Chrissy Fran is trying to find her true happiness. She’s focused on her family, her friends, and her classroom. In that order. Which is why she knows that she needs to steer clear of Brayson James. At all costs. He is the enemy after all.
Brayson James is a hot head who’s been told he has to straighten up his act if he wants his career in the NBA to continue. He’s done everything that’s been asked of him, which is why it’s a shock when he finds out he’s being traded to the Savannah Hawks, where everyone hates him.
Neither expected their paths to cross, but the pull between the two is undeniable. When Chrissy’s friends and family find out about their relationship, it forces Chrissy to make a tough decision. One that could ruin everything.
Can Chrissy and Brayson make the Come Back? Or will Brayson’s past continue to haunt him?
J. Akridge is contemporary romance author that has a quirky sense of humor and enjoys sweet, sexy, feel-good romance. She likes her bun messy, her sweats comfy, and her coffee strong. She resides in Missouri with her husband and their three children where she is experiencing her own happily ever after with her high school sweetheart.
What a way to end a season. ❤️ When I started this book I was not team Brayson. He was definitely not a fan favorite. However he wins me over in this book. Come back shows a whole different version of Brayson. You actually get his side of things and get to meet the real him. The struggles he’s faced. How caring he is with his sister Ace(who I loved by the way).
Now let’s not get started on his love for Chrissy. He fights to break down all her walls/insecurities. Shows her she is capable of being loved. I love how kels and Landon supported her and Braysons relationship.
I’m so sad to see this series end but I can’t wait to see what else J brings us. ❤️❤️
We need Ace’s story 🤞🏽

OMG🔥🔥 This forbidden love scored a 3-pointer!! Go, Chrissy and Braydon😍 Come back is an enemies to lover, forbidden relationship between two unlikely individuals.
Chrissy is sweet, caring, sassy, and loyal to her friends, or....... she tries to be😏. She is friends with the wives and girlfriends of the ballers on the Savannah Hawks.
Braydon, enemy number one, is hated by the ballers on the Hawks. He's angry, misunderstood, provoking, and a brute.
This story is juicy, baby!!😍
It's angsty and will have you cheering for the underdog.
As far as Chrissy is concerned Brayson is the enemy. He has hurt the people around her, friends and family, and for that he can never be forgiven. Brayson never expected to be traded and certainly not to the one place everyone hates him… Savannah. Neither expected their paths to cross but when they do, the sparks are undeniable. But when Chrissy’s friends and family find out about the relationship… can they survive the fallout?
♥️ Enemies to Lovers ♥️ Sports Romance ♥️ Forbidden
What a way to end the Hawks Serious, this was by far my favourite Hawk story. Chrissy has always been a firm favourite of mine, I had been dying for her story and that glimpse at the end of book 5 had me gagging for more. Brayson, Brayson, Brayson. What can I say about this misunderstood man? Alpha hole on the outside, soft gooey teddy bear on the inside. He has so much love to give and he just needed to find the right girl… enter Chrissy. From the moment they meet Brayson is gone for her, he fights to break down her walls and insecurities, he proves to her that he can be relied on and that’s exactly what she always needed. They are the perfect match.
Ok I seriously didn’t think Braydon could be redeemed but I was so wrong. I’ve been dying for Chrissy’s story since book one, Full Court Press, and the wait was beyond worth it!! I hate that this series has ended but I can’t wait to see what this author does next!! 🖤🔥🏀🔥🖤
Comeback was one of those stories that you had no idea you needed about a character you saw as the villain but realized he was such an outstanding person. Brayson was that typical rich guy athlete that we all hated for the chaos and mean behavior he did to our beloved Hawks and their ladies. The great twist is Chrissy (who is a major part our Hawks family) meets and starts seeing enemy #1. Talk about the stress on her and the drama caused by almost everyone. I love the fact that Brayson and Chrissy really take the time to get to know each other, showing their vulnerability and their loyalty. I absolutely LOVED this story. The fact that it’s the end of an era, one of my most beloved book series was bittersweet when I first started reading. That changed when I was 3 chapters in and couldn’t put it down. This is the perfect ending to the Hawks series. Nothing is left to wonder. We get to see all our characters grow and love. We get an EPIC epilogue!! I mean just WOW! I can’t wait to reread the Hawks Series….just waiting for the holiday break so I’m not interrupted lol! I can’t wait to see what J. Akridge does next. She is one of my all time favorite authors. There hasn’t been a story she has written that I didn’t love. So what are you waiting for? Jump on in and enjoy this amazing story and this epic series!
