The scorching hot stripper is my new co-worker? Yes, I drooled over Finn Hayes last weekend as he gyrated in a sparkly fuchsia thong. So what?
But Lacy Callahan, the unflappable career woman, does not let her hair down, does not blab her secrets, and certainly does not try to kiss a stripper!
Except last weekend. I flapped.
And now, I have to make senior editor at Sutton & Sutton Publishing by getting my author's children's Christmas novel on bookshelves everywhere. It's also how I plan to rekindle the spark between me and my ex, Joshua, who just got promoted at Sutton.
My roadblock? Finn—the new interim assistant editor who came up with the concept for a competing children's Christmas novel. The one Joshua's fighting to get selected over mine.
Instead of working late nights with Joshua like the old days, it's Finn. Which isn’t so bad. He’s witty, quirky, and honestly, hilarious. Plus, he brings me chip-infused sandwiches. Surprisingly divine.
But there's something Finn's hiding, and it's not his ridiculous body. Why is he editing by day and stripping by night?
*Storybook Christmas is a witty, heartfelt romcom novella with swoony chemistry that will have you rooting for a happily-ever-after while keeping the romance closed-door.
Award-winning author of romantic comedies, Terra Weiss brings heart, humor, and happy endings to each of her books. She grew up in a small town in Idaho, but now lives in Atlanta with her mad scientist husband, wacky and wonderful mother, spunky daughter, and the feral ten-pound dogs who run her house. She enjoys jogging at a snail's pace, reading, and piling bright orange mountains of squeezy cheese on her crackers.
This started with a bang, or maybe I should say a shake. Really enjoyed how the story and characters grew from funny to sweet, getting through their challenges. A great holiday story to get you in the spirit.
I was hooked and flew through the book. I was cheering for Lacy to get her children's Christmas story selected and find her way with healing from her ex.
This was such a cute and cozy read that’s perfect for the holiday season! It’s a short novella, but it still packed in all the festive charm, small-town magic, and sweet romance I was hoping for. 🎄✨
I live a sweet, romantic novella that I can read in one sitting! Without even having to take a bathroom break! Lol. Finn and Lacy's story is a wonderful Christmas romance to help put me in the Christmas spirit!
Reading this book reminded me of watching s art movies. You just know when the girl goes into the woods or haunted house that she will be hurt. This heroine falls for each of her exes moves to discredit her at work. Still there is a happy ending.
After Lacy’s boyfriend/college sweetheart/coworker gets promoted and dumps her, she’s convinced that when she gets promoted too, they’ll get back together. So Lacy and I were already not seeing eye to eye from the beginning. She’s already stuck working with her ex, but now the stripper another coworker hired to help lift Lacy’s spirits works with her ex too. With her parent’s Christmas party coming up, Lacy and Finn plan to go together, as a fake couple. Both to make her ex jealous and to prevent her mom from playing matchmaker. I despised her family. Everything they said, did. Their terrible opinions. I was so bummed when their late nights working together were completely skipped over! I loved Lacy and Finn working together! As they become closer, she very quickly decides that her ex isn’t worth it. But then, she has issues separating Finn from his stripper persona…and here I thought she was supportive of his choice. So Lacy and I were back to not seeing eye to eye again by the end. But aside from that (well…Lacy) it was cute.
My Favorite Quotes: • “No, I was paid to take off my clothes. I said that because I mean it.” • “Why not me?” • “I’m falling for you, too.”
A lovely Novella, just right for the Christmas period, but not a typical Christmas story.
Lacy Callahan works at a Book Publishers, but is dumped by her long term boyfriend Joshua, who also works there, when he is promoted, and uses that as an excuse to take a break.
Lacy is understandably hurt, and her friend Bertha steps in to organise a stripper to cheer her up, which drives Lacy to drink too much.
Finn, a stripper by night, turns out to be a new work colleague of Lacy’s, and she helps him settle into his new role. They get along really well, despite his role as an associate of Joshua’s.
Finn and Lacy become good friends, and Finn helps her to deal with her feelings in a positive way after further shocks and disappointments are put in her way.
What I really loved about this short Novella, was the way the story unfolded around the characters without being sickly sweet, and how, with the help of Bertha and Finn, she was able to move on and leave all her darker days behind her, and look forward to a sparkling future.
This had a lot of themes, characters and backstory going on. Honestly, probably too much for a novella. As a result, there wasn't enough time for Finn and Lacy's relationship to develop to the point where I could really feel their connection. Also, Lacy was a little too naive and Finn a little too perfect (and the ending a little too nicely tied up). That said, it was cute and light and since I was in the mood for that, I enjoyed it.
I’m traveling overseas for the holidays and wanted a fun read for my trip. I really enjoyed the author’s WINGMOM and her Blue Vine stories because her characters are so real and with tons of heart. Her ROM-COMS aren’t just comical, but are relatable, which is why I keep going back and buying her next book!
I just purchased the STORYBOOK CHRISTMAS novella by Ms.Weiss and couldn’t put it down. I had a full inflight series of new movie releases I could watch for free, but instead, I had to find out what happened between savvy book editor Lacy, her ex-boyfriend and nemesis Joshua, and the hell’s-hot Finn, who’s alter ego was The Hurricane, a stripper trying to pay the bills while he busted his butt trying to break into the publishing world. I was laughing so hard in my airplane seat that the guy next to me had to check out why!
