Adaline Winters

Adaline Winters writes heroines who bite back and the alpha males who fall to their knees because of it. Known for weaving sizzling tension with deadly twists, she delights in leading readers through stories full of betrayal, desire, and the kind of cliffhangers that leave you cursing her name—and still begging for more. If there’s one promise she makes, it’s this: her heroines will never go quietly, and her heroes will never come out unscathed.

She lives in England’s Lake District, where the scenery is dramatic, the weather is stubbornly grey, and the dog in her house is somehow even more chaotic than her characters. Her husband and daughter are used to conversations being interrupted by sudden mutterings about plot twists or declarations like, “What if I just kill him instead?”

When she’s not plotting new ways to make her readers scream (and swoon), Adaline is probably crocheting blankets that never turn out quite square, or losing precious writing time to her daily Wordle obsession. She claims it’s brain training for crafting fiendish plot twists—but in truth, she just likes to win.

Romance novels are her first love, especially those where strong, sharp-tongued heroines drive alpha males to the brink of madness. That’s the energy she channels into every book she writes: sharp, sexy, a little ruthless, and completely addictive.
If you like your stories dangerous, your tension sizzling, and your heroes utterly undone by the women who refuse to bow… welcome to her worlds.

"For everyone who dreams of a knight, but needs a dragon."

In a land far, far away, but not too far away - chaos unfolds whenever Daphne Stone is near. And in the never-ending fairytale replay, when her dearest sister, Gwyneth's foot mysteriously fits Prince Charming's shoe this go around, it brings forth a new future for Daphne and her sister.

This book started off a bit everywhere, but soon, once you got the idea of where the author was headed, I couldn't stop turning the pages and laughing at the innuendos. When we are introduced to the Stirling brothers...my oh my, Nash, Malachi, Theo and Hart bring the heat and I am so excited for this RH! (Yay Adaline!!!!)

This world is filled with all the fairytales you can imagine. Only these characters live in that world and with every completion of each story, it starts brand new all over again while the people among them, live on with their lives. But behind every HEA, lives a darkness, we don't always know about. Daphne is made aware of this and is determined to not only save her sister from a loveless, manipulated future but to save all of the other beings put into this situation.

"Watch out, Idols, the Stone sisters are coming for you."

With chaos and calamities with each step Daphne takes, and four fearsome Knights at her back - Will she save her sister from a fate worse than death? Will she be eaten by the big bad dragon all of the damsels seem to be on strike over? Will Prince Charming or King Arther let her live another day when they realize she is still alive? Is everything in the water after her?

Goodness! I loved this book so much! The author did such an amazing job at creating this world of fairytales and weaving them altogether. Not only that, but offering us a side to the HEA that definitely makes us second guess our true happiness with these stories. lol. I caught myself laughing out loud too much and I just absolutely loved the character of Daphne! The guys were all perfect and I will definitely be looking forward to more of them in book two.

"If I am the night, then she is the sun. Together, we can conquer the realm."

"She is an anomaly, born of myth and legend. The dragon tamer is a fairy tale told to damsels to give them hope. No one can tame a dragon, not a knight, nor a pretty damsel."

*Overall 5/5
*Heat? 3/5
*Med/Slow Burn
*First person POV (Daphne only)
*MFMMM Trope (No MM)
*Ends on cliffhanger!

Well...this was such a fun read.
I was giggling and laughing through the whole book.
Our heroine, Daphne is no damsel in distress but somehow she always finds herself in dangerous and tricky situations.
Her clumsiness created the funniest and weirdest accidents. What could go wrong if you ask her to just hand you a knife? Well...many things apparently.
Oh, and the best part? The 4 knights pinning for Daphne. 🥵
"Will you be ours?" 🧎‍♀️
The Stirling brothers were truly amazing. 😏
This was my first book with the why choose trope and oh my gosh...it was so much fun.
And the ending...I need the next book right now!

