I’m Camille— the only pauper in Mount Evor. But that’s not why I’m on the no-fly list. Six years ago, the principality’s royal palace went up in flames. Several people died. My sister Jeannette, who worked there, disappeared. The inquiry blamed her for the arson. Since then, I’ve been an outcast—compromised and harassed—but determined to clear my sister’s name.
Four weeks before Christmas, the hunky Louis de Valois, Duke of Arrago, raps on my window. What if he has news about Jeannette’s case? I invite him in. He glances at his watch and declines my invitation. And then he asks me to marry him.

Il me reste genre 100 pages et je M'ENNUIE, c'est mal écrit, les scènes de sexe sont hyper cringe + limite au niveau du consentement. Les personnages sont pas développés, tout va super vite. Bref un petit DNF 🙄
It was awful how Camille and her sister were raised. They were so close and then her sister was killed and accused of setting a fire in the palace killing six people and maiming one of the dukes. Unfortunately people hate Camille because of her sister and she tries to hide herself. Louis’s grandfather wants to abdicate the thrown and put Louis in. His grandfather requires Louis to marry Camille for a year. I was surprised that Louis agreed. Camille felt this was a way to investigate what really happened in the fire. To say the two didn’t get along very well is an understatement. It was interesting what Camille found out, and more so how the two started getting closer. There is an awful man that has been trying to shutdown their kingdom in previous books and up to his old tricks. This is a very interesting book that I encourage you to read. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
This is probably someone's favorite book, but it didn't do it for me. I couldn't read past the wife carrying contest and the first kiss in front of the crowd. It all felt too forced and while the characters had the potential for chemistry, it didn't feel organic. They may not have gone from 1 to 100 instantly, but they did go too fast for me.
A woman despised due to her sister's involvement in the Mount Evor Palace fire making a living as a living statue, Camille Mussey. A man whose titled family is beloved due to their benevolence and traditions with their people, Louis de Valois. A sneaky blackmail scheme by Louis' grandfather requiring Louis and Camille marry and remain married for a year. Each partner in the coerced marriage has something to gain if they can make it work and everything to lose if they cannot. Camille wants vindication for her sister in whose innocence she believes absolutely. Marrying Louis will allow her access to the people most likely able to provide her with needed answers. Louis wants to keep the Duchy of Arrago and his appointment as ambassador. Marrying Camille will allow this and make him the current Duke of Arrago with all of its' perks and responsibilities. A marriage of convenience is arranged, a farce perpetuated, and two people thrown together for a year. Louis agrees to help Camille on her quest for answers in the palace fire, a dangerous and revealing endeavor. Camille learns without complaint the ways of being an emissary's wife, feeling her way in a new and scary social position. Misunderstandings, missteps, and muck ups abound but the two wounded people find themselves connecting despite it all.
While technically a Christmas book, this is more an adventure romance and scavenger hunt for clues to the palace fire than anything else. The story will pull you in and not let you go until the end. It has whimsy, funky traditions, humor, and quirky characters. It also has lots of room for sequels "wink, wink" with unanswered questions.
Louis is the grandson of the current Duke of Arago, a dukedom in the located on the Principality of Evor. With the titles responsibility that he assumes perfectly in his functions as Emissary to another country. One day, he is called back to the castle on the orders of his grandfather to discuss matters of importance. His father being a substance and alcohol abuser and his mother being a very superficial person, the Duke has decided to abdicate and relinquish ,money, title and estate to his grandson. He will bypass his son and the son:s wife and name his grandson. But there are conditions Camille is the sister of a deceased young woman who was branded an arsonist responsible for the murder of six nobles in one of this Country 's Castles. By association, Camille has been humiliated, victim of the wrath and scorn of the population just because the suspected arsonist is her sister. Guess what? She is the woman that grandpa has chosen for him and, he will have to marry her before taking his new position in Paris, as the new Emissary. In addition they will have to stay married and no indiscretions will be tolerated. The author has created a very well written romance/thriller that grips the reader from the start and becomes a page turner ad the masterfully designed plot unravels. Love, distrust, treachery, jealousy and an abundance of twists and turns make this a great read and fun book . I look forward to reading the sequel. I recommend this 5 Stars rated book.
