Kin of the Fallen

Rate this book
It’s serial killer VS bikers

The world’s most notorious slashers hacked their way into our psyches and buried their hatchets in our hearts. Summer camps became sinister slaughterhouses, jigsaw puzzles twisted into bloody brainteasers, and all small Texas towns conjured images of cannibalistic chainsaw carnage.

But these bloodthirsty butchers didn’t only slay the victims, they destroyed the loved ones left picking up the pieces of their shattered lives.
The parents.
The children.
The siblings.
The uncles, aunts, cousins, friends…

Grief breeds rage and vengeance within the Kin of the Fallen MC.
It’s their creed. It’s on the patch they wear.
For this crew, stopping these killers before they strike again is the only thing that eases the pain and satisfies their need for justice.

There’s a new breed of slasher stalking the streets. He’s heard tales of the Kin of the Fallen and sees the bikers’ threats as a personal challenge. Now, he’s hunting them down and ripping them apart limb by severed limb.

Be advised. This is a work of extreme horror and contains very graphic elements.

My name is Carver Pike. Since as far back as I can remember, I've been fascinated by everything horror. I'd sit cross-legged in front of the TV and watch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre while devouring a bowl of Kaboom cereal. I always wished the ghost at the end of each episode of Scooby-Doo wouldn't be just another man behind the mask. I wanted real ghastly ghouls, dastardly demons, and malevolent monsters.

At some point, I knew I couldn't sit back and keep watching this horror world from the stands. I wanted to be in the game. So, now I wield this virtual pen and sling ink onto this page with the hopes of someday being a major player. I want to create those worlds you visit, feed that fear that keeps you up late at night, and entertain you in ways only the greatest storytellers can.

Be advised, most of my books are very graphic in nature. Most contain strong violence, and some have very detailed sex scenes. I try to give you a warning in the book blurb.

Hopefully, we'll form a great author-reader relationship and you'll come to trust that Carver Pike will always keep you entertained.

There is no other sensation that can quite match driving a motorcycle. Whether it is a Harley or a Vespa, there is joy in feeling the wind all over.
Of course, the flip side of the coin is that you will also feel the rain, hail, snow, swarm of bloodthirsty locusts (don’t ask) or whatever nature can throw at you. Also, I have never fallen and bled while being in a car.
But maybe that’s part of the rush?

Carver Pike wrote a slasher-horror where the biker gang (Kin of the Fallen – who happen to be the good guys) become the victims of an almost inhuman monster. If there are more stories like this, I have not read any, so for me it was a fresh take on the theme.
Also, the bikers are all family members of victims that have been killed by serial/spree killers. I found some of those references really hilarious – which sounds completely sick, I know – but if you have a decent knowledge of slasher stories, you will catch a lot of references that never gets a direct mention.

And I don’t really want to tell you too much more – this is a gory, extreme, sexed-up horror books with a good pace and an author that seems to be hitting his stride.

Recommended to Splatterpunk/extreme horror fans!

I ate this up in two servings. Couldn't put it down. I re-read the last two chapters immediately after finishing. Carver Pike never disappoints. I'm hoping for a sequel.

Not many people could write an almost 400 page slasher and make it good, but Carver Pike pulled it off. The storyline and character development have a lot more heart than your average slasher story; you actually grow tobreally care about the characters. Probably the best slasher story I've read. If you crossed Sons Of Anarchy with Friday The 13th, you might end up with something like Kin Of The Fallen.

Carver Pike is an expert story teller. The way he intertwines so many characters who keep the story going (even when they are killed!!) is truly a feat. I loved this one especially because it was the same Carver Pike I’ve grown to love but seemed different in its complexity and unique storyline. If you already enjoy Carver’s work I’m assuming you already plan on reading this one. If you have not yet had the pleasure of being introduced to this man’s fine work, then get on it, I say !!

There’s a lot to like about this one. Fun premise: biker gang made up of those who lost loved ones to serial killers (sorry, Grady. The support group wasn’t enough). The gang then hunts serial killers until a serial killer hunts them. Got all that?

