Welcome back to Redwood University, where nothing is as it seems…and I’m stronger than anyone expects.

My nineteenth birthday awakened something within me, revealing truths I could've never imagined. My new powers do not come without risk, though, and the future of shifters everywhere rests upon my shoulders.

As my mate is preparing to challenge his father, the evil alpha proves he has a few tricks up his sleeve that could destroy the entire supernatural community.

It’s a fight for our lives, but as Alexei and I have learned, we are stronger together. If Alpha Jones wants to steal our fate, then we’ll band together and take him down.

Because no one is going to deny us our happily ever after.

Sad to not want to finish

I couldn't get through this one. I really enjoyed the series this far, but the amount of b.s filler completely killed the storyline for me. Our H in the beginning was so annoying, I swear I almost stopped reading just for that. The book reads on about nothing really and of point of views that really don't contribute at all to the story in progress. The author really dropped the ball on the last book of not introducing what our H was then. She could have been working to control her powers. Now in book 3 we finally find out and its just kinda bluh. Our H doesn't seem to be to concerned with learning about her said powers and just wants to run back to a mate who has barely started to see her as anyone. Kinda a L for our girl. I was 45% in when I just was bored and decided this book was a total loss.

An action-packed and jam packed finale! My head was spinning from all the revelations, as Poppy brings on ample fantasy with the paranormal intrigue. We all know the story is careening towards the much anticipated final battle of father vs. son, but Poppy puts many twists and much planning in place to gear up for the final stand off. At last we learn more about Nicole's true nature, Alexei FINALLY has owned his path and fights for his girl- and I am ALL for swoony Alexei- and our wild bevy of secondary characters all get in on the shenanigans. Fortunately Corbin is there to bring all of the comedic relief and adorableness. And despite pretty epic danger and a hefty amount of spice, we have some real lighthearted and fun moments to balance out our story. And all the swoons. Plus, we get a heart helping of magical politics and history along the way- expanding this world and painting a vivid and rich picture of just how all of this powerful beings co-exist. The Scooby gang has lots of plotting to do to take down the literal big bad daddy wolf, and Poppy brilliantly weaves all of the elements together to ensure we have an epic ending worth sinking our teeth into...perhaps literally. Our loves certainly get their HEA, and we have some closure, but we don't get too much post ending details, even in the epilogue, so I'm hoping for a spin-off that keeps us in this world and gives some of the answers that are still percolating! Plus, I love this world- the creative magic, the unique world building, the quirky characters, and all of the romantasy suspense Poppy conjures. I could live in these pages, laughing and swooning with these characters all day. And, a certain heart throb of a blood sucker who makes my blood pump...one more ways than one....deserves his delicious HEA- so I sure hope Poppy returns to the Redwood world for more magic shenanigans and danger.

Note: I have read and reviewed the previous two installments of this series so my review may reflect my knowledge of the previous two books. I will try to make it as spoiler-free as possible, I promise. Also, please note that you definitely should not attempt to read this book without reading the previous two books in the series or you will be very lost.

I gave both previous installments in the Redwood University series four stars, and it seems the tradition continues with the third and final book, making this series a consistent and satisfying read when taken as a whole. The individual books have their own pros and cons, but I will say I’m so happy the predictions and musings I wrote about in previous reviews seemed to have paid off in this book, the culmination of the series.

I admit fully my favorite part of this book is the characters, how they interact with one another, and the dialogue. Even though the romantic and sexual relationship between Alexei and Nicole never quite settled well for me, the friendships and found family relationships surrounding them more than made it up to me. They’re all such colorful and unique characters I can’t help but want to recruit them to be my friends. It helps to have such a disgusting antagonist, too.

After complaining about the lack of spice in the first two books, I was happy to see spice in this last book, but I did feel that after the minimal spice in the first two books and how much plot resolution there was to be done in this book that there were too many spice scenes in this book. The scenes themselves felt excessive and repetitive. I ended up skimming them, mostly.

So why four stars, you might be thinking? Because I really think that this book wraps up the trilogy in an organized, fun, action-packed, compelling, page-turning way. Poppy Ireland knows how to plot, and she did it well. This trilogy is a well-crafted story, even if the romance part of the story needs a lot of work, in my opinion. I enjoyed it and I recommend it.