This was a very fun read! There were many parts in this story that had me laughing. The humor was right up my alley!
Our main character, Daphne, is so nonchalantly adorable! I wanted to just put her in my pocket. Her mind is a very entertaining place to be! I think that was what I most enjoyed about this book. She loves so fiercely that nothing else matters as long as the people she cares about are safe. She has no special skills/powers but she puts her all into everything she does. Most importantly she knows who she is and won’t change for anyone. I liked her sister as well! She’s also very confident in herself and doesn’t need anyone to take care of her. They have each other and I think their relationship is amazing. Now for our male leads! Each of them have their own unique personalities. They come off as “fuck boys” but honestly they are all super cute and I can’t wait to see how their relationships grow in the next one!
This world is built off the fact that fairytales are real. The same stories get retold with different people taking over the roles. These narratives have to continue to play out as they always do in order to appease the higher ups known as the “idols”. Now not much has been explained about the Idols. We just know you don’t want to piss them off. Of course that’s exactly what Daphne plans to do! I also love the fact that this story gives us a look of the darker side of these fairytales. Each one has a more “wicked” ending than what is usually expected.
Overall, this story was well written and definitely kept me entertained. There were a few spots in the beginning where I thought the pacing was a little off but the middle and ending definitely made up for it! I think I’m most excited to see what other fairytales and mythical beings make their way into this series.

5 ⭐️ Steam: 2/5. Strong Language: 1.5/5. Characters: 5/5. Plot: 5/5.

Content Warning: V!0lence, A$$ault

Wicked is the first book in Adaline Winters’ Legends of the Hallows series. It ends on a significant cliffhanger.

Daphne is a maiden-fair living with her sister of the heart on the outskirts of The Hallows. They serve the bright, shiny people of that realm. She is what we politely call a disaster waiting to happen. She is cursed to cause unintended trouble and misfortune wherever she goes.

Unfortunately, Prince Charming (insert irony here) claims Daphne’s sister as his Cinderella. It turns out that all fairytales have a dark side. Magic comes with a price. To save her sister from meeting a blight fate, Daphne teams up with four knights who are equally respected and feared in the kingdom.

Nash, Theo, Malachi, and Hart have been raised to fulfill a predestined quest. One will reign after their father, the king, passes on the crown. The brothers share an incredibly close bond and an attraction for Daphne.

This story was a pure delight. Daphne’s antics and optimistic attitude will have you grinning the whole way through. It was a total joy to be privy to her inner (and sometimes outer) monologues. The characters in this novel are absolutely fantastic. The world building is well thought out and turns the stories we all grew up with into fascinatingly twisted tales we can sink our teeth into. I cannot wait until book two.

"Turns out I’m not a fluffy fairy tale girl lusting after soft kisses and feather beds. Nope, I’m a “bite me in the hidden alcove of a castle” maiden. I like to think of this as growth."

This is a seriously funny and addictive read. Adaline never disappoints with her quirky, feminist, feisty heroines and Daphne is all that and more.

This book weaves a complex and detailed world of fairytales and the darkness surrounding the unhappy endings. Daphne and her sister are caught up in a twisted version of Cinderella which takes them from their humble home to the life of riches and entitlement of The Hallows. Daphne is accident prone, clumsy, determined and noones fair maiden or damsel in distress. Her mouth runs away with her often and her ramblings are brilliantly insightful and funny.

In her efforts to save her sister, Daphne encounters the 4 Stirling brothers. Each brother is unique in their attraction to Daphne and in how they form a connection with her. Some fall quicker and easier for her charms while others (Hart!) resist the inevitable pull between them. These four brothers are her perfect why choose scenario and I have no doubt it will take all 4 to tame our wild heroine.

Adaline proves time and time again that she can create enthralling worlds and the Hallows is going to be my new obsession with its feisty heroine determined to save and rewrite the unwanted and forgotten fairytales. And who doesn't love a book with a slightly broken magic mirror with his inability to get names right but flatters all the same?

