Entice #2

Rush of Jealousy

Rate this book
Every person I’ve ever loved has left me.

Thinking Graham Hoffman would be different was my greatest mistake. So this time, I do the leaving.

Good riddance to the beautiful liar who weaseled his way into my heart. If Graham taught me anything, it is to never judge a man by his smoking-hot exterior. He teased me with a taste of what life could be like with him...

Then he broke us.

The only way out of this mess is to put blinders on and focus my attention on my career goals.

The problem is the thought of anyone else touching him causes a rush of jealousy within me. Besides, the man is relentless in his pursuit to win me back, and I’m not sure I have the willpower to resist his advances.

My traitorous heart knows what it wants. And unfortunately, it wants Graham freaking Hoffman.

Can two people obsessed with our own pasts set aside our differences to fight for the same future? Or will our individual need for control keep us apart forever?

Follow along in the three-part Entice Series, as Angie and Graham navigate their way through a relationship built on secrets.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

Hotter, darker, and even more awesome!! Ms. Dawson seriously brought the heat, the pain, the revelations, and the love.

What I love so much about these books is that the relationship between the main characters is very believable. We aren’t thrown in and all the sudden they are truly in love. We get time to see how these 2 fit……and also how they don’t.

Nothing is ever perfect. And our main characters are no exception to that. They are incredibly flawed, they make really bad decisions (sometimes down right stupid), but they are so human that you still want to root for them.

As always, my reviews never give away much of the plot, and with this series there is no shortage. But I will say, there are really profound moments. The author really did have something to say, and I feel like I got it. Sometimes it was hard, sometimes it was frustrating, but I was there for it the whole time and can’t wait to see how it ends for Graham and Angie. We get some more insight and reveals in this and I was super surprised by some things and that NEVER happens to me. I’m usually good at figuring it out. I’m all in on these 2 and I think I found a new favorite author.

I gave this one a dark romance rating so keep in mind and see the kinks and triggers listed below. This series is such a good read. My heart is in this for sure.

Kinks and Triggers: Spanking👋🏻, controlling hero💪🏻, OW/OM Drama💔, Praise🗣, Dirty Talk🎙, Self harm, Sexual assault, Drugging💊, Toy use🍆, Overprotective hero😷, Groveling hero🙏, Mental health issues

I sorry, I thought that this would be better than the first book, but I was clearly wrong.

So first Angela wants her independence bla bla bla and therefore wishes to not be contacted by Graham. But he is so obsessed with her, that he has bodyguards and drivers everywhere to stalk and „protect“ her. Giving him information about her.

Then she goes undercover and wants to find out, who drugged the other girl, I’m sorry but you have no means to be a detective, where did she get the equipment??

Then her only excuse to meeting Mark is, that he will organize her an internship. But girl, what’s the difference between asking your billionaire/stalker/boyfriend for an internship instead of asking some other dude and has money, who is a bit scary to you???

I really do not understand this. And furthermore trying to take the job at the smoothie cafe. What is this???
Angie wants to be an strong and independent woman, but is portrayed as a innocent sheep who runs into every bad wolf.

After the whole mark Fiasko Graham takes her to his lake house and she instantly declares here love for him??? First this was really fast and second: I thought she hated him.

This are some plot details that do not make any sense to my. I’m surprised that this book has so many good review because for me the plot is just 🚩🚩

I found this book a little repetitive. First book I was more into. This one is the same old, they don't communicate, keeping secrets, she wants her independence, he doesn't want to give it to her, etc. Will read the 3rd book just to see how it all ends, but Ifeel like this story is being drug out too long

After THAT ending on Book 1 (Spark of Obsession) we finally have more clarity of a bit of Graham's secrets (our MMC).

