With the wedding event of the year safely behind him, Peter is left to figure out how to navigate life without his best friend at his side. Then, a letter arrives with a special request. Peter leaps at the unique opportunity. It’s the perfect excuse to spend more time with Breck, who has been busy preparing for his own life-changing ceremony.
The pair set off on a journey meant to bring them closer together, but after a few mishaps along the way, it ends with them farther apart than either of them could’ve imagined. Peter is forced to question his future with the enchanting lad he’s fallen for. Can the two of them work through their challenges, or is this a fairy tale that was never meant to be told?
Fella Ever After is the emotional and heartwarming sequel to Fella Enchanted.

What a beautiful sequel to a wonderful first book. I've said this in my review for Fella Enchanted, but I'll say it again: the writing is so unassuming and at the same time so detailed, that you're instantly transported inside those pages. Everything is painted in such vivid colours that it's honestly breathtaking.
The second book in the series focuses on Breck's past and his fast approaching 21st birthday and what that means for both him and Peter. I loved it so much. Their relationship is so real and raw, I don't know. The affection they have for each other spills trough every word.
Once again I was delighted we didn't get any unnecessary drama or stupid conflict that kept them away from each other. There are some ups and downs, but they get over everything smoothly, because they have each other.
This is such a sweet and tender lover story. And that epilogue! Perfection.
Callahan did it again…a sweet fairytale sequel to follow Fella Enchanted. This is the type of romantasy that makes you feel good inside. Thank you so much for sharing an ARC with me
I think the character development is my favorite part about Callahan’s writing. Each character has distinct characteristics that are consistent throughout the story. They are almost all endearing. I even enjoyed the character’s reactions to their antagonists…it was comical more than anything. After that, I enjoy the imagery yielded by her words. I found it easy to picture the beautiful settings in this book.
We got a glimpse of the fairy realm in this one, but I will say, it left me wanting more…perhaps there is a third installment on the way??? I wouldn’t mind seeing Breck and Peter on some adventures together

[I received a digital arc for an honest review] Fella Ever After by S.O. Callahan brings a satisfying conclusion to Peter and Breck's story that began in Fella Enchanted. This cannot be read as a standalone, but if you enjoy queer fantasy with a sweet love story then definitely give this duology a read. Our time together had become precious and meaningful in a way I’d never experienced before. That was the fire beneath my abating thoughts of us and what the future held.
This has Peter and Breck going on a horseback road trip/ mini vacation to visit his best friend and his new wife. Breck's is preparing to take his place on the Seelie court, and Peter is looking forward to having some alone time with him. Peter is trying to figure out exactly what he sees for his future, including his work, his family and of course Breck. I wanted to live in this world of his so I could see him like this forever. I brought the hand he wasn’t holding up and brushed my thumb across his cheek. He was made of magic, and I never wanted to let him go.
This is lower steam than the first book, which had a lot more of Peter and Breck getting caught up in the thrill of their sexual attraction and feelings . This one highlighted the emotional growth to their relationship. There's a few open door intimacy scenes but there's more kissing and simple acts of intimacy / comfort that they find in one another. I do once again really wish that we got Breck's point of view, especially a certain special scene towards the end that cemented the relationship. “There is nowhere I would rather be than wherever you are,” he whispered against my mouth.
In the end, I devoured ever word of Peter and Brecks story. Fella Ever After filled with forest kisses, friendship , family , acceptance , secrets revealed, Fae traditions, blueberry scones and a satisfying happily ever after for Peter and Breck. I look forward to whatever story S.O. Callahan thinks up next.
God, how I adored this book. I did not want my time with these fellas to end. If you have doubts picking these up, throw them out the window - these books are not going to let you down.
In Fella Ever After, we follow our boys Pete and Breck as they go on a little road trip to the sea with a whole bunch of horses in tow. We explore more of the fairy realm, uncover more about Breck's magic and history, and we get so many more precious moments with these beloved characters. This book is heartfelt, it is hilarious, it is sexy. I smiled like an idiot for most of it. It's a new favorite without a doubt.
S.O. Callahan is a wonderful writer. I said it in my review for Fella Enchanted, but I'm saying it again: her biggest strength is in her characterizations. This was even more apparent in Fella Ever After. Each scene comes to life, it's the small moments and actions that make such a huge difference. Breck and Pete felt like real people to me with the way they act around each other; I got to know them deeply by the little movements they made, the quirks they have. I had to fight myself from highlighting every scene with the two of them in it (and I think I still did it anyway).
Also, I need a Finna (and not only because of her fairy lube).