Louis is a jerk. He’s an emotionally unavailable Player who expects his marriage to be nothing more than expedient. He never anticipated the spanner his grandfather threw into the works with his stipulation to marry Camille: one of the most hated people in Mount Evor. Camille’s learned firsthand that every silver cloud has a dark lining. Nothing good ever happens to her, only more bad. The sparks fly from their first meeting as the pair butt heads. Can they overcome all the hard feelings between them to meet their individual goals and possibly find something very special in the process, or are they too entrenched in their personal wounds? I have been desperate to get my hands on more about the Evorian royals since the moment I finished the last book. This story rewarded my patience with a political mystery worthy of any spy thriller. And it’s all wrapped up in a wonderfully snarky enemies-to-lovers romance. I loved chasing the clues with them and it was really quite sweet to watch them lower their walls and let one another in through the process. I think Camille and Louis make an adorable couple and I kind of hate that I have to let go of them now. Hopefully I’ll get to see many cameo appearances from them in future books in the series. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
4.5⭐️ I really enjoyed this story. It was different than most marriage of convenience tropes. I love how both main characters grew & changed, even though it happened faster than seemed possible. Sometimes, the descriptions were more detailed than I needed, but I understand that she was world-building. I liked that there was a bit of suspense that wasn’t 100% resolved, so maybe we’ll get another book with a different main character? 😁 Even though the suspenseful part wasn’t 100% resolved, we still get a HEA. I would have loved an Epilogue that showed them a little down the road, but it wasn’t necessary. 😁. I would definitely read another book by Alix Nichols again. The editing was great & I liked how well-developed her characters are.

A Royal for Christmas. In this volume author Alix Nichols takes a series detour. Instead of searching for more keys, the story focuses on a marriage of convenience between a noble and the sister of the woman accused of setting the fire that disfigured the Evorian Crown Prince. (See The Beast Prince.) Ms. Nichols entices readers with many questions about who actually set the fire and why. The relationship between the principals is interesting, quite hot, and raises even more questions. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. Most highly recommend.
**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
This book is a feel good book with a mystery unfolding within that certainly helps pull you along as the Heroine Camille follows the leads to find out what happened to her sister six years ago when a fire happened in the palace and her sister disappeared.
Louis is called back home by is grandfather the Duke and told that he is going to be the one to next inherit the Dukedom instead of his father. The only problem is that his grandfather puts a stipulation in that he has to marry Camille and stay with her as husband and wife for one year.
During the beginning though Camille pulls Louis in with her request to find out what happened and Louis finds that Camille is very bright and has a knack for solving problems and riddles. He ends up falling hard for the woman he is married to.
Camille on the other hand who has been used to being looked down on for most of her life, wonders why the gorgeous man who called himself her husband wants her. Sometimes she finds herself in trouble and Louis helps her, but Camille is made of strong stuff and when trouble does finally comes for her, Louis proves his worth and proves to Camille that he is the man for her after all.
Trailer Witch to marry playboy royalty. What?! I LOVE this series! It revolves around the royalty of a hidden dukedom, the Duchy of Arrago, tucked away high on a hill but only the select few really know of its existence. It is a jewel of Europe but could be lost forever if the nefarious Kurt Ozzi gets his way. He wants to strip it of all its wealth and of course he’ll find a way to take a sizeable chunk for himself. In order to save this glorious little dukedom, their inhabitants have gone to great lengths. Each of the preceding stories was about a different royal personage finding his missing “key” which turned out to be the love of his life. The “key” to this story is not mentioned to my recollection but Camille accomplishes what is necessary to get them one step closer to a solution. Camille has a history that garners the ridicule of Mount Evor to the extent that she must hide who she is. Why? You’ll see. Marquess Louis-Philibert de Valois has just been told by his grandfather that he must marry Camille for one year, the most hated woman in all of Mount Evor! Why? You’ll see. And, Louis is to take over the realm when his grandfather abdicates. This will seriously detract from Louis’ life as a womanizer. These fictional stories of royalty in an equally fictional town are heartwarming, wittily humorous and passionate. I can’t wait to find out which royal will get picked next. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout. If you like royals and commoners finding common ground, try this series!