I was provided a copy of this title by the author. Any thoughts, ideas, views, and opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone. Thank you.

I was impatiently waiting for To Claim a Mate by Poppy Ireland and it was definitely the fitting conclusion to this explosive trilogy. Nicole and Alexei are ready to take down the evil and it was an action packed sinful and emotional rollercoaster. It was an epic ending in every possible way.

This is the last book of the trilogy and must be read in order. Nicole has been transported to the fae world by the fae princess and researcher Cammie in middle of an ugly fight against Alpha Jones. Here she comes to know more about her newly awakened power. She has to return to her shifter mate soon as they have a severe battle in front of them. The supernatural community is depending on them to beat Alpha Jones.

What I loved most about this book was how beautifully every part of the story was set up. The imaginary world didn't feel imaginary world at all. The details were stunning. The witches. The vampires. The councils, the rules, the magic, the hierarchical structure..everything was planned and executed meticulously. All the supernaturals came together against the evil and the tension was mounting slowly till the final battle. I swear it felt like an Avengers movie finale moment. Larger than life feels existed with larger than life fantasy. Nicole was always a strong heroine and here she emerged as the strongest fighter when she found her demigoddess power. Alexei has a lot to evolve too. His father Alpha Jones has beaten down his body and his soul and he has to conquer his self doubt and fears so that he can challenge his own father. Their fated mate is stronger than ever. I am obsessed with this fated mate thing as I just love how possessive and intense and swoony and crazy sexy it is. Nicole and Alexei are soul mates and I just love how the slightest separation gives them anguish and heartbreak. And of course, the chemistry is something else. I loved the secondary characters who won't leave my heart. Alexei's best friend and beta Corbin and purple haired witch Juniper are obviously my favorite. I expect to be back to this world again. That epilogue was just everything.

I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

To claim a mate ended as perfectly as it started finishing up Alexei and Nicole's trilogy! Alexei is reeling from Nicole's disappearance while she is finding answers about her lineage. We finally learned exactly what combination of supernatural beings she is, and it was worth the wait! Now, she must use her new knowledge to harness her powers in the upcoming fight with Alpha Jones. Alpha Jones has some underhanded tricks up his sleeve to win the eventual showdown with his son for leadership of the pack.

This book answered all the questions and had some surprises still in store, so I won't go into more detail than that about the plot. I can say this book kicked the steam up several notches given it's the first time Nicole and Alexei have embraced their bond at the same time. Seeing their growth as individuals turned mates was worth the wait to get there. Nicole really grows into herself with an immeasurable strength and leadership ability, showing she will be a formidable Luna. Alexei has been training and growing stronger physically while also healing mentally from his father's abuse. Together, these two lift each other up along with the zany cast of characters in this world. They are all so quirky and easily loveable. I'm hoping we get to see more stories come from this world and even more excited to finally learn who this dynamic author team is!

Phenomenal!!!

Talk about an ending!! And it was just a quick short one that you feel could have been wrapped in book 2. There was so much here. So many elements that wrapped together that had me addicted to this story.

It is book 3 in the trilogy and it is one of those trilogies you HAVE TO READ. PNR shifter that has moved to the top of my list for all time favorite shifter books.

This book has all the 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
All the laughs (Thanks Corbin and June)
All the magic
All the twist

This book literally has everything.

This new writing duo of Poppy Ireland is something special!! Their writing is simply phenomenal. I can’t wait for more from this duo who has a way of sucking you into the story.

Hands down, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This series was not only epically amazing with 2 badass main characters but the arsenal of side characters was also top notch! Nicole and Alexei were amazing and I felt sooo much more for them in this book after having been through their roller coaster of crazy in books 1&2. This book was the best ending and I’m hoping that Christian and Charisma get a book next!

Funny, great read! Fun series!

I really enjoyed this series! I hope the writers have more fun in this world with the other characters we met! Well written stories!
The final book in this series. Great characters, lots of laughs, love, fights. I went from laughing out loud to stressed out for the characters! I'm not good at explaining without spoiling the story, but I really recommend and think you'll like these books.

I don’t know where to begin, not just because my mind is still lost inside the Redwood Academy series, but because this was without question the most mind-blowingly epic trilogy I have ever read. This duo embraced the liberties of their imagination by creating a fantasy world that’s as spellbindingly captivating as it is unique.

