Noah is a federal prosecutor in New York. After a difficult case he lost, he decides to pack his things, take a vacation of three weeks in Baton Rouge.
In Baton Rouge there is the Federal protection Agency and he goes there to meet his brother Riley, and since it’s romance, he will meet the man that will make a change, a very needed change in his life.
It takes an evening to read this book. In this series I read the first one and it was mostly based on the case they were following, no great description of characters or of their interactions. Instead, in this book, the author said that since she saw some reviewers wished for more description of the main characters, so she did.
In this book there are more reflections the characters do, more sex scenes, more dialogues.
As for the case, sorry but I guessed who did the thing as soon as the culprit appeared and it was really secondary, if I don’t recall it wrong there were 3 chapters about the case, the main focus was on the main characters.
I was a bit disturbed by one chapter, they were talking about the fact that a woman was less… safe to protect children than a man, I found that sort of sexist.
The other aspect I noticed is that sometimes when characters reflect about different aspects of their lives they say one thing and then right after they contradict themselves, I was a bit confused. I do not believe that human beings are logical but this was confusing.
In general I appreciated the story, I also purchased book 2, 3 and 4. Maybe in the sex scenes some details were not my favorite part.
I would suggest this book to adult readers, as I said sex scenes are quite detailed, the story is a romance gay story.

Per quanto riguarda il caso, l’avevo indovinato subito il colpevole, è davvero secondario. Forse sé ne parla in 3 capitoli in tutto.
Una cosa mi ha dato un po’ fastidio. In un paio di punti nei dialoghi si dice che avere come persona a garantire la sicurezza di bambini non fosse una grande scelta, meglio un uomo. Ho trovato un po’ di sessismo qua dentro.
L’altro aspetto che ho notato è che nelle loro riflessioni a volte i personaggi affermano una cosa e poi l’esatto opposto contraddicendosi. Per carità ritengo che l’essere umano non sia del tutto coerente, solo che così era davvero confuso.
In generale ho comunque apprezzato la storia, ho anche comprato i volumi 2, 3 e 4 che mi mancano. Ecco forse alcuni dettagli delle scene di sesso non è che fossero la mia parte preferita.

After seeing too much pain, too many lives ruined by the darkest dregs of humanity that continue to get away with it because they know every legal loophole and underhanded double-deal, Federal Prosecutor Noah Riley is burned out and feeling like his career is a waste. It seems like every decision he has made lately has gone horribly wrong. In hopes of getting his drive back, he goes to New Orleans to visit his brother Ryzen. . . and maybe find someone to take all the decision making completely out of his hands for a few steamy hours. When he meets Fire Captain William Clark at a club, he finds the perfect perfect daddy for himself. Noah even gives William his number in hope of seening him again before he heads home.
When a tragic fire brings the two of them together again, Noah learns William is still in the closet because he doesn't want his sexuality to cause any issues with his crew at the firehouse. He wants his men to trust him, not worry about if their captain is checking them out. But the fact that arson is the cause of the fire and several children died as a result causes them to work closely together with the goal of catching the murderer and putting a stop to the suffering and death they cause.
I found it interesting that as William worried about losing the trust of his crew if they were to learn of his preferences, he showed a marked lack of faith in them to accept him for who he was, both professionally and personally. In fact, the theme of trust comes up continually in the story. Noah has lost all belief in himself and in the legal system, too. But the relationship between them must have complete trust, or the D/s dynamic will never work in the way they both want. In order for their happy ending to come about, they have to find the ability to trust in themselves, those around them, and what they are fighting for. But making themselves vunerable enough to give that trust is so very hard.
I liked the pacing of the book. It gave moments to take a cathartic breath and prepare for the next twist without ever dragging or losing my interest. The secondary characters were great in helping to move the plot forward and giving another perspective to Noah and William when they need it without taking over the story. And the villain was so hateful, but clever - oh so clever.
This has been one of my favorite books in this series so far.
Recommended for fans of Aimee Nicole Walker, Silvia Violet, and Kiki Burrelli.

