BARR NONE is a story of corruption, secrets, alliances, betrayal, and an unsolved murder case, all set against the backdrop of New York City Big Law, written by former Big Law insider, Amy Impellizzeri.

Carly Jenner is a rising star attorney at one of the most prestigious law firms in New York City: Barr Knoll LLP, named for the larger-than-life founder for whom Carly has wanted to work since she was a little girl. Carly's closest friend at the firm and in life is her colleague, Rain Street - the brilliant, gritty daughter of a prominent film star. Rain is obsessed with the fate of three former Barr Knoll associates known colloquially as the "Triplets" as they were inseparable friends and lawyers. Ten years earlier - following a boozy law firm function at Barr Knoll's Riversedge New York estate - the Triplets crashed their car on the way home. The circumstances of the Triplets' death raised the suspicions of the local DA, and manslaughter charges were filed. But the charges were quickly dismissed and the files were sealed.

When Rain goes missing after a drunken night, Carly doesn't know what to make of her disappearance. But clues are starting to point to a powerful woman at the center of the Triplets' case - whose identity is still unknown. She is referred to only as the "Times Square Madam" in redacted legal papers and for years she apparently worked with young female associates at Barr Knoll. In a dual timeline flashing between the present day and more than a decade earlier when the Triplets were still alive, a story unravels of lies and deception and power grabs at Barr Knoll from the past that have had a lasting ripple effect. Carly and Rain have been unwittingly caught in a firestorm not of their own making, and suddenly Carly finds herself in a life and death race against time to save her career, Rain, and so much more.

I could not put this book down. From the very first page and very first line… I was hooked. The law and those who practice it have always intrigued me. And this novel opened up the curtain a little further. Power, prestige, the need to accomplish and the fight for women take center stage in this novel. Told from two converging time lines with strong voices and a story like that will have you staying up late, canceling commitments and not putting the book down until it’s finished. This novel was amazing.

This is the second in the series of The RIVERSEDGE law club but can be read as a stand alone. Releasing March 7… this is a book that should be on every legal thriller fans list and every woman should read it to find some empowerment

Well written and an intriguing read. I finished it and just said I can’t wait to read the next one!

Barr None by is the second book in the Riverside Law Club series but can easily be read as a standalone. Carly and her friend and colleague Rain both work for Barr Knoll LLP. Over 10 years ago a mysterious car accident took the life of three lawyers who worked for the firm and in this novel they try to find the answer to what really happened because things have always looked suspicious in this case. They get stuck in the middle of something they never saw coming. This book kept me guessing and I couldn't stop reading because I had to see what happened next. The author Amy Impellizzeri was a lawyer herself and we get an inside look at a very competitive and power seeking profession to see what people go through, especially women, to stay on the top of their game at all times. Highly recommend!

Thank you to the author which I won on her FB page.

This book was hard to read and I had to read it in bits and parts daily because the print was so small and crammed on the page. It felt like it even took longer than my usual 4 days to read this.

It was an okay book in my opinion. How it finally came together at the end with the "now" and "then" with this law firm was one of the more interesting parts of this book.

I give Barr None my highest recommendation! Not only does Amy Impellizzeri keep readers on the edge of their seats with a riveting plot line, but she also creates colorful characters who possess multiple dimensions and motives. I loved her ability to shift from the past to the present, clearly defining each time frame in the novel. And there are so many underlying themes in this exciting journey of women enticed to follow a deceptive and compromising legal path. A must read!

She does it again! the author created another masterpiece. This book is like wine, it gets better and better as it progresses. The play on past and future keeps you on your toes trying to decipher what happened and what sort of decisions will these people make. Character development is quite good. Impellizeri masters the creation of most of her protagonists to the point the reader can hear them. Quite a delightful read. This author is the best kept secret of Pennsylvania! Wow!

Complex story about the inner workings of an elite law firm in NYC, and the corruption that exists within.
Carly gets a job at the prestigious law firm, Barr Knoll, but there are many secrets that come to light. The Triplets are a recurring theme - and what happened to these women.

Barr None is not a legal thriller but rather a mystery with a cast of lawyers. Anyway, this is an enjoyable read.