Painted with the same brush as her sister, Camille has been cast out and is a pariah in society, forcing her to live in a trailer park because she has nowhere else to go. It would seem that facts have slowly emerged to indicate that Camille is not the evil witch she has been accused of being, and the elderly Duke instructs his grandson to marry her and take over his responsibilities. What an unfortunate start to any relationship! Caught between a rock and a hard place, Louis has no alternative but to offer marriage to Camille and uses his own strong-arm tactics to force her into doing his will. Intelligent, quick-witted, and talented, Camille is furious, but nevertheless realizes that this gives her the opportunity she needs to investigate the fire at the palace as well as the death of her sister. Despite their differences, there is an attraction between Camille and Louis, that is if outside interference does not derail the process. As some of the clouds of mystery surrounding the case begins to lift, Camille's life is put in danger and Louis discovers his true feelings for her. The novel closes on a heartwarming note and is a standalone, although the matter has not been fully resolved, leaving the way open for further books in this series. I received a copy of this romance as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
All in confidence 4.5 It's a good romance, in which childhood suffers from two characters with completely different social status, bringing one thing in common: a great difficulty in trusting. Even though the story takes place during the holiday season, the story is far from starting out as a party. Camille is the one with the reputation of a witch when she is only the one who has lost everything, even her family. Louis is a member of the royal family, jaded with having to play this almost treacherous commoner…. In short, their forced contact is far from easy. I loved their story which is full of twists and turns, of research to solve an investigation, but above all their step by step attempt to let the other in, to trust again, all with a little touch of warmth in this romance which slowly but surely increases in intensity. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Alix pulls you right in to the perfect mystery romance story! I loved this arranged marriage by Louis’ grandfather that have the parties kicking and screaming going in, yet turns all kinds of complicated fairly quickly! Camille may be a pauper with future plans of vindicating her sister of the crime of setting the fire at the palace that caused the deaths of 6 people, and agrees to the marriage with proviso that Louis will help her gain access to the investigation. Louis won’t lose his family’s home, so is forced in to the marriage with Camille for one year. Yet when the two begin to work together to unravel the mystery of the fire, and the palace events, Louis learns an appreciation for Camille that goes much deeper than their platonic marriage. Will they solve the 6 year mystery without risking their lives? You have to read to find out!
he’s a mime - and loves it One day changes her life forever. A prince finds her and tells her they are getting married!!! His grandfather feels he has to make things right for her and insists they get married. So they do a fake wedding . . .. and get to know each other, Great story — danger, love, confusion. This book has it all. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my ow
Mystery, questions, intrigue, drama twisted with a royal and Christmas, this is my cup of tea. Camille and Louis could not be more opposite from each other, but his grandfather tries to help Camille from a past misunderstanding, this story takes you on a fast ride.

Opposites attracts, or so we are to believe?? Two souls going through their lives, one rejected by the actions of a sibling, one pushed aside due to unreasonable circumstances of parents. Brought together by a grandfather who love spice
Arc review for honest review. When marquees Louis philbert valios pays mademoiselle Camilla mussey a visit he makes a deal with her about the truth of her family to clear their name if she marry him . this was a great story loved the chase for the truth.
Louis de Valois, Duke of Arrago, is told he has to marry Camille, a pariah in Mount Evor after her sister was blamed for a fire in the royal palace that killed six people. Louis can't understand why his grandfather is insisting on this marriage before he transfers the title of Duke of Arrago to Louis, but Louis follows his command. Camille only agrees on the condition she can continue to investigate what actually happened to her sister. How are they going to get through a year of a marriage with no sex?

Alix Nichols has done it again! I absolutely A Royal for Christmas! I loved every moment on every page of A Royal for Christmas it was impossible to put down. Alix Nichols definitely did not disappoint her readers with A Royal for Christmas and has once again delivered an incredible story filled with everything that I love in sizzling Christmas romance stories. I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed as Alix Nichols is an amazing author and writer and her book's are always worth reading. Happy reading everyone
I have to admit that it took me awhile to get into this book since I'm from the U.S. and all of the diplomatic and other words and places in bit really used to hindered my comprehension at first. However, once I picked up on all of it again and got used to the writing and setting, I really got into the story! I loved how there was a mystery component of a crime they're trying to solve. I also hope that Kurt gets brought down in time! I can't wait to see what happens next and whose story is going to be told! I voluntarily received and read an ARC for an honest review.
This series of books set in the fictional European country of Mount Evor has been highly entertaining. A Royal for Christmas tells the story of Louis, the heir to a duchy, and Camille, the woman most hated in Mount Evor. Their arranged marriage is unorthodox and each of them has their own purpose for acquiescing to the old duke's marriage demand. This book has an equal amount of romance, suspense and comedy woven through its pages. It is well-written and the plot is unpredictable, making for a fun read. The characters have depth and are interesting. The author provides enough answers to keep the reader from getting frustrated, while leaving a few threads dangling for additional books. One caveat: This is an adult novel, with some steamy bedroom scenes 5 stars