BDSM, M/M romance with a touch of intrigue and lots of steam
Love the pensive look on the cover model; makes me think of the decisions that Noah must make. Noah at 38yo is beginning to feel burned out in his job as Federal Prosecutor in NYC; always getting the bad guys off the streets only to have on a few occasions a jury let them go. This is painful not because he lost the case but he let down those people who depended on him to get that person in prison. His most recent case involved underage female trafficking. When he loses to the Defense, he’s had it. He takes a three-week vacation to visit his half-brother, Ryzen in Baton Rouge. Keep in mind that Noah never takes vacation! On his first night there he decides to go to a BDSM Club to work out some of his aggravation which he does by being the submissive; letting someone else tell him what to do. He meets “Daddy” who treats Noah with the respect and rough intimacy that he desperately needs.
William Clark is the closeted-gay 40yo Fire Captain who goes to his BDSM Club to work out his angst about his job, seeing so much death and destruction. He prefers to be called “Daddy” rather than Master which makes him think of slavery or Sir which he gets called all day long at work. On that night he meets a guy from out of town who is his perfect submissive.
Ms. Riley was correct in stating that this book would be more about the relationship than the crime involved but it was a nice mix, in my mind. This book is number five in the “FPA” series of standalone but character-interconnected stories. I loved it! I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through BookSirens.

This is the fifth book in Eve Riley's "Federal Protection" series, I would probably have given it three and a half stars because it wasn't my favourite.
As a Federal Prosecutor, thirty five year old Noah Riley had just lost a gruelling case involving children , he is beyond devastated, he knows that he is burning out so in order to try to pull his life together he takes three weeks leave from his NYC job and heads to Batton Rouge where his brother Ryzen works for the Federal Protection Agency, an agency whose sole purpose is the protection of children.
Noah is openly gay and a night at a gay club was exactly what he needed to relax, he needed to meet someone who would take charge, make him forget.
Forty year old William Clark was Captain of the Batton Rouge Fire Department and a closet gay, he couldn't risk coming out and his men losing respect for him.......could the handsome man that he met at the gay club change his mind ?
This story follows the clandestine meetings of Noah and William, of Noah helping his brother solve the mystery of a deliberate fire where a woman and nine children died, of William's gay status being revealed.
Some parts of this story didn't ring true for me, Noah just walking into a prestigious new job, William keeping his gay status secret whilst working with a load of men in a small town and visiting gay clubs.
I know a lot of people will love this story but for me there was too much explicit sex and not enough storyline.

I’m back with another book by Eve Ripley. Book 5 in the Federal Protection Agency. Please note that though this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. Also, trigger warning for light BDSM.
I have been fortunate because I have been able to read and review all the books in this series thus far and if you have read my reviews for the other books in the series, you’d know that I’ve been loving them. Noah is no different. I loved this book.
Noah started off a little different from the other books because it didn’t start with a case, but with steam. Steam being the meeting of Noah and William and let’s just say they hit it off really well.
Noah is a federal prosecutor and, after his last case, he is burnt out and in need of a vacation. On a whim, he decides to go visit his brother, Ryzen. Within minutes of walking through the door of the Federal Protection Agency, a case comes in and Noah offers to help. There he meets William again and the two start keeping to know each other better.
This book was not as case-centric as the others, but I didn’t mind. It was just so sweet and steamy that I grinned and swooned through it. I freaking loved William and Noah.
Another book and job well done. On to the next one, I hope.

I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to the Federal Protection Agency Series. This book covers some heavy topics so please take note of the trigger warnings. We finally get to meet Ryzen’s half brother and Federal Prosecutor Noah. I thought him and Fire Captain Williams Clarke were perfect for each other and their chemistry was completely off the charts. They give each other exactly what they need to be able to let go and get out of their heads for a bit. On his first night in town he has a hot as hell encounter with a dominant stranger, and they agree that they’d like to meet up again while Noah is in town.
The dominant stranger took Noah’s number and will text Noah details of when/where to meet. The two are pretty shocked when they meet again in the light of day at a crime scene where a safe haven foster home was burnt down. The poor kiddos and their amazing foster mother Mel were locked inside the house. This book focuses more on the relationship between Noah and Williams than the case, since they aren’t really involved in the investigation which I’m not disappointed about. I’m looking forward to reading Damien next, as well as more books from Evie Riley in the future. I’d recommend this book, series and author to others.