Fair warning, this is a slow burning and delicious tease. There are some heated moments but this is the foreplay to what will be an epic love story between Daphne and her men. Oh and it ends on a cliffhanger.....

Adaline absolutely KILLED this book! And I mean, I was hooked from start to finish, didn't want to put it down and definitely didn't want this story to end. It was steamy, hot, and full of chemistry between Daphne and her four perfect knights!

The premise of the book was a perfect fairytale retelling with a dark and steamy twist that allows the reader to really fall into the world, into the story, and with the characters.

I devoured this book so quickly, not wanting to put it down because hot damn was this not one of the spiciest books I've ever read. Honestly a amazing book & one that I can't stop thinking about! Definitely going to be a book I read more than once!

Thank you Adaline for an ARC of Wicked!

Spice - 🔥/5 (Slow burn)

Review - This is my very first book by Adaline Winters and I was super grateful to be able to receive an ARC for this fantastic book.

I really enjoyed the dark and twisty side of the multiple fairy tales and the not so pleasant side of the happily ever afters. It also gave a bit of Shrek vibes as well. I couldn't stop turning the pages once I started and oh lord the way I was cackling all the way through this book. "Prince poopfloof" 😂

In this book Daphne and her sister are stuck in the twisted version of Cinderella when Prince Charming comes to their town and the glass slipper just so happens to fit perfectly on her sister. They are both swept away from everything they know and are brought to the castle. But little does everyone know Daphne is a bit odd and chaos follows her wherever she goes. Upon arrival Daphne meets the Stirling brothers who just happen to be Knights. The store that unfolds between them will leave you panting for more. The brothers are just absolutely addicting. Will Daphne be able to save her sister from the prince before all hell breaks loose?

This book will leave you on a cliffhanger you don't see coming. It is also a delicious slow burn. <3

Daphne is such a character you can’t help but love, a complete and utter clutz, with a inner monologue that is verbalised continuously- you can’t help but laugh at loud at her comments.
Gwyneth her sister from another mister (aka best friend and only family they both have in the world) is such a protector of Daphne and wow does she ever need it. The calamities and mischief she finds herself in is mesmerising and at times hilarious.
Although, I feel for Gwyneth, no one wants unwanted advances.
The Knights which are also brothers, Hart, Nash, Malachi and Theo - These brothers are hot AF, the grumpiness and growling adds to the attraction.
Loved the relationship journey, the push/pull and those steamy scenes were great.
Just love Eugene and Hamish - perfect supporting characters.
Man in mirror, dragons, kings, Prince Charming, Cinderella and so many other fairy tales characters / storylines at play - perfection.
There’s the darkness behind each fairytale that’s never mentioned with I found utterly fascinating - to be honest also a little bit gob smacked.
This book is written with such detail and emotion, the storyline takes you on a magical adventure, the suspense and unknown dangers had me on the edge of my chair - I was completely blown away. I couldn’t put this book down until the very last cliffhanger word, definitely can’t wait to read the next book.
Overall reading this book was an absolutely fantastic experience - thank you.

Wicked is the first book in the Legends of the Hallows series.

This was absolutely incredible! I mean, normally, I don't go for the whole Royalty, prince/princess, but this...this was something quite special. It was so imaginative, unique, and just fun all around. The world building, the fact that there's several classic fairy tales woven together, and good lord those HOOOOOT knights. I'm definitely down for more!!!

This honestly was a good book. It honestly, for me personally, started off slow and I had a hard time getting into the book but that ending made up for it- that cliffhanger! The ending definitely was a “what just happened moment” that makes you want to read the next book to see what happens!

Throughout the book there were moments of me smiling and laughing at the trouble that “calamity Daphne” causes! She is definitely no damsel. I love how she takes life by the horns and doesn’t give a damn! Honestly, that word vomit from her is one of my favourite parts!

