies equally to outside of the bedroom as much as it does in it. Imagine the unprecedented turn of events when the man who falls for no one does so, and with the one woman on the planet who's crossed his path, that won't submit. He's got his work cut out for him in more ways than one, now that she's riding pillion with him on the road he's rolling down.

Being the person who can spot danger a mile away and trouble like finding a needle in a haystack, his protector instincts kick in full-force when he rescues the most awkward stripper known to man--with one hell of a mouth--from an evening he'd rather not be attending. His night instantly got better with his innocent-as-all-get-out stripper safely in his truck and on the road to where she really belongs. Only when they get there, he finds it hard once leaning a few things about her, to walk away.

Reece Wilder--awkward stripper in question--, like many of us, never imagined to be in the situation she was put in the night that Wilder met Wicked. But just like Blaine, she is as much of a protector as he is in her own way. She'll do anything, literally anything, to keep food on her little sister's plate and to be her soul provider when she has no one else to do so. With their mother back in rehab for the third time, it's down to Reece to clear up all the mess and settle all and any debts on her mother's behalf. Or else, there will be consequences. She's had it more than rough for longer than she has ever deserved, and thus she knows not to go asking for help. So what happens when a biker with the most piercing blue eyes keeps pushing for her to take his? A lot, that's what.

With her pride and determination just as big and fiery as his own, with everything that he throws at her she's right there stoking the flames. She'll soon learn that Blaine is not the type of man to run at the first sight of sparks, but instead will walk tall, proud and through the flames risking its damage to be there for her. Having no one in her life like this before, this is going to be a challenging pill to swallow but as we soon will learn, she'll do that with Blaine no problem.

She just has to make sure that her little sister isn't caught in the middle and suffers any consequences of what is going on around her, and with Reece and Blaine. Above all, her little sister comes first.

With every Melissa Foster novel, there's always this sense and lesson in overcoming adversity, but it's always different in each novel. The challenge and the one after the hero--or heroine--presented comes at us from a different angle and gives us nothing but pure reading entertainment each and every single time. This time is no different, and it came with a dash of realism that to me, made all the difference in the story's impact. I always feel that the more real the story--the more of it that could happen in reality in the real world--the more impressive the overall story. Reece's story and background is especially realistic and I commend Melissa in telling it with respect and integrity.

Of course, all the heavy aside, I can't not talk about the steam that's also born from his book. With the exception of book two, The Wicked Aftermath that I haven't read, this book and thanks to Blaine mostly, has to be the steamiest one of them all. You wouldn't know it at first that this biker boy has a kinky streak, but I'm grateful that he does and that Melissa has written us some pretty spicy, lip-biting scenes for us to appreciate. And appreciate. And appreciate.

It's firmly cemented now that I'm a Wicked girl through and through, and I can say with certainty that I'm very proud to so far give this series 5 stars per book because honestly? Any less would be a lie from my personal perspective.

Eagerly awaiting the revving of engines for our sixth dive into these men in Talk Wicked To Me where we'll see jokester Baz be knocked for six--your British term of phrase for the day--by his own unexpected circumstances.

Five stars!

His Wicked Ways is the newest installment in the Wicked series and is Blaine and Reese’s story. This was a fantastic read that was difficult to put down because, duh, it was the newest Wicked story! On the outside it wouldn’t look like Blaine and Reese would be similar but they are. The need for control and protectiveness that each possess is eerily comparable as is their overall goodness and vulnerabilities. Obviously the story is full of Melissa Foster’s steam and Dark Knights family. As much as I always enjoy the spice in these stories, and Blaine’s is HOT, this time my heart is ALL over the family and friends aspect.

We’ve met Blaine in previous stories and know him to be a take charge, uber alpha type that doesn’t really worry about stepping on anyone’s toes. He fiercely does what he thinks is best and makes no apologies. Honestly I had a tough time with him in Madigan’s story and wondered if he would be able to redeem himself. He did. It helped that we got his back story which was WAY deeper than I expected and explains much of why he is why he is. His stepping in to save Reese when he met her truly shows who he is and how is wired. Seeing him become so perplexed with his feelings for Reese was cute. She was his Buttercup. He truly cemented his place in my heart as I watched him forge a relationship with Colette separate from Reese. He took her under his wing and showed her love and care just like a true older brother would. Watching Lettie respond to that was touching.

