Claiming Her Forever
Re: Rocky Mountain High
A definitely must-read novel. "Claiming Her Forever" has the charm of a small town atmosphere, with friends who are like family at the first meeting of Quinn. After Quinn's mom died, she leaves Idaho & heads to a cabin in Colorado for 3 months. Her enthusiasm being there isn't what Sawyer wants. He doesn't want any connection with her but she keeps finding ways to try to get to know him. He resists at first but her innocence about mountain life is as refreshing as the mountain air. When the end of her time is approaching, Quinn & Sawyer are closer in having a HEA until Quinn sees Sawyer with his ex-wife, crushing her dream. She returns to Idaho & is miserable with a broken heart. Sawyer makes a wrong into a right with the ex-wife before travelling to Quinn & straightening out the misunderstanding.
I always have enjoyed reading Alexis Winter's novels. This novel is worth reading as this is the first book of Men of Rocky Mountain. Quinn's so naive about the country life whereas Sawyer grew up learning how to survive in the wilderness. I like the intense attraction they have towards each other, the push away is as strong as the pull towards each other. Their attraction is not only physical but it's emotional too. This novel is a page-turner. I felt like the friend who's cheering them on & wishing they become a couple as they deserve to be happy together. True love is within reach, even with people/characters who are broken inside. Read about Quinn & how she wins Sawyer over in opening up. Well-worth reading this one!
A Second Chance at Forever
Re: Is There a 3rd Chance at Love?
Landon & Willow are the love-at-first-sight couple until he abruptly left town. Fifteen years later, he's returned to town to bury his dad, sell dad's house & to make peace with everyone he's hurt by his father's illegal activities years ago & by his manipulative actions his dad ordered him to do.
A strong romantic bond between Landon & Willow can't be broken until yet another untold lie surfaces. Will Landon get a 3rd chance in forgiveness from Willow? Will the town families be able to give him a chance to step into their small town again?
Landon's family history unfolds in this novel as well. I found it interesting & it had kept me wanting to find out what would happen with Landon once his secrets were unraveled.
Always Be My Forever
Re: Friends to Lovers
August & Remi were the best of friends in their teens & into their 30's. They didn't see the obvious signs of having deeper feelings for each other & did not communicate it until it looks like it's too late. They are nudged into stepping forward to voice their true feelings for each other so they finally can have their HEA. Very frustrating to watch these two mature adults who are supposed to be long-time best friends to not be able to confide to the other of their love. A strong friendship bond between August & Remi deserves to take that big giant step forward to become a full-time couple & not just a 'friends with benefits' couple. A good book to read as a stand-alone but if you read the first 2 books, there are characters who will link into this story as well.
Only For Forever
Re: Deserving a Second Chance
Dr. Grant Rossi is deeply interested in Leigh who is a Pilates Instructor. He keeps pressing her for a date & when she relents, he screws up by saying hurtful words. She hates his guts & refuses to give him a second date. He tries a different angle to convince her they are a perfect match, he's a changed man & wants to have a healthy relationship with her & not a one-night stand that was his standard past pattern of dating. Does he deserve another chance when he already broke her heart? Has he changed from an arrogant S.O.B. to husband material? Worth reading to find out what a doctor & Pilates instructor have in common.
This is a really good novel to read but I did not like how he was so arrogant, very controlling & dominant - almost to the point I would consider him a bully (in my opinion).
Waiting For Forever
Re: Escape to Loving Arms
Stephanie grew up in foster homes & met an older guy who promised a better life when she turns 18 so they can get married. Turns out it was a wrong decision as Daryl was an abuser, leaving her broken, physically & mentally. Having had enough of being a punching bag & treated worse than gum on your shoe, she takes the biggest risk to dash for freedom. Not staying very long in the towns she has traveled to, she lands in Grand Lake & feels like a part of the community, enjoying her work & the people she meets. Ryder shows an interest in her but with her dark secrets, she wants to protect him from Daryl, should he find her. Keeping Ryder at arms-length doesn't work & their instant attraction overflows for each other. Steph has decided to take a stand & stay in Grand Lake, not continuing to run & hide. Daryl surprises her one night & drags her back to Wyoming to be the dutiful wife. Her choices - stay with an abusive husband or return to Ryder? You'll have to read this novel to find out what Steph's destiny will be. Definitely a must-read story as it is one that has kept me captivated right from the start!
