Grace Meyer is hitting it out of the park with this book. Catches your attention from the first page to the last. It has it all. Romance, friendship,trials, secrets. It ends on a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the next book to see where this story goes. I was given an advanced reader copy of this book and I am freely leaving a review.

No character development

This story could happen anywhere. The middle of a city, someone's neighborhood. No mention of the beauty of Nantucket or even a mention of being on an island. Character development was poor and pretty boring. I will not be buying anything else in the series.

It's Thanksgiving in Nantucket. Zoe helps her parents run a local inn. She desperately wants them to slow down and stop working so hard. She's thrilled when they give her an opportunity to handle things on her own.

Things take a strange turn for Zoe when she begins to uncover some secrets from the past. I do enjoy stories that continue to the next book. This is a novella that leaves you with a cliffhanger. I've never read this author before, but I really enjoyed her writing style. She keeps you hooked even in a short story. I'll be reading more soon.

I was disappointed in this story. It is a book that sets up a story around an Inn that has been in the family and the parents are going to step back and let their daughter, Zoe, become the Innkeeper. It ends abruptly without even any mention of Christmas. The characters seem to be friends around Zoe but never really get the whole picture. Wish I knew it was short and never finished telling the story as it left you wanting more. Have to read next in series and maybe you will get more of story:(

As is the tradition Zoe & her family always has all the guest and most of the town & past guest who want to come for Thanksgiving every year. Most everyone brings something to contribute to the meal. Zoe’s parents make the big announcement that they are stepping back & letting Zoe take over the running of the inn since she practically does anyway. They want to do some traveling. Zoe is surprised, but happy as she has been trying to get them to slow down some & not work so hard. Her grandparents have never liked her mother & has made no secret of it. They started to slip out the door to leave early and Zoe went to catch them before they left & as she reached the open door she heard them talking about a secret Zoe’s parents were keeping from her. Someone came up to talk to her & her grandparents left without getting to say goodbye. She had to go down into the basement to look for some importance papers for her mother in some boxes and she gave her strict instructions not to go into the room with no windows in it that she was always afraid to go into because there was nothing in there of interest. That just peaked her interest. What is her mother trying to hide? Is there really a big secret her mother doesn’t want her to know? Why is she going to all of this trouble to make sure she stays out of that scary room they call the “Murder Room” What is hidden in there? Will she find out something about her past? Have they been lying to her all of life??

Wow! What an interesting first book in the series. Could not put it down and found the intriguing pull to finish the story.

Like Zoe, main female character who is going to be running the inn her parents own and she's been managing up to now as her parents health gets worse with time. She is a very level headed, single 42 year old woman who is kind and hard working. Would like to see something grow between her and her long time friend Marshall. Unfortunately, he might be dating Hannah again, which leaves Zoe alone. Zoe has two other good friends, Rosa, her best gal friend and her on again an off again boyfriend, who is another long time good friend to Zoe, Mike. Mike is also the handyman at the inn.

Zoe when going to say good bye to her grandparents overheard a conversation about something her parents are with holding from her for her entire life. She is working on finding out what it is. She called and left a message with her grandma, who shows up the next day explaining what she has been missing from her life since birth from her parents.

Really enjoy this series and am leaving my honest and voluntary review.

Zoe has been trying to get her parents to slow down for awhile. She wants to change things up at the Inn. Thanksgiving she overhears her grandparents talking about her parents lying to her. Right after her parents tell her they are giving most of the responsibility of the Inn to her. But Zoe can’t let the curious conversation she overheard go. Searching for documents in the basement Zoe and her friend Marshall find a box of baby things. Great start to a new mystery series by Grace Meyers. This looks like it’s gonna be a really good one!

A fun start to a new series. Zoe and her parents own and manage the inn that has been their home forever. Zoe is ready to take over more responsibilities of running the inn as her parents are getting older. At a family celebration meal Zoe over hears her grandparents conversation and believes her parents are keeping a secret from her.

Friends Marshall, Mike and Rosa are determined to help Zoe through the hard time.

Exactly what secret are Zoe’s parents hiding? Is Marshall broken up with Hannah or not?

Grace Meyers is a new author to me but I am really enjoying he novellas. Something about a secret pulls you into this series. What could the big secret be? Zoe has uncovered a big secret worst of all it includes her. Sometimes you may wish you never snooped. Tara thought she had it made then tragedy strikes and turns her life around. I am loving this series love how Grace's thoughts are well thought out and written. A novella with a lot of punch. Looking forward to the next in this series.

I choose this rating because I think I this book deserved it. I love how the building, p!aces and people come to life with their own characters. Wow!! To the ending how quickly it ended. But I am curious as to what Zoe will find out. Into book two. Happy reading.

First, I detest books that don't end... Another book must be read then another... Mistakes that are due to only using spell check and not rereading what was written
Story is cute but not a lot of substance in the first book. I began the second book and immediately knew what was to happen. Overall, I offer a frustrated bleh.

Zero resolution to this book. I wanted a nice holiday read but didn’t get it. I don’t mind a cliff hanger but to have multiple situations going on and nothing….. Apparently I will have to read the entire series but not sure it will even be worth it.

Good so far

Quick read, and once into it, I had my suspicions as to the secret, thought they were being confirmed and then it left me hanging and wanting more. Now onto book 2 to continue the story.

This is a series of 6 books. I find series like this to read in between books. It is usually about beach communities. I call them filler books & each book is 100 or less pages. This series surprised me. It had family secrets long held over 40 years. You get caught up with Zoe & her family.