Reese was such a nice surprise. How could you not love this smart and loving woman who was a terrible dancer and stripper? Every time I read about her attempts to dance I just grinned – these silly shortcomings just made her so real to me and she felt like a friend. Reese has had SUCH a tough life and she is doing everything in her power to raise her teenage sister and deal with the disaster of a life that her mother left for them. She is strong, smart and caring – she has had to be all her life because there was no one else there for her. She doesn’t know what to do with Blaine and all of his attention. She doesn’t trust it or him, yet he keeps showing up and doing things for her and Colette. No matter how much she tries to push him away, he stubbornly refuses to go and doubles down to do even more! He was her Bulldozer. As the two become closer, we learn more of Reese’s backstory and it is more heartbreaking than Blaine’s. Watching them navigate their relationship, become closer and change for one another was really heartwarming. Reese allowing Blaine to truly develop a relationship with Colette, outside of her, was watching them cement the beginning of their little family. This aspect added another depth to the relationship and to the story.

Watching the Dark Knights and the Wicked women take in Reese and Colette and make them theirs just melted my heart. Showing the girls what real family is and how they behave to one another was one of my favorite parts. I also LOVED how the women took Reese under their wing and instantly made her one of their own. She saw the friendships and realized that she was missing out on so much. I also loved watching Colette make friends her own age who were good kids and came from good families so that family continued to be reinforced. When things took a dangerous turn and Reese needed help, all the Dark Knights and their women were there for her.

My absolute FAVORITE part of the story was Grandpa Wicked’s moment with Blaine. Grandpa has been in several other stories and we have seen him be a rascal and up to mischief, but this story showed his heart and no one could have gotten through to Blaine like his Grandpa did. For me, it cemented why the Wicked Parents are so awesome – they had amazing role models! It’s been over a week and I still have the feels over that scene!

While it is VERY hard to choose favorite books or families of Ms. Foster’s, the Wicked’s are mine (though the Whiskey’s are a VERY close second)! The way that Ms. Foster can weave together these couples and families that have many a hard edge, she does so skillfully and has made me love each and every character in the Dark Knight world. I can’t wait to see what Baz is all about and catch up with more Wickeds in the future!

This is the fifth book in this series, but as any Melissa Foster fan knows, all her books link back together and give you all the family, love, commitment, and steamy romance that you could ever desire!

Blaine Wicked has always been the responsible one as the eldest son, and he would rather see everyone else happy than find it himself. He loves his family’s stonemasonry business, and rides with the Dark Knights, following family tradition. At a bachelor party he would have rather avoided, he notices that one of the 'dancers' is really not keen, and his spidey senses ensure he keeps an eye. A broken-down car later, he is committed to looking out for her, as it is clear that she is in trouble.

Reese has pulled herself up by the bootstraps, but her mother insists on dragging her back down. I loved her chirpiness, her deep-seated belief that she was doing the very best to give her sister a chance in life and that their mother would not ruin her life. As we learn why she is such a passionate advocate for her less than cheerful sister, we cannot help but admire Reese even more. And as we fall under her spell, so does Blaine.

Is the road smooth – no, of course not, but it is full of love, acceptance, and a sexual awakening of epic proportions as Blaine teaches Reese just how much fun two people can have when they are in sync! She definitely enjoys taking a chance, although she remembers his warning of not being someone who does relationships.

Another lovely, intense, dramatic, and yet family-filled installment – what is not to love? Thank you again, Melissa Foster, for a great read.

As with all of the Wicked men and the Dark Knights, they protect women, children, and those needing their protection.

When Blaine is at a bachelor party with a few friends, he sees Reese being manhandled by the man of the party. Blaine steps in and is soon being put in his place for trying to help. Reese Wilder has always taken care of herself and her sister, Colette. Although she is drawn to Blaine, she doesn't need a man to take care of her. When Blaine thinks he is helping, she puts him in his place. The more time they spend together, the more the sparks fly. Blaine doesn't know what to do with the feelings he’s feeling because he has never had them before. All he wants to do is keep Reese and Colette safe.

When trouble comes knocking on Reese's door, Blaine and the Dark Knights step up and come to the rescue.

I love the way this author takes these big bad men who never do relationships and in comes the one that steals their hearts. I was sad for Reese and Colette and the way they were brought up. But Reese was doing all she could so Colette could have something more. It is wonderful the way Blaine took to Colette and helped her too. Author Melissa Foster has all of her series intertwined in some way, so I recommend this author to anyone looking for a new author to read or this story for anyone who needs something a little Wicked. You will not be disappointed.

4.5stars. HIS WICKED WAYS is the fifth instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult THE WICKEDS: DARK KNIGHTS AT BAYSIDE erotic, romance series- a part of the author’s LOVE IN BLOOM world.. This is thirty-four year old, businessman Blaine Wicked, and twenty-six year old, forensic scientist Reese Wilder’s story line. HIS WICKED WAYS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual omniscient third person perspectives (Blaine and Reese) HIS WICKED WAYS follows the building relationship between our story line couple. While attending a late night gathering at a local bar, Blaine suspects one of the ‘dancers’ is out of her element, and struggling to keep the perverts and creeps at bay. Rescuing our heroine comes with troubles of their own, when Reese Wilder confronts a car that doesn’t work, and a house party thrown by her fifteen year old sister Collette. Always one to rescue and protect, Blaine takes control, pushing himself into the life of a woman who is determined to make it on her own but all is not as it appears to be when Blaine discovers Reese is forced to pay off her mother’s debts, debts that are threatening the woman with whom he will fall in love. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Blaine and Reese, and the potential fall-out when Reese and her sister Collette are targeted for someone else’s sins.

