This short horror story may not be suitable for all readers. Contains violence some may find extreme.
A serial killer stalks online yard sale pages, searching for his next victim; luring his prey in with items that don't exist. Rebecca was only looking for a piece of furniture when she placed her ISO listing. Never thinking to question the identity of the woman that replied, she agrees to meet at her house and she's never seen again. How many women will fall prey to this man before he can be stopped?
Solid 4.5 stars for this book. It was more of a psychological horror than just a horror. The mental breakdown of the character was interesting to see how a person's own actions can have an effect on them. The story was very well written and constructed with hints of the main character's descent throughout but not real indication of what is happening to him until the end. Defninitely recommend this book if you are looking for a quick horror read to keep your mind engaged trying to figure out the reveal for yourself as you read the story.
Mental illness is dangerous. And unfortunately there are people out there like this guy looking to harm people looking to buy stuff online. Story was fast paced and entertaining. Wouldn't mind more details about acquisition of the girls. Quick read.
Coming in at under 40 pages, it's hard to review a book this length without re telling the story. With this title, I expected gore and lots of it. The violence was mild and nothing what I expected. Which isn't a bad thing, it's just is.
This definitely should have been longer. The short story left me with so many questions (in a good way) and I wanted a bit more. The concept, as someone who has purchased things online before, is terrifying.
I enjoyed this book. I've had it downloaded on my Kindle for a while but just got around to reading it. I've been stuck on one genre lately and this quick horror tale broke me out of my rut. I liked the writing and now I have another author to add to my TBR. Enjoy.
