A legendary bard and poet known as the greatest musician in Greek Mythology. Orpheus is a classic figure, known for his artistic talents and famous stories. But certain myths gloss over the fact that Orpheus had male lovers. Rumors across the ages tell of Orpheus’ affairs with gods and men.
This is the story of a lonely bard, one who struggles with his identity, and has a strong desire to explore the world to discover who he truly is. To find himself. To find Orpheus.

I would not normally be attracted to a book ofmythology but I did find this book captured my attention and kept me reading.
It is complicated by a love interest that grows from first an interest in Apollo, followed by an interest in the winged one he cried over and finally by a country dancer. To say how it ended would be to give away too much but it was interesting and not a way I would have exxpected.
Apollo keeps apearing and Orpheus is brutally honest throughout. His character and his immediate interest in the men is part of his character that is well-developed. While the plot is full of meanderings, it flows nicely. I was impressed.
I knew nothing about this Orpheus. But I'm always intrigued by these types of stories.
I didn't love this book. I'll be honest. However I liked it enough to want to keep reading and find out more.
Orpheus is a spoilt brat and dare I say a ho. He just seemed to fall in love easily and move on from the guys he lusted over easily. Until he fell so in love with Eurydalos, he even followed him into the under world. And that makes for a cute love story.
I was given a copy of this book from book sirens for an honest review
What a good retelling of the story of Orpheus. I have always enjoyed Greek mythology and I think what I liked about this version of the story is that it centered the original story and added elements to the story that made it new in places without taking anything away from it. I am looking forward to reading the earlier stories from this series now and those that come after this one. And in these stories there are always life lessons shared via the entertaining journeys of their characters. I received an ARC from GRR and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another great entry in the Mythologay series, I really enjoy how well the myths worked in this story. I enjoyed the way this was written and I love the way the characters were written. I always enjoy what B. J. Irons writes and enjoy the romance going on in this book. I look forward to more from the Mythologay series.

I am really enjoying this series giving a spin on mythology and here we get to explore through the story of Orpheus, what life experiences went into making the storyteller, poet and musician of lore. Thank goodness these retellings manage to give our main characters a happy ending. Looking forward to more in this series.
This is the story of Orpheus, or rather a fantastic retelling of the famous myth of Orpheus. It is the 3rd book in The Mythologay series. Please read the trigger warnings. I loved how the author kept to the original but put his own spin on it as well, which made for a fun and interesting read. Definitely recommended.
I received this book as an Arc and I am happily reviewing it voluntarily