Method: ebook Rating:5/5 stars H rating: 4/5 - Braydon h rating:4/5 - Chrissy Drama:4/5 Thoughts:Awesome read, really enjoyed this one. I honestly just loved the true and honest love you felt through this book from him and from her. Great read.
I loved to hate Brayden in the previous books, but boy do we see a different side of him in this book. When Chrissy and Ace decide to go out for a few drinks, Brayden ends up picking them up. Whew!! What an encounter that is. But the next morning when they get introduced and she realized who he is, let the anger fly from her.
Enjoyed learning Brayden's story as him and Chrissy try to figure out what to do with this chemistry between them. I especially loved when Brayden opened up to Chrissy about his past telling her his side of everything that had happened with her friends. Great raw, open, emotional conversations had. Loved how they get to know each other without to many others being aware of their growing attraction.
Brayden's relationship with his sister Ace is awesome. Enjoy how Chrissy and Ace's friendship developed separately from her brother's relationship with Chrissy. When Chrissy and Brayden make a trip back to his childhood home to get Ace. It was tragic and heartbreaking for Chrissy to see how Brayden and Ace grew up.
When Chrissy finally decides to bring her relationship with Brayden out to her friends, cue the drama, those scenes and what follows are priceless while angsty and bringing all the feels. I Love how this series ends, what an awesome way to wrap things up with all these amazing characters, I've come to love. J. Akridge has given us another must read, page turner that once you start you won't want to put down until you finish.
I loved this book so much!! J. Akridge redeemed Brayson in such a wonderful way it gave me ALL the Feels!! Brayson was so hated by the Hawks and their loved ones. In this book however, we get a different side of why Brayson acted the way he did in the previous books. We get his side. I was so happy to finally get Brayson's book! Him and Chrissy started out with this "forbidden" relationship but it turned into so much more!!
Brayson and Chrissy first meet after she goes out for drinks with his sister, Gracelyn. He picks them up and sparks fly once him and Chrissy lock eyes. That changes the next morning after she realizes her he really is. Brayson James. Enemy #1.
Unfortunately, that doesn't keep them apart. They're attraction and feelings is too strong. I loved getting Brayson's story and learning of his past. Seeing these two open up to each other about their pasts, insecurities, and dreams was so touching and beautiful.
Then, Chrissy decides to bring their relationship out in the open and that's when her friends and family get really upset. Her friendships and family relationships get tense. Cue drama. But, the ending was perfect! I loved it all!!
I also loved seeing how Brayson treated his sister. I really hope Gracelyn (Ace) gets her own book! I loved her character so much!
Come Back is book 6 in "The Hawks Series" by J.Akridge. This is Brayson and Chrissy's story.
Brayson and Chrissy first meet after she goes out for drinks with his sister, Gracelyn. Chrissy been focusing on her family, friends and classroom but it starting to want happiness for herself. Brayson picks them up and you feel all the fireworks crackling, then the next morning you feel all the anger as Chrissy realizes the man she was all saint for is her #1 enemy.
They're attraction has a heat that won't keep them apart! I really didn't like Brayson before so this story really changed my mind on him- I'm a sucker for the back stories of characters and seeing not only Brayson but also Chrissy open up to each other about their pasts, future dreams, and insecurities really hit home for me!
It made me so sad the way Chrissy's family and friends acted about her relationship, I expected nothing less but it still makes me sad! The end was worth the pain tho!
J.Akridge did it again with this book! I got to ARC read this for her and I just want to say thank you! There are so many readers out there and I'm thankful you wanted me to read for you!
I cannot tell you how much I loved Come Back, it was 💯 pure magic, the story was even more emotional than I thought it would be, and the one thing I didn't think would happen did, I fell in love with Brayson, if you have read any other stories in the series then you will know exactly what I mean, but Chrissy was the perfect match for Brayson, as we know with J.Akridge this was never going to be an easy road to happiness and boy did it pull at my heartstrings, when I finally find out about Brayson's homelife, his devotion to his sister, well everything fell into place.
Chrissy never thought she would fall for enemy number one Brayson, after all, he didn't play for the Hawks, but when he is traded to them things get messy on and off the court, but this couple's connection just flowed from the pages, Chrissy's despair and worry at what her friends will think delivered with precession but her growing feelings for Bryson sent tingles down my spine, and when we finally get to understand who the real Brayson is you will fall in love with him.
