Cessation - the fact or process of ending or being brought to an end
Yani Hart has been helping everyone find their soulmate for years. She is living a good life with her high school sweetheart and believes she has her true love in tow. However, she is reminded that everything that glitters isn’t gold.
Paxton Hughes isn’t the man that needs or wants a woman. He handles them as he sees fit and goes on about his business. His status has women’s attention, but none has given him a reason to look twice, until he takes a meeting with Yani Hart.
Their experience as a socialite should’ve guided them but instead their hearts lead. When two parties aren’t on the same page, they’re destined for a collision.
Baby i didn't know if i could forgive Yani! Paxton was definitely a book bae 😍. Now i hated how Yani did her and Dawn's friendship....Yani was ABSOLUTELY wrong. Dawn should've whoop her tail! I want and spin off of Dawn and Jo.
I have to say that this is my first time reading this authors work and I’m please to say I wasn’t diss appointed. This was such a good read that tugged at all of my emotions Paxton Hughes was all about taking care of business in the boardroom as well as in the bedroom. He definitely decided no women would ever get apart of his heart and he stuck to that for a number of years, until He encounter Yani. Unfortunately Yani was carrying around a rear. Deal of unnecessary baggage that she just couldn’t seem to let go of. This story tugged at all of my emotions. I even experience a little anxiety at one point in the story I was yelling at her ,telling her if she didn’t start like she had some common sense 😂😂😂 I was just not Going to finish reading the book. 🤦🏽♀️😂 of course that did not Happen.
I don’t want to spoil this for anyone so I’ll simply say, if you read this book you won’t be disappointed. Just be ready to experience several different emotions.
A note to Connie Easton. Will Josiah an Dawn get a story and what about Payton seems like she would have an interesting story to tell❤️❤️❤️
I admit I was sucked in and wanted to see how things played out, which says a lot. The story was definitely entertaining, despite how utterly frustrated I was by pretty much every character in here. There was sooo much contradiction, mainly from Yani and Trust. They both said one thing then did the total opposite. Yani was an idiot and Trust was a selfish hypocrite. Pax was the only one that had some sense (outside of Yani's friends; I liked them) but then he went back to her after what she did. I get her condition but...nah. I was with Josiah in that she didn't suffer enough. To me, too many folks gave her a pass or let her off the hook some kinda way (like with what Josiah said when Pax said she'd played him). Homegirl even tried to play the victim a few times, which was comical. She didn't seem remorseful enough for me but that's relative, I suppose. But if it was Pax that had done the dirt, I'm feeling he wouldn't have gotten off so easily.
The story started with Yani being treated like a side chick on her birthday by her man, and it went downhill afterwards. Then Yani met a real man named Paxton and she, fumbled, double dribble, and traveled with the ball. Use any metaphor you want that means she acted real lame. But, I don't get is why it took Yani so long to accept that Truth was a Liar, and that his mom should have named him differently in the end. If you believe your man's BS for ten years, it is what it is... Overall, I enjoyed this annoyingly good story about a couple finding the right person who's meant to be their match.
This book was so good! It really delivered on the idea that sometimes time in a relationship doesn’t always equal what’s best for you. The story beautifully illustrated how stepping away from what’s familiar and embracing something new can open doors to unexpected happiness and growth.
The characters were relatable, and their journeys felt authentic, making me root for them as they navigated tough decisions. The message about letting go and finding what truly fulfills you was both inspiring and thought-provoking.
If you enjoy books that explore love, self-discovery, and the courage to embrace change, this is a must-read!

I really loved this story. The characters are likeable, interesting, and dealing with different types of pain. Their new situationship started at the wrong time. She was dealing with heartbreak and he was still feeling the affects of his loss. The journey to true love and happiness was a rocky one. But they made it in the end. I loved this author's writing style and her way with words.
I love Paxton he was kinda rough sweet caring etc and ain gone lie Yani kinda made me mad but I'm glad she learned from her mistakes and Im glad they got it together and I would like to hear more from Jo and Dawn I feel like they got a story to tell overall I loved how everything turned out
Yani knew dang well she didn’t have it in her to play like she did with Paxton. Trust should’ve been named Trash. Dawn had every right to feel some type of way because she told Yani this was going to happen then boom. If L&L wasn’t in the picture I feel like Pax would’ve walked away. I’m glad Paxton got his ending but Yani I’m still not feeling you my girl 😒.
DNf at 20% what do you mean your husband cheated on you and you still stayed!!! Nahhhh I don't like that And he still was cheating!!!!! And you stayed!!!!! For what? The FMC piss me off too much in the beginning I just can't 😭 I went in blind eye and was so disappointed, the plot could be good but seeing the FMC stayed made me drop the book. Not a fan of cheating trope with low self-esteem books.
Yari didn't deserve Paxton, and she needs not ever drink again. She doesn't take accountability for her part in this mess. She hangs up on Pax like a teenager then gets mad when he doesn't respond to her childish behavior. She did Dawn wrong, she wasn't a good friend. Imo, Paxton didn't make her suffer enough.
I was really into the concept and the story plot... but it fizzled... Trust was anything but and the story showed the toxic cycle of a no good man up against a worth something man... I love the sister tho
I almost wanted to jump in this book on Yani and shake her a little bit because she was going through some type of mind block over Trust!! So happy she worked it out and came to her senses. Paxton was such a good man!!
Omg this book was so good. Aht Aht, what happen with Josiaha and Dawn?! Think you slick lol. Anyways, you did your thang foreal. You know I been a fan since book 1.