I really enjoyed the reader services/Easter eggs (e.g. a horror podcast name dropping indie horror books, accompanying Spotify playlist). There’s brutal kills, erotic scenes, and a lot of awesome stuff. I think the ending could’ve been a bit better, but I’ll refrain from weighing in on that too much. Overall, a great book and a unique slasher.

Wow! Just wow! I read this book in one day… well… technically 2 days because I finished about 130 AM this morning and all plans yesterday got canceled except for feeding my family (why they need dinner every single day.. geez 🙄) This book was beyond what I expected a slasher story about a motorcycle club to be. The characters were so detailed that I got to know them and care about them. I really enjoyed the “Easter eggs” for some of the greatest slasher movies ever made. A few times I found myself speed reading because the anxiety was riding high and needed to find out what happened. The details were so in-depth you could visualize everything that was going on while reading it. I cringed a lot because some of the kills were so graphic, intense, unique, and brutal And the ending and how he tied it altogether… just freaking brilliant!

Excellent story! Just the kind of story I was in the mood for and one I couldn’t put down! Filled with sensational characters, top notch character development, a brilliant storyline, and chillingly gore filled moments that will keep you hooked and on the edge of your seat throughout. Truly an excellent read and one I highly, highly, recommend.

Well that was brutal! Absolutely loved this book start to finish. Fantastic concept that as a massive film fan I could get instantly behind, awesome characters and savage violence. Even got some hot sex scenes in there amongst the carnage. Massive fan of Carver's work and this latest addition is up there with his best. Awesome book that I'd highly recommend.

Kin of the Fallen is the third novel I've read by Carver Pike, and once again, I really enjoyed it. Does he write a bad book?? Seems not.
It took me back to the nights I would stay up late watching slasher movies when my parents were in bed. You know, where there is always a killer who is supposed to be human but always possesses inhuman strength who stalks along with a patient and deadly pace. Those movies always had me staying up way too late, and then I'd be paranoid and lock all the doors and windows, which was out of the ordinary when I was growing up. Snap forward to the present day, and I've been literally looking over my shoulder when I'm driving and scanning the streets for suspicious looking giants while reading this book. 🤔 😆 Judge if you must. I have an active imagination, and while reading a book, this brutal, it's bound to act up.
Kin of the Fallen is about a motorcycle club consisting of members who have all lost someone to a seriel killer. These survivors are left behind with grief in their hearts and vigilante shit on their minds. They single handedly brought down one killer and think it's a job well done. It is, except that now there is an even more violent killer on the rampage, and it seems he may be headed in the club's direction. Can they handle this brutal maniac? Who will survive?
Gotta read it to find out! This tale is so wild. I'm bummed I didn't pick this book up sooner, and now I'm sad that it's over.
I tend not to like using the star system, but this is such an easy 5 out of 5 stars.

4.5 rounded up.
I loved Sons of Anarchy, so when I saw that this book was a biker club meets a slasher story I was immediately sold on the idea. Pike really executed the idea well, with great humor and kill scenes that will make any fan of brutal demises smile. The slasher, Craw, was fun and the ending was satisfying. The characters idiosyncrasies added a sense of rhythm to the book and the music references gave me a sense of connection with the universe, these things made for a fast paced and thoroughly entertaining read.
I had to take a break from this book at one point because it was just too horny for this sex-repulsed reader (which probably means that if you're into that kind of stuff those were good scenes), after that I skimmed those scenes a bit and I don't feel like I lost much of the story.

Kin of the Fallen by Carver Pike is a hardcore and graphic story filled with brutality and violence, yet it’s also complex and powerful and rich with loyalty and human connection.

Though there’s no overwriting or tedious character narrative, I still got to know the characters deeply. I even got to know Craw, and I’m not entirely sure how I feel about that. That being said, the characters’ individual personalities and character interactions are thoroughly entertaining—laugh-out-loud fun in some places, evocative and impactful in others.

