Prue embarks on a long overdue fresh start at what feels like the beginning of the rest of her life. Before she can even take her first steps into this new life, reality takes a swing at her newfound peace, with the loss of someone larger than life.
As Prue struggles to find her way, now feeling far more lost than found, she seeks consolation in a support group, where she meets other hurt souls, including prickly Devon and a battered Gus. Upon this random encounter, the three suddenly learn of their newfound magical powers as the power of three.
Now that Prue, Devon, and Gus have been thrown together by circumstance, it is up to them what they choose to do next. Prue, still grappling with her heartbreak, Devon, infuriated over the injustices of those chosen to protect and serve, and Gus, ten years into running from his demons, must find a way to look beyond themselves and see the bigger picture.
Can the three of them band together to turn back time and save their loved ones? Can the three of them work together to save themselves?
Finding the Other Side is a story about loss, grief, and what happens when people who are hurting are brought together at the exact moment they need one another.
Prue is on the edge of a long-overdue fresh start when her sense of peace is shattered by the loss of someone larger than life. Suddenly feeling more lost than found, she turns to a support group in search of comfort. There, she meets Devon, prickly and angry over injustice, and Gus, who has spent ten years running from his own demons.
What begins as a shared space for grief becomes something far more unexpected. Prue, Devon, and Gus discover they possess magical powers, a power of three, and are faced with a choice about what to do next. Each of them carries their own pain: heartbreak, rage, and guilt. Together, they must decide whether they can look beyond themselves and see a bigger picture.
At its heart, this book explores grief, emotional wounds, and the desire to undo loss. It asks difficult questions: Can people truly work together when they are broken in different ways? Can they turn back time? And even more importantly, can they save themselves?
This story blends emotional struggle with supernatural elements, focusing on healing, connection, and the consequences of the choices we make when grief is still very close.
Grieving Still by Pamuela Halliwell is a well written, provocative tale of transformation that will resonate with anyone who has struggled to navigate the complexities of losing someone dear to them. But it’s less a guidebook than a fantastical adventure story peppered with what for me were novel twists on themes of sexual desire and metaphysical possibilities. The voice was authentic, in turns raw and tender, with heartfelt storytelling that kept me engaged and turning the pages from start to finish. Highly recommended.
This book really touched me. It handles grief with honesty and compassion, without rushing the healing process. Prue’s journey felt very real, and I appreciated how the story allowed space for anger, confusion, and hope to exist together. A meaningful and comforting read.
