A sweet poly omegaverse romance, Nicky and the Night Owls Part Two focuses on the day-to-day life of a poly pack, their individual and group dynamics, and a HEA with babies! Lots of babies. There is virtually no angst, but you do see the pack members battle real-world issues, such as feeling insecure, inadequate, lost, and needy. What I love so much about this duet is how the pack deals with these issues in a mature, realistic manner, using healthy communication and focusing on strengthening each other as a whole. No one is singled out.
This is a true poly relationship with all pack members involved together. They show physical affection, emotional support, and steadfast devotion to each and every member of their pack. While, as a group, they are inclusive, they also spend time focusing on their individual relationships.

The heat is molten hot right out the gate, averaging a scene every chapter or so. With a varied group, and many members having unique tastes, there is no shortage of sexual experiences. One of my favorite sequences involves hot wax and restraints, but Jasper’s heat sequence might take the top billing, with Nicky taking her first knots and everyone falling under the omega fog. The book has single pairings and many different group combinations, including MF, MM, and FF interactions.

Nicky was such a great duet. It is perfect if you are looking for a sweet omegaverse, healthy relationships within the pack, and very mild drama.

Genre: Contemporary Omegaverse
Tropes/Features: Poly relationships, multi-gender (male, female, nonbinary) pack with alphas, betas, omega, pregnancy, male omega pregnancy, abduction, high spice, usual OV goodies (knotting, slick, scent marking, claiming bites, heats, purring), breeding kink, daddy kink, Doms
Narrator: Multiple 1st Person POV
Relationship Type: Polyamorous MMMFFF, fast burn, magma hot spice
Book Type/Ending: Part Two of Duet with HEA
TW/CW: Extensive content notes are included at the beginning of book. Of particular note, pregnancy plays a huge role in this book; there is the abduction of pregnant pack members and preterm labor.

I appreciated the diversity in pregnancy stories and how everyone who was pregnant was referred to.

Dnf@72% This is, once again, far too long. The plot is so contrived. It’s still 75% sex and is just so boring. I skimmed a lot until I decided to DNF because I just didn’t care. You don’t spend any time on the parts that would actually be interesting or give some insight on the characters/relationships. It’s all so forced and perfect. They communicate so perfectly and talk so formally. Where are the mistakes? The accidents? No one is this perfect

Enjoyed it

This was a sweet and steamy conclusion to this duet. For me personally it was a little too much steam over plot, but that's a personal preference obviously. It was still an entertaining book.

5/5 awesome literally zero complaints. I think this might be the best duology I have ever read. It was everything I love and want with none of the shit that I don't, and it made these books feel like they were catered to me specifically.

I love how Nicky and the Night Owls pt 2 picked up right after pt 1's ending! The beginning had me SHOOK and HOOKED. Aside from it, I appreciate all the softness and sweetness between the pack so much 🥺🩷 Nothing gets me more than the support they have for one another.

Can we also talk about the spice?? Whew! The breeding scenes are perfection and so hot 🥵 I seriously adore them all (especially Hana because 👀🥵) and highly recommend this to anyone looking for sweet OV with breeding and high steam. Just make sure to check out the CWs!

I FUCKING LOVED THIS BOOK

This is the second book and it’s just as brilliant and beautiful as the first.

I really wish I was eloquent and informative when I write reviews but alas all you get from me is that I LOVED THIS BOOK.

It made me laugh, cheer and cry.

A ridiculously happy and healthy polyamorous relationship in this book.
I love how they all were able to communicate their feelings wether they were good or negative and talk everything through.

I love the fact that this book has a few of my favourite kinks. Primal Play and Breeding and

ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE BOOKS EVER

I got a free arc from the author in exchange for an honest review.

The story still had all the positives from the review of part one and developed further, of course. The story took off from where it ended, and we are facing a whole new set of issues.

So, it is a troubled road here, and we get lots of emotional moments, but also a lot of happy ones. Of course, inclusive behavior, consent, communication, and healing are still huge topics.