When I say I loved this book, this duology as a whole, I mean it with my entire soul. S.O. Callahan crafted this story so beautifully. I fell in love with every single character in the first book, but having them again in book two, to see them learn and grow through the trials of life really made me so soft for them all. The book is very character heavy over plot, but the plot was there and it was really well done. Just like the first book, it was a slow-paced slow-burn that gives you everything exactly when you need it and not a moment too soon or too late. The immersion we got into the world of fairies was so fun and magical. I absolutely love the world Callahan has created. And, like the first book, I love Peter and Breck. Just more. I love them so damn much that my heart could burst. They will forever be with me as one of my favorite bookish couples. However, I will say, the stand out character for me in this one was Henry. He truly is the perfect straight BFF to the queers. The way he loved Peter and didn't want him to hide who he truly is, the way he stood up for Peter. I cried. It was so beautiful and touching, heart-warming.
So yeah, read this book, this duology.
I truly cannot wait to see what S.O. Callahan comes up with next.
This second book in S.O. Callahan's "Fella" series takes place shortly after the end of the previous Fella Enchanted. While Fella Enchanted focused a lot on learning more about Peter and his life Fella Ever After is very much Breck focused with his upcoming ceremony to welcome him into the Seelie court. But, before that, a road trip for our boys. Henry has sent a request from Sarah's family's costal estate requesting that Peter bring his horse team along to the estate. It is several days away and the letter encourages that Peter bring someone along with him and then stay a while after the journey...maybe a certain miller?
This book was everything you could ask for in a sequel. There is no secret that I find Peter and Breck swoony as hell and that does not let up a single bit in this book. I find the two of them effortlessly charming and Peter as a main character is a really cozy place to be narratively. Henry, Anne and Finna continue to be absolute gems whom I love and will protect with every ounce of my being.
I would 100% read like 50 more books with these characters if the author wanted to write them.
Thank you to the author for gifting me with an ARC of Fella Ever After in exchange for my honest review. Be sure to pick up a copy when it is released on 10/21/22.
To find a love like Breck and Peter. Is it only fairytale? 🧚
Fella Ever After comes after Fella Enchanted in this beautiful duology by S.O. Callahan, and when I say this one absolutely drew me in, I mean it.
While I loved the first book, this second book is just such a perfect finish to this story. The love shared by Peter and Breck so secure in its bond, and healing to both. The magic more fully realized. The idyllic scenery just stunning to read.
I picked this up while completing several other reading commitments and regretted it only for the reason that I couldn’t just sit and devour this whole story in one sitting (I wholly lack self control on a good day). But taking a little more time to enjoy it was, in the end, exactly right.
I just love this story so much. What a gorgeous and satisfying end to this fairytale that does, in fact, feel like a fairytale (and does, in fact, feature fairies). It was exactly the feel good happily ever after I craved.
Oh my, I don't even know where to start! This book is warm and comforting, almost like a hug. And not just the book; the characters. It's an absolutely wonderful follow up to Fella Enchanted It's such a sweet and honest story, and you can't help but fall in love with every person you get to know. The love is swoony, the setting is literally a fairy tale... it's even better than I imagined and would absolutely reccomend reading book one so you can dive into this one (I loved both, but FEA is definitely my favorite of the 2). I look forward to other books from S.O. Callahan!
Thank you to the author for the free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review!
Fella Ever After is the sequel to Fella Enchanted and boy, S.O. Callahan does not disappoint! Peter and Breck’s love story continues right where we left off and immediately we’re thrown into a fun journey where the pair explores and learns more about themselves and each other along the way.
Not only did we see Peter and Breck’s relationship grow together, but we see Peter open up in ways he has never done before, learn more about Breck’s mysterious past, and see the authors writing truly flourish and shine!
This was a sweet sequel to this magical story! And if you enjoyed book 1, you will definitely love this one!
This book was so deeply romantic and special and intimate. I love the intimacy of deep friendships in these books. The love of family, whether found or by blood, and how you can love people in many ways, and from any distance.
When you buy or borrow Fella Enchanted, which you should absolutely do, you might as well get Fella Ever After at the same time, because you will 100% want to pick one up right after the other, as I did!
I would read as many books in this world as you wanted to write, Shannon!
This was so sweet and warm. The perfect follow up to the start of Breck & Peter’s love story.
If you enjoyed Fella Enchanted, you will enjoy this one. It’s full of the same lush descriptive writing, beautiful relationships, and magic.
I loved the direction the story went in and the end was very satisfying and precious. These two sweet boys and all their friends are just such a comfort to read about.
Highly recommend d this series of your looking for a fairy tale like hug in book form.
