I've given up on dating. Who would want a single dad with a difficult ex-wife?
One coffee cup mix-up and I have a date for the first time in three years.
Francesca Cappelli is smart and runs a successful business in a male-dominated field. She's unlike anyone I've ever met. Is a woman like her willing to take a chance on me and my pre-teen daughter? Once things start to look up, my ex-wife announces she is moving and plans to take my daughter with her. What woman would sign up for my drama willingly? Francesca Cappelli and no one else.
The York Beach series featuring the Cappelli Family are standalone romances with interconnecting characters. Each novel focuses on one couple (no cliffhangers!) and can be read in any order, but but for maximum enjoyment it is recommended they are read starting with book one.
Nicole took the long way to deciding on becoming a writer. As young as six, Nicole wrote poems and started drafts of novels. After over fifteen years as an attorney she decided to give writing an actual try and finish one of her many stories.
Avid reader, lover of coffee and chocolate, and animals. If she isn’t writing, she is driving to the field, watching a game or curled up with a good book and a cup of coffee. She lives in the Northeast with her husband and their four children.
I loved this book! The characters have traits, flaws and personalities that are fascinating and relatable. Francesca (Frankie) is a landscape architect with her own business that she dedicates most of her time to building and making successful. Long hours don’t leave much time for dating. Tommy is a divorced father of a almost teenage daughter and an ex wife who is currently stirring things up in regards to their shared custody of their daughter. He hasn’t had much success in dating since the divorce, but recently Frankie has caught his interest while they both grabbed a morning coffee. After a short chat, he even asked her about dating. Neither knew their paths would cross professionally. Potential complication, possibly, but neither want anything to preclude them dating. Both are aware of that the connection they feel is rare and both are willing to do the work in order to see if they have a future together. Unfortunately, they also have to deal with her disgruntled competitor and his suddenly irrational and demanding ex wife.
I loved the chemistry and connection between Frankie and Tommy as well as the rapport Frankie has with his daughter. Their story is captivating and everything I enjoy in a romance novel. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
One thing the reader can appreciate in this story is the attraction between Francesca and Tommy right from the start when they see each other at a coffee shop and it leads to a date. The relationship and interaction with his daughter Ellie is also noteworthy, especially when the ex-wife comes back to cause custody problems for him with her upcoming move. Grab your copy and see if a HEA is in Tommy and Frankie’s future. Will Ellie get to choose which parent she wants to be with?
This was a great read and while I haven't read book one you don't feel like you are missing out apart from wanting to read book 1 Chasing Forever once you finish this one as you want more of the Cappelli Family. Francesca aka Frankie and Tommy are great together, both are flawed and real as well as a perfect match and I especially loved how Frankie connects with Ellie.

A sweet tale of romance after divorce. Charming daughter adds much to the tale. I skipped over the intimate details. Pleasant read otherwise. Thanks to Bookspout for providing a copy. My review is voluntary.

Frankie saw Tommy and his daughter Ellie in a pastry shop and was very attracted to him. She didn't know he saw her and had the same reaction. They finally met for coffee and he told her right up front he was divorced with a daughter (which she already knew). Their relationship grew slowly and steadily. Frankie grew to love them both. The ex wife was a problem, but they didn't know she was in trouble. Poor Ellie was heartbroken when her mother kept letting her down. Frankie has some famous cousins that Ellie was over the moon knowing about and when she met one of them, she was struck speechless - hard to do to an almost teenage girl The story moved along quickly, the characters were great and the sex was very hot. I'll look for more stories from this author.