“We are masters of our own destiny, and Daphne Stone might not be part of a fairy tale, but she will make an impact in this realm.”

I was definitely intrigued by the synopsis of this one. I was a little unsure at first but after the first couple chapters I was hooked!

I enjoyed Daphne and her clumsiness. The world building was well done, its a dark and twisted side of multiple fairytales!

And of course the best part, the Stirling brothers🥵. That slow burn is everything and I can’t wait for book two!

ARC Book Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sit back and buckle up for the newest fantasy adventure by Adaline Winters - Wicked.

“That’s right Daphne, WE will treat you like a Queen”
This is what we ‘why choose’ romance readers love ❤️

Welcome to the land of Far Far Away & The Hallows.

Our main character is a young girl called Daphne (with a mirror who never gets her name right) along with her sister Gwyneth, who has been chosen as the next Cinderella. After moving to land of the Hallows, Daphne becomes the Stirling brothers new obsession. The Four Knights of King Arthur.

This is the first book in a fab new series & I can not wait for the story to continue.

Twists, turns, secrets, castles & knights - what’s not to love - add in a little spice 🌶️ and you’re off!

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This is Adaline Winters first RH novel and I absolutely loved it. It is slow burn with an extremely clutzy heroine (Daphne) who has an inner and sometimes outer monologue that needs a filter lol. She has an amazing die hard bestie in Gwyneth and they're off on an adventure in a Fairy tale land.

A totally twisted fairy tale land but it makes total sense in a non sensical way! The whole book is a wild ride, in the best totally bonkers way. The love for it sneaks up on you as you keep reading.

The guys Nash, Theo, Malachi and Hart (twins) are four brothers who are mostly taken with Daphne from the start.

Honestly I wasn't sure where this wild ride was going to go but those last few pages, I knew and I was like Noooooooo don't!! What a cliffie!

“This is your warning. Whatever they do to you, I will do threefold. If they kiss your lips, I will kiss, suck, and bite them. If they touch you, I will ensure my handprints color your flesh for the rest of the annus.”

I have not laughed this hard reading a romance novel in some time! It reminded me of The Curse of the Gods series blended with the irreverence of a Tom Holt novel. I absolutely loved the read and cannot wait for more of Daphne and her knights!

Daphne is a bit of a self-rescuing princess (without being a princess) mixed with the grace of a walking disaster. She has one aim, to protect her sister’s floof from the clutches of the evil prince Charming in training. Why should their destiny be shaped by a skirt-chasing prince who has unwillingly pulled the pair into his story? At the same time, Daphne catches the attention of four knightly brothers stuck in their own story. Hilarity ensues.

I am quite enamored with the knights. Not only are they unfairly attractive brothers, but there is a set of twins in there… Daphne finds herself drawn to them. They, in turn, are very taken with her, even the grumpy one who constantly tries to push her away.

The greatest characters in the tale are the creatures Daphne picks up along the way. She has a broken magic mirror that is 100% loyal in his resolve that she is the fairest in the land, even if he cannot always get her name right, a pair of capons that must not be eaten, and a genie she unloosed from his bottle but cannot make wishes from for “reasons”. Nothing in the fairy tale land comes free, not even wishes.

It’s a slow-medium burn, steamy romance. This first book had Daphne and the knights testing the waters of their relationship, but I expect future books to have increasing levels of spice as they become more comfortable together.

I cannot wait for the next book!

Bottom line - highly recommended, especially if you need some laughs.