To Claim a Mate picks up where To Save a Mate left off, and when I say it was non-stop, I mean it was what I imagined it would be like to travel on the "Witchy Express." My head is still spinning, my heart is racing, but my soul is quite literally full from being able to escape into such a fantastically mesmerizing story.

From the very beginning, I felt the uniqueness of this world, vampires, shifters, fae—every element of this fantasy world is a huge testament to this duo’s talent. Not only did they bring this world and these characters to life, but their words are as magical as Juniper’s spells, every word more hypnotizing than the last. The banter and outrageous shenanigans that bring a smile to your face, even in the most dire of situations because this was more than a story about fated mates, although, make no mistake, there is definitely that, but there’s also the friendships that have lasted a lifetime and the people who you’ve just met but immediately make you feel as though you’ve never not known them.

Alexei and Nicole were powerhouses of strength, but when you add in this ragtag group of unconventional friends, they become an impenetrable wall of strength and determination. I adored the dynamics, and honestly, the dialogue in this trilogy is without question some of the best I’ve ever read. Why? It’s a fantasy world where werewolves, witches, fae, and vampires are the norm, but from the very first word, this world and these characters felt like home. They brought me peace when I went in feeling anything but. The clever quips, the insane antics, the unyielding support—each and every character fed a part of my soul, and as real life has been doing the opposite of that lately, it was desperately needed.

My head is still spinning from this story. The war was inevitable, and the journey to Nicole and Alexei’s happily ever after was hard fought. There were so many moving parts in this world that it was like being in a vortex. For hours on end, every thought, every emotion, every part of me was so wholly immersed inside this world that nothing outside of Redwood University existed.

To Claim a Mate is my top read of 2023, as in absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, my #1 read.

One word was all it took, I was on the "Poppy Express." A mesmerizing blend of soul-consuming chemistry, a growly AF alpha hero, a strong sassy heroine, heart pounding twists, "wtf" turns, clever banter, laugh out loud "omg Corbin" antics, and flaming hot steam. Poppy Ireland is the Queen of Fantasy Romance.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this isn’t the last we see of these characters. I know, without a doubt, this is a world I will revisit often. This duo has created something more magical than any fictional character could possess. The intricately woven plot inside a world that they created from only their imagination, the fictional characters who feel like friends the moment they appear on the page. It is the most mesmerizing escape from reality I’ve had a long time. It was a much needed reprieve, more than I could ever express.

POV:Dual                                    Fate, Family, Future
Nicole & Alexei

Taking off from To Save A Mate's cliffhanger. This is the final book in this trilogy. Must be read in order. Not a standalone.

Under attack, Juniper, Nicole and Cammie go through a portal. Alexei, Corbin, Bee and her father, the General are saved by Juniper's mother, the High Priestess. Knowing that Alpha Jones is behind the attack. Alexei has support from the Witches, Vampires, and Faes, and a makeshift pack. They know that Alpha Jones is unhinged, they're fighting for the same cause, to stop Alpha Jones and to save the supernatural community from being punished for being weak, or born without their powers.

Meanwhile, Nicole is learning about her Mother and her own heritage. Learning that she's powerful and important. Will these details put a damper on her relationship with Alexei?
Knowing that Alpha Jones is a conniving, abusive, manipulative man, our unusual pack have to be a few steps ahead of him. Will it be plain sailing to get the evidence they need to find out where he's keeping the kidnapped children and what he's planning. Has he figured out what Nicole is? Is there nothing to stop his tyrant ways?

I really enjoyed this trilogy. The dynamics of our new found pack works really well. They're family. The banter, steamy scenes, the angst, suspense. Corbin is the comic relief. Followed by no filters Juniper and Jade . His interactions with his mates father is hilarious. All these characters bring their own unique individual ways to the table.

Thrilling non-stop action, passion and laughs all rolled into the amazing conclusion of this fated mates series.

The Redwood University trilogy has been one of my favorite indulgences these past few months. I have looked forward to each book release as my twitchy one-click finger hovers over the keyboard clicking YES, while internally shouting GIMME GIMME GIMME, and outwardly remaining calm enough so my husband doesn't have me committed.  As you can tell, Poppy Ireland has been cemented within my new favorite author picks.