At this point, I want to mention that there are themes not everyone may be comfortable with. Some of it was already announced by the author in the end of part one, such as the pregnancy, but there are some more, so please read the triggers and take them seriously.

I really liked the story, although I'm not a huge fan of time jumps. However, I can understand why they are there, and they were executed cohesively.

Naturally, there are a lot of steamy moments too. In general, I enjoyed those, but sometimes it was too much, depending on my moods often. And in this case, my quota on steamy scenes was reached, and therefore anything above that became exhausting. So, I didn't read all of them as closely.

Otherwise, I didn't really like the last part of the book (excluding the epilogue). I didn't have anything against the pregnancies, birth, and time spent with babies. But it was really drawn out. Sure, it addressed a lot of important emotional issues too, like being afraid to be a parent or who you are without your child anymore, and finding your way back into the relationship. But most of it was about them feeding the babies (again and again), holding them, and sleeping/recovering from the birth with the help of family and friends. All of that is really nice to point out and show, and of course, parents are enamored with their babies and the first days/months are stressful when you have to adjust to that. But it was not that interesting, that it had to be repeated over and over again.

The only good thing about that was that we got to know or meet the parents of the pack members and a good example of rebuilding relationships. But it could totally be shorter.

I was in love with the epilogue, though. I like to read books when toddlers/little children are involved in the story (from the beginning), because the interactions are so cute and make for funny moments, or mentioned in the epilogue, after the main story is solved, and the pregnancy is mentioned.

In the epilogue, it is often used to show what family life is like and what kind of future lies ahead. And of course, there are interactions too. It gives me great closure to the story, and I enjoy imagining their life.

It was definitely a great journey, and I'm glad I didn't miss it.

"I really must have been a saint in a past life to have been gifted with this pack. Whatever past Nicky had done, I was infinitely grateful."

Nicky and the Night Owls: Part Two is the second and final instalment in the Why Choose Omegaverse duology following our beloved Nicky as she finds her place in her new pack after the rather tumultuous end of book 1 that literally left things up in flames at her work. Happiness is so close for this pack but police investigations, political intrigue, and family crawling out of the rafters threaten to take away all that they hold dear...now the question is how far will they go to take a stand and protect the new family they made...and the future family they yearn for.

Admittedly it has been awhile since I read Part 1 but this book was incredibly easy to dive into. Nicky is this fun and affectionate character who just wants to be engulfed in relationships that fulfill her. Each partner (Billie, Tony, Gabe, Hana, and Jasper) provided nuance to the relationships and I love how it emphasizes this - that these relationship are there to support and do not supersede the others. As a result we get these beautiful slices of life moments as the character tag team supporting each other and growing.

Now, the spice in definitely 5 spicy peppers our of 5 spicy peppers not only because this is an omegervse why choose with multiple partners, knots and heats; but also because there is a lot of spice throughout the book. Keeping in mind this is the second book in the series and that you have 6 different POVs happenings so these people have healthy and vibrant sex lives. I appreciated that that there is variety to each character with their spice so I never felt it was repetitive but it does become slightly entangled in the plot..more on that later!

In terms of world and story this book is light on story but the vibes of it are such fun! There is underlying political intrigue with Tony's interest in pursuing being a Mayor; there's Billie's parents deciding they suddenly want back in their life after they were kicked out a child; and the desire for members of the pack to have children now that they feel complete. There are so many good slices of life moments and plenty of spicy time leading up to pregnancies and more that made this book incredibly easy to consume. It's not award winning in writing but the pace and liveliness kept me extremely entertained. I also like the third act 0-60 action to help shake things up!

If you have been looking for something similar in the vein to Lola and the Millionaires, this series will give all. It was exactly what I thought it was going to be an I had such fun!

Nicky is part of a loving pack and recovering from the fire. There's an ongoing investigation about it, as well as the biological parents of a packmate suddenly trying to get involved. With more trouble brewing, the pack must stand together and show everyone else how strong they really are.