Genre: Fantasy RomCom
Tropes/Features: Very loose retellings of multiple myths and fairytales, klutzy FMC, four brother knights, twins, a dragon, a broken magic mirror, a genie, a sister who must be saved from her own fairytale, evil Prince Charming

Relationship Type: Why choose MFMMM, slow-medium burn, steamy with increasing spice as the series continues
Book Type/Ending: Book one in series. Cliffhanger ending

Tropes: Why Choose (MFMMM - No MM), Fantasy, Rom-Com Vibez, Fairytale Retelling, Slow Burn

Thank you to the author for providing me with an E-ARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

This book follows Daphne (with a mirror who can never get her name correct), and her sister, Gwyneth, who has been chosen as the next Cinderella. When the two sisters arrive in the land of the Hallows, Daphne doesn't expect to have chaos following her wherever she goes. Upon arrival, Daphne meets the (4) Stirling brothers who happen to be the Four Knights.

If you are looking for a dark and twisted side of multiple fairytales (I was getting Grimms Fairytale vibez), then this book is for you! This was my first Adaline Winters book and her writing style in this book was VERY unique, but I loved it! I found myself laughing through this whole book. Daphne and the Four Knights were all perfect, and I can't wait to read more in book 2. This book does end in a cliffhanger!

Wicked gives us a world where every fairy tale exists. The different fairytale narratives play out through the Hallows, not everyone is involved but the land is a chaotic stream of twisted fairytales and I loved it! Everyone knows of the different tales but they play out in the richer Hallows where the main players live - Daphne, our MC, is from Far, Far Away (yes that is the name, not to be confused with So Far Away, the land of monsters even further out) which is where the broken fairytales and normal people live. But whilst these narratives are known their darker consequences are hidden from the public.

From a broken magic mirror man to Jack foisting his stolen beans on Daphne we have a hilarious world full of familiar but entirely new characters. None of the fairytales were just replications of what we’ve seen before, everything was done with its own twist and a throwing it all together in this world made this such a fun read. I would love to explain more about how fun the amalgamation of all these tales were but I think it’s better enjoyed without any expectations!

Daphne is clueless, clumsy and causes utter chaos wherever she goes completely by accident. Clumsy is an understatement, every day she seems to have a near miss with death and honestly it was just so entertaining and ridiculous in the best way. Everyone around her was astounded by how much trouble she tripped into but it made the story very fun. She has a lot of random thoughts and word vomit but I couldn’t help but laugh along with her and enjoy watching her stumble through it all. She’s also compassion and never lets her troubles get her down, happily making the most of each moment.

Her bond with her sister was great and you could really feel the depth of their love for one another. Gwenyth was the sensible smart one who helped guide Daphne through life but ultimately they save each other and their relationship was really beautiful.

The story is kickstarted by cruel Prince Charming (or one of the many Charmings vying for the position) decided he wanted Gwenyth as his Cinderella for the night. Unfortunately their attempts to stop his advances only make him more determined. Things escalate.

All the while four Knights (who’s narrative it is to slay the dragon and save the damsel to become the next King Arthur and his round table) - the Stirling brothers - find themselves captivated with Daphne and the light she brings to their otherwise monotonous lives. I liked all the brothers a lot, they all brought something different and it had good steamy scenes whilst not jumping in too fast (only two main steamy scenes as the romance builds) - this is a why choose so all four of them are romantic interests. It was a bit too ‘instalove’ for me but I was too busy enjoying the craziness of the world and Daphnes life to really care. I was just along for the ride and thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
It was a very fun quick read that drew me into its chaotic adventures.
The one thing I didn’t love was a few words were changed in a way that distracted me from the story. For example minute became tempo (eg I’ll be there in a few tempos) but aside from the the writing was fine. Certainly a world I won’t forget and I look forward to the sequel.

If you’re looking for something fun to make you laugh or a quick read that doesn’t take itself seriously then I’d recommend! I’m always here for funny chaotic books and this hit the spot.

Thank you to the author for an ARC copy. All thoughts are my own.

I received an ARC for my honest opinion.

This was not what I expected. I was laughing out loud literally it was funny and a great read.

It is a bizarre fairy tale land, but it makes complete and utter sense! In the best possible way, the entire book is a wild ride. As you read on, the love for it sneaks up on you.