After a particularly stressful court case, Federal Prosecutor Noah Riley heads to Baton Rouge for 3 weeks to try to decompress. He plans to see his brother Ryzen, but he also hopes to find a Dominant to take his decision making away for awhile, at least in the bedroom. His first night in town he meets a Daddy who more than meets his expectations. Fire Chief William Clarke is definitely in the closet at work, but the connection with Noah is so strong, he sees him nightly at his home after work. When Noah gets involved with his brother in the investigation of a fire, danger directly impacts both William and Noah, leading both men to realize what they want.
This book is part of the Federal Protection Agency series, one of the books which is about Noah’s brother, so you have character cross-overs. Noah and William are characters easy to identify with, wanting them to find a future together. Plot in all the books in this series are interesting and pull the reader in. Waiting for the next one to come out. They are easy reads.

Another great book to read! This book was hard to put down. A real page turner.
Noah is a Federal Prosecutor and he just lost a big case. Noah takes three weeks of vacation and drives to Baton Rouge to visit his brother. William is a Captain in the Fire Department and is in the closet. William goes to the club to find someone to play with. William and Noah meet and hit it off. After spending time together they agree to see each other again while Noah is in town. William get called to a fire and the Agency gets called out because there were kids that died. Noah is visiting his brother at the Agency and agrees to go along incase he is needed. Noah works the case and follows a lead that leads him to the arsonist. Before Noah can leave he is hit on the head, a fire is started and William is called to the scene. When William finds out that Noah is inside the burning house he gets his gear on and goes in to get him. Will Noah stay in Baton Rouge???? Will Willaim get the chance to talk to Noah Again????.

This is a rather shorter book and involves Noah, a man clearly burnt out by his job, the Fire Captain, William who is a closeted gay man. Ryzen is Noah's brother and is the connection to the Protection Agency.
There are areas that could be stronger. One, Noah is able to get a job as a Professor without even meeting the Department and that is just not the way Universities work. Two, Noah gets a job interview for the next morning with no evidence that he submitted his Curriculum Vitae. Three, while there is clearly some recognition of Noah's burnout, that is about the only real exploration of his character. Four, William comes out by trying to save Noah in a fire - usually coming out is a significant emotional rollercoaster. Five there is no exploration of William's character.
Now, for the good. The writing style is clear, smooth and makes for a good story. The BDSM is minor and so even those who are not into any form of BDSM will not mind it.

I was looking forward to this fifth book in the 'Federal Protection Agency' series. For me I had a slight disconnect with Noah and William. I could not believe Noah just walked away and left the witnesses qithour apparent support or appeal preperation. I can believe he is burned out, but to me his departure withou notice felt unbelievable. I am however happy for him about the chances he is able to make. About William, I was just surprised how repressed he seemed in being out, but on thw otbwr hand went to a club in or near his hometownwith a particular preference. Also 'starting' on your partner whilst he is still asleep, that is on the edge for me. I however liked their chemistry and their apparent BDSM click and boy there ia a lot of heat and also a fair bit of sweetness betwewn these men.. I am happy they do find their hea. The agency is just marginal there in this story and that particular story element is resolved as well.

The heritage continues in the fifth book in the Federal Protection Agency series and does not disappoint. I devoured the pages in short order. This book is a bit different from the others in the series with an early emphasis on character development; I was made to care for the characters in the story almost immediately. The mystery and suspense element of the book is relegated to the background to concentrate on the budding relationship of William and Noah until it’s not. The mystery/suspense elements swiftly jump front and center at breakneck speed and provides for a surprising page turning experience to the end. I honestly did not put the book down until I had read the last chapter, and read it in a single sitting! The only “down side” is that the book was too short and left me wanting more. I was provided a copy of this book by the author, and am leaving this review that reflects my opinion of the book voluntarily.