Rush of Jealousy by Author Victoria Dawson is book 2 of the Entice Series and I can say it was a WILD, HIGHLY ENTERTAINING and KEEP ME TO THE EDGE drive. I won't lie here, the start of this book is angsty, our Angie (FMC) is hurt, and she won't lay it easy for Graham. I loved Graham having all the feels for Angie, but he's a bit stubborn too! I mean, you do understand Graham's reasons to hold his secrets and his darkness from Angie, but I wanted to yell a bit at him. Rush of Jealousy maintains the suspenseful atmosphere of book 1. Also, it gives us a better insight of Graham and Angie's relationship. Graham is a next level Alpha so if you love dark, protective and OTT heroes you'll love Graham as much as I do.

Beware, the ending of this book will leave you hooked but it is definitely worth it. As in book 1 it was an amazing experience to read this story that I still can't believe is Victoria Dawson's debut novel!

Happy Release Day and I can't wait for this series' Epic Finale!

Cliffhanger

This picked up and took off right from where the first book left off with the perfect balance of suspense, spice 🌶, and diving deeper into why Graham is so controlling and learning more about this past. I need to see how this series ends in the next book, but I'm seriously so impressed that this is Victoria Dawson's first series!

ARC review: I love the story line, the intrigue keeps you up late reading into the night, you won't want to put the book down until you find out what the heck is going on. Graham the ultimate alphahole, Angie so stubborn I wanted to strangle her most of the book. The spicy definitely picked up in this book. Some questions were answered but so many more were left unanswered, and wanting for more. Book 2 hasn't even been officially released yet and I can't wait for book 3. I just about died laughing at the fine china scene, if you know you know.

Ugh the FMC is pissing me off. I’m all for independence and striving for your goals, but when someone tells you that this specific Avenue you’re pursuing will cause harm to those around you and you still pursue it. No girl, just no.

I gave this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because I just have a hard time with the FMC. 🌶️🌶️🌶️ for spice. I wish there were more details involved in some of these spicy scenes. Nothing is more frustrating than details leading up to the moment only for the actual act to be an after thought.

Phew! The wild ride continued in this second installment of the Entice series. I find myself struggling to write this review only because I don’t want to spoil any of the story. It’s too good to ruin it for others.

Victoria Dawson brings the heat, the suspense, and the mystery. Graham and Angie continue to push each other away only to find themselves pulled closer together. Their individual stubbornness and drive rivals one another. Their chemistry and passion continues to burn through the pages. That monopoly scene? One of my favorites! I found myself falling even more in love with Graham and Angie!

The intensity definitely increased in this book. And not just between Graham and Angie. But also surrounding Angie’s quest for answers. She won’t let anything or anyone, including Graham, get in her way. The deeper she goes and the more she uncovers, the more danger she finds herself in and the more desperate Graham is to protect her. As a reader, you can see the danger lurking around the corner and find yourself screaming at Angie to stop. I found myself holding my breath at times as I was reading. Dawson definitely keeps us guessing.

And don’t forget the humor. You can always rely on Dawson for her humor. You’ll be on the edge of your seat one chapter and laughing the next. Hoffman family Thanksgiving has got to be one of my favorite chapters. I want to attend their family gatherings! Maybe I’ll borrow their fun and games at the very least.

I hope you continue to enjoy Graham and Angie’s journey as you laugh, love, and find yourself frustrated right alongside them, as much as I did. I cannot wait until the final installment! (Like seriously I need to know what happens now!) What kind of trouble will Angie find herself in next? How much is she and Graham willing to risk? Can their love really conquer all?

This book was a ride, and the ride still isn't over since we have a book 3 coming soon. We got to follow Angie and Graham once again. The last book ended with Angie finding out secrets about Graham. This book started with Angie confronting him. In book one, Graham held all his cards to his chest, even the love of his life was kept in the dark. Thankfully, in this book we got to discover the truth so we could get a better understanding of why everything was happening. The plot of this book definitely has me interested. The smut is also good ifywim. I can't wait to see what book three has for us. I will admit though, these characters pissed me off like no other. Graham especially. Angie pissed me off too but Graham just ugh! I wanted to throw a shoe at his head. He never listened! He was like a big man child. Thankfully, as the book went on, I saw some change for the better. His double standards really pissed me off though. Like dude, let a girl live! Other than that, the smut and plot went hand in hand. Also I want justice for Zander. Someone give Zander a hug and tell him they love him please. My boy needs it.