Jumping into the last part of this story; Nicole, Alexi, Juniper, Corbin, and the rest of the magical crew work tirelessly to bring Alpha Jones down. He's evil, plain and simple, but bringing him down won't be quite so easy. While this book is about good fighting bad, it also includes so much more. It's a story about found family, love after loss, standing up to injustice, love for your friends, love for your neighbor, and love for your mate. As much as I giggle every single time Corbin is on the page, his moment with his mate under the moon...yeah, I don't want to say too much as to give spoilers, but I was totally choked up with a lot of tears.

Honestly, I think it's what I love most about reading magical/sci-fi/fantasy/paranormal worlds is the inclusivity. No matter what world you live in, whether you are blue, purple with horns, sparkle and have wings, or have a very large appendage-yeah I'm talking about you Corbin...LOL...everyone wants to be included, respected, and loved, and at the end of the day it's a beautiful thing.

To Claim A Mate is tense a lot of the time, but there were moments of laughter too and count on Corbin or Juniper for most of the levity, but I loved it. Nicole and Alexi fight with everything they have to take down his father, but together anything is possible.

On a side note...Cristian and a certain redheaded love interest? I'm totally down for that book to happen.

Book 3 coming in clutch!!! I have read the previous books in this series so there will be information here that could spoil book 1 or 2 only read if you have read those already.

You know those series that just grab you by the horns and never let you go...this is how I felt reading from day one with the Redwood University series. Poppy you have me...please don't ever let me go.

Nicole is special, powerful, and more than she could have ever imagined. She is not the lowly human she once thought she was, but as she discovers her powers and all that she can do with them she finds her place solidifying in the fight with her mates father.

Alexei is battling his own demons as he trains for the biggest fight of his life. He has always held back, never able to stand up to his father, but now it is more than just his pride on the line. It is his future packs, it is the well being of all the supernatural factions and it is the life he hopes to have with his mate. He knows what he is fighting for, but is he strong enough to beat the one man who has only ever made him feel like a weakness.

Fated Mates
Powerful FMC
Shifter Romance
Daddy Issues MMC
Possessive/Obsessive Alpha-ahole
"Touch her and you die"
Found Family

We knew a battle was coming from the way this group rallied together and I love it. When we mix supernatural factions and see witches helping wolves and the vampires being included it makes my heart happy. Yay Nicole made it one big happy family!

Now just putting this out here I really want to see our resident vampires story. Christian deserves love too.

What an amazing conclusion to the Redwood University trilogy. To Claim a Mate picks up where To Save a Mate left off. The way these authors wrapped up this series was amazing. I’m sad to leave this world, but the epilogue gives me hope that there is an opportunity to return in the near future.

I loved seeing the crew working together to bring down Pack Daddy. The big reveal on Nicole’s powers was the perfect crescendo to that arc of the series. Alexi learning how to be the Alpha everyone always knew existed in him was amazing.

Of course, Corbin was there bringing the laughs and winning the heart of his mate and maybe her father. I just want so much more of him and his mate. Corbin and Juniper are definitely the friends you are afraid to take into public, but make you laugh even as they say the most embarrassing things.

Overall, I was thoroughly invested in this series. The authors world building and characters totally enraptured me. While I couldn’t wait to see what happened, I was very sad to not have any more books to read in the series. I will definitely read the next book/series Poppy Ireland releases. Not only was I invested in the main characters I just want to know more about all the side characters, Corbin, Juniper, Jade, Bee, The General, just all of them.

If you have not started the series, why not? It’s complete so you can read straight through the series and not be left on those cliffhangers. Books 1 &2 are out on audiobooks and 3 will release around June. Go quick and pick up book 1 in the series To Reject a Mate and come see what all the buzz is about. You will not be sorry. This whole series is a 5 Star read and my favorite series so far this year. Definitely a must read!

I love how I can like the characters and the story, but not want the MMC. Okay so I don't love Alexis and I don't hate him, he's not my type, he's too angsty. But Nicole and Alexis fit each other, and so do the other pairs.

