Return to Keller Ranch #2

Her Cowboy Baby Daddy

Rate this book
He’s always been the love ‘em and leave ‘em type, until she gives him a reason to stay.

Former cowboy Spence Keller never puts down roots, so when he’s needed back home on Keller Ranch, he drops everything to return. After a belligerent neighbor shuts off a much-needed water supply, Spence volunteers to negotiate a water lease with Hayley Parker, another neighboring ranch owner. He and shy Hayley have a history, so it should be simple, but things are made complicated when he sees Hayley, now confident, gorgeous, and armed with a counteroffer.

Ranching is in Hayley’s blood, but after her father passes, she’s lonely. Hayley’s always wanted a child, but is too independent to run her ranch and raise her child with someone else. She’s exploring sperm donors when her handsome neighbor saunters into her barn with a proposition. Spence is perfect—he’s hot as hell and always has one foot out the door.

Spence is definitely up for a no-strings affair with Hayley, but father a child and walk away? Never. Can he convince Hayley that he’s ready to settle down and raise a family—with her?

Ok-reading
Romance agradable con el tema Vaqueros.

Her Cowboy Baby Daddy de Jeannie Watt

Argumento:

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A delightful, candid take on complex yet down-to-earth people trying to live simple lives, with just a bit of drama, “Her Cowboy Baby Daddy”, by Jeannie Watt (Tule Publishing), is a sweet romance featuring two great protagonists.
This is a slice of their lives in all its simplicity and sometimes emotional drama and internal conflict, with a few revelations and a lot of honesty and authenticity.
Both protagonists are likeable, relatable characters. It was interesting to have a heroine, Hayley, affected by shyness but who dealt with it in a rational way. Still handling it, we see how it’s a challenge for life.
Spence is such a wonderful hero, down-to-earth, kind, honest. The sincerity of this man admitting his feelings is endearing. He also has a sensitive soul behind that pragmatic persona.
I liked the play of perceptions between social image and self-image, the before and after Spence’s locking episode and its embryonic relevance in the romantic relationship.
The secondary characters are compelling, too, and some would make great protagonists (Andie, Vince).
Even though the story is simple, sometimes schematic, there’s some psychological complexity and peculiar situations to deal with, making it an enjoyable read.

We are back at the Keller Ranch where the middle sibling gets his story.
Spence Keller, a welder by trade, has been a rolling stone since leaving home. Now that his Dad is having back surgery, he’s back home temporarily to help run the ranch while he’s recovering.
When a neighbor is battling the water lease with the Keller’s, Spence is sent to Hayley’s ranch. Her Dad and the senior Keller had an agreement years ago and maybe she will agree to help the Keller’s out .
In HS , Hayley was the quiet studious type usually overseen, but when Spence got in hot waters, she helped him. After years of not having contact, the attraction is evident. But Spence is a wonderer and Hayley has her own agenda.
Will these two realize that sometimes when you least expect it, it’s worth taking a chance at love? Will they be able to find their HEA or will experiences from childhood keep them apart?
This was a good addition to the series and leaves this reader anxious to she what else this author has in store for us.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

It was so good to come back t beautiful Montana and the Keller ranch in Jeannie Watt’s latest story.
Her Cowboy Baby Daddy stars middle Keller son Spence, who’s been working as a mobile welder and travelling across the country as a result. He’s back to help out on the ranch because his father needs surgery, though he’s only planning to stay temporarily. Spence is a wonderful character. He’s all cowboy, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment.
Hayley Parker owns and runs the neighbouring Lone Tree Ranch. She’s determined to have a baby and soon, but doesn’t want the father involved in raising her child having seen how relationships affected her parents. As she and Spence get to know each other, there are plenty of sparks, though Hayley is determined to stay her path. I loved watching Spence break down her barriers as these two fell in love. His family provide a strong backdrop to this romance and the appearance on the page of several cute animals helps to keeo things light. This book has been an absolute pleasure to read.

Her Cowboy Baby Daddy (Return to Keller Ranch Book 2) by Jeannie Watt gave me pause when love’em and leave’me Spence Keller suddenly wants to be a dad who is committed. Hayley Parker deals with her honesty acknowledging her shyness but also moving past it as she goes for what she wants out of life. This causes Spence to do so soul searching to decided what he really wants out of life too.

Two characters who have known each other when they were younger show the change over the years, now having the ability to ask and answer the hard questions. With a bit of drama these two special characters find out what is important in their lives. Immerse yourself today in a wonderful story of everyday people living everyday lives with striving to fulfill everyday dreams.

An ARC of the book was given to me by Tule Publishing which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“Her Cowboy Baby Daddy” by Jeannie Watt is book 2 of the Return to Keller Ranch series.

This time it’s Spence Keller’s turn to come home to the family ranch. When a neighbor is up to some no-good tricks, the family needs Hayley Parker’s help. Since Spence knew Hayley in high school, he agrees to be the one to ask.
Hayley Parker has grown a lot since the time she and Spence knew each other. Still the ranch-loving girl, she isn’t the shy girl she once been. Now, she knows what she wants and who she wants to help her get it.
She and Spence just have to find a way to get what they both want.

I’ll admit, I don’t really like the title, but I do enjoy books by Jeannie Watt. She gives an insider look into ranch life and gives us characters who we instantly want to see get their HEA.