I just loved this story and how Lacy overcomes all odds to succeed in a world that has historically had a glass ceiling for women. And I am totally jealous of Lacy’s relationship with Bertha, the big bosses’ gatekeepers, and her own personal life coach who teaches her to step outside the lines and take a chance on the unknown. Ms. Weiss writes about strong matriarchal influences, but with heart and humor, and I’m so drawn to her writing as a result.
So, I was so sad to see this book end! If you enjoy savvy women, sexy guys, and mentors who know how to play all the cards, then this book is for you. I highly recommend this holiday story and wish that the author would consider a follow up story because I was sad to see it end and just really enjoyed it that much!
We Stan a man who cares about gender equality. Bertha is that spunky girlfriend who helps you stand up for yourself and is beyond loyal, really someone who everyone needs in life. Lacy is the hardworking, talented woman who gets constantly overlooked because she doesn’t have a hanging appendage between her legs. Sutton and Sutton is a vile company to work for and it felt so good to live vicariously through Lacy, Finn, and Bertha giving them the finger. The only thing worse than Sutton and Sutton is Joshua, and of course his name is like a common fboy name. It fits him perfectly with his douche canoe of a personality, go on ahead riding the nepotism train with the bosses daughter to make up for your incompetence. Finn, ugh just everything that you could want in a human. His grandmothers caretaker, doing anything possible to be able to pay for her care, such compassion in his kindhearted soul, and willing to leave a disgusting company over its favoritism toward men and discrimination of women. Just chefs kiss.

Storybook Christmas: children’s book editor Lacy loves her job. Really. Just not her workplace, especially her jerky ex and her misogynist bosses. Luckily she has Bertha, her bawdy coworker/life coach. Who happened to hire a stripper for Lacy. A stripper who then just HAPPENS to start working at the same publishing firm. A hot, sweet, caring stripper who Lacy tried to kiss. Shouldn’t be awkward at all!
No surprise, I loved Storybook Christmas. Terra Weiss has quickly become a must-read ASAP author for me. Every book is so funny and I always cry. She gets me. Her books also make me want very extravagant coffee drinks, so heads up on that.
Lacy is such a sweetheart. I really love how supportive she is of everyone. She’s just a genuinely nice person. I was thrilled to see her get what she deserved. And Finn! What a dreamboat. So caring! Gives good massages! Very hot! He is also very open with his feeling for Lacy and isn’t afraid to be vulnerable. He’s so honest. And funny!
Shoutout to Bertha, who is hilarious. She reminded me a little of Skye from Wingmom, who I also love.
This was such a cute fun rom-com read! I loved it! Less than 100 pages but was so entertaining beginning to end. Lacy is trying to get over a breakup, so her outspoken best friend & life coach hires a stripper "The Hurricane" to try an loosen Lacy up to have fun . . . Only thing is after a drunken night of fun Lacy walks into her office to see "The Hurricane" hired at the same place she works! 😂💜👍
i think sometimes that authors really do a better job on novellas?? not sure why? but that has been my impression for years now??! just saying. i enjoy the book cover. fun times!! November 16, 2022 was released. holiday fiction (kindle store & books). two-hour romance short reads. i enjoyed it. i gotta see if i have read anything from Ruth before? will read more. what a sweet fun read. i love a good Christmas read. anytime. throughout the season, or year. so awesome!
Lacy is devoted to her job as an editor. After a breakup her best friend and coworker hires a stripper to make her have some fun. Imagine her shock when she goes to work on Monday and finds out he is her newest coworker. This is a cute holiday novella with great character development. It is a quick read, enjoy!
This is such a sweet romcom novella. I ate it up! Finn was such a sweet man and I loved Lacy’s interaction with him. I loved how Finn took care of his grandma and did whatever it took to make sure she had the medical care she needed 🥹 if you want a super sweet novella read this one!
STORYBOOK CHRISTMAS is a unique Christmas novella set in the book publishing world. Lacy and Finn first meet under unusual circumstances which turn awkward when Lacy finds Finn has been hired to be her co-worker.
We have jilted lover, workplace romance and family issues for both Finn and Lacy. It comes down to them recognizing what they value and trust about one another. Well written.
Kudos to Terra for a strong story and great characters. Finn is not only hot as a stripper, but caring and supportive. The perfect combination. Berths was a strong woman and a marvelous friend who helped Lacy grow to be strong, too. Terra did all this without explicit sex or foul language. Thank you very much! We can't recommend this highly enough.
Ok, this may have been a short story, but it was so cute, and witty, and had me cracking up. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Lacy and Finn, and don't let the description fool you. There might be stripping in this Novella, but the book is clean, which I enjoyed. There are moments that can be considered steamy, but if you don't want a story with the characters immediately jumping into bed together after they spend less than a day with each other, then this is for you. I really enjoyed that aspect. As it felt like the characters got to know each other and weren't just running on hormones.
As a fan of this author, I knew I needed to read this one, and it didn't disappoint. Although I didn't find it that funny, or over the top Christmas-y either. Just saying...
Lacy and Finn are cute together, but I wasn't a fan of every character...I'm talking about you, Bertha. IYKYK.
