I liked the beginning of the book but you made her so bitter until the very end of the story. Then he was apologizing for what his mother did to her but not what she put him through. I was looking forward to reading this series but this book put me completely off. Very disappointing. Not all black women are this insecure and angry at any man that shows genuine interest in her.
3.5/5! This book was really good!! Such a good clean romance. I think a few things that kept this book from a being a solid 4 or 5 was the following: 1. THERE WAS NO EPILOGUE!! I've never wanted an epilogue so bad before, and I'm honestly crushed. 2. The ending wrapped up to quick, especially with there being a lack of epilogue. 3. Some of the dialogue and mannerisms were not authentic to the characters. For example, with Caleb being a rich guy born and raised in OKLAHOMA, it didn't make sense for him and his family members to occasionally use British vocabulary, such as referring to fries as "chips" or being as posh as he was, regardless of his wealth. It's not a big issue, but something noted 4. Inconsistent use of third-person POV: Occasionally, first person was used. As a big fan of 1st person, I approved of those times.
Overall, this was a really good story and could possibly be one that I re-read; however, the lack of a robust ending is a big downside and leaves you feeling like the story is somewhat unfinished, even though it's not.
I’m usually not a romance reader but more of a hardcore mafia and gangster fanatic. But I can say I really like this book and is contemplating reading some more. I loved your characters and the storyline was good. I like that even tho it was a romance novel, it wasn’t too mushy, you didn’t make Kim an airhead, naive, or helpless. I love that she was an independent woman but I couldn’t imagine her being fat at 6’ and wearing a size 18, that doesn’t seem fat to me. The only regrets I have with this book is that you didn’t elaborate on the ending enough. I wish you would’ve written about the wedding, did Caleb mom attend the wedding, how many kids they had. An epilogue would’ve suffice.
OH my what a delightful story! One that you can enjoy, its a likeable story that has great characters with great chemistry. The story has some sad but mostly interesting sometimes thrilling moments and of course the romance! There is a part that will bring a smile to your heart along with the usual elements, but their relationship is such a delight and a incredible to read. Even the secondary characters are great. There is one thing I wish for and that is more to the ending. But overall this is a sweet romance which l enjoyed.
Really enjoyed this story about Kimberly and Caleb Kimberly had a lot to deal with to get to her HEA with Caleb Jasmine did a good job dealing with the issues she faced as a plus sized black women, prejudice, hateful words, etc I only wish there was an epilogue, which would have made me give this 5 stars
I loved Caleb's tenacity and openness and how he wouldn't stop chasing Kimberley. The characters were lovely but could have had more depth and the story could have been more intimate. Nevertheless, the story was nice a quick and easy read, with a HEA.
I really loved the story line. I was right there emotionally with them. The writing style was a little off-putting cause there were paragraphs that should have been new chapters and sentences that should have been new paragraphs. The flow was off but still a good story but needs better editing.
I enjoyed reading Kemberly and Caleb's lovely story. Reading the emotions warring with Kemberly of Caleb's love and attraction to her, it is relatable. Sometimes we don't know who is attracted to our natural selves until we just do!
Caleb and Kimberly found out about making dreams come true despite ignorance of a racist mother and his eyes but at least they had Kimberly's mother on their side.🙋