As with most of the author’s stories and series, the world building continues to focus on the large extended, supportive and colorful families, all interconnected by blood, marriage, friendships and love. Having raised her sister Collette from birth, Reese struggles to accept any help, and issues of trust complicate the matter.

The relationship between Reese and Blaine begins acrimoniously. Blaine is a protector, and he battles between head and heart knowing Reese does not want any help, and Blaine is the first to jump in when something goes wrong. As Reese and Blaine’s relationship begins to blossom, our couple’s secrets threaten the slow building love. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, there is a very large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters from all of the interconnected series and stories including Blaine’s large extended family, and Reese’s sister Collette.

Similarly to all of Melissa Foster’s books, HIS WICKED WAYS is a story of family, friendships, relationships and love, secrets and lies, forgiveness, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating, inviting, and gripping ; the characters are sassy, lively and spirited; the romance is edgy and emotional.

ARC reçu en échange d’un avis honnête

TW: Drogue, agression, viol (mention), violence, abus

Right away, we are introduced to Blaine the non-romantic, closed-off hardass biker. He helps Reese out of a bad spot she gets in, acknowledges an attraction, but knows she won’t be able to handle his idea of fun in the bedroom.

But, then he starts falling for her (stubbornly refusing to see it as that, of course). I swear these are my favorite romances … the ones where the hero or heroine denies the attraction until they can’t deny it anymore.

As he opens up to Reese, I also loved watching how he interacted with Colette (Reese’s younger sister). He treated her like his own little sibling right from the beginning, welcoming not only Reese into his family, but Colette as well. This is the Wicked way of life and I love it!

Even though Blaine says he’s not romantic, the little things he does for Reese scream the opposite. There is a mushy heart at the center of this badass biker.

If this book taught me anything, it’s that I’m not ready to parent a teenager. Oh my gosh, I struggled with Colette’s snarky (read: bitchy) teenage attitude. In the beginning, she’s a serious attitude-wielding teenager. BUUUTTT (you knew that one was coming), I liked watching her open up throughout the book. And as she found friends within the Dark Knights family, she really grew into a snarky, sweet teenager. I look forward to seeing more of her in the future.

I’ve read books by Melissa before that had disability reps in them and it was nice to see how she wove dyslexia into Colette’s story. It tied back to Zander and Zeke all over again (and we all know I love those two boys!) but it was nice to see how Zeke stepped in and offered help to Colette so she didn’t feel like an outsider.

I never would have thought of audiobooks as a way to help dyslexic people enjoy reading, though it’s just one more reason why I absolutely love them and believe they are TOTALLY real books!

I love the Dark Knights motorcycle club so much!! And the best part about HIS WICKED WAYS was seeing them all come together (200+ people, if I read right) to celebrate their president (Preacher – that’s Blaine’s dad)’s birthday. So many family and close friends of the family. All strong, broody bikers … and of course, a cake-sneaking Grandpa!

The Wickeds embraced Reese and her sister like it was the most natural thing in the world. I especially loved Blaine’s sister, Madigan, and his mother, Reba.

I’m not sure what it is about the older generation when Melissa writes them (think: Bra Brigade from Silver Island 🤣) but I adore the grandparents! I adored Gramps and all his sugary shenanigans. What really stood out to me, though, was the way he talked about his late wife. There is so much emotion and love there! The advice he gives Blaine (who is trying to work through his overly emotional attachment to Reese) is perfect and had me in tears.