A book about fighting to love and be yourself, no matter how the politics and world feel about them. Action, strategy, a lot of steam, and funny Cobin antics. As well as the banter and fun antics of the growing found family. The aunts, Maze, Syrius, Cobin, June...the antics the TMI the cringe nicknames.

I liked the added depth we get from the POVs of more side characters. Also, I have read many shifter books, but I felt rightly schooled on wolf shifters' politics and how difficult it can be to stay alive when your Alpha is power crazy and happy to kill with a click. It refreshed why the choices made had to be made. Although there is still no excuse for the way Alexis went about it, it's easier to understand why he's been forgiven, especially when a bond can feel so complete when nurtured. My opinion on a fictional world and its politics, it's not real! Although it would be an intriguing world to live in...I would want to be a witch and shifter, but luck out and have the best of both species...wait not real!

Yup, glad I read this series...still hoping Maze bites Alexis one day 😏🤫

The finale of the Redwood University trilogy featuring Alexei and Nicole and this series has grown in tandem with Nicole’s powers as the full extent of her strength was revealed. Something she was going to need as she and Alexei faced a fight not only for their lives but for their supernatural world as well.

With fantastic world building throughout Poppy Ireland created a paranormal world where werewolves, witches, fae and vampires roamed but for me the highlight of this series was the characters not just the hero and heroine whose relationship developed across all three books but also the wonderful cast of secondary characters all who brought something to the story. The story itself was beautifully written showing an great eye for detail so the words created a vivid picture in my mind as I read. The romance element might’ve been a bit so so but the overall story more than made up for it.

I’m left hoping this trilogy hasn’t been a one-off and we can expect more from this mysterious writing duo

How am I both happy and sad?!

There’s always that struggle at the end of a series…being torn between being happy for the characters and the closure the final book gives us, but also being sad that there won’t be more with our favorites.

To Claim a Mate ended the Redwood University series fantastically. Pack Daddy (🤮) finally got what he had coming, Nicole and Alexei get their HEA, Corbin sort of gets his father-in law to like him 😂.

I will miss all of the banter and zero filter from both Juniper and Corbin. They made me LOL multiple times throughout all of the books.

I do wish we wouldn’t have gotten a little more story after the big climax. I’d love to know if Bee and Corbin had kids, what happens with Uncle Hotpants and Jade, and who the mysteriously mentioned person is standing at the new vampire kings side.

Maybe those unanswered questions will lead to a spin off! 🤞🏻

This is the final book in this fantastic trilogy. The world building is very descriptive. I loved learning more about the magical systems and the different species in all the other realms.

Nicole is finally able to learn about her heritage and to continue to develops as a strong capable woman. I think she’s got to be one my favourite FMCs. Love her sass. Alexei’s character growth is also fantastic to behold as he is now free of his dad’s influence. Their separation is difficult for them both but when they are finally able to come together and accept their mate bond the chemistry is explosive.

I also loved the side characters! Corbin and Junipers stole my heart and gave plenty of lighthearted moments in this book.

We get lots of answers to questions I had in the previous books but had plenty of surprises to keep me thoroughly entertained. This will be a series I cherish and read over and over again.

I can’t wait to read what this duo writes next. I’m definitely a fan

Standing Ovation!! I can't even tell you the last time I was this excited for a series. I HAD to have this series. It was a satisfying end to one of my favorite PNRs. This was by far the most thrilling and edge of my seat books that I have read in awhile, Definitely this year. I can't wait for more from the dynamic duo that is Poppy Ireland.
I loved Nicole in To Claim a Mate to see her become exactly who she was meant to be. Made for such a strong character. Corbin & Bee are just epically entertaining. I could read about them all day. My very favorite though has to Cristian. I am so intrigued by his & Charisma's story. I loved the tease of them. It left me wanting more and ready to beg to get it.

CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE!!

What a conclusion. Action packed from the first page, picking up right where it left off in To Save A Mate. The action and spice were top notch. I loved seeing Nicole and Alexei really come into their own as individuals, but also as mates. I’m really happy with where all of our characters end up and how the story concludes. The only reason I gave this one a 4 and not 5 stars is because there were times where I was wanting more of the romance and there was a certain event, that I won’t spoil what it is, that I wish would have been a little more involved or just that it took longer. Other than that I thought this was an excellent conclusion to this trilogy!