Thanks to the author for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review!
I really enjoyed this followup to Fella Enchanted. The traveling, the kisses, the forest! I feel that this was a fun addition and added to the world as well as the love story between these characters.
4,5 stars. It’s a really nice story. Not a lot of angst (but there is some), not a lot of heat (but there is some). Beautifully written characters and supporting characters. Good story and character’s relationships development. Nice world building. Loved it.
Absolutely perfect - I absolutely loved seeing more of Breck and Peter’s relationship and also all the found-family dynamics that the book developed. Also finding out about Breck’s past and the Fae world was fascinating.
The ending was adorable and gave allll the warm fuzzies!
Seriously one of the cutest and sweetest books. It felt like a warm hug and I found myself smiling constantly. Peter is so lucky to have the family and friends he has. Fiery Henry and bubbly Finna are just the best. I didn't know what to expect for an ending to Peter and Breck's story but this was just right. Every little thing clicked into place just so and it made my heart happy. 💗 Book one was good but book two really brought all the lovely vibes and I know I'll be thinking about these sweethearts for a long time.
I think this series is slated for a reread soon. I quite liked this tale of fairies and humans. There is so much revealed to us in this sequel. Though it has a few angsty moments this book is still a warm and cozy read. I just love Breck and Peter and Henry and Lucy. We see a lot more of the relationship side of things for Breck and Henry and we see how Henry starts living for himself in this book. I know not all queer couple have a happy ending in this time let alone then, but I have hope that there were some and that these 2 would've been one of them.
I love fairy tales with happy endings. This one was such a sweet, cozy story full of magic, fairies, friendship, family, baked goods, and love! All the things that make me happy when reading a new book. Peter and Breck are just so cute together. And so naughty! But mostly cute.
This was such a beautiful sequel. Peter and Breck relationship is so beautiful.
I was a little surprised that there wasn’t more happening to keep them apart, since the blurb made it seem that way but nonetheless it was still beautifully written and very enjoyable.
The reveal that Fallon was one of Breck’s mums was actually very surprising to me, I didn’t see it coming which I really liked.
Overall, it was such a sweet conclusion to Peter and Breck’s story, and that ending!? Absolutely. PERFECT!!
Fave Quote "So much has changed. This time last year, we were just two lads who liked to feck about and ride horses. And now look at us." His face pinched briefly with emotion. "I thought once that I'd lost you. This feels a bit like that again. But then you have to go and tell me such a sweet story, and I see how feckin' in love you are, and... how can I be so selfish?" I love Henry!!

Fella Ever After does a great job of wrapping up the loose ends from the first book! We do get to see a little more of the fae world as well, though I admit I would've liked to see even more of the fae and get to know some of Breck's fae companions a little better. Peter and Breck are incredibly cute and I continued to adore the side characters as well! Callahan does such a great job of making the characters closest to Peter complex and three-dimensional even when they don't get a ton of page time.
It felt like this second book didn't have as strong of an overarching plot as the first book, but I didn't even care. The relationships between the characters and the journey as we get answers to the questions from the first book flowed pretty seamlessly. At times the story felt a little "slice of life," but I loved that. (Though we definitely got more resolution than most slice of life stories.)
I just wanted good things for all of Callahan's lovely characters and I'm glad they get it! I don't think with a title like Fella Ever After it's a spoiler to say this story ends with a beautiful Happily Ever After. If you love historical fantasy with LGBTQ+ rep, you should absolutely check out this duology!
The book synopsis didn't set quite the right expectations for this sequel. It was a fun follow up, though I would have loved more of the magic and discovery of the first book. If I'm being persnickety, I was also occasionally distracted by grammatical errors in the text, which contributed to my half-baked reaction.
This book was such a perfect follow-up to Fella Enchanted. As with the previous book, the world building is so well done and the characters are all so great. I loved Breck so much in the first book, and in this one, we get more of the backstory, which makes him feel more complete, but I like that he still remains a little bit mysterious. It adds to his charm, imo. Peter is still so wonderful and sweet, and Henry is the absolute best book BFF ever. I adored them all. This book builds a lot off the first one, so if you haven't read Fella Enchanted (you should) some of backstory might not make sense or feel complete. Love, love, love this book.
This was a little too long, but it ended beautifully, if not fully satisfyingly. I can't decide if that's the end of the series or not, it could go either way. I would have liked a little more information on what happened to the jerk that caused Peter's problems at the end, like maybe Peter's brother got rid of him? I didn't really understand how a relatively small community wouldn't still be hearing what Ant was saying, even with a move. But, again, the ending was just so sweet and happy that I got a little teary.