Brayson is an NBA star with a bad reputation. His life takes a turn when he is traded to the one team he knows no one wants him to go. The bright spot is he is closer to his sister. Chrissy, a teacher, is a mentor to his sister and she is also close friends with all the players that do not like him. Even though they know it is a bad idea, they start a clandestine romance. But the more Chrissy gets to know Brayson, she sees the real person underneath the bad boy image, the past he struggles with and his fierce loyalty to his sister. Will they be brave enough to stand up to all the people who do not want them to be together?
I have read the other books in this series and liked them all. I really liked the two main characters in this book - you will love Brayson once you know him more.
Oh my heart. This one hits you right in the feels. I had a feeling Brayson was misunderstood but my heart hurt so much for him! Akridge hit it out of the park with this story. Chrissy has some baggage from past relationships and she always self sabotaged her self when it came to being with someone. But regardless of the history that had been perceived with Brayson, she felt this connection. Sometimes you have to follow your heart. She did and it was so beautiful to read. How protective Brayson is, how much Chrissy stood up for him. These two just made sense even if the others couldn’t see it at first. I do hope sometime down the road we will get a holiday story with them but overall, this series is magical and I loved every moment of it. Now is the time to binge!
In the previous book in this series we were given a peek into the romance between Brayson and Chrissy but the story behind it blew me away! Bad boy Brayson showed the true tortured man beneath the tough veneer and Chrissy falls hook, line and sinker for him! Their secret relationship causes friction but they open up to each other and share their pasts so they can see if they have a future. I really liked this look at the true Brayson. He owns his past and embraces the therapy and anger management classes and continued to use his coping mechanisms. He showed that while he may have made mistakes that a person can change. Loved this book and am so sad the series is complete!!!
Wow! J. Akridge really saved the best for last! I've been waiting for Brayson's story since forever and it was so worth the wait. His and Crissy's story is definitely my favourite of the series. I've seen him since I started reading this series and he was not my favourite character. But once we have his book and get to know him, wow. Just wow! Because he completely changed my mind and redeemed himself. As I said, that's why the author saved his story for last because it's so freaking amazing. I loved both of them and their story so much. I enjoyed it a lot.
Holy redemption!! I always knew there was more to Brayson James!! So glad he got his happily ever after!! I truly enjoyed these characters and the Hawks!! Such a great story. Brayson and Crissy are probably my favorite couple. Brayson’s heart and soul are forever going to hold a special place in my heart!! I love these characters so much. I’m so glad I found J and her books!! I can’t wait for more.
Holy moly! This went so much better than I expected. I really wondered how she was going to make this work. I had a hard time continuing to not like him. Ha!
Brayson is the guy everyone hates. He has a bad reputation and a terrible attitude to back it all up.
Chrissy has the kindest soul around and just wants to find her happy ever after. Past relationships keep her from finding just that.
When their paths cross can they both over come their pasts for their futures?
Brayson was quite the complex character but I absolutely loved that he was able to show that he could make a much needed change. Chrissy was the sweetest girl, I just wanted to wrap her up in a big hug. Brayson and Chrissy together were like the rainbow after the rain, not exactly expected but definitely beautiful. Their relationship was charming and spicy and left me with a happy heart. Everything I have come to expect and love from a J. Akridge book.
I LOVED this book. Once I started it, I couldn’t put it down! This was a TRUE enemies to lovers but this was done in a way that didn’t effect the main characters but also their families. I was ready to see a slower burn but it was a little quicker than I would have done but overall, this was really good to see Brayson and who he really is! Highly recommend this whole series! Loved seeing where the other characters developed in their lives too. 5⭐️ 2🌶️.
The bad boy Brayson with an attitude is given an ultimatum so he gets his crap together until something unexpected happens. Chrissy is the good girl and when Brayson finds his way into her life, she faces some challenges. I do love Ace, his sister and that ring tone song he had for her was a crack up. Brayson and Chrissy were great together despite the opposition from others. I really love this sports romance series by J. Akridge they are filled with so much to offer.
This is the sixth and final book in this amazing series, and this is Chrissy and Brayson’s journey. This is a wonderful conclusion, and is well written, with family, friendships, emotions, intrigue, romance, challenges, redemption, revelations, and love, which leads to a steamy and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
What an amazing ending to the Hawk series. I went from hating Brayson to loving this character. I am so glad I got to read his story and Chrissy’s. If you haven’t read any of this series I suggest you start it today.
Wow, this ended up being my favorite of the series! Brayson has a past filled with mistakes (or perceived ones) that he has to endure long-standing punishment for. I won't spoil this book for anyone, but the path to redemption was worth it! Loved this book, highly recommend!