This is such an entertaining read and a wonderful addition to this series. I loved reading Spence and Hayley's story. Spence comes home to help out on the ranch but he is only planning on staying temporary. Hayley wants a baby but doesn't want a relationship. When these two come together their story is funny, a little emotional with some drama. You do not want to miss this book. It will keep you glued to the pages from start to finish. I liked this story overall, however I did find that Spence came off immature and took a little while to grow on me, he comes from a big family and so he was more of the shy kid however when he spoke his mind and he didn't like the response he would run off. Haley was the opposite she seemed to take the life she was given by the horns and tackled whatever it through at her and she was learning and growing as she went, no one or anything was going to hold her back. Overall this was a cute story, there is sexual content in this book so it may not be suitable to all readers.

Hayleys clock is ticking, she wants a baby but will Spence decide to take up roots and find love with Hayley? What an incredible story set in the beautiful state of Montana. Spence Keller travels home to help out on the ranch while his father is set for surgery and recovery. When his families farm needs water he turns to the neighbor Hayley Parker for some help leasing water from her ranch. Spence and Hayleys story is sweet and romantic.

A wonderful and touching story of a woman shying away from relationships and a man who does not stay put for very long. The romance is in the yearning with feelings neither one saw coming. Hayley and Spence are at war with emotions but in love with them anyway.

Spence comes home to help his family, but still feels he doesn't really have a place and plans on returning to his traveling ways. Hayley is the girl next door that saved him while in high school. She wants a baby, but because of her parents she is scared of relationships. It's interesting to watch them work things out. I look forward to reading the other books in the series.

Fantastic Read

If you like to read about close families, you'll enjoy this book. I feel it will also be insightful to anyone who has experienced problems with dysfunctional family issues. Hayley is a great role model that one can make changes with the desire and willingness to complete the hard work. Of course, love and romance definitely add good vibes!

Conviction and hard work

What an interesting story of a shy girl and a man with no roots suddenly taking to one another. Hayley and Spence were an unlikely couple but in the end they discussed their issues and were able to find their happily ever after.

Cowboy baby daddy

Good story. Like the peppers ranch characters. Reed is depicted as a good Dad. What will Spence be. Seems the books are not finished. Reed should be marked by now and Bagley pregnant. Story line very slow.

Good story

Bit of a different twist. Not having a traditional home life growing up can really change your views on what home life should look like.

Haley has taken over her father's ranch now that he has passed. She has always wanted a baby and is tired of waiting for Mr. Right. She has decided it is time to have a baby. That explains the sperm donor bios she has been looking over. Spence's family ranch needs to lease water from Haley's farm. Her father had helped them in the past. Since Spence knew her when they were kids, his family sends him or to ask for help. As Haley gets to know the man Spence has become she decides to ask him to medically father her child and walk away. That would be a hard no for Spence. If Spence can convince her to actually date him they both just might get their happily ever after.

I received this arc of Her Cowboy Baby Daddy in exchange for my honest review. This is the second book in Jeannie Watt’s Return to Keller Ranch series. Book 2 features the middle sibling in the Keller Family, Spence. He has been traveling as a welder from job to job and visiting home on an occasional basis. As the book opens, Spence has returned in order to help on the ranch after his father recovers from surgery. In the first book we met the oldest brother and learned about the dynamics of the family and the ranch operations. We also learned about the neighbor’s wish to take some of their land and cut off their water supply in order to facilitate a plan he has to build a lodge. It is evident he isn’t above doing dirty deeds to accomplish his goals.

We meet the neighbor on the other side of their ranch, Hayley Parker. She and Spence knew each other in high school before he left for his job and she went to college. Her father has passed away and Hayley has strung together help to run the ranch. Spence stops by and sees her operation and volunteers his help. She knows he is only back to help his family while his dad recovers and it is known that he doesn’t stay in one place long. Spence asks if she will sell them water like her dad had done several years ago. After discussing it with her lawyer, they set up the agreement for the water. She later receives a threat about selling the water to the Kellers.

As the Keller ranch has enough help, Spence joins Hayley’s crew, working on repairing fence and a pipe project. One day Hayley asks Spence if he would be a baby daddy so she could have a baby and then he would walk away. He tells her no because he couldn’t see himself having a child out there and him not be in the child’s life. Both Hayley and Spencer have issues from their childhood that makes a relationship between them difficult. Hayley’s mother left her dad and proceeded to get married and divorced multiple times, chasing happiness. Hayley elected to move back to the ranch and live with her dad when she was 11. Their different lives influenced what Hayley thought was best for her. She also had bad experiences with her stepdads and as a result she was shy and tried to be invisible. After leaving home she worked on being confident and seen. However she believed she was better off alone with her child.

Spencer was the ignored child. His older brother was wild and the twins were younger and took up their parent’s attention. It led him to leave home and take a job where he acted alone and traveled from place to place with no roots. Hayley and Spence spent time analyzing their lives and discussing what their current situations were. Spence realizes he is interested in a relationship with Hayley and has feelings for her. She is denying her feelings causing lots of angst and misunderstandings. As he makes future plans, she is causing confusion.

I really liked this book. The series is terrific. The characters are genuine and likable. Jeannie did a great job in the interactions between the characters and their family and friends. It is fun to see the people from the prior books in this current book and that they play a part in the story. The storyline about the neighbor, Carter Hunt and his shenanigans is interesting and I’m glad it and the suspense continue through the books. It is also enjoyable to see the infamous Carol Bingley from Marietta in this book as well. She provides some comedy. I look forward to reading each Keller sibling’s story. This book is a 5 star read and I highly recommend it.