And then there’s the action, the suspense, the horrors. Every time I said, “Carver, you better not go there,” Carver went there. Of course he did. He pulled no punches. You feel this story in your core.

Friendship, love, sex, humor, violence, torture, pain—this is extreme horror as only Carver Pike can pen it. A highly recommended read for those with the intestinal fortitude to ride with the Kin of the Fallen.

Carver Pike does it again

As always another amazing story from Carver Pike. It’s serial killers vs MC where the MC is made up of survivors of family who was killed. The MC will stop at nothing to stop these killer and avenge their loved ones. But the killers don’t care who the MC is and it becomes a gory battle of who will survive. Don’t put the book down, don’t blink because you’ll want to know what happens next. But I’m not giving any spoilers you’ll have to read it to find out. Highly recommend!

I keep finding more and more enjoyable reads from Carver. I found that Carver did well of creating a slasher biker themed novel. While throwing nods to the great slashers from movies without over doing on copying those plots. I’d say if you wanted to know what would happen if a brutal killer like Viktor Crowley (Hatchet) took on the bikers from Sons of Anarchy this would be you kind of story.

It’s chock full of brutal guttural kills and lots of spicy scenes. Carver did well of blending in LGBTQ characters as well.
I’ve read and seen many times characters from West Virginia that have been over topped in cliches and Carver is able to always have accurate representation of my WV peeps.

Side note would love to see Carver wrote a Wrong turn type novel.

Nostalgic and very well written

Carver Pike is a slasher phenomenon! He literally knows how to make you relate to his characters ( even the slasher in this one! ), he takes you through the plot with page turning and nail biting as you read on to the next gruesome and brutal murder or amazingly written ( highly detailed ) erotica scenes. This was a great read with a lot of mentions of some horror movie buffs favorites and a wicked soundtrack to boot. Check this out. You definitely won't be disappointed!

"PROOOOOOOOOOOF"

Ok, so I finished this one by Carver Pike , and, let me tell you - I have NEVER felt so tense when reading a book. My jaw is sore from grinding my teeth. The left side of my lower lip now has a swollen bump from me chewing on it the whole time I was reading it. I literally would have to put the book down in short bursts to give my psyche a break.

THIS WAS AWESOME!! From page one, it was tense, suspenseful, and gory in the best slasher style!!

I mean c'mon. It's bikers vs a serial killer. What more do you need to know?

This is not the first book I've read from this author. Every book I've read of his has been just amazing, and he has a knack for coming up with the most creative ways for characters to meet their demise.

I think you'll agree with me after you read this that this would make an awesome movie!!

Well done, Mr. Pike. Well done.

Right up my dark alley!

This was an 80s fanatic's wet dream. So many references to such a rad decade. I love slasher films and this book was a very detailed, very horrific slasher story. If you are faint of heart, this book is not for you. It is chalk full of violence, gore, and some steamy sex. But mostly, blood and guts. Very graphic. It's to die for!

What an awesome book, the kills were next level for me. The background of the characters were excellent especially if you watch 80’s and 90’s horror films. In my opinion flawless book. Great job to the author.

Kin of fallen will take you on an emotional ride. There is will be pain, sadness and most importantly horror. The books from this author are more graphic than general books and he does not limit in his descriptions throughout the books so readers be aware. However, the book hooked me from the very first page a MC group which was founded through the pain of losing a loved one in the most horrible way. Pain will never go away especially when there are still murders running free on the streets. Blood will spill, emotions will run high and danger is just around the corner. If you are brave enough to go on this journey buy this book now!

Holy catballs Batman!!!

Dude!!! If you're reading this, run, don't walk, and get this book! This one has everything you could possibly get in a horror story!!! Carved seriously outdid himself on this one! The dirty details are so graphic you can fully picture exactly what each scene looks like down to the rivlets of blood running down each area of the body. I would have nightmares if I was Carver with the imagination he has. A must read!!!