A blushing buttercup befuddles and bowls over the non-apologetic, breaking boundaries Bulldozer!
His Wicked Ways (The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside Book 5) by Melissa Foster stole my attention and held me captive the entire book with her characters, the romance, the steam, the setting and a story that is equally suspenseful as it is beautiful. Sprinkled throughout are beloved characters from previous books along with nuggets of the past that made Blaine and Reese what they are in the present. These two are so much alike and yet seemingly worlds apart. It was absolute entertainment and thrilling finding out all the things about this couple. His Wicked Ways is not only dark and demanding adding to the thrills, but also the danger Blaine finds Reese in in more than one way.
And Blaine! Holy smokes! Blaine is a walking contradiction, conundrum and creator of complications. He may be smoking hot, demanding and drool worthy, but sometimes oblivious and beyond stubborn. Reese also holds onto plenty of stubbornness through her need for control in all aspects of her life. She is whipsmart, fierce, yet sweet and shy while almost as protective as Blaine. As with all Dark Knights, alpha protective tendencies no matter what runs in their DNA and Blaine fulfills his role above and beyond any other.
In His Wicked Ways, Melissa Foster delivers probably her hottest book yet. I’m talking heart racing, pulse pounding steamy scenes that could make any reader blush! Blaine caused heart palpitations with his never-ending dirty, I mean super hot, FILTHY, and oh so demanding talk. Reese may need control just as much as Blaine and I love how these two come to realize how well they compliment each other in that regard. As much as they challenge each other, they also connect deeply and find what has been missing in both of their lives. Both of them held themselves apart from letting anyone other than family close. The beauty of their love story is how their perplexing (poor Blaine is utterly confused and at a loss about his feelings) connection makes everything better, makes them want things neither Blaine nor Reese ever thought they would.
Overall, this book is Wicked and Wilder, taking the reader into the steamy romance stratosphere with all the things romance readers love about it, especially Melissa Foster romance and then some. I would give 10 stars if I could, continue to gush and sing this book’s praises, but what is most important to me is that this author treats her characters well and in the end, Blaine and Reese’s HEA is absolutely guaranteed while leaving the reader simultaneously satisfied and wanting more.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

This is book five in The Wickeds : Dark Knights at Bayside series and it is Blaine and Reese’s story and omg it is definitely a must read. Blaine was at a bachelor party and he really didn’t want to be there but went with a friend but while watching the dancer’s one of them stood out and she intrigued Blaine as she not only looked like she didn’t belong but also she was uncomfortable and as Blaine is part of The Dark Knights Biker Family protecting people was in his blood and he knew that something was wrong and followed his gut instinct he ended up rescuing Reese from a really bad situation. Reese is a forensic scientist and worked in the crime laboratory but with the mess and debts her mother was in Reese was trying to look after her sister Colette who she had taken care of since she was a baby and there lives had not been easy in fact at the moment it was a complete mess and Reese needed to make more money and that is how she ended up at a bachelor party only for Blaine to come to her rescue when things got out of hand. Blaine is a protector, has built his walls so high around him that it would take a very special person to break through them, caring, handsome, a really dirty talker so make sure that you have a cold drink ready because you are going to need it and Blaine has a take charge attitude that gets him into trouble and heated arguments and then you have Reese who is kind, caring, stands no messing, has walls that are so high that it will take a special person to break them down, sassy, beautiful inside and out, intelligent, had a terrible life because of her mother, loves so hard especially her sister Colette who Reese will protect with everything that she has regardless of what she will have to do so together Blaine and Reese are absolutely explosive. When Blaine and Reese meet the attraction and chemistry is instant, hot and intense and there journey together will not be a easy one especially as they are both strong willed and don’t give up control very easy but when they eventually come together it is absolutely explosive and beautiful to see. This is such a heartbreaking story that will have you in tears so many times so make sure that you have the tissues ready but I absolutely love this family as they are so caring, protective and once you are in there circle you have a family for life that will always be there for you and everyone else which is exactly what a family should be. I read this book in one sitting until the early hours of the morning because I just couldn’t put it down as it was so addictive. Melissa Foster is an amazing author and writer and her books are definitely worth reading and I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series.

His Wicked Ways (The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside Book #5) (Love in Bloom Book #90) by Melissa Foster.
The Love in Bloom series proved to be a heartwarming journey through love, family, and personal growth. Spanning multiple interconnected series/stories, it offers a wonderful blend of romance, humor, and emotional depth that kept me reading the whole way through.
Ms. Foster crafted fully developed, relatable, and multidimensional characters who added an extra element of emotion and interest to my overall reading experience. The heroes are fiercely loyal and endearing, while the heroines are smart, empowered, and refreshingly ‘real’. Each character feels like someone you could know in real life, making their struggles and triumphs, high and lows, all the more impactful.
The stories have a perfect balance of steamy romance mixed with heartfelt moments. But that doesn’t mean that Ms. Foster shies away from exploring deeper themes like forgiveness, self-discovery, and the complexities of relationships – adding dynamic layers to the storyline/s. But, despite the emotional depth, the series still maintains more of a lighthearted charm, sprinkled with humor and tender family connections.
While each novel can be read as a standalone, there is an interconnectedness with the recurring characters and overlapping storylines - which help create a sense of community that feels warm and inviting. It’s like being welcomed into a big, loving family where everyone has a worthwhile story to tell.
‘Within the Love in Bloom big-family romance collection you'll find fiercely loyal heroes and smart, empowered women on their search for true love. They're flawed, funny, and easy to relate to. Characters from each series appear in future Love in Bloom books…’
