This second installment of the Apocalyptic Pirate series was a nice build on the first book. We see the trio continue to build on their skills and start to develop a system to take on the challenges that the Dragonpocalypis throws at them. We are introduced to a new member, Letty, but only get glimpses of what she might bring to the story. The crew is able to meet new situations, from crazy villagers to floating traders and we begin to see how a new world order might start to develop. We are also introduced to the concept of how the government might restrict information and start to mold the situation to their own advantage, even if this is not in the best interest of the general population. We continue to see Drew and the crew’s relations grow and their connection to family and one another change with time. The crew is able to sail down the American coast and start to make a break for the Panama Canal and a chance to turn to the Pacific and a course to Hawaii. This book continues to show new situations for the Crew and how their inherent decency can be a boon and not necessarily a hindrance. We have start to see that they will manage each new situation and come out the other side unphased. We do not need to wonder if they will survive but rather how they will manage to get out of the chaos around them. We are also able to see how the relationships between Drew, Ally, and Shannon continue to develop and will see how the addition of Letty may impact it as well. It is a nice sequel to the Apocalyptic Pirate series and continues to keep my interest. I look forward to see what happens as the leave the confines of the American coast and what the involvement of the US government in this disasters entails.
First two books are pretty interesting, I like that the main character has an actual direction he going in the beginning of the series. The theory of the story is a new concept where the mainland became survival of the fittest. The struggles of living on the ocean an only going on land for supplies. This being a harem fantasy I don’t except real facts to come into play a whole lot. Although I am interested in finishing the series, most to figure out the question I have about the dragons and the government? The only thing I hope for is as the series progresses there is more character development with the changes of their new world. So far the story is a fun adventure.
Playing pirates on the open ocean as the world goes up in flames from the Dragon Apocalypse... Never thought I'd utter those words, but Eric Vall has a truly intriguing, action packed suspense thriller with Apocalypse Pirates.
And with things getting more dire and the enemies getting more cunning, being the Good Pirates just became a full time job for Drew and his crew.
Wonderful story, interesting turn of events, going to be fun to see where this goes. Love the MC, his harem, the slow burn, the action. Again a novel concept and fun read. And funny how a line in this book covers a nickname given to me by a friend. I am Captain Save-a-hoe...
Drew, Shannon, Ally and Letty are having the adventure of a lifetime. A most dangerous adventure at best. Dealing with Dragons, the military and some very bad people. So far, they have done good and survived. The next book will undoubtedly be super good. Waiting anxiously for the next book.
The dialogue between the main characters is very serious while also being funny. Although the trials they are facing are huge; their resolve doesn't waiver and the problems don't seem insurmountable as they work as a team. The plot thickens on what the government is up to and what their true agenda is.
Plenty of action and lots of twists and turns. Characters are really well fleshed (pun?) out. Each has their own strengths and limitations. Good story, but the last scene was just a tad too unbelievable for me. Free diving to 100 feet is more of a professional thing, even with adrenaline. But I’ll go for the next book.
This started out as an awesome series and the second installment only made it better. The way the story plays out actually feels kind of like a Jack Sparrow/Lord of the Rings love baby. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Good read. Learned more about the dragons and had some good action scenes. Liked the new women. Had some run ins with some fun characters. Just wondering what the government and coast guard are doing. Looking forward to the next book.
The saga is continuing and our group is finding corruption in the military and probably the government. There are secret plans unfolding behind the scenes. Good reads and anxious for next book. An
A really great adventure story!!! Privateers during a dragon invasion, modern firearms and beautiful women!!!! This story has it all humor, adventure and adult fantasy activities!!!
I really like the series so far. Fun, just a fun read. There is a bit of a gaping plot hole, somehow the characters don’t seem to realize that South America is in the way of their journey to Hawaii?
Thus book is well written, easily understandable, and very engaging. It could use more spicy scenes but is still more then enough to sink your teeth into for the evenings.
Dragons, the apocalypse, and piracy what more could you ask for? If you were to ask for more believe me this story delivers it!I eagerly await the next one!
