I was fortunate to already have the 3rd book. As other reviewers have said, it ends abruptly.
For me this is about the world and the character building. We learn a bit more about the world as the character do as well. New characters are introduced, but not fully fleshed out. We must keep reading to learn more about them.
The mystery is interesting but is more of a sideline.
I have not read Alice Sabo's other series so I cannot make any comparisons. I want to keep reading. I thing that is the best review a book can get.
I loved the first half of this book as much as I’ve loved most of Alice Sabo’s works. But the second half felt rushed and disorganized and seemed to end abruptly in the middle of a set-up. I had the same impression from the last book I read in her Transmutation series. I get the feeling she’s writing to meet deadlines that are too close together. If so, please slow down, Ms. Sabo. I’ll wait, though not patiently. I enjoy your books too much for patience.