Claiming her forever - Sawyer, badly hurt by his best friend and ex wife fights his attraction to the tenant downstairs, Quinn. She is renting his cabin to get some space from home after losing her mother. But she soon makes friends with the locals in town and also falls for Sawyer too. However, she gets fed up with him blowing hot and cold. When she overhears that Sawyer's ex wife is back in town and that she is claiming her daughter is his, Quinn decides to go back home. Sawyer eventually goes after her to try and mend their relationship. Great to reconnect with the Slade brothers in this story too. A second chance at forever - Landon broke Willow's heart by leaving Grand Lake 15 years earlier. Now in their early 30s Landon's father has died and he returns to renovate and sell his house. Willow seeks him out to get an explanation and closure but the chemistry between them is still strong and they still love each other. But can Willow forgive him and her overprotective older brothers accept their reconnection. Add to that the final piece in the Slade brothers story coming together and this makes a hot, tear jerker of a tale. Always be my forever - These two had me laughing, crying and screaming with frustration at times. August and Remi have been best friends since they were 14. August has her own real estate business and Remi has taken over his family's electrical business. They got together in the past and moved on both frightened to commit to each other and ruin their friendship. But as they keep coming back together, they both move on again with other partners. If only they both had the courage to tell each other how they really feel their journey would have been much less traumatic. Only for forever - Grant is a little relationship phobic after a previous break up. Leigh is irritated by his constant teasing. But Grant can't stay away from her and eventually persuades her to go on a date with him. As they both try and protect themselves from committing to each other other emotional consequences get in the way. A hot, steamy and passionate story see these two continually battling to try and find their happy ending. Waiting for forever - Widower Ryder is attracted to Stephanie who has a troubled past of her own, hers caused by an abusive husband. As she continues to run from her past she finds it difficult to move on. When she gets closer to Ryder she tries to find out how to get a divorce. This involves her putting herself in danger as Ryder tries to help. This is a hot, emotional rollercoaster of a story. Read an ARC for an honest review.
This series of five books is a thrill Ride of different personalities, different professions but a common thread in a small mountain town. While each book is a stand alone story, it was good to read them all together. Each book has plenty of friendships and lots of hot romances. Book five was not for a faint of heart read, however, due to the subject of abuse. But that was dealt with very well by the author. Overall the entire series is worth reading.
I do not understand who this book series has such high reviews. For real. It boggles my mind.
I have rated each of the books individually - feel free to look them all up. They're not very great reviews overall. I think the first book was a 2, the second was a 4 (rounded up), then a 3, then a 1, and the last a 4 (barely). So I'm doing an overall of 2. Because I wouldn't recommend this series. At all.
The men and women are all waaaaay too emotion and weepy and whiny for my taste. When I think of men of Rocky Mountain. I think of alpha males who are so hot, you sizzle at the thought of them. But none of these guys were like that at all. Sigh. It was super disappointing.
The authors writing style also leaves little to appreciate. I'm not sure if they're new or what but the overlap of timelines is unappealing and just super annoying at the beginning of most of the books and sometimes in the middle. Move the story along. I don't need both perspectives in present time. Ugh. The last book was the only one it kinda made sense with for the dancing scene. But even then, Ryder was an idiot in his assumptions.
So yeah, I'm not one to DNF a book so I finished the series from one Kindle Unlimited download and I'm thankful it's over. Not looking to repeat this author anytime soon. If ever. Ha.
I need to go find some books with teal alpha men and the strong independent leading women who find them and compliment them.
This was a compilation of the entire series. The books were all ok but I felt like they got progressively worse as the series went on. The last two were corny and sometimes the characters actions just did t make sense. They are a quick and easy read with good characterization but overall could have been better.
F Great read can't wait to read the rest of the series. If you enjoy bunny alpha Mountain men this is the series for you. You might just want to rent a cabin and see if you can find the peace and magic you are missing in your life you will never know if you don't take the journey
This was written like a hallmark movie - zero creativity, boring, and forgettable. I could skim rapidly and knew the entire story of events. I'm in awe over the high reviews. This was downright silly.
Ok so I admit I only read the first story in this book. It was just "okay." When the H "waved for the h to leave, bc his ex was back at his home..." uuummmm NO! I just could not get on board from then on.
This was a wonderful selector couple stories. They addressed some sensitive topics that those who have been in may struggle reading. It however is written in a positive light. I recommend this set.
I guess you could say that I had to read this series, because I know this author and I do like her story telling, but more than that I live in the Rocky Mountain region I'm glad I chose this collection! look forward to reading more from this author😍