Rush of Jealousy by Victoria Dawson

Ratings:
⭐️: 4.25/5
🌶: 4/5

Quote: “He is everything I want and don’t want wrapped up into a package of a man.”

Tropes: billionaire, second chance, revenge plots, secrets, stubborn MCs

Wow, what a second book! Angie and Graham are just as stubborn in this book as they were in the first one. If not more so. I swear they took turns annoying me with how stubborn they were being. Graham just wanted to protect Angie. Granted he definitely went about it in all the wrong ways. Angie just wanted her independence and to do her own thing. That being said, the girl never really thought about what might happen to herself so I see why Graham was focused on her safety. More secrets revealed themselves in this book, and I can’t wait for all to be revealed in book 3. So many mysteries to be solved!! This series definitely has piqued my interest.

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶.5

In book 2 Angela lets down her wall and all of her secrets and fears are revealed. She finally admits she truly does belong to Graham physically and emotionally, all while trying to maintain her independence.

By the end it all seems to blow up and her freedom it a risk. Graham will do whatever it takes to keep Angie safe even if she will hate him in the end.

This book is darker than the first and I loved it.

This book has the perfect amount of suspense and spice. These 2 characters just can’t get enough of each other.

As the story unfolds you will definitely have WTH moments, so enjoy the ride.

Oh yeah, get ready for a Cliffhanger

DNF @ 57%

I don’t usually rate a DNF, but this one deserves all the lack of stars. I couldn’t even finish chapter 20 because it was such bullshit.

Angie and Graham’s relationship was toxic and crazy in book one, but I don’t know what the hell happened in this book. Not only are they extremely toxic still, but the childish behavior is NONSTOP.

My tipping point was Angie being upset over an ex fling making snarky remarks directly at her in front of Graham but he blatantly dismissed her. “But you are a girl, and things are different for girls. Your gender needs protection from my asshole gender.” …what the fuck is that? And then she starts to feel GUILTY. And then she fucking apologizes to HIM!

Also, there’s no reason for this book to be 600 pages. Especially when it’s filled with bullshit.

This being the second book in the series, I was very happy with the storyline and seeing how their relationship progressed. This was another twisted and dark romance book with an overprotective man. I am glad we get to delve deeper into how exactly he is involved with the company, the drug ring, everything. I did feel that the female MC was a little too stubborn in parts, however that is a personal preference and just part of who the character is. Also, if I was her friend, I would have smacked her for being so dumb in certain instances during the story. Not that her friend was much better at life choices, especially with her own boyfriend.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from Victoria!

Boy, oh boy does Victoria Dawson take us on a wild ride!
Book 2 in Graham and Angie's story picks right up where we left off in book 1 and I could not have been more happier than I was when I realized I had waited *just* long enough to NOT have to wait for the next book in the series.
Graham - all things powerful, dark, dangerous, possessive and obsessed. The best qualities in my favorite book boyfriends. He's everything Angie didn't know she wanted or needed. As a simple, carefree girl-next-door type, he comes off as a bit too much at times; but you can absolutely understand why each character does what they do. You know they're motivation.
I'm absolutely obsessed with this series, and I cannot WAIT for book 3's release. The. Wait. Is. Killing. ME!

Rush of Jealousy
(Entice Series Book 2)
by Victoria Dawson

5⭐️
4/5🌶

This series is making me abandon almost all of my adult responsibilities. Well, I always neglect Mt. Laundry but 🤷‍♀️

If you have a thing for overly protective, smoldering billionaires with serious boundary issues, then look no further!
Graham Hoffman is your man, and he delivers in all the ways that matter.

This second book in the Entice series follows the push and pull of Angie and Graham and their second chance to make their undeniable connection work.

He is bossy, domineering, and will unalive anyone who stands in his way.

She is a sassy, strong force to be reckoned with.

Have just finished this….I’ve been savouring it, as I didn’t want it to end. Graham and Angie’s relationship takes a different turn in this book, but it is no less enticing!