Ahhh! I LOVED everything about this book! Without a doubt, my favourite in the series so far. It had everything I could want; so much more about the MC's relationship than in previous books which was amazing alongside another interesting plot with the Federal Protection Agency. Noah was a brilliant character and had great chemistry with William, aka his 'daddy'. There were plenty of moments when I thought my kindle was going to set fire with how steamy these two were - I loved every second! I also enjoyed getting a hint at some of the other characters in this world like William's fire crew and the revelations in the sneak preview of Damien's book Blew. My. Mind. I can't wait for book 6 to be released!
Overall, a fantastic book in a series that really is going from strength to strength! I would definitely recommend it to those who like MM romance.

I did not think that Eve Riley could outdo “Ryzen” but hello “Noah”! This book quickly became my favorite installment of the Federal Protection Agency series. I know that the author received some feedback in previous book review regarding the slow development of the character relationships. I think this book wonderfully balances the romance and suspense portions of the story. Each comes to the forefront at the right time and in a seamless manner. I was pulled in right from the start and enjoyed that we got to see Noah and William get together rather quickly in the story. The mystery/suspense was well written and well developed which is something Eve Riley excels at. I always love seeing the characters from the previous books and the preview for the next book has me counting the days until its release.

I liked this book but there were just too many times Riley asked us to suspend disbelief. Noah is a hotshot prosecutor, but he was only working one case? And when it went south, he literally drove away for three weeks without much notice to coworkers, boss, or anyone? William is fully closeted, doesn't tell anyone he is gay, and no one figures it out? People who are absolutely, 100% determined that no one can know about their orientation or the whole world will disintegrate, but then they are out and EVERYONE is supportive? Ryzen who is practically psychic in other books is clueless about his own brother's issues? Jobs open up and are obtained in one afternoon? A fire that kills one person outright doesn't even scar another? Please, Riley, will a unicorn be by later? I like a happy ending too, but sometimes an author reaches too darned far to make that happen.

I loved that this book was a little different from the others in the series, a little more focused on the couple and not so much on their works. Although of course their respective jobs are an important part in how things develop between them.
We can see that Noah presents symptoms of PTSD and needing a break, he goes to visit his younger brother only to be involved in another case. The good thing is that he meets William, who will be the key piece for his recovery.
And at the same time, Noah will be what William need to start living his life being 100% himself.
I was so focused on William and Noah's story that I didn't see the signs that indicated who was the arsonist, which was… 🤔 I do not know… I liked the surprise, it was basically in front of my eyes from the start 🙃.

I enjoyed this story with the intense relationship between the two men which changed William's beliefs on coming out to his staff and colleagues just like it firmed Noah's next steps in his career. I was thrilled for them both when they finally had all the peace and tranquillity in their lives and the confidence to live openly as a committed couple. Lots of discussion on emotions and beliefs for both men and he correct outcomes. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Noah is book 5 in the Federal Protection Agency series and concerns Noah, a prosecution counsellor and a sub, and William, a Fire Service Captain and a dom. Noah has taken a three week vacation to put off the total burnout he is about to experience. On his first night he meets up with William and makes a connection which will be a life saver in more than one way.
The relationship is believable and a joy. There are some explicit scenes and the dom / sub element is a bit strong at times but the storyline is great and more than compensates if that isn’t your thing. As with the rest of the series there are some horrific moments and the threat that lovers may be torn apart. It meshes well with the earlier books without the need to reprise storylines.

Oh my! Where do I begin?? With every book in the series I read, I fall for the men of the Federal Protection Agency and their HEAs. I wondered what was going to pull Noah into this series because I was wanting a story about the man that Ryzen trusted.
William and Noah had such an explosive chemistry in the bedroom and sweet love outside of it. My concern for how William would be able to admit to his men that he was gay was unnecessary because they were amazing people too. I only wish I could have had a scene of Noah finding out that William had let his feelings for him show and everyone knew they were a couple.