I like how Nicky has both mental and physical therapy to recover from the events of the first book, as well as her own self esteem. She's a lot more clever than she thinks she is, and she's well protected and well loved by her entire pack. Lots of omegaverse dynamics at play here, with kinks galore and the entire pack going at it during Jasper's heat. There are a number of complications along the way: the police investigation into the library fire, a mayoral race, and Billie's parents suddenly descending to have a relationship with them while misgendering and gaslighting them. With an expanding family and more people helping the pack, they do rise (heh heh) to the challenges.

I enjoyed the dynamics between all members of the pack. They're supportive and loving, and bring out the best in each other. This also means they're open to exploring new kinks as they're discovered, and band together immediately when there are even more developments in the final third of the book. The pack can't seem to catch a break, with so much drama to deal with. Our happily ever after takes a while to process, because there are six parents and five sets of grandparents. It's a fun and hot read.

Nicky and the Night Owls Part Two picks up right where part one left off. I don’t want to spoil it, but I will say Sierra really blew it out of the park with this one. After how much I loved part one, I was so excited to read this, and it was very much worth the hype. As always, it is chock full of spice that left me sweating, but I especially loved the enthusiastic consent and frequent check ins the pack did with each other. The smut was wonderful, of course, and I think even more spicy than part one. Every member had such good communication and spoke openly about worries and fears, which is so important in a polycule romance.

I’m generally not a fan of time jumps, but they were done well in this, and worked with the story’s timeline. As always, read the content warnings at the from of the book, but I think if you enjoyed the first part of the duet, you will be a fan of this book as well. I definitely recommend.

Nicky and the Night Owls part 2 begins right where part 1 left off. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book since we really got a HFN last book but ooohmygoddd! So good!!

Witnessing these characters fall deeper and deeper in love on every page is everything I hoped for. The respect they show each other, the active and enthusiastic consent is elite! I am so serious when I say Sierra did not miss a thing!

This book has So. much. Spice! And I love it! Every scene was done with an abundance of love and kindness but it still left me hot under the collar!

If your read the first book you HAVE to read this one. If you didn’t read the first one but enjoy books that have respectful lgbtq representation, sweet packs, heats , strong betas and omegas, twists and turns what are you waiting for!? 10/10 recommend

My babies are back and better than ever.

The first book had the pack brought closer together by a douchy external force (please laugh at my joke), this one was all about how the pack works through the little things that pop up for them. And let me tell you, these people attract the drama like no one else. AND I LOVED IT. Those guys are the blueprint for how to handle relationships like an adult.

And they're so happy together, it's making my single heart ache! Just when I think they can't be more in love, BAM! If you're looking for something wholesome and adorable with a LOT of spice look no further.

And the babies! The babies are in such good hands with all of them. One of the few times I've completely loved the decision of book-families to have children.

An absolute must read!

Honestly, there is something about this duet that I just didn’t like. I found myself annoyed and would stop reading every so often to roll my eyes and ask myself, “why are we reading this?!?”

That being said, I really enjoyed the representation, the poly relationship aspect, the discussions and open communication of the characters, amongst a few other things. The things I liked just wasn’t enough to save the books for me.

I don’t know. Just didn’t like these. And I really couldn’t completely say why without crapping on what I did like. So, I’m marking them as read but I’m not rating them and I won’t be reading anymore of the author at this time or ever re-reading this duet. I’m just eh.

A wonderful, spicy conclusion to this duet!

Get ready for high emotions and DRAMA in book two of Nicky’s story! And don’t forget the heat! With scenes that will leave you reading one handed, pairings we hadn’t gotten to experience in book one, and all of the delicious kn🪢tting a romance reader could hope for!

The pack gets even closer after the events at the end of book one. While we have new/continuing issues to deal with, watching them grow and experience new things together was so sweet and soft! It paired perfectly with the spicy scenes to create an enjoyable, captivating read!

I look forward to getting to read more stories set in this world!

With all of the pack bonding and sexy time goodness you’ve learned to expect from Nicky Part 1 😍😍

This one is even BETTER. You get to see the pack grow closer, and more insights into how some of the other pack members’ relationships work. It’s fantastic.

And as always, the author inclusivity and respect towards the characters and each other is breathtaking. ❤️

The events in this book are INTENSE EVERY DIRECTION OF EMOTION. And it’s FANTASTIC.

