Sometimes what’s in wattpad should stay in wattpad ✋🏻
I think the author is a big bluelance fan because she tried so hard to make her main characters like bluelance but failed miserably ✋🏻
Avery literally gave me second hand embarrassment with how stupid and horny she got everytime alexander touched her.
I wanted to slap Alexander so bad all the time because of his mean and rude comments and attitude. Bro thought he ate but he sounded like 8 year old who just learned a new curse word ✋🏻
I have no idea what the plot was about because it was all over the place! Alot of questions nothing was answered. The ending left u more confused. I don’t know what the purpose of this book really 😭😭

Anyone who said this book is good, is a liar

Because I was reading reviews thinking I would actually enjoy this.

Unfortunately I did not.

My problem with this book is that I felt NO CHEMISTRY between Avery and Alexander, like no sort of connection from him to her. I felt like he didn’t love her and at the beginning it just was sexual tension with no romance.

Second problem was the writing, felt like I was reading wattpad. No hate to wattpad readers and writers but when I’m reading an acc book I want to feel like I’m reading an actual book, not wattpad, not something a bored 12 year old writes.

Everyone has diff preferences for writing but this sort of writing is not something I enjoy.

No hate to the author tho- this is just my opinion!!

omg stop bc this was so bluelance coded but make it twistier, dirtier and darker. If you love them you’ll like Alexander and Avery’s story (!!!) And that plot twist was WILD. I’m on to the second one right now.

У мене склалося неоднозначне враження про цю книгу. З одного боку, було дуже легко і цікаво читати, сюжет захоплював з кожною сторінкою, а з іншого - багато чого не сподобалося, враховуючи героїв.
Почнемо з сюжету. 20-річну Ейвері, замість в'язниці, відправляють в школу-інтернат для важких підлітків, де вона знайомиться з загадковим 27-річним професором Александром Престоном і в них зав'язується досить дивне спілкування. Для мене дивне. По перше, Ейвері його зовсім не знала, він поводився з нею як з гімном, але вона чомусь вирішила, що буде правильно поділитися з ним своїм травматичним минулим🤦
І потім, між ними все якось занадто швидко закрутилося.
Їхні стосунки, якщо це можна так назвати, абсолютно нездорові. Ейвері постійно дражнить, виводить з себе Александра і змушує ревнувати. З самого початку в неї немає ніякої поваги до нього і розуміння того, що він її викладач.
Александер - це суцільний red flag, хам, грубіян, який ненавидить свою роботу і зневажливо ставиться до студентів, а до Ейвері особливо, при тому їй це страшенно подобається. Але іноді він виявляв до неї, навіть, якісь ознаки турботи. Зазвичай я люблю владних чоловіків в книгах, але тут герой - прям ту мач альфа.
Незважаючи на це, в кінці мені було дуже шкода Александра. Стільки років кохати одну людину і постійно її втрачати, має бути дуже важко. При чому, весь вантаж цього прокляття лежить на його плечах, Ейвері ж ні про що, ні разу не здогадувалася.

Дуже сподобався оцей момент, прям до сліз:

— Я так сильно тебе кохаю, у цьому житті, у всіх минулих та всіх майбутніх. Ми знову знайдемо одне одного, я знову знайду тебе.

Загалом, мені цікаво повністю дізнатися їхню історію і причину прокляття(чи що воно таке), тому біжу читати 2 частину, сподіваюся вона мені більше сподобається.

Secrets and Seduction ist ein Buch, das mich einfach unwahrscheinlich überrascht hat. Es war ein bisschen wie ein Autounfall: ich konnte einfach nicht wegschauen.

Die Geschichte von Avery und Alexander hatte eine total starke Sogwirkung auf mich. Ich bin sehr schnell vorangekommen, da der Schreibstil unglaublich leicht und locker war. Das empfand ich als angenehm.
Das Tempo hat mir auch gut gefallen. Man stellt sich während des Leseprozesses immer wieder einige Fragen, die man beantwortet haben möchte. Dadurch fand ich es ebenfalls spannend und diese Sogwirkung kam richtig zur Geltung.
Es ist alles recht mysteriös und man merkt, dass an der Preston Academy nicht alles so ist, wie es scheint.
Das Ende war sehr gemein und ich freue mich schon auf den zweiten Teil!

So, I wanted to start of by saying I REALLY wanted to like this book. Paranormal teacher/student romance book? Sign me up! However, I think this writing style just wasn't for me. I tried to give it a shot as I read the book, but I couldn't get past that. But remember, everyone's writing tastes are different so keep that in mind.

I also feel like the plot itself wasn't executed in the best way. A 20 year old girl commits a crime and is sent to a school for teens instead of juvie (again she's 20)? I also couldn't get past that part. Also, Alexander was hot and cold with Avery and I usually EAT that UP, but the way it was written in this book made it hard to believe he really felt anything for her at all with the things he would say to her and the way he would act at times. Avery was also a heroine I sadly couldn't get behind. I really felt no chemistry between them at all.

The dialogue also didn't flow naturally and felt cheesy at times. But again, this is more personal preference.

I personally will not be reading the second book. If the plot of the book intrigues you, I would say give it a shot and see if you like it. Like I said earlier, everyone's tastes are different so just because it wasn't the book for me, doesn't mean it might not be it for you!

What I did not like it‘s how the idea is executed. I feel like the plot isn‘t thought through. There are plotholes in my opinion, too less explanations and too less descriptions of the world and I didn‘t like the protagonist and didn‘t feel with her.

сюжет ніби цікавий і затягує. читається легко. нехай тематика і не є якоюсь особливою, але все одно я це швидко проковтнула. схоже атмосферою на «Готинану» РуНікс, але на мінімалках.

Ейвері відправляють у школу-інтернат для тяжких підлітків (на хвилиночку, їй 20) і там знайомиться з професором Престоном. далі можна домалювати картинку, що станеться, правильно?

написано, що це фентезі, але від фентезі поки що тут лише віддалені здогадки. переважно все крутилося навколо Ейвері і Александра Престона. він мені не сподобався взагалі. грубий, зарозумілий, одержимий Ейвері. а вона просто дивачка, яка все-таки трохи хвора на голову, інакше не розумію її поведінки.

остання четверть книжки стала найгіршою, тому мої враження стали стрімко падати на дно. оцінка така лише тому, що до певного часу було цікаво, але далі – я хотіла закрити цю книжку і забути.

Ganz ehrlich, keine Ahnung was ich hier gelesen (oder eher inhaliert) habe, aber es hatte so eine Sogwirkung auf mich, ich konnte einfach nicht aufhören!
Eine Mischung aus Dark Akademia, Dark Romance und Romantasy…ich bin absolut fasziniert! Und dieses Ende…Gott sei Dank hab ich Band 2 schon hier liegen! Es war so spannend, so mysteriös, so spicy…Ich liebs bisher sehr und muss direkt weiterlesen!

GOD I READ IT IN ONE NIGHT STAND
I feel in love with the characters(Alexander and Avery)
and for the very first time I enjoyed the smut hihi
and the plot twist hell yes
• I would like to add that I love how this book is not just an forbidden love story professor x student smut book just that the mistery and secrets and drama did the book better
and I'm waiting for the second book Bianca yk😭

OK WAIT. This book was so good!!!!! I am so pleasantly surprised!!

It honestly kind of felt like the perfect mix of Grave Matter and Blood Orange by Karina Halle, while still feeling wholly unique.

What starts off as a dark academia meets dark romance turns into centuries old secrets and a romance that transcends lifetimes.