Adaline Winters first RH book and I totally adored it that I ate it up. This is a slow burn with teasing spice added into it. The MFC, Daphne, is extremely clumsy who attracts chaos. Her inner and outer dialogues that need to be filtered, but they make you laugh that’s for sure. Daphne attracts the attention of four knights who are brothers Hart, Nash, Malachi and Theo - who are hot AF, the grumpiness and growling adds to the attraction. The push and pull between them all adds to the tension, teasing and spice.

There are manny other fairy tale characters that make the story line grow and the world building OMG I loved it. But don’t expect it to be all bright and light these fairy tales have a darkness behind them that no one is prepared for. There is not always a happy ever after for all, there are consequences, twists and turns.

The Ending is a cliff hanger I was not expecting at all. I should have been prepared knowing how much chaos Daphne attracts and gets herself into but I wasn’t ok I was not prepared!!!!

OTT but entertaining

I was looking for fluff that could pique my interest and still have substance. This was a little too OTT in places, sometimes it was charming, sometimes a little annoying. There wasn't a good balance between funny and everything else going on. There was a lot of serious issues going on in the background that affect the entire kingdom but seem to be ignored so as not to anger the Idols. I can't tell if they're the true fae, gods, or the upper upper class because there isn't a lot of world building. It's a mashup of Shrek, Grimm fairytales with a twist, and a lot of contradictory ideas. There's modern slang that wouldn't make sense as it's based on events, inventions, or shows that don't exist here. She calls her body part a floof... and that word is used almost every page. She's either thinking with it, thinking about it, or using it as curse word. It's a weird mix-up of humor, dark fairy tales, a classe system that employs a bit of human trafficking, and some really dark topics that seem to be glossed over. The concept was interesting, but the fleshing out wove drunkenly between a bloopers reel and a fairytale episode of SVU.

I'm really thankful for the author for allowing me to read this book in exchange for a review!
This book was nothing like I expected, but it was a wild ride!
If you like the world of Shrek, you'll enjoy this one (all our favorite characters live in Far, Far, Away).
It's a fairytale with a twist.
It took me some time to get into the book, the language used in this world took a little getting used to.

The plot was very intriguing, and Daphne always kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what her "curse" would bring her next. I liked that our FMC wasn't the typical heroine, she was a bit clumsy, not well educated, a bit ADHD 9, but she's brave and will do anything for the ones she loves.
This book is set up for a series, so the spice was just beginning. According to the author's notes, it will grow as the series progresses! I enjoyed getting to know the men. I think I like Nash and Hart best right now.
The author was kind enough to leave us on a huge cliffhanger! & 6 I'm curious to see how Daphne's story unfolds!

WOW

This is truly one of the best fantasy books I've read. It had the perfect mix of action, comedy and romance. From page one the author created such a beautiful world based on all the Fairytales. I couldn't stop reading, this book and the characters suck you into the story and keeps you very entertained.

Daphne is probably one of the funniest characters I've read about. Her actions and especially her thoughts made her feel so real to me. It was so easy to like and root for her the entire book. One of the things we learn about her is that she's very clumsy. There's nothing she can do without something going wrong. That still didn't stop her from living her life as best as she could. The thing I admire the most about her is how brave she was. When it comes to saving her sister she'll do ANYTHING for her.

The book ends with on a cliffhanger 🥲. I hope for next book we get the guys pov. I NEED book 2. Daphne and her mens journey is not over yet and I'm in for the entire ride. I don't think I would ever get tired of this book!

Adaline, babe, this book is crazy as hell and I’m so fucking here for it.

I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much reading a book, until I read this. Daphne is hilarious, she has no filter and speaks whatever comes into her head (which is a lot of weird stuff very, very often) and she has this hilarious habit of getting herself into unfortunate scenarios and finding the most crazy way to get out of them (fully unintentionally which makes it so much more amusing.)