I won’t spoil but I’ll just say.. Gabe’s attitude in this one is… DE-LICIOUS. OOF.

If you read Nicky Part 1, you KNOW how amazing her writing is. Do yourself a big favor and DIVE into this bad boy 😍

As much as I loved the first one, I almost DNF'd this one. I'm glad I didn't, because I really appreciated the diverse pregnancy experiences for three of the pack members. But this was way, way too long, and meandered through too many plot lines that didn't actually generate enough plot or angst to hang the sex and relationship development on. I think my biggest issue was that the pack was already totally settled with each other, with great communication and literally no internal issues through the whole book. It's a great example, but it actually makes a pretty boring book. I could handle that for the 500 pages of the first book, but the 500 pagesof this one draaaaaaaaaaaagged for me.

Nicky and the Night Owls Part Two by Sierra Cassidy is the conclusion to this duet. This picks up right where book one left off. Everything was great with Nicky and her pack at the end of book one, and it just keeps getting better with this second part. We get to see how everyone fits in with each other now that Nicky is part of the pack. There is some family drama - not with Nicky and her pack. Lots of sweet, hot moments. I love seeing the pack grow and add to their family. So sweet and loving. Loved it.

Once again, Sierra has put her heart and soul into a book and it shows. The spice is doubly amped up in this second installment of Nicky and the Night Owls…. There’s corruption, long lost relatives, gaslighting, mental health awareness, breeding kinks, polyamorous unity, and so much spice you just might go into your own heat cycle!!! Lmao There’s a lot going on in book 2 and I would encourage others to check the trigger warnings before beginning and enjoy the ride!! Thank you so much for the opportunity to arc read both books ♥️

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Sierra and this book. I loved every second beta reading and reading the ARC that was provided in exchange for an honest review. Tbh I definitely skipped sleep to read the beta and the arc!

Sierra has once again knocked it out of the park. this series had enough spice, fluff, drama, and content to keep me entranced the whole time.

I recommend that everyone reads this series and they get ready to find out more about Nicky's family in her upcoming books.

Pretty similar feelings to this as the previous entry, though some of my issues are exacerbated here. I appreciated that more of the pack members had their own plotlines in this one versus focusing only on Nicky. It's still way too long, padded mostly by drawn out sex scenes. The "villains" in this one were even more cartoonish and flat than the guy from the first book, and again the climax was far too intense for what is advertised as a "cozy" romance, in my opinion. Despite the inconsistent tone, it was still pretty cute overall.

This book was pure perfection for me. Everything that I wanted out of it, I got. It's sweet, it's romantic, so cute it hurts, and utterly sexy.
The ending is also perfect! It ties everything up so well. I could not have been happier with this book.

With the first book ending on a cliffhanger, I was curious where this would pick up. Great news—it picks up right where we left off. This book covers a long period of time and a lot of events. Once again, I enjoyed the author’s take on omegaverse. While there were many external factors to these characters’ story, this is more character driven than anything else. I thoroughly enjoyed both books and these characters. Loved it!

so much smut

I felt like every time the plot was gonna go somewhere and that we’d finally get more details on the mayor stuff, and the issues with Billie’s parents, the story was interrupted with s3x scenes. While I normally don’t mind, I found myself bored and skipping multiple chapters. It felt 70 percent of this book was just s3x, and that at times the plot was brushed aside or rushed to get to another s3x scene.

I felt like this book was just a really long epilogue.
There wasn’t really a plot throughout the whole story and when there was something “big” that happend it was immediately overshadowed by a “sexy” scene or cuddles.

If you want to read something light, sweet and 🌶️ (in every chapter) this book is definitely for you. But for my taste everything summed up above was a bit overdone and resulted in me getting bored really fast.

Loved this book, just not quite as much as the first one. I think that’s because in this one the relationships were all already established, and, except for towards the end, Nicky wasn’t as much the main character in this one and I really liked her as the main character. I especially loved the sex scenes the first time after having the kids because it was just so sweet and so vulnerable.