*I'm not going to give you the 'what this book is about' blurb - you can read that elsewhere.

1. Where to even start? I was hesitant to read this one because I didn't think I was going to vibe with it, yet here I am giving it 5 freaking stars. Because that's what Carver Pike does.
2. Speaking of Carver, I'm mad at him. This isn't a spoiler so much because he puts it right in the beginning of the book, but Carver Game of Thrones-ed the shit out of these characters. He writes these people you just love and relate to and want to protect and be friends with and *BAM* - dead. I know that a lot of the books I read do this, but Carver just has a way of making characters that hurt more when they die. So yeah, we beefin'. 😜
3. This book almost has some slasher/last girl vibes. Especially with the bad guy's next level strength and nothing left to lose attitude that make him dangerous. EXCEPT in a terrifying turn of events, unlike Michael Myers, this MFer runs and stuff.
4. I truly didn't think I'd enjoy reading about a motorcycle club but for all intents and purposes it's not that different than any other type of club or team, just a sub-culture that I'm not part of, however, the actual sub-culture was such a small part of the novel. This was the part that had me worried about reading it for no reason 😊.
5. ARE WE GONNA GET A SECOND?!?!!!

Faces of Beth was one of my stand out reads for last year, so when I found out this book promised serial killer slasher vibes with some outlaw MC vigilante action, I knew this would be a book I would devour.

The slasher vibes were definitely there. This is a slasher through and through. If you like blood and gore, you will love this book. From start to finish it’s filled with it. There were some really unique and grotesque kills, some of which were hard to read. The characters were fun, but there are a lot of them so I felt left a little wanting as far as development was concerned, but I reckon this can be seen as a good thing with how many kills there are.

My own qualm, which is just me personally learning what I like and don’t like, is there are also some intensely graphic sexual and sexually violent scenes that felt a little gratuitous for me. But again, I think they were in line with the overall feel of the book which is definitely extreme horror, this is just a personal dislike that I’m learning as I read more and more.

Carver Pike has become an auto read for me. If you like extreme horror, slashers, sons of anarchy type mc stuff, and lots and lots of gore, this is a book for you.

Loved it

I loved this read. It had me gripped from the first page! I enjoyed learning about each member of the mc and how they became a member and how they served justice to those whom got away through clerical error or from mistakes made. Everyone makes mistakes right? No one is perfect, so it was nice to read how the killers got their just desserts. But I thoroughly enjoyed the chase of craw. He was insane and brutal in everything he did. The whole concept of him chasing a biker gang down was incredible. The chase the blood and gore and the violence he delivered was immense. That was until he got a certain member then his attitude changes for the briefest of moments. It was exciting to read. Would the mc get him before craw for each of them! Will the violence ever end? A fascinating insight into the biker world and also how serial killers minds work. Brilliantly written and loved every minute. Definitely recommend!

Biker vigilantes cleaning up the town, but one serial killer is intent on destroying them all.

The Kin of the Fallen, a motorcycle club formed of those who have lost their loved ones to violence, seek to bring perpetrators to justice. When a serial killer starts picking off the club members one by one, their foe seems insurmountable: a mountain of a man who doesn’t carry weapons, but improvises in the most grotesque and inventive of ways!

I told myself going into this, not to get invested in any of the characters. But I just couldn’t help it - the characterisation is just so good. There is depth below the fight scenes: the community of the bereaved and unwavering solidarity to fight their grief by fighting beyond the odds for justice.

I’ve never read a bad Carver Pike book and this is no exception. Fabulous!

The cover of Kin of the Fallen by Carver Pike shows a man in a hoodie and combat trousers hoisting a biker with a chain around their neck. A bloody knife protrudes from the biker’s back. Blood cascades down their jeans.

Solid action filled story

Loved Bailey, the main character. Loved her relationships with Owen and with her MC brothers and sisters. I thought the story got a bit over told in places but just a bit. When you read a handful of someone's work you start comparing them with themselves. Not Carved Pike's best but still darned good.