The characters develop and their relationship grows and there are lots of sexy times! There are SO many twists and turns in this story, you won’t be bored. Instead you’ll find yourself caught up in the twisted world Angie has found herself thrown into, like I did. Don’t fear - Graham’s secrets are uncovered and we learn more about Angies past. The cliff hanger at the end however has me counting down the days until Book 3 is released.

I loved book one and I didn’t think it could get any better, but I was wrong! I am the kind of romance reader that needs equal parts romance/steam as I do suspense and adventure. This story is so good that I actually didn’t put it down. I took this book on vacation with me thinking I’d read it over a week. Nope, I read the whole thing before the plane touched down at my destination, and now I’m having withdrawals. I’m going to lose it waiting two months for the next installment.
Graham is even more cunning and possessive and Angie is struggling to trust him, but is continuously placing herself in danger. I love the dynamic between these two and am dying to see what is coming next.

This second book in the series was just as good as the first.

Graham is dark, overprotective, jealous, and powerful. He is doing everything he can to protect Angie who is stubborn, sassy, fiery, and the girl next door. Angie doesn't want to be protected but i think on the inside she really likes is overprotectivness. Graham comes to her to rescue multiple times, it seems danger is drawn to her. I laughed so many times throughout the book due to Angie's banter with Graham and her best friend Claire.
The cliffhanger at the end had me screaming that I need more. I am so looking forward to reading book 3 and seeing how it ends.

A Real Rush

At the start of this story, Angie challenges Graham about the information she discovered at the end of book one. She has learned a lot more by the end of this one.
The interesting thing about this series is the nature of Angie and Graham's relationship. For him, being in love is new, but all-consuming, for her, it is something she resists, since she loses those she loves. It's this fear that keeps her determined to do what she wants, which puts her in terrible danger.
I am on tenterhooks worrying about the way that this will play out, hoping both achieve their heart's desire.

Have you ever deliberately slowed down your reading so a book doesn’t end? Just me? Angie and Graham have me so wrapped up in their story, I don’t want the books to end. Rush of Jealousy is my favorite of the two books so far. It hasn’t even come out yet (official release in December 1!) and I can’t wait for the third book which is out in February 2023! I was laughing, loving, and feeling everything between Angie and Graham this book! This book answers some questions from Spark of Obsession but leaves even more to be answered in Taste of Addiction! I can’t wait!

This book had all the things I love, an overprotective and obsessed hero and lots of twists and turns. It picks up right where book one left off and continues to be faced paced. Rush of Jealousy was action packed with the perfect amount of spice. I couldn’t get enough of Angie and Graham. They got to know and understand each other even better which strengthened their relationship. I loved every moment they had together even when they were just eating breakfast. I definitely was not expecting the ending and I’m excited to see how the next book picks up after that cliffhanger.

In "Rush of Jealousy", book two in the Entice series by Victoria Dawson, our man Graham takes overprotective to a borderline stalkerish level. He feels justified in his reasoning as Angie just will not stay out of trouble. We get more insight into Graham's backstory and a surprising peek into his family dynamics. Something tells me our Angie will have no choice but to face her personal demons in the next installment. Cannot wait to see where this story goes. Bring on book three!

I received an ARC copy from the author, and this is my honest review.

The second book of this series was 🙌🏻.
I love how this book picked right up where the first one left off.
Angie is just as stubborn as she was in the first one and seems to have a way of finding herself in trouble, while Graham is just intense , bossy and will do anything and everything to protect Angie.
I seriously cannot wait for the third book to come out in a few weeks !

If anyone is looking for a new author to get hooked on … look no further than Victoria Dawson!

P.S … I could totally see these books being made into movies!!!!

Book 2 following the Spark of Obsession which ended on a major cliffhanger. I immediately found this book online and downloaded it. Admittedly, I initially thought I would not like these books as I just can't relate to the glamourous lives of the rich and socially elite, but this series kept me hooked.

"As expected, Graham’s jewelry line consists of the best precious metals— mainly platinum and gold— that he imports primarily from Canada and South Africa where they are mined." As a South African, I truly appreciated this reference.