This book was quite literally unpredictable. If you look up ‘unpredictable’ in the dictionary there would be a picture of Wicked and Daphne next to it. There was not a moment during my reading where I could predict what was about to happen because Daphne is so all over the place, I feel like she’s definitely one of those characters that cannot be controlled, Adaline must have had a hell of a fun time writing her. I can fully imagine Adaline trying to tell her to do something normal and Daphne saying hell no and turning it into a calamity of epic proportions (and be hilarious as hell while doing it).

I loved the twist where all of the fairytales had a dark and sinister aspect to them, and it also shows how easy it is for people in charge to hide the truth from the world using promises of potential ‘happily ever after’. It’s easy to ignore consequences if they don’t have the possibility of happening to you.

I loved the slow burn RH aspect of this novel. Theo, Hart, Nash and Malakai are all such different characters, but they work so well as a cohesive group. I loved seeing the differences in their personalities and how they all approached Daphne with different perspectives.

If you’re anything like me and you love a little bit of chaos in your life, Wicked is most certainly the book for you.

I do believe this has become my favorite book!! I have fallen in love with Daphne and The Stirling Brothers. 🥰 Screw ONE book boyfriend I need Theo, Malachi, Nash AND Hart!! 🥵 This uproarious romantic comedy had me LOL'ing 😂😂😂😂 the entire time. I did not want this book to end. It is the 1st in the The Legend of the Hallows Series. Think fairy tales but with an unexpected twist. I also enjoy that it encompasses many of the different Fairy Tales Folk. The cliffhanger!! 🤯🤯🤯

Daphne is a hilarious, clumsy, and seemingly cursed maiden who lives with her sister Gwyneth in the lands of Far Far Away. By chance, they end up in the Hallows (where the shiny and blessed fairy folk live) and their worlds will never be the same. Chance meetings, twisted destinies, evil princes, and some handsome knights. What could go wrong?

You need to go read this book right now in paperback or June 13th on Kindle. I have no words to express the gratitude I have to Adaline for allowing me to ARC read this book.

Dec 7th can't come fast enough. 🐲🧞‍♂️🪞👑🤩🤩

I really loved Adaline's unique take on a fairytale retelling. I enjoyed seeing all the different fairytale characters mixed up in one big world and turning the story on its head.

Daphne is such a big personality and I found her clumsiness and big love of sausages absolutely hilarious.

Daphne and her sister Gwyneth are brought to the The Hallows by Prince (not so) Charming after her sister is chosen to be his Cinderella.
When she enters The Hallows she meets the Stirling brothers Theo, Malachi, Nash and Hart. She is instantly drawn to them, but she's warned to stay away from them as they are considered dangerous.

Both of them start to discover the darker parts of the traditional fairytale and as the book progresses more twists are revealed.

This story is really addictive and was a fun read. The spice and the slow burn was really well done and that cliffhanger has left me needing book two now!

“Daphne isn’t a princess,” Hart mutters, eyeballing me. “She’s our queen.”

🍎 Why Choose (4 MMC + 1 FMC)
🍎 Fantasy + Romance
🍎 Fairytale Retelling
🍎 Twisted Destiny
🍎 Spice 🌶🌶 (but builds up each book)
🍎 Slow burn
🍅 One horse
🍎 FMC POV (1st person)
🍎 Cliffhanger ending
🍎 Unfinished Series
FMC Nicknames: little mouse, little calamity

This book was not what I expected, but in a mostly good way. It's such an interesting twist on fairytales! I liked the dark side of them being revealed throughout.

Daphne was a downright clumsy mess filled chaos. It took me a hot minute to get into the story with Daphne and writing style, but once it got going, it was great and ended on a plot twist cliffhanger.

Overall, I would recommend this book to certain people who like these tropes.

Thank you to the author for an eARC copy of this book. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.