I love this book. Eve Riley has outdone herself with Noah. Noah is a burn out from his job and tired of seeing the bad guys get away with the crimes they committed. He decides to visit his brother and hooks up with William. William is the captain of the fire department, gay and in the closet. They meet up again after a horrific fire and they are working together with Federal Protection Agency. The chemistry is seen from the moment they meet until the last page. The book is romantic, has low angst has great characters and has a great flow to it. It's also action-packed with some intense moments and their relationship is a slow build. It was great seeing all the previous characters and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

Eve Riley writes graphic romance, so don't be surprised. Noah and William meet at a club and have a great time. Noah gives William his number but doesn't get his. William is in Baton Rouge to see his brother, who is all the family he has, after a rotten stretch in his career as a Federal Prosecutor in NYC. I loved how she made these very different men alive and showed us how well they fit together. They fall fast, but it feels natural. Bad things happen, and they support each other sweetly and with such love. These are guys whose lives require them to be tough so seeing them soften toward each other is delightful. A good story with good characters and a good ending!

He is afraid of revealing his personal secrets and losing their respect. When they meet, it's snap, crackle and pop! They meet each other's needs, but will it last? Can Captain Bill come out? Will his reception be as expected? The heat kicks up with a mystery to solve while getting to know each other. Good story, great characters. This story is enjoyable and could be longer. Well done. If you have ever had job burn out, it is easy to relate to Noah and his feelings of tiredness, loss and disillusion. After losing a difficult court battle, he takes a much needed escape to Louisiana to spend time with his brother and decide his future. But like most driven people, Noah can't help but get involved with a dangerous case of arson and lost lives of innocent children. As Noah tries to sort his future amid suspense and drama, William is also on the edge of how much he is willing to risk for his happiness. This is a fast read, but contains all the elements needed to grab your interest until the HEA. It is heavy on the smexy times, but overall the emotional journey of the characters is well written to keep you invested in the story.

Noah Riley is burned out from his Federal Prosecutors job, and needs a break. He heads to Baton Rogue for 3 weeks to visit his brother Ryzen. Soon after arriving he joins Ryzen and Knox on an investigation into a fire of a foster care safe house. Nine kids and their foster parent are murdered. Fire Captain William Clark and his team are the firefighters who put out the blaze and determined it was arson. This story has plenty of drama, but it shows more of the emotions these first responders and investigators cope with each case. Each and every book in this series has me yearning for the next arrive.

The books in the Federal Protection Agency series get better and better. I love them all! I can't read them fast enough. Noah needed to recharge, so he took a vacation to visit his brother, where he unexpectedly met William. Noah and William had explosive chemistry from their first meeting. He needed to recharge. As with all the previous stories, this story brought the drama. I am chomping at the bit for Damien's story. Three blur sounds absolutely amazing. Each book can be read as a standalone. However, I would start at book one. You will not be disappointed.

I love the men of the FPA. This book is an emotional rollercoaster. It runs the gamut from steaming hot sex to heart wrenching events to a final HEA. While some of the events here were hard to read, they were necessary for the story line. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It kept me wanting more… wanting to know what happened next and when the bad guy would get his just desserts. I was never disappointed. I think everyone who reads this will like it as much as I did.

I totally enjoyed this book! I have not read any of the series "The Federal Protection Agency" before. With spicy sex scenes and great characters, this book kept me interested through the whole story. I loved Noah and William, their confidence in their jobs but also in tune with their emotional needs changing. I found this book so in line with my tastes, I am a little hesitant with the next as it involves three men. I will definitely go back and read the previous books. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

Returning for a case with the Federal Protection Agency is always a good read. William and Noah have an instant connection. Their romance moves very quickly and is quite heated. The drama the story reveals is heartbreaking so when justice is served you’re not sad. These m/c’s are enjoyable and when the HeA comes along it’s great.