I can’t believe it’s over!!! It was an insane, crazy, wild, twisted & phenomenal ending! I can’t even believe everything that happened in this book it was so action packed! Each book in this trilogy just kept getting better & better if that’s even possible. Plus Alexei & Nicole just keep burning up the pages! Alpha Jones becomes even more psychotic if that’s even possible. My love for Corbin, Bree, Jade, Hannah, Cammie, Eve, Cristian & Juniper grew & I wish we could get theirs books if only to see more of them. I loved all these characters & I’m going to miss them until the next book comes out! Hands down my favourite series of the year!

✨To claim a Mate✨

Redwood University #3

By Poppy Ireland

Rating:  ⭐️5/5

Emotions: ❤️5/5 🌶4/5

Perfect Conclusion

A very good ending for the journey of Alexei and Nicole. We dive in where the last book ended. Alexei is stunned after Nicole disappears. And Nicole is finding answers. We finally get to know the real combo of her powers. Can she learn everything she has to for the fight against Alpha Jones for the leadership of the pack with his son.

Alexei and Nicole both learn to embrace their bond and tasks. They grow into their roles as individuals as well as as mates. They supplement each other and with the support of the rest of these characters around them.

About fighting for the good, loving after loss, loving friends, family and mates. No matter where they come from.

It got a few scenes that were steamy and some that could bring you to tears.

A wonderful story in a world full of werewolves, witches, vampires and faes.

Exhilarating and heart stopping ending to a trilogy full of heart and humour!!

To Claim a Mate is the final book in a trilogy that has been an absolute pleasure to read ,Thrown straight into action where book 2 ended, you are instantly perched on the edge of your seat and completely engrossed in everything that happens, and.. so.. much... .happens!!

I laughed soooo hard ,how can I not with Corbin he's an amazing character 🤣, my heart broke and I spent most of the book eyes wide hoping everyone made it through! , it's a wild ride of humour, sadness and steam 🥵 and you really don't want to miss it!!

Perfect ending to a perfect trilogy.

now guys when can I have more Christian?? 🤣

What an amazing end to this story! From the very first book I got sucked in immediately. The characters were amazing, the story line was intriguing, and the execution was on point! Whoever these two authors are did a phenomenal job giving us a story we won’t forget! Nicole and Alexei came into themselves in this one and I really do hope this isn’t the end with this world! I feel like it’s just the beginning! Do yourself a favor, if you like aloha heroes, sassy heroines, and well written side characters, go pick these up! The trilogy is now complete and available on KU!

Bravo! What a stunning conclusion to Alexei and Nicole’s story. The world building was exceptional, and I beg our author(s) to let readers stay in this world longer. The characters have become old friends. Nicole, a seriously strong female who I LOVED and Alexei, who managed to perfectly balance between strong Alpha and supportive, loving mate are fated magic. Corbin, Bee, Juniper, Cammie, the General, Anya, Cristian and on and on and on (so many to mention!) - I want to keep knowing them and peek in on their lives. The magic lives in this series!

I’m so sad it’s over, I kept trying to turn the page for more.
Perfect ending. All my questions from book 2 were answered.
Excellent wrap up for Alexei and Nicole.
Corbin has a normal size dick now. Yay!
I will forever look at rainbows and unicorns in a whole new light now! Thanks for that! 🤣
Nicole can’t wipe out an entire city, but she is pretty bad ass.
Fingers crossed that Cristian and Charisma get their own series. I need to know more about them.
Definitely a 5⭐️ read!

Good prevails over evil

Really enjoyed this shifter series from Poppy, this final book in the trilogy gives us all the answers we’ve been desperately wanting as we discover more of Nicole’s secrets.
This book made me laugh so much, the wacky witches, especially June was such an eccentric free spirit. Corbin, Alexi’s beta was another lovable rogue whose mischief knew no bounds, the tricks Juniper played on him were hilarious. Despite all the humour, the storyline was really good. Really enjoyed this series.

What an amazing series and the ending was perfect. Alexei knows what must be done and that’s to challenge and eliminate his father, the Alpha. Everyone must ban together and take Alpha Jones down once and for all. I really enjoyed this series and characters. Alexei and Nicole finally get the HEA that they deserve. I’m hoping we get Cristian’s story.