Wicked. By @adalinewinterswriter 🥰
This was such a fun story.
Fast paced with lots of great humor and with some interesting development in the love department.
It’s a twisted fairytale story, where you get a very different side to the classical stories.
There is always a dark side to the narratives 😜

There are knights needing damsels to rescue, prince charmings (in plural) needing their Cinderella 😜
And the darker side of wishes from a genie 🧞‍♂️
And lots of other fantasy creatures making their entrance.
They all strive to be the best, but only the chosen will ascend to the narrative 😎

Gwyneth, the good and lovable sister. Intelligent and smart.
Then there is Daphne, the blunt and direct one. With a bad habit of getting into trouble. Or trouble finds her 😈
And she finds herself tangled up in a quartet of super hot men. 4 brothers to be exact.
And why choose when you can have them all?😜😜 #reverseharem

A solid 4 star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was lucky to be selected to receive an earc of this wonderful book by Adeline Winters.
A great read and I can’t wait to see where she takes the story next.
Well worth the read if you like a bit of darker fairytale, and you are not scared by more then one “knight” in the storyline 😂😜
Good and entertaining humor and some cool twists to the classics we all know.

Book is out 13.06 🤩

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is the first ARC I’ve received and I was so excited to read a soon to be released book and give it an honest review. Unfortunately it fell a bit short for me.

The good: it’s fun. Plain and simple this is a fun read with a clumsy FMC who manages to peak the interest of four knights. It’s set in a world of fairy tales and the interweaving of the different tales (Cinderella to King Arthur) and the humor reminded me a lot of Shrek. Toward the end of the book, the intrigue and dark side of the fairy tales starts to come out and could be really interesting to read in future sequels. However, these plot points didn’t start coming until the book was nearly finished. Overall, if you’re looking for a fun read that takes all your favorite fairy tales and mixes them together with more humor and some spice, this is for you.

The bad: I could not stand the FMC, Daphne. She overused certain words (like floof, either was dumb or played dumb a lot, and seemed to have things happen to her rather than taking action herself. Similarly, the 4 MMC overused calamity to describe Daphne, fell in love with her instantly with no reason to build up (I needed tension!!!), and lacked personalities so that I could barely tell the four apart.

This was unexpectedly fantastic! I wanted something light and fun to read when I picked this up and usually, I don't get my hopes up for something like that to be more than 3 stars or so. I also usually don't like humor in books since it often just doesn't work and a lot of the jokes fall flat. I cannot tell you how many times I cackled, alone, into my apartment like a psycho while reading this book. Who knew that someone could make sausage jokes work?

Daphne is the perfect heroine. She's a menace to everyone around her, but has so much heart and is willing to do whatever she can to keep her loved ones safe despite being well aware she's likely to maim herself (or stab someone else, accidentally, of course) in the process. I adore her chaos. She may benefit from an Adderall Rx though.

Thank you, Adaline Winters. I genuinely had a blast reading this.

If you're looking for a new take on fairytales I highly suggest giving this one a try. Daphne Stone is a maiden with a curse of clumsiness and brings chaos to those around her. Her sister Gwyneth is chosen by prince charming to see if she could be his Cinderella. When they go to the Hallows, she meets the Stirling brothers. Knights and trouble makers, but somehow she worms her way into their hearts and they worm their way into hers. I love this spin on fairytales and Daphne is such a witty charismatic character that you can't help but love and root for. There's some delicious spice and a lot of tension. There were some twists and the ending is quite the cliffhanger. Can't wait for book 2 and see what other adventures we will get to go on with Daphne and her crew.

I haven’t had so much fun reading a book in such a long time! This book is literally so out there and wild that it’s just entertaining!

Daphne thinks she’s cursed with clumsiness which makes for an interesting life. But she lives life like every day is her last. Her character is funny but so random. The brothers were each unique and I love all of them.

Even the side characters and creatures were written well enough that you attach to them.

The characters were written well. The world was so interesting. The twists weaved in about fairytales and how they truly end is amazing.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was fun, at times it was hot, other times it was hilarious. I’m stoked for Book 2.
