i read this on wattpad an eternity ago and it still amazed me. this had everything i needed in a fantasy book and more (plus conan blackwell was in it 😩) astra, my girl was such a good and strong mc, AND LEIA AND KANE 😩🫶🫶🫶 MY BABIES. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH

This book has become a sense of comfort and happiness. I’m obsessed with this story, it’s characters, and beautifully written words. This story is unlike any other I’ve read, with the shifting between different characters’ perspectives to the concept of a world divided by faeries and glades and driven by the desire for power and need for destruction. I found the characters to be lovable and quite relatable, which is why they’re one of the main things I loved most about the story. The development of the enemies to lovers arc between Astra and Conan was captivating and beautiful, perfectly written to express the division of light and darkness and how through their undeniable connection they were able to come together and form as one, defeating and overpowering the evil and darkness that once consumed them. As the characters embark on a mission to hunt down the killer of Astra’s family they find themselves going down an unwinding path of secrets, betrayal, and dark passion that was just riveting.

The relationships between the characters and the plot of the story are why this book will forever be one of my favorites. You have done an exceedingly great job at writing and bringing this story to life and I can’t wait to see what you do next. :)

Almost two years ago this was the first book I ever actually read fully lmao, but I remember seeing a TikTok by the author and so I decided to make a Wattpad account and read the book. It was so well written I didn’t put it down once! I read it until like 4am and weeks later I had already read tons of other books. This book completely sparked my interest for reading and it deserves way more than 5 stars in my opinion.
I’ve read tons of books now and I can still confirm that this is by far my favourite. The author of this book does such an amazing job with her writing, I never skip any chapter or paragraphs because everything is actually relevant to the plot and interesting. I hope that more people see and read this book because the author is insanely talented and I can’t wait for a book 2 🤞

I’ve never become to attached to something I absolutely love this book, and I cannot wait for the 2nd book. Emma you did such a good job on this, I’m blown away. This is by far my favorite series and will probably always will. I cannot wait to buy this, and just sit down and reread this all over again. If you want a romance, dystopian, faerie, thriller, type book this is the one. (Ps I did get this app just to write this review hahah)

I read this book a while ago on Wattpad, and I will never forget how it allowed me to escape from reality. This book is long, but there is not one boring moment. I absolutely adore Conan and Astra. The bond between these group of friends is unbreakable. Poor sweet Kane though :( love the plot of the story, and enjoyed the enemies to lovers and friendships that were built along the way.

FIRST OF ALL i want to start by how far this author has come because i remember reading this on wattpad and it being so amazing i literally left my friends at lunch to go sit in the school bathrooms and read because i was so fucking hooked. this may also make me a bit biased to the published version just because tsot have a special place in my heart and was also the first fantasy i ever read.

to begin, emma has created amazing characters, each and every single one having an amazing development that makes you feel like you know them and it makes an even greater connection to them. and she structured the book perfectly. each chapter and plot line flowing seamlessly into another it’s literally made me kick my feet.

this is the book that got me hooked on enemies to lovers because trust me when i say ENEMIES. i mean literal reason to kill, pure hatred, unwanted tension. all that! literally every other scene i just felt drawn to conan and astra, each and every single one of their lines contributing to that enemy arc. fucking loved it.

AND THEN on top of that, the plot, the power each of them held, how they balance each other, god literally made me want to be in that universe to feel the energy around them. absolute power just radiates from the pair of them.

the plot was amazing and nothing like i’ve read before, (this is me talking about it after i’ve read other fantasy books) and even though it does have those generic tropes once in a blue moon, emma has managed to make it original and put a truly beautiful twist on it.

the ending of this book has never failed to make me cry despite reading it 3 times now. every. single. time. sobbing. it broke my heart but that’s what i needed of it, and it was just done so well. i’ve also finished said rereads so quickly because i can not put it down.

i am honestly so proud of emma rae and i hope for the sequel of this to come at some point, no rush, just some point so i can fall further in love with her characters!!

Where to start? I read this book back in 2020 when it was on Wattpad and I can’t believe how much this book has grown. I was so excited to see all of my favourites back together again. I love all of the characters so much. Conan and Astra? I wish someone loved me the same way they do. Kane? My favourite golden retriever sarcastic comedic relief. I have nothing but love for this book and I can’t wait to read the rest of the story. I would definitely give it a 6 stars if I could. 🫶🫶

sobbing. i need the second book now. i am so emotionally attached to this book, conan is so omg. i love love love astra shes literally the epitome of a badass i love how she isnt like those cliche damsel in distress kinda girls and i kinda connected with the fact that she doesnt like expressing any of her feelings shes so amazing i literally love her. conan is literally the definition of my dream man he is literally so obsessed with her i love it. i absolutely love how the book was such a slow burn i loved the tension they have with one another i love love love this book id reread over and over again and id never get tired of it.

i read this on wattpad ages ago and i have literally thought about it almost every week once emma said she was gonna re-write and publish it. i have never been more excited to receive this in the mail!! excellently done and just an amazing plot. everything is so thought out and i love each characters backstory. conan & astra are my babies and i love them. kane and leia as well :)) 10/10 recommend

I first read this book when it was first released back in 2020 and absolutely fell in love with the story and all the characters. This book single handedly got me into reading and writing. All the characters are so well written and lovable, especially Kane. Not one boring moment in this book. Reading the re-write is so surreal, almost like I’m reading the book for the first time again! Amazing, 10/10 recommend to anyone who is interested in it, you won’t regret it!!

Honestly, I hate reading online but this book was an exception. I loved all the characters, the plot twists, and the romance! But my favorite part of the whole book probably has to be the povs!! Emma out did herself on EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER. They just kept getting better and better! You will not be disappointed!!

This is a great book! Told from the perspectives of 4 different characters, yet each one has their own distinct personality and tone. The story is full of action and interesting twists and turns that make this book hard to put down. I am looking forward to book 2!
