As a teenager, Darcy thought she had it all figured out - graduate with honors, go to college and begin a career - until she decides to be a normal high school student and let loose. A night out with friends couldn't hurt, right? Wrong.
Darcy works tirelessly over the years to make up for the guilt and shame she carries with her from that night. She is married and has a rewarding career. When free-spirited Elena moves next door she is drawn into her care-free life. Both women view the other as a conduit to move on from their past. As chance would have it, they both become pregnant at the same time. Who wouldn't want to have a child at the same time as their best friend?
Until one of them loses their child and sees their friend as the solution. Life is the only thing standing in the way. Kill the friend, steal the baby and live happily ever after.
The first sentence. That is all it takes for "Fatal Conception" to completely captivate you. The author, Danielle Lydic, immerses you in the stories of her characters; they become your friends, your foes. The book is written from the perspective of three different characters, engaging you in their thoughts. This book lacks nothing. The romance, the drama, the suspense, the horror. Danielle’s "Fatal Conception" is sure to please.
This book was fantastic! It was a quick read because it sucked me in. The author's writing style let me imagine the story with ease. I enjoyed the alternating viewpoints from both of the main characters. I did not see the plot twist coming. I hope this author has plans for more books. I have been recommending this title to all of my book buddies. Buy this book now, you won't regret it!
There were parts I really enjoyed in this novel and parts I really didn’t. Overall, I found huge chunks to be very preachy - this is only solidified by the author’s note at the end. The religious aggression was almost too much, but I’m still giving it 3 stars due to the ending I didn’t see coming.
